♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... After Astrayl's fight, Nephy stood up and led Anput to another fighting ring. The students here weren't as skilled, and weren't really challenging each other. It looked as if they were practicing with each other. Nephy gestured to it.
"This is the lowest-ranked arena. Beginners start learning here." With this declaration, Nephy began showing Anput some very basic moves, then had her try them, correcting her stances and encouraging her when appropriate. The period flew by and when everyone went back in to change, Anput felt as if she hadn't gotten anywhere at all.
The other girls tried to stay away from her as she changed, obviously afraid of her and her birthmark. It put Anput in a foul mood when she was back in her uniform and out in the huge courtyard for lunch. Nephy came up behind her and gripped her elbow again, grinning when Anput whirled and swore at her.
"You look like such a meek little thing, but then you turn and spit fire! Come on, you can sit with me and my friends for lunch." Nephy turned and walked briskly towards a rather large tree near the middle of the courtyard surrounded by a waist-high stone wall. With ease that Anput envied, she hopped up on the wall and scanned the area.
"Hey, Rick! Lunch is on me today, so don't stand me up!" She waved at the brunette and grinned as he lifted a hand in acknowledgement
Anput cringed at the American girl's accent and wished she could dig a hole in the ground. "Why did you do that?!" She knew she was flushing an indelicate red, and wished she could escape.
"Because it'll be more interesting if I can pick on Ricky today. He'll hang out with me because I'm one of the few girls on campus who isn't romantically interested in him, and therefore don't come with all the social baggage that comes with a girl who's trying to get him to ask her out. Make sense?" Anput shook her head, and Nephy sighed. "More of those things I'll have to tell you later, I suppose. Now, let's go get lunch, my dear!"
They went over to the cafeteria and joined the queue for lunch. Delicious smells emanated from it and Anput's stomach growled unexpectedly. The food here was definitely of a better caliber than at her old high school. Hopefully, the good stuff wouldn't run out before she had the chance to see it, as sometimes happened at Colchester High.
She needn't have worried, because it seemed the school cooks were well prepared for the appetites of growing teenagers. Nephy paid for her lunch as well as Rick's, deaf to Anput's protests, and they walked out into the courtyard together.
"Let's go sit by that big tree. ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

While sitting and looking as if he was day dreaming, Astrayl soon noticed Callirae. When he was about to stand up and walk over to her hte bell rang. "Oops" He looked at her and smiled then gestured for her to meet him outside of the boy's locker room.
As the large group of boys from all of the gym classes walked in, only a couple of the guys really stood out. Those who didn't were the usual type that come to school, do their work, talk with friends and go home. To Astrayl that seemed like a peaceful life. Unfortunately his life was a little more complicated. He is the student president of one of the most prestigious schools in the country. Each and every students is talented in their own ways. As the son of the chairman, it is Astrayl's job to make sure that events among other things go without a hitch.
As he got dressed Astrayl noticed Rick walk out of the locker room before him. Astrayl knew about Rick, popular amongst the girls, suppost to be a good fighter, all around nice guy. Another person Astrayl would like to talk to but sadly people tend to think that he never has the time to talk with people due to him being the head of the Azure Guard.
When Astrayl finished getting dressed in his Azure guard uniform, he picked up his suitcase, locked his gym locker, and left the locker room. When he got out there he noticed Callirae and smiled. "Come on, lets go to lunch, I could really go for some korean food right now."

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik was lost in thought. By the end of the period, he noticed that all but one a-hole guard was in that damn combat class. Why was everyone in the gym at the same time? To make matters worse, they all had lunch right after. This was troublesome indeed. Luckily they didn't seem to show signs of suspicion. Of course there was no way they'd be able to know at this point. He was just an average ordinary guy at school. Even if they stalked him after school they wouldn't find anything. Well, at least most of the time.
Tarik barely noticed that Nephy was talking to him about lunch. He gave her a simple wave in response. Of course he got stopped by a few people that wanted to eat with him but he had to break the bad news to them. Granted, he was revealed that he didn't have to hang out with them. He just didn't feel like dealing with anything extra today. There was already the whole new girl issue. Not that it was a bad thing: her being here. After all, he had been waiting patiently for her to come to him. Her presence just make things a lot more complicated now. Things could become hectic at any given moment; depending on what happens.
Soon he met up with the two to get his free meal. The brunette was almost positive that Nephy was up to something but he didn't really care at the moment. "Did you teach her some of those illegal ancient arts that you love so much?" he teased lightly as he sat himself at the base of the tree: his back resting against the trunk. Tarik took a bite of his food and glanced around the area before resting his eyes on the two girls again. "Oh did you find a good lab partner Anput?" It was the first time he actually said her name. He didn't feel the need to say it before. The brunette took another bite of his food before speaking again. "What other classes are you two taking?" He was keeping the conversation simple for the time being; after all, he was almost positive that Nephy would cause some kind of trouble. The only problem was that he didn't know what she was up to. He eyed her suspiciously for a brief moment before returning to his normal cheerful look. "You can't see them..."¤₪₪¤ "...but I can."

♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... Nephy ruffled Rick's hair affectionately in response to his question. "You know me, corrupting the youth of today!" Anput guessed that this was a long-running joke between them and smiled in amusement. She was quite surprised when he directed his next question at her.
"Oh. No, I didn't. She was rather unfocused on the work." Anput thought that was a nice way of putting the fact that her lab partner had been an empty-headed bimbo, and smiled politely.
"Uhm..." She fumbled in her pocket for her schedule. "Let me see... Oh, next, I have Ancient History, Art, and Magic." She laughed easily, adding, "The Magic class was something I chose for fun. It would be great to learn some card tricks, don't you think?" ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik knocked Nephy's arm away with his free hand and glared at her slightly. "Stop that you old hag," he fired back at her. Of course he didn't really care if she was in fact corrupting people: he never really liked when she ruffled his hair. Not that the action ever messed up his already unruly look. He mumbled something under his breath and took a bite of his lunch. It wasn't until Anput responded that he looked up at her.
"Ah well, you can pick a better partner a bit later in the school year," Tarik gave her an encouraging smile after he finished. It was true that she should be able to do that. By then, the girl should know enough about people in the class to pick a bit better. Of course befriending someone and talking about it before the switch is ideal; but he would never bring up the idea to partner together. If people were to hear that he offered: it would be the end of the world. Not to mention the fact that his friend, Greg, likes her and would be quite saddened by the sudden turn of events. In order to suppress a sigh, while Anput was looking for her schedule, the brunette took another bite of his food. That class seemed as complicated as the one they just came from.
"Oh, I never liked history..." Tarik commented when she read the first one. Sure he might be the Son of Anubis; but that didn't mean that he liked ancient history. Plus, there was another reason why he refused to take a class like that: it had nothing to do with the a-hole guard either. When she made a comment about magic, his eyes narrowed so slightly that you wouldn't notice unless you knew him well.
"That's cheap magic," he stated plainly. The brunette took a sip of his drink before speaking in his normal tone again. "Wouldn't you rather learn how to embrace and control real magic?" Tarik ended that part of the conversation right there while he gave her another smile. His eyes seemed to shift a bit to the purple side when he asked the question. It only lasted for a brief moment though. Now back to the dark blue color that they appeared to be most of the time. There was no way he was about to start telling her about his lovely abilities and other such nonsense: as most would call it. Of course the question was directed at her and her own powers that are just waiting to be utilized for a greater purpose; but it was asked in a lighthearted way. That way it just seemed like something anyone would want to have. After all, who wouldn't want to be able to have real magic at their beckon call?
"It looks like this is the last time we will see each other...everyday at school," Tarik commented before he glanced around the area. Soon his gaze returned to her before speaking again. "My next classes are Sign Language, Calculus and...Art." He purposely left out what kind are art. If she asked, instead of assuming it was the general one, then he would tell her. The brunette didn't really know why he didn't reveal that he was taking a cooking class. It surprised him a bit. As for the Calculus class, who cares if it was the first or second one? It wasn't a vital thing to know unless they could have been in the same class. Apparently she took a math class first period; after all, he had the last two classes with her. Then again, it was possible that she didn't have to take one this year. The senior didn't bother asking though: it didn't seem all that important.
"Soo where are you from that appears to be a better place than here?" Tarik asked in a teasing manner. Of course he was referring to her outburst in homeroom. It was apparent that she wanted to be back where she was before she moved here. A playful smirk graced his features before he took another bite of his free meal. "You can't see them..."¤₪₪¤ "...but I can."

♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... Before Anput could answer Rick, Nephy snorted into her sandwich when she heard that Anput was taking Magic. "I think that's another one of those things we need to talk about." She looked at Anput seriously and said, "This is a school for gods and goddesses. That magic class you're going to be taking isn't going to teach you cheap tricks. It's going to teach you how to control your powers as a goddess."
Anput stared dumbly at the girl. Then she looked at Rick hard, but he only shrugged. Her gaze shifted back to Nephy, this time suspicious.
"Is this your idea of a joke? Tell lies to the new girl?" This time, it was Nephy's turn to be shocked.
"No, no, I'm serious! Like, I'm the reincarnation of the goddess Nephthys, mother of Anubis, sister to Isis, and daughter of Nut and Geb."
Anput only glared at her. "Har har, how funny. You really ought to go to America and become an actress in Hollywood." She stood up, her appetite gone. Just when she thought she might be starting to fit in and make friends, something like this happened. She simply wanted to go back home to Colchester. It was where she belonged.
Nephy grabbed her hand. "Anput, wait, don't go! I'm not making jokes, honest! What about what we saw today in combat class? Rick, tell her!" Anput paused, gazing back at Rick, her heart in her throat. Was he going to make fun of her too?

