I don't want to change the world ~ I just want to leave it colder

User ImageAngela could tell that Mitch was reacting dangerous levels of emotion that it could put her in danger. She had been around enough werewolves to know what it looked like when they lost control. Her mind started to wonder if she would have the willpower to kill Mitch if it came down to it. In her head, it was a logically solution. He was a werewolf. If he were to attack she would have to kill him. There was no other option. However, her heart wasn’t sure if she would be able to pull the trigger. This thought scared her.

She was relieved when she saw him calm down after what she said. Did what she say to him actually get through? She could almost see him apologizing to her about everything. He wouldn’t go with the werewolves. He would come home and they would find a cure and things could go back to normal. This was a fantasy though, and as much as Angela would love for it to be a reality the chances were unlikely. She quickly pulled herself out of that little dream. Angela wasn’t a person who wasted her time with dreams. In her opinion, you were disappointed a lot that way. This situation being one of the many examples.

”So what does this mean, Mitch?” Angela had to hear him say it. To confirm her worst fear. Even though Angela had a hard time expressing emotion she knew that she loved Mitch. She had grown up around and the two of them were the best. Out of all the people to go soft on her, Mitch wasn’t even on the list for possible suspects. ”You’re quitting the team? Going to live your life as a mangy dog?” Being angry was the only way Angela could keep herself from breaking down. There was no way she was going to show that kind of weakness in front of Mitch.

User Image Selena was starting to get a little bored hanging around Apollo. There were days when the guy was just great to talk to but other days, like today, he was very focused on his work. Finally just deciding that she had enough of waiting around, Selena hopped off the table she had been sitting on. ”Well, Apollo, I’m not going to lie to you. This was really boring. It wasn’t me, it was you.” She smiled slightly to show how she was simply teasing him. His response was merely to give her a playful shove. ”Well then get out of here then. I don’t need your mood bringing me down.”

After exiting Apollo’s room, Selena was at a lost for something to do. The night was long enough that everyone was mostly up by now. That meant that the place would start to get a bit crowded for Selena’s liking. She felt that familiar itch tingle down her spine. One thing she would love to do is to just change into her wolf form and go running through the forest. It would feel so good to feel the wind as she raced around. However, she wasn’t ‘allowed’ to do such a thing. Her dad had specifically told her a few days ago that if she were to go outside, she couldn’t go far. Apparently some vampires had been spotted close and no one wanted their home to be given away. It made Selena quite angry that her father didn’t think she could be careful or that she could handle herself against Vampires. She was old enough to take care of herself.

The thought of the run kept racing through her mind that Selena felt she would go insane if something were not done about it. She thought of people she could convince to help her sneak away. Her brother would help but he was out on a mission. Lucky him. Mitch may also be one who could help. Selena wasn’t all too comfortable around the guy yet but she wouldn’t hesitate to use him for her own advantages. However, she found him nowhere. That left one option. Talking to her father. Selena made her way to her parent’s room and knocked on the door. She realized she didn’t know if it would be her father or her mother answering the door. She hoped for her mother. She might be able to convince her mom to help her deal with her dad.

By the time Michael caught up with her, Morgan was almost inside the house. Turning around at the sound of footsteps, Morgan raised an eyebrow at Micheal having caught her by the arm. ‘ Did I say something rude earlier?’, shaking her head, Morgan decided not to fight against Mike like she usually did. If anything, it would only make this situation worse if she had said something wrong to the potential new member, and their leader would get on to her for potential strife within their coven. As much as they got along, it was still a fearful thing to contemplate him being in an angry mood.

Can we talk later?”, Hearing Michael ask such a thing, the confusion on her face budded and bloomed. Perplexed beyond comprehension, all Morgan could do was furrow her eyebrows and blink profusely. ‘
He wants to talk? Why would he want to talk.’Pouring through her thoughts to try and find the answer, the only thing Morgan could possibly come up with was the possibility that Mike wanted to talk about…Morgan tilted her head and frowned as if there was nothing wrong, and she was being bothered. ‘ Best lead him off the scent.’, scoffing, Morgan playfully bopped her right hand against his shoulder.

