Wondering what she had asked the dragon, Athena flew over to the recent ghostling who confronted the legend. Maybe if they figured out why he was doing this, they could figure out a way to stop it... if it was really bad.
------------------------------------
Sighing, she knelt down and tried helping the recent mayor/ghostling search for his valuables. They were wasting time, but there was no way to talk to him otherwise. Maybe if she helped him find some things, he would possibly be more willing to listen to her.

Valkon continued smashing residence by residence, small or large homes alike. At one some people had run leaving the dog still chained outside. The dragon shook his head. Of course some only thought of themselves. Reaching down carefully, the dragon snapped the chain allowing the dog its freedom.
The canine stared for a moment, then licked Valkon's foot before sniffing around. A few excited barks and he was running, following the trail of his family.
The dragon growled deep in his throat. That family did not deserve such loyalty. Not at all. Turning he took great delight in smashing their house as flat as he could make it. There would be nothing to return to for them. Perhaps he would look for them later and punish them for their neglect of the dog.
He moved forwards but stopped when he noticed a ghostling ahead of him. Staring at her as if waiting, Valkon remained unmoving.
Touma had noticed Valkon and the ghostling. He reappeared next to the dragon. Valkon glanced over at him nodding towards her. "He wants to know what you want. He has things to do."

Maybelle looked at the dragon and summoned all the courage she had. She buried her face in the Fox Lores fur, took a deep breath, and looked at the dragon again.
"Are....are you chacing the people away because of the animals? Are you trying to help them?"
Maybelle looked at the fox lore in her arms. "I was a human once, but I loved animals and care about them as much as you. I understand if you are doing it for them and I understand if some of these humans have to die because of what they did to them." Maybelle looked at the dragon with fire in her eyes. "If you are protecting them, can I join you? I want to get rid of them as much as you do now."
Maybelle looked at the fox lore in her arms and wanted to protect the creature she had in her arms as much as any other.
((I hope that's alright.))

(( It's alright, Chibi. You did hit the same number so you have a chance at a ghostling. You can roll to capture it, but you cannot pick which one until after AV decides because their roll was first. If one is captured on AV's roll, AV gets first choice. ))

Valkon nodded to Touma to stand by. Instead of continuing, he shifted shape. This was why it was all being done. To make someone ask questions.
"Is that what you think is happening? That it is simply for the animals?" Valkon asked as he watched her closely. She and the lore were both new and he could see it.
"It is not for the animals alone. I love the creatures, both large and small. They come to me for protection because they know what I have become and that there is safety in my arms. But this matter..." he indicated the destruction. "It is for the ghostlings and the living. And for others yet unseen. The living have gotten so caught up in themselves that they have forgotten what is important. When we came back two years ago after being banished, the festival still mostly honored the goddesses even though the merchants sold their trinkets on the square. The festivals have been distorted, become about greed and how much money can be made. The prestige is all to some. They have forgotten and neglected the true reason there were festivals.
He folded his arms, after tipping his hat back a bit more, eyeing the others that had come up. "What do you remember of them? Buying and selling? Dazzled by what was there? Do you remember the reason for them? Did anyone even tell the crowds gathering around what the festivals were for?
"I will admit it. I am evil. The pleasure of tearing it down around them. Evil is only one half and it is merely a point of view. To the living, I am evil. To some ghostlings I am evil. To the animals and certain others, I am protector, father, brother."
"This is about punishment for the greedy, the faithless, the neglectful, the arrogant." He glanced towards the church of the goddesses first and then to the newer church. "Can you tell me what you know of either faith? Can you tell me which is the true church and which is not? I know, but do you? Do they?" He indicated the people in the distance still trying to pack belongings before running away.
"There will only be ruins left by the time I am finished. It will be a place where only the rarest of us will come to visit. And those faithful who do seek answers here will be well rewarded. Those that have died have only their own foolishness to blame for gathering their trinkets or staying too long where they should not have."
Touma stood at Valkon's side as the legend shifted back to dragon. Then the beast moved away to begin smashing the next building. "All you can do here is help those living by getting them to leave. This place is no longer for them. It has become a warning to look for what is honest and truthful and remain away from that which is false. Only three places stand safe here and will always be. Look at what he has not destroyed and you will have the answer."
The nightwhisper vanished suddenly to move into a tree nearer Valkon. He was entirely unseen now by his choice. They had been told, but what they did now was their choice. The goddesses had not been mentioned at all yet. But Touma was somehow sure that the goddesses would speak for themselves when the time was right.

