"You just implied I have no LIFE...when did that become a personal compliment!?" He demanded baffled at the other young man's reaction. "Besides no one EVER just offers 'fun' they always -want- something, everyone -wants- something it's just a matter of figuring out what it is, at least I'm honest about it, what about you? Company? Pick up lines? 'Hey please save me from this short angry weirdo who followed me here?"

"Oh, yeah, you're perfectly fine." It was more than just teasing sarcasm, this time; instead, it bit, was just a little bit mean. Meaner than he meant, and Ever bit down on it before it went any farther.
"You don't have to. But I'll probably go, and you can come with, and we can work out the 'hows' once we're there." Or, his tone implied, if he'd rather, Zac could just go ******** himself. Ever had offered.

"You'd be an expert on fine I'm sure..." he said his tone as cold as dry ice. "Fine." He added coldly though, he'd damn well prove he was fine and prove he wasn't missing a damned thing from this... impediment's offer, AND he'd if nothing else... well he could scout it out as a potential nest of targets for his... job.

"Fine." Ever sounded just as cool and sharp, stabbing his fork into the destroyed remains of his calzone -- apparently quite done with it now. He'd settle back to stare steadily at Zac and polish off the end of his root beer, trying to read something.
"Not everyone is trying to get something out of you." He narrowed his eyes a little, and something about the serious expression made him look years later. "And sometimes they are, but they can get it without taking. Enjoyment of company. Fun..."

"Everyone to -date- is, even if its just an attempt at some childish thrill." He argued in return. He leaned back and stared suspiciously at his companion of the moment. "... I'll concede that some of their desires MAY at times be less onerous or selfish than others."

"Hey, I never said anything about a date." His eyebrows raised at that, and some of the sharpness faded out of his expression, Ever's posture relaxing and shoulders slumping just a little. Maybe Zac had successfully dissipated that moment of anger.
"Though we could give that a whirl too." He made a wobbling seesaw gesture, uncertain.

Zac's face turned an impressive shade of crimson. "NOT thatkindofdate!" He said hastily. "I meant date as in from in so far as I could remember to the present!" He was gripping the edges of the table white knuckled and looking deeply embarrassed if a little panicky. Though at the same token he hadn't bolted from the table OR said he didn't swing that way.

There was a smile, finally, blossoming comfortably across his face. Ever polished off his drink and rolled his shoulders in a quick shrug. As easily as that, he'd forgotten to be furious.
"Couple drinks in you and then we can see. You're sure you can't get your hands on a fake ID?"

"Don't be so damned sure of yourself" he shot back and then stuck his chin up as though he were utterly assured of his next words. "I can do -anything- if I have the time, I'm a little short on sources for fake ID's just at the moment though... how long do I have to pull this off."
Challenge accepted. There had to be someone he had dirt on that could lead him to a fake ID...better, someone who would pay for it.

"I was going to say soon, but if you need a few days..." He tipped his head, still beaming at Zac, and set the empty can down on his plate -- then, in one awkward, sharp movement, slid up to stand.
"Uh. Pick a day and we can work it out." One hand shot out to nab his plate, so he could take it off to the trash. "I don't have any other engagements at the moment."

He frowned considering... He was not sure what day... he'd spent so much time planning everything else he wasn't sure what else he had when for his 'civilian' life. "... Saturday." he said finally, it was the safest bet, he almost never scheduled things then out of habit anyhow. He was PRETTY sure he didn't have any time scheduled with Beth, and he could call off anything with his mother.
"I'd say I'll contact you but..." He glanced Ever over and pondered, it wasn't like he could hand over his track phone, god forbid anyone from the 'team' called it like they were intended.
"... I'm pretty sure you can find Hillworth right?"

"What kind of pervert do you think I am?" Ever was still grinning, though, as he gestured rudely at Zac and took one step back from the table. He sounded offended, but after a moment, he tilted his head and conceded.
"...I've been there a couple times. I could find my way, at least. When?"

"YOU started the conversation with age questions, I think you would prefer I not answer the question regarding the nature of your perversions." He replied with a satisfied smirk. Zac pondered the next question... "Christ..." he muttered, when was a 'good' and socially acceptable time that didn't seem 'date' ish.
"I'm assuming your intended destination opens later in the evening... 5?..." He hazarded trying to keep away from 'date' hours like 8 and 9...those were the dating hours correct? Everyone wanted their children home by 10 or midnight right?

Ever hummed at that, considered pushing his luck, and then raised a hand in an almost dismissive way. That would serve, perhaps, though yeah, it was a bit early. And he could play along.
"We can get dinner first." So be it. He kept moving, back toward the trash. "Five on Saturday."

... had that worked in not being 'date ish' or had it NOT... he wasn't sure anymore so he just paused and finally nodded though he did look uncertain...and out of his depth somehow. "Five on Saturday... I'll be near or...outside the front gate."
A long awkward pause. "Right... see you ah... then."