Uh, sure…”, Morgan said with an awkward smile before trying to weasel her arm out of his grip. Knowing Mike had to do the ‘good thing’ and tend to the ‘gorgeous’ fledgling, Morgan walked inside the house and closed the door behind her. Of everybody, there were really only two people she got along with on an intimate, family, level and since she had trouble opening up to one of them at this particular moment…she was going to search for the other one. ‘ Surely he would be awake right now…

Devin had just woken up from his routine nap. He had to keep his strength up and ready in case there happened to be an attack. He sat up from his desk at the sound of a knock at the door. He raised one of his thick eyebrows and started to walk towards the door. (He wore a rather relaxed looking attire, a grey sweater over a white t-shirt with khaki pants.) He looked behind him to see that his wife had yet to awaken from her nap. He pulled the door open and scratched at the back of his head. When he saw Selena, he smiled. Ever since the loss of his other daughter, he'd been more protective of her. There was no chance in hell he was going to lose anymore of his pack. Especially not of his own blood, not Selena. He reached out to gentle pat her shoulder as he shut the door behind him. Devin crossed his arms over his chest and cocked is head to the side, "Is there something I can do for you, sweetheart?"

In the house beneath the cellar stood a closet attached to a staircase. Underneath that staircase stood a variety of hidden rooms built underneath the ground for the coven to flee to if and when distaster ever struck the house. Prepared for anything, Rameses had designed this average looking house as an impenetrable fortress. However, at the moment, these rooms were rarely used. Save for one. A large study stocked with decaying books, ancient manuscripts, and maps. Dozens upon dozens of rolled up maps. One in particular being rolled out flat and held down by metallic paperweights on an antique mohogany desk. Resting in an onyx leather chair sat Rameses, pouring over a map of nearby territories and using a tiny little pin to mark the locations of where his coven had been spotting warewolves. At the moment, there seemed to be no foul games afoot; however, that could change in a heartbeat, and he did not wish to waste his time hunting or training fledglings when the risk of present danger was omnipresent.

Sensing the aura of another coven member coming down the stairs, Rameses closed his eyes and thought back to the first time he ever saw Morgan Winchester. Rameses could remember the exact hour almost perfectly, the twelve year old was running through the forest just as the sun had drifted below the mountains. At the time, Rameses had preferred to scount himself for a few hours of the evening during that especially stressful time, and seeing a twelve-year-old-looking child running around after nightfall had been a peculiar thing to behold. Mostly because, of all things, the child had been trying to find him. Sure, Rameses had played along, let the child continue to bed for her life at his feet like a roaming vagabond when he knew very well whose child she was. Of course Ramases was going to take the warewolf leader's daughter under his wing; but, he hadn't imagined growing attached to the little thing.

With Morgan now being somewhere in-between an adopted child or younger sibling, the girl would often visit him in his study when she had something on her mind, and (on rare occassions) when she sensed he had something on his mind. Which begged the question of whether there was anything particularly troublesome bumbling about his thought life. At the moment, Ramases could think of nothing besides the usual concerns. For the moment the warewolf pack was a reasonable distance from their lair, and the hunters were distracted by the warewolves for the better part off the autumn season. She must have something on her mind this evening. Other than having a concern, the girl knew better than to disturb him in his study.

Leaning back in the chair at the sound of footsteps echoing down the hidden staircase, Ramases set down a metal disk he used for measurement on the right side of his desk and tilted up his chin towards the iron plated door. Just imagining little Morgan's face reminded him of his sworn enemy: Devin Winchester, and it had taken him several years to not feel the flame of anger every time the image of her face flashed into his mind. For as long as vampirically possible, Rameses preferred the members of his coven to stay once they joined, and he would not surrender Morgan back to her father even if the man asked for her. Morgan seemed to doubt that Devin would when he discovered her presence here; however, a part of Ramases knew better. That man had a soft spot for his children and Rameses could imagine no better revenge than stealing away the love and affection of his own children. Especially, his -then- little princess Morgan. Whomever bit her he would give a medal to; but, for now Rameses pulled his attention back to the present.

