A tribal-like marking in the shape of a dove wrapped around Valkon's finger than settled on the back of his hand. Nothing permanent, but it was obviously halting the time warp. (( Insert joke here))

Zion, as soon as Valkon moved his hand, climbed onto Chronos' massive hand. Than, with a few nudges from Chronos' nose, proceeded to climb until he was resting just above the elbow.
"I know he won't..." He looked back at Valkon as he spoke. "I think you should follow too... He won't hurt you."

As soon as Zion was seated and secure Chronos rose to his feet, towering once again above his friend. Before turning around he snorted at Valkon. More of a 'mine' than a threatening gesture. His attention immediately went back to the time frozen woman on the floor. The room trembled as he moved forward on his hind legs. Only a short distance away the three watches and the cloth lay on the ground amongst the torn shreds of Chronos' armor and clothing.

Valkon studied the tattoo for a moment. Such a simple thing and it helped immensely. He could already feel the effects around him diminishing. The time warp seemed to be some dance that only Chronos could do. He would watch instead. It was safer. (( Joke Inserted ))

"Alright, Zion. I'll follow. He needs to do whatever it is before she can move again. Or it's going to make him worse not better. You will have to watch so you can get out of the way if needed." Valkon replied, simply watching Chronos' actions. He understood all too well that Chronos was merely being a protective father. He had not changed until she threatened Zion. To do so would flare the beast up in any parent. Although in Chronos' case it had literally turned him into a monster.

He was tempted to pick up the watches and cloth from Watcher, but instead followed behind. If Chronos needed them, the last thing he wanted to do was interfer. He'd need some new clothing also when he finally regained his own shape.

Zion tried to hide further into Chronos' fur when they neared the time frozen woman on the floor. He wasn't even sure where this deep rooted fear came from, all he knew was she scared him. Luckily his father's monstrous form had an abundance of fur to hide in and he felt very secure in the fact she wouldn't be able to scale up the arm to reach him. Anyone would be crazy to.

Chronos' body twisted as he reached back to fetch one of the watches. His tail flickered maintaining his balance before he returned to his normal posture. Now with the watch in hand his focus returned to his original prey. His hand hand caged over the woman, the watch falling onto her as his hand turned downward. All of the time abnormality in the room swirled than begun to gather under his hand in a strange purple and blue light. The glow was so intense that whatever was going on under his hand was non-visible to even Zion, who was watching with great interest in the glow.

A beastly grin formed on Chronos' maw as he raised his hand a moment later to reveal the woman was gone. Only the watch, which had changed in shape and pattern, remained. Perhaps a familiar trick for Valkon.

Valkon watched closely as Chronos moved, knowing what he was doing. At least he seemed to know and was acting on it. Something seemed familiar about his actions.

He glanced towards Zion who had moved closer to his father. There was a dislike of this woman whomever she was. Hopefully Chronos would be able to explain it afterwards. Whenever he managed to pull himself back to himself. Well, at least the one Valkon knew.

The yokai could not see what Chronos was doing entirely. Whatever it was, the watch was the key to it. But when Chronos grinned and revealed the watch and the disappearance of the woman, he knew. Laughing Valkon nodded.

"So she's in the watch now, is she? A good place for her. She won't get free that way to threaten anyone again." He turned to watch Chronos. "Now can we have you back now?" Folding his arms, he just watched Chronos a moment. Hopefully he would not step on him. His lips twitched upwards.

"Zion, how does it feel to have your very own puppy?" Chronos would never live this down.

Chronos' ears twitched at Valkon's laugh. Slowly he looked over his shoulder at the yokai. There was no fear from this being and thus he saw him less of a threat than he had before. In fact he was becoming more familiar with Valkon's strong sent. Something that he was partially blind to before.

He turned to face Valkon fully. His upper lip curled at Valkon's comments, all of them. The last one about the 'puppy' made him snort-growl. Again, non aggressively. More or an intimidation move if anything. The noise also could have been compared to a beastly laugh.