Sarah had always felt there was more to Priyal than what could be seen. Sometimes she thought she caught glimpses of things that weren't really there. She never bothered to mention it anyone though. Some of the townsfolk believed in an afterlife, most that Sarah knew, did not. That belief enhanced the idea that the souls of the sailors blamed her for their downfall and kept her running to escape the imagined horde of angry ghosts . If only she'd gone for help when Winchester told her to. Sarah continued running blindly, swatting at things she couldn't see, stumbling over debris and veering in other directions when she saw a torn body in her path until she encountered a wall that was still standing. Running headlong into the unforgiving wall, Sarah fell back and lay stunned for several moments. As her head cleared, she found herself outside a church. Sarah could tell by the clean well tended walls that was the new church. She'd never been here, but she was sure no one seeking shelter would be turned away. Sarah scrambled to her feet, found the front steps and struggled to open the heavy door. ________________________ It frustrated Winchester that he could do nothing to hurt the dragon like the beast had hurt him. It irked him even more that dragon seemed to ignore him as insignificant. When the dragon settled to take a nap in the park, Winchester became more aware of the destruction around him. While he had been single-mindedly trying to get revenge, the dragon had continued to lay waste to the town. As a variety of animals gathered around the sleeping dragon, Winchester began to question his ideas of what was right and wrong. After all, this wasn't his town. He was only a visitor, led here by chance because his captain's ship needed repairs. Maybe there had been something in this town that need to be destroyed. Now that he thought about it, the dragon hadn't actually anyone. He just seemed intent on destroying the buildings. Winchester continued pondering the sense of it all while the dragon slept. The ghostling noted the different animals, even the ones that would be prey and preyed upon when they returned to the forest, lying together in harmony. A white-winged charm dragon floated down from a tree to pet one of the rabbits. Curious, Winchester drifted closer. He could hear some of what the charm dragon whispered to the rabbit, but much of what the white-winged one said didn't make immediate sense to Winchester. He did understand the impact of god and goddesses though. If the dragon was a god, Winchester was surprised that the creature hadn't vaporized a mere ghostling that was obviously defying him. The dragon's nap ended and he was up and continuing his destruction. Winchester followed. Now that he understood there was nothing he could do, he was curious as to where this path of destruction was leading. When a small green ghostling confronted the dragon, Winchester wasn't surprised when the beast simply pushed her out of the way. If the god hadn't punished him for throwing fireballs at him, a little slap on the nose wouldn't warrant anything dire.

((I'll try for Opal, since the Mayor will probably shun me off again, LOL))
Waiting and watching, Athena listened closely to what the legend said, starting to understand a bit more. It was not out of spite, but a lesson to be taught, for those who had forgotten.
She commended the young oversoul for her bravery, in doing what should of been done in the first place. Then, probably, less lives would of been lost and havoc to a minimum, but.. probably, it was still yet necessary, as many still seemed lost to their worldy possessions.
Deciding to do what the legend had suggested, she prepared to warn the dew who were smart enough to evade destruction, to warn them before it was too late. Sending her bird out, she turned towards the ghostling who had first addressed the dragon.
"What dost thou planneth to do now? Thy dragon hast said his reply. There is nothing much to be done than to warn thy faithful and innocent. Shall ye come with me?"
------------------------------------
Feeling she was getting nowhere, she decided it would be best to leave the mayor for now and look for Athena. She would come back and try to coax the ghostling to come with her, but for now, it was a fruitless attempt.

((Pshaw, let's try that again.))
Impatiently awaiting the ghostling's reply, she stopped herself from grabbing onto her arm and dragging her along. She didn't have all day! Would this ghostling help her or not?
She tried asking again, wondering the the ghostling was still stunned from her encounter with the legend.
"Will thou come-th with me to warn thy humans?"

Bishop Arthurs was debating whether to close the doors entirely or not when he noted the girl entering the church. The dragon was still destroying things. Several others had come in a side door not long before she had gotten there.
"Do not worry, child." he stated gently. "That dragon would not dare to enter this holy place. Come. Rest awhile."
For all intents and purposes the bishop seemed entirely safe, innocent. Appearances could be deceiving unless one looked closely at the rich furnishings of his church and himself. Few priests wore gold and ruby rings on their fingers. His words were soothing though and fooled many.
Opal simply stared at the dragon as it walked away. It had sort of answered her question, but not really. What had she done? She ignored the ghostling beside her. She was shocked and could only think that if this was punishment... what had she done?
(( OOC... don't boss fights you can't win, suck? XD And yes, I know I am evil..... I freely admit it. But that is what has made this entire plot so interesting. Don't give up now. There is still more to come. Your target has simply changed.
Trying to figure out what to do? *coughhintcough* There are 3 safe places, what are the people thinking there? How much do they know? What are they planning? And where is everyone going to go after this is over? Such things would be going through their heads. ))