                                          '
Go ahead and come inside, I am not too busy to converse with you.', he thought to his protege, projecting the words from his mind now that she was close enough in range to hear the projected thought. Once vampires shared blood with each other, they gained the ability to share projected thoughts towards the other person. However, learning how to project was tricky, and Rameses had quite a few amusing memories of the utter nonsense people occassionally thought of that Morgan had unintentionally projected during her few years in his coven. Of course, she was not the only one he shared his blood with. Other proven members of his 'family' had shared a small amount of blood together as well; however, they were a mite bit older than twelve, and most had learned how to properly project thoughts and images. Using his aura to try and poke about Maple's mind, Rameses looked for a weak spot. Although every mind was nigh impenetrable when one took the time to guard it, Maple occassionally left a weak spot open, and in determindly searching for that wormhole, the word 'Micheal' bubbled into his consciousness. Wondering if that was the subject Morgan desired to ask him about, when the door finally opened, he had one eyebrow raised in contemplative perplexion.

Morgan wasn’t even on the final stair when Rameses’ voice echoed into her mind. ‘ Go ahead and come inside, I am not too busy to converse with you.’, Far from being spooked upon hearing someone else’s voice pop into her head, Morgan simply frowned slightly at feeling the sensation very similar to a caress stroke about her aura. Rameses was a very logical sort of person, and he liked to have as much information as possible before undertaking anything. Be it a battle-plan, or a conversation. At this point, Morgan was used to feeling mentally molested and simply shrugged it off. Morgan had bigger fish to fry, the majority being Michael. Suddenly, at remembering him, Morgan felt the invisible hands disappear and a frown decorated her face. ‘ Great. Now hes going to ask me about him.’, hoping to have kept that a surprise until she was able to build up the courage to ask him for advice, Morgan opened the door to see that all-knowing, questioning, glance on his face and felt her confidence begin to dwindle.

Closing the door behind her, Morgan approached the farthest seat from the door and sat down in her usual spot. Besides his chair, it was farthest away from the door and thus provided a subliminal element of safety. Not to mention it was the closest chair to Rameses, and she preferred to converse as close as possible. She could probably just start ‘thinking’ things around him and communicate that way, but talking out loud reminded her of what life had been like before she had been bitten. As if, in some small way, a part of her was still human. She wasn’t, and in thinking back on the matter, was glad she was not still a weak little human; however, she liked to know she still had feelings underneath her skin. That she wasn’t a complete monster, as her father used to always say when he talked about Vampires. Perhaps the way she was raised would always be engraved within her, but these people weren’t monsters, and she wasn’t a monster. Morgan had to believe that. Best not dilly dally. Even if Rameses already knew what she was going to say, Morgan was going to say it anyway, and get this conversation over with.

Um…”, Morgan stalled, trying to find the proper wording. ‘ Oh my goodness am I actually asking our Clan leader for boy-trouble advice?’, Feeling horribly stupid, Morgan was about to change her mind, stand up, and walk out of the room when he tapped his fingers on the desk contemplatively. Morgan always tended to assume that Rameses knew everything before she told him, even though it wasn’t true. Just think it to him if your too ashamed to say it. For once, that sounded like a good idea, and Morgan debated doing so. ‘ But how do I word such a thing?’Stumbling for the right thing to say, images of seeing Michael and the new fledgling flooded into her mind. About to open her mouth and try again, Morgan thought she saw Rameses’ mouth begin to open. Thinking he was going to say something, Morgan simply looked up and waited for a piece of wisdom to plummet out of his mouth.

