He never thought of himself as indecisive. He preferred cautious, an otter who liked to explore every avenue based on knowledge before he made a decision. Even as a wolf, he was still far from impulsive though decision making took on a far more calculated air and the outcomes he sought were usually different. He could make split-second decisions, had, but when it wasn't needed--as this moment seemed--he took all the time he was afforded.
As for ambition, he believed that everyone had ambition. It was simply how much they based choices on said ambition that mattered. And hadn't he already been punished? Punished for some unknown reason by some unknown culprit. He gave his head a shake, locking those thoughts up tight to brush off the ideal that nothing worse could be done to him--because he was sure something worse could come along. And it may not hurt him, which would be worse.
"The qualities of a desired apprentice would be helpful," Keiran sighed. At least then he may have some semblance of a decision.
"Affirmative," the Blue Ranger replied. He may have to be a little creative about it. For some reason the residents of the Oasis were not like Angel Grove, they often looked at him in suspicion than thanks. Not that he could blame them. However he'd made a choice when he became a ranger and that choice involved following rules. He couldn't, even if he wanted to, reveal his identity by removing his helmet and showing that he was a friendly face (except to the darker characters).

Hazel scratched one droopy jowl lazily. "Hmm... what would I want in an apprentice?" she mused thoughtfully, doing an excellent impression of having never seriously considered it, though of course she had a detailed description in her head and probably always had. You didn't get to be her age without giving these things some thought; especially when passing on her ... talents ... was so important.
"Hmm ... well, it would have to be someone bright, naturally. Curious. Someone who pays attention; wants to learn. Someone with a ..." She paused, looking thoughtful and with a hint of a smile. "Someone with a natural flair for the supernatural would be nice. A definite bonus. I'm not particular on species, though. Of course, my blood relation would likely be a bobcat, probably, but one can't afford to be picky about these things. Not these days."

Bright? Check.
Curious? Check--not to the point of blindness, nor to the point of endangerment but it was there.
Attention? Check--had the bobcat not had his (almost) undivided attention for this bizarre meeting?
Want to learn? He wasn't sure.
Supernatural flair? That he wasn't sure of either.
Keiran let out a sigh, he had to approach the elderly bobcat--preferably when she was alone. There were too many variables to determine himself as a candidate and the more he thought, the more he thought it would be too dangerous--he was not a servant (except to the moon, the moon had become his mistress and he could not deny her call). He truly only wanted leverage to keep himself and his pack safe.
He was interested on some level about what it was she did and on exploring that, but he was sure she knew what he was. And if she did, he had to make sure that his condition was safe. As a wolf he could fight his own battles but the right enemies could exploit his true self, a (weak) otter where intelligence may not mean a thing. And he would not allow that, death did not scare him (how could it) but he had Swift to consider. Perhaps more.
"That sounds doable, I suppose," he ended up saying. Although he wasn't sure such a combination existed in one being, no one sprang to mind. And yet though a list had been given, he made no motion of moving. He wondered what she saw in his eyes--did they betray him?
The blue clothed otter gave a nod once she had listed of the qualities she was looking for. He, too, could think of no particular soul that fit that list. He would look though, keep his eyes wide open to help in this endeavor. It was hard to tell exactly if he could find anyone.
"I shall seek someone that may fit your needs for an apprentice," he smiled.

Jack mentally took down the list of what she was looking for and wondered if there was just such an individual in the reserve. "This sounds very much like a challenge. I accept." he said with a smirk, tipping his hat to the old bob.