Errdii slithered through the destruction, sliding past the dead bodies. The warmth of the freshly dead was inviting to her. Pausing by the ones still warm, her beautiful tail caressed their flesh in a sensual way. The warmth left the dead quickly and Errdii never lingered by any for very long. "Stop that!" her other self whispered harshly. "Stop what?" she asked innocently. "Stop touching them.""Why? I like touching them." "It's not right. Just leave them in peace.""But I like their warmth. It's not like they need it anymore." "Stop thinking of yourself. Look, there are new ghostlings, lead them away from this destruction. If they linger here, they may never move on."Errdii sighed. She knew her other self would not stop nagging in this subject. The basilisk reluctantly slithered past still warm dead bodies and approached several new ghostlings, beckoning them to follow her. Errdii didn't bother to hide her amusement at the Spectral trying to gather cold lifeless things. Another ghosling, a pretty poltergeist seemed lost and had many questions that Errdii couldn't answer. The lantern lore seemed to follow, then got distracted and hesitated. Errdii didn't bother to wait and see who followed. The basilisk noticed that many were gathering in the park. Some of the animals lingered, but most had left once the safety of the dragon had moved on. Errdii wondered if those milling around the park would notice if she touched them as she passed by. "Stop that.""What? I haven't done anything!.""I know what you're thinking."

Gya still looked at the mayor and realized what Maybelle has done. She maybe young but wise beyond her years he thought.
Gya went to the Mayor to warn him. "If you have lost sight of what is important to you that you care about little trinkets, then you do deserve whatever faith may befall you. But it isnt too late." Gya held out his hand for the mayor. "Come."

((ONE DAY THEY SHALL LISTEN, lol))
Nodding towards the young oversoul who joined her, she stretched out her wings and flew up high, surveying around her. The fools. There were still some humans remaining, some who were fleeing, yet many still lingered behind packing their belongings. What good were those if they were deceased?
Flying back down, she motioned to the oversoul and her fox spirit.
"It-th may not be too late for these foolish beings. I feel there art some yet worth saving. Not all thy humans are wicked, I believe."

Looking around everywhere, Sally sighed, dejected. Where was Athena? She spotted a ghostling hovering around, seeming to have a stunned expression on her face.
Floating over to her, Sally waved a hand over her face. Another victim? She looked at her nervously, twiddling her thumbs.
"Ah, um, are you alright? You look quite shocked... what happened?"

(( LOL You would think they would.... They are being soooo stubborn... ))
The mayor continued digging out his treasures from the rubble. He had a pile stacked up to the side. But as the dragon worked its way around the area and residences, the ground shook causing them to fall over. One or two broke, but the ironic point made by such was lost on the Mayor. Thimbleditz could only see his own needs and greed was firmly entrenched within him.
He stared at Gya's hand. "So, your hand is empty. Fill it by helping me."
Opal stared still in shock as Sally spoke to her. "I... Was I really that bad a person? I took care of my house. I helped my neighbors. Yes, I liked nice things. Who does not? I don't understand. What did I do?"
She was totally disoriented by the events of the last hour or so. Her eyes turned towards the dragon.
Valkon was still smashing houses and it was obvious he was enjoying himself, but he was being careful in some places also. Children he stepped over gingerly making sure not to step on them. As he worked his way around, the houses became fewer and fewer. One or two he left standing simply for those who might need some place to hide if they were brave enough to come here in the future. But he had no doubts if they were faithful to either goddess, they would find what they sought and live in harmony with the rest.
(( Valkon has pretty much smashed all the residences by this point. He has one more post. Do what you need or want to. I won't post it until tomorrow sometime. The three ghostlings are available to win until that last post. I will check for wins. Just keep going as you have been whether with one dice or two.
Cricket is going after the purple lore, Chibi is after the mayor, and AV is after Opal. Of course, if anyone else pops in, I'll add another ghostling to the pot. Good luck everyone. All numbers ending in 5, 6, 7 are good, I 'm returning the others removed. ))

Errdii slowly snaked her way through the crowd milling around the park. The animals that lingered avoided the basilisk's hypnotic gaze. They knew in another place and time, they might be the serpent's next meal. Despite the safety they felt in the park, they weren't taking chances. The animals moved out of the path of the basilisk when they saw her coming. Errdii was aware of the animals avoiding her. It amused her since she wasn't hungry at the moment. She'd sampled enough human flesh to be satisfied for the time being. And despite her nonchalant attitude, she was very observant. Errdii had seen the shape changing of the dragon and had noted the attraction of the animals to the creature. She knew it might not be healthy for her to dine on any of the animals in the immediate area. Errdii wound her way to a close group of survivors that seemed to be having an animated conversation. Just want she needed, warm bodies huddled together, having a heated discussion. They would be wrapped up their conversation, generating heat and not paying any attention to the ghostling sliding around them, barely touching them. "You're enjoying this way too much." whispered her other self. "Yessssss. And nothing you can say will stop me," she whispered back.