Watching Morgan slowly enter the study and approach her usual chair, Ramases let the back of his skull rest against the top of his chair. With the word ‘Michael’ being the only hint he was able to work off of Rameses throttled his mind for possible reasons why Morgan would want to talk to him about it. ‘
Is she asking for my blessing?’, making a face, Rameses wasn’t fully convinced that Morgan would be asking such a thing. Usually when one shared such news, there was at least a hopeful smile glimpsing out past the worry, and all Rameses could see in Morgan’s eyes was worry and concern. It had been a great many years since vampires attempted to ‘arrange’ any sort of relationships between vampires, so the idea of her imagining him to ‘expect’ a sort of union between the two could not have been a viable option. Surely Morgan would not be troubled about that. Raising his eyebrow one more, Rameses thought of the most reasonable conclusion he could think of, and was about to bring up the subject when a series of images flooded out from Morgan’s inner eye.

Seeing Michael standing in the woods beside an unknown vampire female, Rameses closed his eyes and recalled the memory. Feeling Morgan’s unease as well as just the pictures, the final unfolding of the little scene brought the conclusion that Michael was bringing a new fledgling home. There were other subjects to ponder over; but, as far as he was concerned, the new fledgling was the only thing Rameses felt qualified to address. Opening his eyes towards Morgan, Rameses began to confront the matter.

Was Michael right behind you, Morgan?”, remembering the images that Morgan had projected, he didn’t bother waiting for a reply. Obviously, Morgan was in some form distressed at the idea of a new coven member, and to be honest he did not blame the girl. If she was beginning to feel an attachment to Michael, this new fledgling could threaten the way she ‘blended’ here. After everything Rameses had done, personally, to convince Morgan that this was the place she was meant to stay, the last thing he wanted was for another coven member to make her feel alienated from the group because Michael developed an attachment for the new female. ‘ That must be what Morgan wanted to discuss with me.’ As caring and charitable as Rameses was, he did have to consider the wellbeing of all his ‘family’ when enforcing rules or bringing in new members. If it was up to Rameses, no one would court without his permission. Alas, that sort of thing was not up to him, and he did not wish to enforce such a warewolf-like grip of control.

Wait here Morgan, I must greet out new member.”, Passing a reassuring wink to his adopted baby, Rameses moved from his position and headed towards the stairs. Hopefully to greet this new vampire girl and help her get settled. A great part of his generous heart desired to help any new vampire learn basic hunting skills and have a place of safety; but, in greeting the ‘female’ this time, Rameses hoped to distract her attention away from Michael so that perhaps those two might be able to focus on developing their friendship. For some reason, it seemed that their friendship had been strained for a while, and he hoped they could mend their differences quickly. To ensure no loose chains in the ‘family’.

Walking out of the secret ‘closet’, Rameses headed towards where he sensed Michael’s presence to be and bowed slightly in respect. Something he did for nearly every new member to try and break the awkward tension and make them feel appreciated or ‘safe’.

Good evening, Michael…Who is your new little friend?

Mitch didn’t know how Angela was going to react to his last statement. It was all true, but he knew it wasn’t what she wanted to hear. It wasn’t really what he wanted to say to her, but what was done is done. He couldn’t lie to her, give her false promises. It would be worse to lie to her than to tell her the outright truth. And sometimes the truth hurt. Perhaps he wasn’t clear enough, or maybe she just wanted outright confirmation, but she just had to ask. Sighing he thought of an easy way to say what he was going to say. There was no easy way to put it, and that was the hard part. No matter how he said that he had to leave, it was going to hurt.

Her next questions hit him hard. Was he quitting the team? Was he going to leave something that he was a part of for so long to live among the werewolves? Just thinking about that made him feel guilty.
What kind of a person was he to turn his back on the team? A traitor? He didn’t want to think of that. He wasn’t a traitor, traitors were looked down upon and shunned. Mitch didn’t want either of those. He didn’t like to think he was a traitor, because he wasn’t going against the team to fight against them, he was doing it to help them. Maybe if they took the time to look at the enemy they too would realize that they really weren’t the enemy.

