"Thunderbolt again," the dark-haired grunt said. She wasn't too concerned about Zeus' current health - he was doing better than she had anticipated.

The Pikachu ceased his growling and held still, ears moving and his eyes shut tight as he ignored the calls of both women - besides absently taking note of the specified attack - and tried to hear where Byakko was coming from. When he heard her getting close he bolted to the side as fast as his paws could carry him, barely dodging her attack before he halted and another Thunderbolt surged towards the normal-type. There was no way he would be beaten by a fluffy little cutesy thing like that!

Byakko went sailing past the Pikachu as she missed, getting caught in the rear by another electric shock. "VEEE!" She shrieked, falling and tumbling head over tail in the sand until skidding to a stop.

Trembling, she started to pick herself up, mumbling weakly. She couldn't lose! If she did, then she would forever be considered a weak and useless Pokemon, and maybe then Nikki wouldn't ever have any use for her.

Nikki grimaced, seeing that Byakko was getting weak. She probably couldn't take many more hits. The Pikachu was undeniably stronger, but Byakko had insisted. "Keep going!" She told the white Pokemon, although keeping a close eye on her.

Panting lightly, the determined little Eevee sprinted forward again for another Tackle.

Zeus smirked as he heard his opponent's cry from being hit, but he was too close to avoid this next attack and he was hit squarely in the side. He tumbled sideways and rolled a foot and a half before jumping back up to his paws, growling once more.

"Quick attack," was the command this time. She was tired of him using Thunderbolt over and over again.

The Pikachu immediately darted forward, racing towards the spot where Byakko had hit him in the hopes she was still there. He peeked through one eye again and thought he saw a white blurry thing not too far off, so he barreled towards that. Hopefully it was her, and if it was, hopefully he could hit her.

Again the little white fox dodged, but she was quickly realizing that her attacks were doing very little against the much stronger Pikachu. She was going to lose at this rate, and she new it. She needed to be stronger in order to beat him. And she wanted that, she wanted to be stronger. She didn't want to be the sickly Eevee that her trainer pitied.

Byakko growled, lashing her tail as she got ready for another attack in her determination to at least go down fighting. However, before she had the chance, a beam of sunlight cut through the smog and illuminated her bright white fur. The warmth of the desert's rays soon filled her and she started to glow.

Claire waited for the little 'vee to attack first, but the sudden ray of light descending from the sky and cutting through the smog like a hot knife through butter made her pause. Her violet eyes flitted to Zeus, who looked confused and incredibly wary and suspicious. The young woman didn't know any sort of attack an Eevee could learn where a beam of sunlight came down from the sky and made it glow.

...ohhh.

"Stay," she ordered her Pikachu firmly, and he just looked at her like she was crazy, obviously confused at her behavior. Either way he obediently stayed where he was, waiting for further instructions from his trainer and very curious about what his opponent was doing.

Nikki looked on in astonishment as her Eevee started to glow. She knew right away what was happening, and it had not been something she'd expected. Especially as a cry of pain rose from the little white Pokemon. Evolution wasn't supposed to be... painful.

In alarm, Nikki quickly left her spot on the dune and ran towards where the glowing Eevee had fallen. But she was no longer an Eevee as the light faded, but instead a white Espeon. Byakko was on the ground, curled up and her eyes wrenched shut. "Eeeeon.." she wailed pitifully.

Nikki was at her side in a matter of moments, scooping up the trembling Pokemon into her arms. Byakko slowly opened her eyes and stared blankly up at her trainer. Knowing something was wrong, she passed a hand infront of the Espeon's eyes, with no response. "s**t."

When Nikki ran to her pokemon, Claire followed suit at a slower pace, and she arrived at the agent's side when her hand waved in front of the white pokemon's face. "What's wrong?" She asked quickly, frowning in confusion as she studied the Espeon in Nikki's arms. Did albino pokemon go blind when they evolved? No, they couldn't... could they? What happened? "Is she.. can she see?" Oh dear, this couldn't be good at all...

Zeus's ears twitched before he ran towards the pair of humans, still not entirely able to see so when he arrived too, he bumped into his trainer's leg. He then proceeded to rub his face into Claire's pant leg, trying to get the sand away from his eyes. She didn't seem to notice yet, too worried about Byakko.

"I don't think so," Nikki muttered, clearly perturbed by this turn of events. "It was the sunlight." Sunlight combined with happiness was what caused Eevee to evolve into Espeon after all. It simply had been too much for the albino to handle. Their eyes being extremely sensitive to light. But maybe... just maybe, it wouldn't be permanent.

"I need to get her to the infirmary." Nikki said as she rose to her feet, still carrying the Espeon. "Geot," Darkfeather called as he approached the group huddling around Byakko.

Seems that the battle had come to a rather abrupt end.

Sunlight? ..ohh. Eevee evolved into Espeon during the day, or Umbreon at night - and albinos were sensitive to sunlight. Crap... this wasn't good at all, evolutions were supposed to be positive, good events - not terrible ones that blinded the poor pokemon. She seemed to have the same thoughts as Nikki though, and decided to voice them. "Maybe it's not permanent." It could very well be temporary, and she certainly hoped so... For some reason she felt the need or desire to help, but she wasn't exactly sure what she could do. The most either of them could do was to take the blinded Espeon to the infirmary, which was obviously Nikki's top priority, so what could Claire do? Probably nothing. Crap.

Odette swooped down and landed near the group, inadvertently blowing up a bit of sand away from them. Something was wrong, she could tell, but she had no idea what.

"Maybe," was all Nikki could say on that matter. Only the doctors would be able to tell for sure. Without saying another word, Nikki climbed onto the back of her Pidgeot. Darkfeather scowling at Odette as she landed close by.

In the next moment, the black Pidgeot extended his wings and then took off into the air. Back into the direction of the HQ. Byakko needed medical attention, and if they could save her sight, then there wasn't a moment to lose.

Odette simply ignored the other bird entirely, more concerned with her human being so close to another human... but the other human was female, so it wasn't as bad as it could be.

When Nikki departed suddenly, Claire said nothing else - there was nothing else to say. She turned to Odette, pointing to the sky. The Pidgeot obliged, shooting back up into the air once more. "Alright Zeus," the grunt said as she knelt down to wipe the rest of the sand from his face. "More training. Stay in her shadow."

The Pikachu growled, flicking his ears back. He disliked ending a battle early, he much preferred to fight them to the finish, but it couldn't be helped. With a short growl he darted off over the sands, continuing the exercise that was interrupted before the agent's arrival.
