  X{♪} Defence is paramount " Really? I had expected you to dodge those at least!" Mariya shouted over as some of her fields hit their mark. Not that she had long to slag Tenshi off. He was already charging in for the next attack, a frontal assault again? Not likely... However, what direction would he be coming in from? She couldn't be sure. The projectiles that were littered in the ground behind Tenshi shattered out of existence to free up some more creation space for her. She had to concentrate on his attack. No, it was a frontal assault, No wait! Tenshi flashed out of view, Mariya responded out of instinct like an armadillo rolling into a ball and raised a body shield. It wouldn't deflect an attack, but it could soften a blow.The opaque black surface from before coated her body like armour. It gave her a smooth smokey-grey glass like appearance, sticking to every curve she owned as she braced for the sword strike. They connected, catching her several times in the lower back. They hadn't went deep, maybe a centimeter or so thanks to her shield, but damn they hurt! The cracks radiated from the points of contact like silvery tendrils over her rear and back, small droplets of blood leaking from the hole punctured in the centre. " Derʹmo!" She yelped as she jumped away from the blades. the armour had done it's job, and although it increased her defences 10fold if she had time to concentrate on it, this time she didn't It was thin brittle, and due to it's forced covering it was also cutting off her air... She turned to face her Tenshi, getting into a stance to ready her for another attack her sleek glass-like form shimmering in the artificial lights. but it didn't hold long and after a few more seconds it cracked and burst into sparks before disappearing altogether. What she really needed more room, easily done too... Using a few well placed flat screen barriers Mariya jumped backwards away from Tenshi into the air, using them like steps to support her towards the ceiling. It wouldn't end there though, each step she left behind fired towards her opponent like a buzz saw let loose through the air. That was sure to give Tenshi a distraction till she could get a better vantage point. ((Decided to start doing all Mariyas random obcenities in russian as some sort of censoring thought. also, it adds to the character, and it's fun! biggrin ))

 Tenshi noted her reaction to his sudden jump from frontal assault to a more off-sides attack, seeing her raise another shield on her body, looking like shimmering, glassy armor, just before his blades struck.
Unlike the first shield, which had blocked his initial front blow completely, some of his jabs got through and connected with her lower back, cracking through the body shield a little as well.
The slight smell of blood hit his nose as it started to ooze from her wounds in small droplets.
She yelled out something in Russian, jumping away and turning to face him again, as he got into a defensive stance, anticipating another counter attack as her shield broke apart into a small shower of sparks before fading away completely.
He was quite surprised when she started to jump back and away from him, using her shape-changing bubble-field magic or whatever it was, to form steps that went upwards towards the ceiling.
Tenshi was about to make a remark about her being too scared to strike back, when he saw the 'steps' she made shoot right at him as she jumped from one to the next.
" Grea' bloody blue bollocks!" he exclaimed, raising his swords up as he ran towards the 'steps' zooming at him, deciding now was a good time to use his reflexes.
Jumping into the air, he flipped over the first 'step' as it passed under him, his raised swords parrying the others as he was pushed back slightly.
They hit pretty hard, it was probably a good thing Tatsuya and Tetsuya were able to survive a great many hits, magical or physical, they weren't so easily breakable.
" Oi! Since when did dis turn inta a battle o' th' 'eights?" he called up to Mariya, figuring she was most likely trying to get more height to try to get an advantage over him, well, not if he could help it!
Turning towards one of the adjacent facing walls, he dashed towards it, and, when it looked like he was about to run smack right into it, he utilized the buildup of momentum from his sprint and started running up the wall, quite literally.
For someone of the modern world, it definitely looked like something out of an action or Karate Kid-type movie, as Tenshi ran up the wall and onto the ceiling, his speed being the only thing keeping him up there, if he stopped, he would most definitely fall, and he only had so much energy to keep this up.
Deciding to press on, he dashed towards Mariya again, this time, with both his blades crossed in front of him, meaning for it to be more of a push than an actual attack, to try to bring her back down to the ground, even though it looked a bit strange, since she was upside-down from his vantage on the ceiling, but he wasn't about to let that oddity distract him as he braced himself for either impact or a counter move.

X{♪} Wall running? certainly a skill that defied all laws of physics, but then again Mariya herself was conjuring solid 'air' so she couldn't really say anything. what she could say though was... " Woops~!" she said teasingly as the platform she was standing on dropped diagonally under Tenshi. Really, he didn't expect her to just stand there did he? She could see his charge coming all the way from the floor! Plenty of time to avoid... " Please Doggy is that all you have? Hahaha!" She shouted with another teasing remark. While Tenshi was certainly quick, all Mariya had to do was keep her distance and things would be fine, well so far. But, that was boring, and it wasn't very good exercise either. Her platform fell towards the ground, slowing a little to take any force out of the landing before it shattered and disappear. If Tenshi was going to keep at it with the swords, the she could join him... Following a few subtle finger twitches, a flat solid shape formed above each of her hands, lengthening out to form a glass like serrated tonfa looking constructions. The blades ran down her arms and just past her elbows, the other side of the blades going half a foot or so or so out from the handle. How would Tenshi handle this? Mariya was sure this would get some more exercise, and not to mention the tricks she could use short range... " Enough running around. Let's give this another go Comrade!" Mariya shouted from the ground as she danced around on her feet like a boxer waiting for an opening.

Tenshi was slightly surprised when the platform Mariya stood on suddenly dropped to the ground again, even though he had known she wouldn't merely just stand around for him to hit her, idleness was not in the 'big book of warrior practices', after all.
His ears flicked about as she called up another teasing remark to him, and a look of mock irritation crossed his face, " Oi, I ain' no 'doggy', a bleedin' wolf is wot I is! I've done a grea' many thins' t' earn dis title, an' I deserve t' be called such!" he shouted back to her, snickering a little to himself.
As her platform slowed, shattering and fading away as it hit the ground, she made a few more finger movements, this time, making them stretch out to form glassy looking swords, now sword fighting was more his area of expertise, he really couldn't get a lot of this magic nonsense.
A smirk crossed his face as she called up to him, saying enough running around, and to give it another go, dancing around on the ground, anticipating the next attack.
" Abou' damn time, eh?" he called back to her with a wide grin on his face, and, using the buildup of speed he'd gained from his trip up the wall to the ceiling, he angled himself towards her, and kicked off from his position.
The result was him shooting off from the ceiling like a rocket, his swords angled in front of him as he prepared for a two-strike attack.
He had Tetsuya swing downward like a cleaver for a strong head-on strike, while Tatsuya swung in from a different angle and direction, Tenshi activating its electrical powers in mid-swing as he did.
This was his hypothesis: He was anticipating Mariya to block his frontal attack, and, if circumstances proved an opportunity, if she used both swords to block that hit, then his other incoming attack would make a hit as planned.
And, with the speed he was coming at her, and the added force to the main strike, she would either have to react quickly to block both strikes, or block one hit and take the other.
Though, he thought, even if she did succeed in blocking both hits, maybe Tatsuya's lightning would jump and shock her, though he didn't know if that would work either, but, ah screw it, he was going to see if this worked, by Jove!