It was the bit about the mangy dog that ticked Mitch off. He couldn’t help what he was now. Sure he might turn into a wolf, but he wasn’t mangy.
“I don’t know how to tell you this, but I’m a werewolf,” he said sarcastically. “On full moons I change into a gigantic wolf with fur and paws and a tail. I can’t be a part of the team anymore. I just have to face the fact that I am not human anymore and I can’t live like one.” He sighed as he became more serious. “I am not going to fight a fight that doesn’t need to be fought. This war is pointless.” Would this make him a traitor, if he planned on staying out of the fights altogether? He didn’t want to kill the hunters nor the werewolves. He wanted to be Switzerland, an independent country staying out of the war. “This is a really hard decision for me Angela. If there was another way, I’d take it, but there isn’t. Just please don’t hate me.” Mitch was now worried that Angela was going to be so furious at him that he’d turn him in to the other hunters and his face would be all over headquarters as Most Wanted.

Arraine didn't like the feeling around her one bit, it bothered her a lot. She didn't belong here at the moment and she knew it but she had no where else to go. It would be a last resort to have to go back to the life of solitude. Not understanding why Morgan seemed to suddenly leave, she momentarily had to wonder what the reason was. She didn't dwell on the thought too long it was not of her concern at the moment mostly because it wasn't her business nor was it her place.

Noticing Michael's look of apology she didn't know how to respond. She hadn't expected to be wanted anywhere really so the way Morgan acted didn't bother her. Of course she would remember the way people acted toward her to know not to near them or upset them in the future. Giving Michael a nod to respond to what he said her face remained serious.

Receiving the look from Michael she decoded it easily. Continuing to walk in the direction they were going. Very alert she was observant of her surroundings even when Michael had been there. Each step was careful and quiet to help aid her in feeling a little safer. Reaching the house she stopped a small ways away from them. She did not wish to interrupt them or walk into something.

Upon seeing Rameses she felt a little more unsure of this place. The fearful look reappeared subconsciously on her face. Men were a lot harder to trust and be around for Arraine especially after being bitten. She would of course be patient and see how this would play out before deciding to flee or not.

Michael waited for Morgan’s response before she gave him a short little reply. He really must have messed things up pretty bad. As much as he raked his brain, Michael just couldn’t figure out what he did to offend Morgan. He was tempted to just follow her now and get everything sorted out but he couldn’t do that. Arraine needed blood and she would also need to meet up with Rameses. He was the one that would have the final say in if she could stay or not. Michael sincerely hoped he would accept this girl. She was lost and confused and he really wanted to help her out.

After Morgan left again, Michael glanced behind and saw Arraine stopped a ways away. Probably to give him privacy while he talked to Morgan. He was grateful for that. This girl may be confused but she was kind. She shouldn’t have to be on her own in this world not understanding what she was. In a way, Michael was glad he had awoken early to be able to find her and help her. He smiled at her once again. ”You’ll need to meet up with Rameses. He’s the leader and will have the final say on if you can stay with us. Don’t worry though. He’s a good guy. I’m sure there will be no problem.”

It was just then that Rameses happened to appear right before him. Noting the bow, Michael did the same. He had a great amount of respect for Rameses and he wanted to make sure that he showed it. ”Good evening, Rameses. This is Arraine.” He gestured to her and also tried to gesture to her to come closer and not be afraid. ”She was running through the woods when I came across her. She seemed a bit confused and scared so I offered her my assissance. I don’t know when the last time she fed was so I was going to get her some blood as well.” He glanced back at Arraine and once again gave her an apologetic smile. ”Forgive me. I suppose I could have let you answer for yourself.” The truth was, Michael had wanted to convey the facts about the situation to Rameses right away. He knew that Arraine was frightened and there was no telling on what she would tell Rameses exactly.

