"T-Thank ya, Lili." A smile spread across his lips as he pressed his forehead to hers. "Thank ya . . . I dun' deserve ya, y'know tha'?"

The thump of his heart was easy; neither Dread nor Trepidation hung across his shoulders like an albatross. Even the shade of the palm leaf threatened his very calmness and he moved from it in one swift movement, letting the rain dampen his hair and skin. There was a pain and terrible shiver with each cold droplet, yet he ignored it. There was some sort of, cleansing with the rain . . . like the tears of some holy embodiment wiping away his slate to reveal nothing but innocence. Was Arceus crying for the future? Just for him . . . just for what might happen in the near future?

Droplets fell like kisses to his thin lips. Yet, there was only one place those lips belonged. There was only one pair of lips those lips wanted. Sorano beckoned Lilith with a grin. There was only one more thing he asked for, ever asked for and that was his Lilith in his arms at that moment. No fear, no regret, no disgust. He simply wanted her than and there, so he would never forget the feel of her in his arms. He wanted an everlasting memory . . . something he would at least recall come his death, whenever it is.

"Hah... Are you kidding? I don't deserve you." Lilith chuckled and closed her eyes, aware of Sorano's head against hers. Her voice was slightly hushed. "I'm so happy when I'm around you."

The fall of the rain against the sea, the sand, and their small shelter mimicked the current pounding of Lilith's heart as it raced at the emotion in this moment. Her mind was completely blank; all that occupied it now was the thought of Sorano, and only Sorano. A prickling sensation in her fingers made them twitch slightly.

Sorano moved away from their protecting leaf into the cold, pure rain, leading her with a grin. Slowly, Lilith followed him out into the elements, leaning close enough to him to let their lips lightly touch. The rain against her skin burned into her, but right now, that was the last thing on her mind. All that existed was here and now, which was exactly where she wanted to be. She wrapped her arms around Sorano's neck, deepening her kiss.

Oh, Gods... What was she doing? This wasn't like her - nothing like her. Ah, but you see, this was what she wanted. This was what and where she wanted to be: in Sorano's arms, never letting go.

Here was something - one of the few somethings - that Lilith would never forget and never regret... Never as long as she lived.

The rain, like an enraged child on too much caffeine, continued to come and come. There was no sign of it letting up. The citizens on the sand were dashing about looking for shelter and an officer on the shore noticed the two and pointed a shimmering flashlight in their direction.

"Hey, you two need help?" he asked.

Sorano held her strongly, fighting the urge to let go. He broke the kiss and strained one eye at the wet slicked man a measure of feet away.

"I don' want ta leave yet." he breathed against her lips. "But it looks like we're saved, aha, Lili."

Ah great . . .

The intensity of the beam of light was strong, and when it hit Lilith's closed eyes, it made her shut them even tighter. She faintly recognized the sound of someone's voice nearby her and Sorano, but it did not completely register into her mind until Sorano pulled away from her and spoke. Lilith's eyelids fluttered open and she spoke a single word.

"...Damn."

While it was is nice that they got to be rescued from the rage of the storm, Lilith had absolutely so desire to leave Sorano's arms. Instead, she slowly stood, taking Sorano's hands in her own and pulling him up with her. A small little smile was on her face.

"Well... Shall we head home?"

"We've 'eally no choice but, I am." replied Sorano, rising to his feet. Good things certainly do not last long . . .