The arm Zion had been sitting on moved letting Zion know he should move now. And he did, promptly making his way across the arm. Zion stopped on the wrist as Chronos lowered his head, hugged the bridge of Chronos' nose as best he could before continuing to the upturned palm.

"I like it!" He called with much amusement from behind one of the towering fingers. "I never need to ask for one!" Not that he ever would have.... He already had a glow worm, somewhere in the castle.

The ground vibrated as Chronos dropped one hand to the floor and extended the other, containing his son, toward Valkon. The back of the hand rest gently on the ground once it was only feet away from the yokai. This was obviously so that Zion would be able to safely jump off with help should he need it.

(( LOL sorry, couldn't help myself. Just occurred to me that others might have felt the castle shaking cause of Chronos. *smirks* ))

Valkon folded his arms watching Chronos. He laughed again suddenly. "Hey, Chronos, you are still a fox. A werefox, but a fox." It was a private joke between them and probably one of the things that had drawn them closer. They both had been amused by Valkon's words that first day.

"So what do you think, Zion? Keep daddy around for a pet? Or would you prefer him back as he was?" Valkon asked, further amusement crossing his expression. "I think he's rather cute."

He moved forwards, holding his hand out to help Zion from his father's hand. Chronos really did not bother him in this form, but he would have to gain control over it. This time distortion stuff was not fun. "You know, Chronos, you are going to have to practice using this shape. The more control over it, the better it will be. You had me worried for a bit whether you would calm down or not."

Then his eyes narrowed glancing around the room. "I could have sworn I heard Watcher's voice a few times." He would have to look into that and...

"Dad! Dad!" a voice said as footsteps were heard running down the hallway.

"DAD!"

His train of thought was broken as Hawke came rushing into the room. Valkon sighed. At least he had not come running into the room in the middle of everything.

"Dad! Did you feel it? The whole castle was shaking and..." He blinked staring at Chronos. "Whoa! What is that?" Corviy was sitting on his shoulder and the worm was on the other.

Valkon laughed again, shaking his head. "I'll tell you later. Your Uncle Chronos is having a bad hair day. Go back to your room. It's over now."

"Bad hair day?" he blinked again, shaking his head. Then he grinned. "But it's more fun in here than out there."

"Go. Now." Valkon stated firmly. His eyes narrowed as he watched his son. This one was his to protect and make behave.

Zion lept from Chronos' hand, using Valkon's hand as a guide. "He's still my Da. Just with more fur... I need to remember to make a good brush."

His tail playfully flicked around as Hawk entered the room. "Hawke! Look! My Da can be a puppy too!"

The excitement melted away as Hawke was told to leave the room. His tail even flopped to the floor. It was understandable, but Hawke was fun.
"Awwwa, please can Hawke stay?"

Once Zion was out of his hand Chronos moved his hand back to his side. He could feel the affects wearing off. That or he was getting very hungry. In any case he felt worn out.

He watched lazily as Hawke entered the room. Another familiar sent and not even deserving of a warning growl. Whatever they were saying went completely ignored. A wide yawn left his maw before his form again begun to change, shrink, and return to what it was before. This time a light glow engulfed him making any details of the change censored from view. When the glow cleared Chronos was his old self once again, save for slightly longer horns, slightly glowing eyes, and his pupils were now slits.

"....you make it look so easy my friend...." He tiredly chuckled as he looked over his shoulder. Chronos was quick to make sure no harm had come to his friend. The details of what had happened were still a bit... fuzzy.

".... I should have to speak with you at some point about this." He looked as drained as he sounded. Ears were lowered, tail was limp, he even completely disregarded his lack of clothing. A scythe was created from a strand of his hair as a 'crutch' for him to lean on.

Finally Valkon nodded when Zion asked if Hawke could stay. "He can stay. Just behave yourselves." Reaching down he picked up the other two watches and the scrap of fabric. He glanced at them and then at Chronos who was changing.

"Yay! I get to stay!" He moved towards Zion with a grin on his face. "And that's cool. We can go for rides on Uncle Chronos too." Corviy clung to him as the worm curled into Hawke's clothing.