User Image The entire time she waited for the door to open, Selena prepared herself to face her father. She had to be strong and ready for anything. She knew that her father was probably going to reject her idea the instant it came out so she needed to have a strong argument. Of course, her idea of a strong argument was her using phrases like ‘that’s not fair’ and ‘Daddy please’ etc. It might sound like whining but Selena didn’t all too much care. She wanted out into the world and if she had to act a certain way then she would do so.

Once the door opened and Selena saw her dad, she froze. She instantly forgot what she was going to start with. Why did this always happen to her? Why couldn’t her mother have been the one to answer the door? She stumbled around trying to find the words she was looking for until her train of thought was returned to her. ”I… uh….need…to…uh. I want to go for a run in the forest.” There. She said it. It was out there. Now based on his reaction she was ready to go into a huge rant. She only had to wait until he was finished with a response before she went into it.

I don't want to change the world ~ I just want to leave it colder

User ImageAngela rolled her eyes at Mitch’s sarcasm. Of course he would be the one to use that in this kind of serious conversation. The comment he had about the war being pointless ticked Angela off. There was a point to this war and if Mitch was too blind to see it then that was his lost. He used to know the reasons they were fighting. It was to ensure the survival of the human race, to make sure innocent blood wasn’t spilled by these monsters. Angela remembered a day when the two of them would swear to die before every living as one of those monsters. Apparently, Mitch didn’t hold to that promise. He was perfectly fine just changing himself into one of them.

To hear the stupid line of it being hard for him just made everything worse. She wanted to yell at him. Tell him to shut up. There was no way this was hard for him. He made his point perfectly clear. He thought what they were doing was wrong and he wanted no part of it. The way he talked made it seem like it was anything but hard for him to chose those monsters over the people he once loved.

”I’ll take that as a ‘yes’ then.” The venom in Angela’s voice was clear. She was taken this as his resignation. ”I’ll be sure to let the others know that you quit.” She just wanted to leave this place right now. It was too much for Mitch to basically tell her that she was a horrible person for what she believed was right. The pain behind the fact that she could never be with him again was too much to bear. Luckily, the best way to hide the pain was through more anger. She didn’t want Mitch to know what she was feeling. ”Just be sure not to cross my path again. Because I promise you that will be the last time you will see me.”

Nodding in response to Michael’s bow, Rameses tilted his chin to the right slightly in order to better allow his eyes to glaze over Arraine. Seeing the fearful, apprehensive, look splashed upon her face only reinforced his instinctual belief that Arraine was newly turned. Keeping every muscle in his body as still as possible, Rameses kept his facial expression light and airy. In the hopes of soothing her nerves and reassuring her worries. Hearing Michael continue, Rameses averted his gaze to share eye-contact with him. Hearing her name, finally, a jovial smile brightened his face and Rameses reached out his hand for her to shake it if she wished.

Good evening, Arraine.”, bowing slightly again, to be genteel, he turned his head back to Michael and brightened his smile. Like a well-made statue, Rameses hid all signs of shrewdness from glowing on his face. As pretty and harmless as this potential new member would be, Rameses had every intention of deducing their levels of attraction. Which pleasantly reminded him that he had left before Morgan had time to properly ask him her question. Contemplating the perfect excuse to talk with Arraine alone, Rameses glanced towards the young woman in preparation to open his mouth.

She was running through the woods when I came across her. She seemed a bit confused and scared so I offered her my assisstance. I don‘t know when the last time she fed was so I was going to get her some blood as well.

Quite proud of Michael at this point, Rameses partially ignored his next statement to concentrate on the future. Taking four to five steps towards Micheal, Rameses arched his back while leaning forward to have a small level of secrecy in the subject he hoped to whisper into his ear. Taking one final glance Arraine’s way, Rameses began to mumble a phrase into Micheal’s ear before pointing towards the door.

