Abort. Abort. Eject. Danger, danger, Sailor Chaonis.

The moment she said 'oh Chaonis' he felt something shift in his stomach in a way it hadn't before. Was he going to be sick? He watched her, holding his ground out of sheer pride. He had the goggles over his eyes, and they were broken, cracked and covered in filth. Not exactly good for staring someone down through.

He did see her scooting closer to him.

What was she doing? Trying to fake him out by suddenly pretending to be attracted to him? It was like the scene at the restaurant, where neither had been able to back down. He was confident and proud, and wasn't about to let her send him scarpering.

He grinned.

"I was wondering when you'd give in to your obvious obsession with me. You didn't need to hide for so long. I think it's flattering."

"How could I resist? You're just so... so..." Rosalind's mind scrambled for an appropriate word that would be fitting and not a complete lie. She happened to think up "rugged." Oh, darn-- it sounded too much like an actual compliment, as opposed to a back-handed one. The auburn-haired senshi took one of her silky gloves off and ran her bare hand through Chaonis' hair. Was she going overboard with her teasing? It didn't matter, Rosalind was playing to win. "For someone so dirty, you sure do keep your hair clean, don't you?"

Her hair cascaded down and onto his shoulders, her copper brown locks flowing on his white armor pads. "Oh, excuse me. I was violating both of our personal space bubbles, wasn't I?" Sighing, Rosalind slid her glove back on and stared into space longingly. "It's so peaceful out here..." Surely Chaonis would fold any second now.

The countdown commenced... 3... 2...

Chaonis stared at her. This was as certainly a trap as his hair was frosted, but he couldn't back down now. His pride flare. And, for some reason, a spark of adrenaline coursed through him suddenly. It was like standing at the edge of a building one story taller than what he knew he could fall from and survive. Like leaping into a battle he had no way of winning.

Something about this whole thing was dangerous.

And he liked it.

He listened to her words by letting them slip into his ears, bounce around his head, then slip right back out. He held on to nothing of the words themselves, his focus on her face, her tone, her body language. She was a devious challenger, and she thought she had figured him out by now. He could see in her that she was underestimating him, complacent in her assumptions.

Chaonis was never one to let someone else assume anything of him. Expect anything of him. He prided himself on being unpredictable, unreliable. If he kept on his toes, he never had to be expected to do anything, he never had to listen to anyone, and never had to let someone down. Likewise, he never had to prove someone right.

He grinned at her, his eyes speaking for him. I'll show you violating personal space. Then he moved, shutting his eyes tightly as if he expected to explode upon contact, his lips crashing against hers on impulse. It was the best and worst he could think to do: and he never backed down from danger.

This was definitely dangerous.

Ack! The plan backfired! Had she really thought everything through? Rosalind wanted to seduce him, to show that she was always the one in charge, that she was the top dog-- the head b***h in charge. But when his lips were thrown upon her own supple lips, Rosalind felt something. Well, it wasn't bad, but it was... unexpected? For a very brief, brief moment, Rosalind allowed herself to indulge in the kiss and closed her eyes.

This lasted for about two seconds before she actually thought about what was going on. Chaonis, of all people, was in her face! And he was kissing her! "W-what are you doing?!" She picked herself up dramatically, covering her lips, looking Chaonis in the eyes. "I... I mean, I don't blame you or anything, but... but...." Rosalind stared up at the blue planet above them once more, as if she'd rather be there than on her own moon. Daintily clearing her throat, Rosalind turned her back to the Soldier of Danger.

"Well. It's getting late... I think? I mean, it's hard to tell in outer space. It's always night, right? Oh, look at me, going on and on-- what I mean to say is that I need to get home. Like, right now. As in with or without you." She could no longer look him in the eyes. She was looking at her golden pumps, clicking them on the pavement nervously.

Chaonis had won.

Chaonis looked at her as she pulled away from him, making a face for half a second that didn't seem to fit with him. He was vaguely confused, his head filled with a thick haze and a strange, low burning coiled through his veins. His expression was blank, mouth hanging slightly open, eyes watching her dumbly as she moved away.

He shook his head, though, and the ever present grin, the one that he simply could not get through his day without, restored itself to his face. His lips coiled back over his teeth, parting to bear them in a forceful sneer as he crossed his arms over his chest.

Letting her stammer was so much better than interrupting with any of his quips. He basked in it as he found himself curling the middle of his lip a bit and finding the taste of her lipstick lingering there. It took him out of his gloating for a moment.

"Sure, home. Yeah. I better go back too. As much fun as it would be to stay here with your room of boobs and broken floors." He cleared his throat, pulling the goggles from his head and letting them fall to the floor. His eyes trailed on them, watching them fall, a distant air moving over and past him, like a gust of wind in this dead place.

"Let's go," he said, still not throwing any insults at her. Not direct ones, anyway. If she didn't bring it up, he certainly wasn't. Act like everything was cool. And it was, wasn't it? Just a dare he had given himself, a jump he had taken and, as far as he could tell, landed. He would survive, and move on to some new game and jest. Just like with the restaurant and the party and everything else, right?

Maybe. No, of course. Right?

Pulling her minty green phone out, Rosalind clicked their destination back in, and with another blast of ethereal light, the two found themselves in the library. It was quiet, even for a boring place filled with dusty old books. She didn't care, though, because her mind was focused on the situation at hand: the kiss. The kiss, the kiss, the kiss-- although it wasn't her first (that award, unfortunately, went to Perseus during their spar for the leadership role of Vogue), it was certainly... the best? She hadn't really acknowledged it yet. Rosalind didn't even allow herself to think it over while in the presence of Chaonis, as if he'd be able to read her thoughts. No, she'd maintain her elegant demeanor and be a lady before him.

"I'm going behind that aisle of books to undo my sailor glamor. Please don't look." She traipsed off, her heels clacking along the solid floors of the sprawling library. All the while, it felt as though she was still in the moment of being kissed-- would it ever go away? She felt damaged! What had he done to her?! After the process of powering down, Elegancia made her way back to Chaonis, who had also transformed back into a civilian. "Uhm. Well. I suppose we'll see eachother around?"

She would've curtsied or something, but Elegancia was focused on getting out of there and back home, where she was safe to think whatever she wanted. "Anyway. Uh. Foochie's waiting for me at home, so I must get going... Bye?"

For once, as she left, Elegancia wondered what Nathan was going to be doing-- and she didn't wish any harm upon him! Strange indeed.

Chaonis looked around once they were back in the library. He was relieved, in a way, but he still felt a jolt of electricity moving through him. It burned under his skin, and he rubbed one arm and then the other, then folded his arms over his chest in an effort to contain himself.

He wasn't thinking about what had happened on the planet, his mind mostly blank. It was just the way he rolled. Once he was laying down for the night it would all hit him, he'd think about it for a few minutes and then, blissfully, escape any duty or responsibility by falling to sleep. By morning, nothing mattered any more.

At least, that was how it usually worked.

Scoffing, he waved his hand and let her go, taking the moment to power down as well. When she returned, he nodded his head and grinned at her.

"Yeah, I'm sure we'll bump into each other again," he said, letting her walk away. His expression shifted thoughtfully once she was gone, and his hand moved to scratch at the back of his neck. He shook his head, shoving his hands into his pockets and making his way out of the library, making sure everything was how it was supposed to be before making his way back to his home.

He told himself he wasn't thinking about anything, but he was. He could already see that he couldn't keep his mind blank.