"So why was Uncle Chronos like that?" Hawke asked. "Is is something new he learned, Zion?"

"It's not easy in the beginning, my friend. I was hoping that you'd be able to get yourself out of it. I wasn't sure how I was going to help you with that." Valkon stated, still holding the items. "I'd hand these back to you and say to stick them in your pocket, but you don't seem to have any."

He grinned, shaking his head. "The first few times will be tiring though. And we can talk later about that. You are going to need some rest. But you know I have to ask." Valkon glanced over at the two boys and moved further to the side. "Who was she? I've never seen you so angry before. And Zion was scared out of his wits. The way he was clutching my tails, I was certain he would be stuck there. It doesn't have to be now. You are tired and... " He glanced indicating the boys, "but we should talk soon. And we might want to think of a way it does not affect me. You turned me back to a living boy, Chronos."

"He saw the devil woman." Zion whispered over to Hawke in response. "Than he got really mad and turned into a dog...."

It was at that point Zion wondered if everyone turned into dogs when they got that mad. Somehow it didn't seem right, but the thought was amusing enough. Valkon already turned into dogs and other animals, and he didn't have to be angry.

".......I could not control myself. All I could think of was protecting my son. If one could call it thought. " He shook his head. Valkon probably knew what he had gone though. The animal expert who could turn into any animal.

"I will get started on your watch after a rest... I will retrieve them from you than as well." Right, his clothing was in nice scraps on the floor. Without the abundance of fur it actually was quite drafty up on this floor. Conveniently there was a scrap large enough to warp around his waist not far off. It was a struggle to retrieve with torn sash, but he managed to accomplish it without falling over.

"Her?..." Chronos chuckled as he looked at the watch containing her very being. "A loose end from my life. A long story for another time..."

Hawke's eyes got large as he listened. "Wow... I'd like to have seen that. I wasn't sure what was going on when the castle started shaking. It must have been Uncle Chronos. He sure was big."

"Devil woman....? Scaaary...." Hawke stated with a shudder. "She's... gone isn't she?" Of course she was. Uncle Chronos and his Dad would have scared her away. Still he glanced around at the shadows for a moment.

"Oh... look at this!" he suddenly said as if he had a secret to share with Zion. Three orbs of shadow appeared in his hand and he began to juggle them. "I've been practicing and now I can do three."

Valkon nodded but then shook his head watching Chronos. He was worn out. "It is like that sometimes. You just have to remember you are NOT that creature even though the instincts press in upon you. I figured it was for Zion's protection. Get some rest. I'll be around if you need me. And, I'll be expecting to hear that long story at some point."

"Hawke." he called. "Chronos needs some rest. Let's go. Zion, take care of your dad." He pushed the watches into his pocket with the scrap of fabric. Chronos would deal with those later and perhaps tell him while doing so.

"Alright, Dad." Hawke replied, letting the orbs slip away. "Later, Zion. I'll show you more." He wanted to tell him about the bracelet but had not had time to so yet. "I hope you feel better, Uncle."

"Yeah, he almost made the ceiling come down on Uncle." He pointed to the large fragments on the floor the raised his finger to the ceiling where chunks of rock were missing.

"Woa! Three now? I wonder if you can do a hundred sometime." Zion watched the shadows in fascination.

His oogling was cut off as Valkon gave him 'marching orders' to watch over his father. "Yes uncle." He nodded than rushed back to Chronos' side. He wouldn't be able to prop him up, but he could make sure he was comfortable.

".... Easier said than done I am sure.." Chronos was very curious about this event, but too tired to look into it much further at the moment. With another small struggle he took the last watch in his hand. Zion hesitated to help retrieve the watch, but Chronos simply shook his head. Best he not get near it.

As the two slowly left the room Chronos gave Hawke and Valkon a thankful nod. Talking was too much at this point. Zion turned to wave to the two in his own silent gesture of thanks and good bye. He now had to look forward to being a caretaker to a sleeping legend, not that he minded a bit. He was a guardian after all.