How about I escort Arraine around the manor. If you would, Morgan‘s had you on her mind for some reason, and as you can see, I have pressing business to attend to. Your good friends, if something happened it might be best to talk about it before the wound widens. ” and leaning away from Michael, Rameses smiled at Arraine and extended his arm to be appropriate.

If you would like to stay for a few nights, to determine whether you desire to stay here, I can show you to an empty room. A proper bed always beats the floor or a dismal cave. ”, Laughing at his little joke, Rameses smiled and locked eye-contact with Arraine. Continuing to hold his arm out for a little while longer to see whether or not she would take it.

As Michael spoke to Arraine she looked at him to listen to his words. She didn't like meeting new people very much especially not men which she seemed to be meeting a lot right now. Not feeling very comforted by being told not to worry, she would always worry as far as she was concerned. Seeing Michael bow Arraine didn't know what she was suppose to do feeling out of place again. So far she had gathered that she often felt out of place around others here. Will it always be like this? The worried thought crossed her mind while she looked at Rameses. Warily outstretching her arm she gentle shook the older vampires hand not feeling exactly comfortable.

Nodding to Rameses in response to him addressing her. She was not sure whether or not she wished to speak yet or if she was suppose to. It had seemed like he was about to say something to her when Michael started responding again, though she could not be sure of this. Not minding that Michael had just explained everything he knew about her to Rameses she did not react to Michael's apology. Watching Rameses move to talk to Michael seeming to not want her to hear she looked away soon ignoring the two knowing she did not belong in that conversation. She hadn't heard a thing about what they were saying.

Arraine nodded to Rameses taking in what she was being told about this place. A small smile formed on her face at his joke though it was a short lived thing. Locking eyes with him she felt a little afraid again but she was fine. Taking his arm she decided that he didn't seem to want to harm her.

Michael paid close attention to Rameses face as he explained what was going on. He wanted to be sure that Rameses would understand that this girl was scared and confused. The situation needed to be handled delicately. Of course, Rameses was quite skilled in knowing how to handle any type of situation right away. It was something that Michael admired about him.

When Rameses leaned in to talk to him, Michael made sure to pay attention. Of course, once he heard what was said, Michael became uneasy. He had been on Morgan’s mind? That just proved that he did something wrong. He felt horrible and obviously Rameses wasn’t that happy with him. With his choice of words, Michael worried about what she told him. The need to apologize to Rameses was quite overpowering. But what exactly was he supposed to say. ’I’m sorry that I did something stupid that offended Morgan and I don’t remember what it is?’ That wasn’t likely to go down well. Instead he just looked at Rameses and nodded. Then he looked over at Arraine. ”I’ll catch up with you later to see how everything’s going.” He glanced briefly at Rameses hoping he wasn’t overstepping his boundaries. He was just concerned for Arraine. He felt he had some responsibility to her considering he was the one to find her.

Leaving the two, Michael went on his way to find Morgan. Since it hadn’t been too long since Rameses ha d appeared he figured Morgan would be in his office area. He hoped she would be there anyway. The place was quite large and it might take him awhile if she wasn’t going to be where he thought she was. Going down the steps he came up to the door and knocked softly before entering. He wanted to give Morgan warning that he was coming in.

The instant he saw her he felt incredibly guilty. How was he going to explain himself? The only thing he could think of was to just tell her everything that was on his mind and suffer the consequences for his actions. ”Look, Morgan, I’m so sorry that I’ve offended you. I really don’t mean to. I never want to hurt you. You’re my best friend after all. And I know this is the worst part of this whole ordeal but I have no idea why you are mad at me so can you just tell me and then do whatever it is you see fit?” Once the words had started they just all stumbled out after each other. Michael looked at Morgan waiting for her to yell at him or get angry or something. Waiting wasn’t something he was entirely good at.