The students were lively during lunch, groups were made, old friends took the time to catch up as they ate. Astrayl himself took time to go outside and enjoy his korean lunch. His lunch bag was filled with kimchi, gogui, and white rice. Before chowing down he thought about the others in the Azure guard. 'Haven't seen the siblings for awhile and I think Callirae went off to find some lunch. I hope I see her soon.' He sighed as he placed his chopsticks in his right hand and grabbed a clump of rice.
It was his first bite and after it he quickly chowed down on the rest of his lunch in mere minutes. Patting his stomach while placing the chopsticks away, he began to gaze at the sky. 'Ahh what a nice day to enjoy.'
His moment was soon ruined as a couple of gang members walked up to him holding baseball bats. One was big all round in terms of height and muscle. The other was just tall and lean. The tall one spoke with a intimidating tone to the president. "I heard you are the president. The speech you gave earlier was crap by the way." Astrayl just smiled at the two as if he didn't here the last part of the tall ones sentence then spoke with a calm tone. "Hello, you must be freshmen. By the way, you are correct my name is Astrayl Helio Heartness junior and President of the student council." After Astrayl was finished the big one followed up with a irritating grunt and swung the bat into the bench that Astrayl was sitting one. Then he spoke, "We are the Kezuma brothers, freshmen and younger brothers of Tayzuya Kezuma. Remember him, seeing as how you got him full detention for two years." Then they both talked in unison. "Today is the day for vengeance." The both swung their bats at Astrayl, one aiming for his head while the other aim for his rib. In that interval of time the only thing that caught Astrayl attention was the new girl that he saw in his trig class.
Without much thought, Astrayl's body reacted on instinct. The chopsticks in his left hand caught the bat aimed at his ribs while he used his right hand's pointed finger to stop the other bat. "I am sorry but I don't have time for the two of you." While holding the both of them, Astrayl threw them both to the side as if they were as light as air.
He stood up and walked towards Rick, Nephy, and the new girl. 'I heard a little bit about her from some of my friends who are in the same chemistry class as her. Quiet and some what alone. Seems like she is making friends alright but part of me wants to meet her for myself.' As he was thinking, his hand put his chopsticks in his left pocket while his other threw his lunch bag away.
When Astrayl was no more then 10 feet from them, she stood up looking angry. 'Did they just have a argument?' His eyes immediately went to Nephy who seemed to be trying to keep the girl from leaving. Soon Astrayl was right behind the new girl and placed his hand on her shoulder. "I couldn't help but notice all the commotion going on here. Is everything alright?"

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik continued to eat his free meal as Nephy so rudely interrupted the conversation to harp about the magic class. 'Here she goes again.' The brunette thought to himself. He gave a simple shrug in response and took a couple gulps of his drink. That's when things went bad though. His eyes shifted to look up at Nephy when she mentioned how she was a reincarnation. He fought the urge to deal with the girl right then and there by taking another bite. What was she thinking? Has she lost her mind? He didn't care who found out about her; but the fact that they hung out sometimes could make the a-hole guard suspicious of him. Not to mention the fact that she could accidentally just let it slip who he was. There was a time and place for such talk: this was not it.
While the two was distracted, he was about to deal with the Nephy using one of his ghosts; but he quickly realized that stupid president was coming over. He could feel his annoying presence. This was just horrible. There was no way his 'mother' was going to get a pass on this mishap. He had to respond before that pest got in the way. Unfortunately, he would probably be close enough to hear whatever he said in response. This meant that he had to be careful with his words.
Tarik placed his stuff off to the side and stood up. "Really!?" He responded as he peered down at Nephy. There was a slight hint of disappointed in his voice. Then he turned his attention to the new girl. "She has an active imagination and tends to get TO into things sometimes," he explained in that joking tone of his. "I'm sorry she upset you," he gave her a gentle smile after he gave the honest apology on his 'mothers' behalf. That was when the president was spotted in his peripheral vision.
Tarik shifted his gaze to the a-hole guard leader. "What's up Prez!?" He asked the guy before Astrayl placed his hand on the Anputs shoulder. "I see you decided to come greet the new girl at the most opportune time. Good first impression." The brunette spoke in his normal teasing tone. Just because the guy was the president didn't mean he would treat him any differently than anyone else on this campus. "It was just a silly misunderstanding," he replied to the question Astrayl asked. A smile graced his features as his eyes shifted from the president to Anput. Of course he was hoping that she wouldn't mention anything about what they were just talking about.
Argh! To think something like this could happen so soon. Tarik was really going to lay it on Nephy later. There was no doubt about that and she knew it. There is no way she wouldn't realize how upset he was at her right now, even though he barely treated her any differently. It's a mother son thing. God that woman was such a pain in the a**. All he wanted to do was leave the scene of the crime; but he couldn't willingly leave Anput with Astrayl. The thought just made his stomach turn: he was positive that the reason was because he disliked the president. Then again, maybe he was missing something. His gaze shifted to the new girls shoulder then back to Astrayl before looking down at his food and back up again. He was really just waiting for someone else to say something. It was amazing how he didn't show any of his inner thoughts and feelings. Of course it's not that odd really; after all, he has been acting the whole time he has been going to school here. ♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... Anput relaxed as Rick apologized for Nephy's tricks. She felt a flutter of something, but couldn't quite put a name to it. It was then that the vague-looking boy from her trig class showed up. Her eyes widened a little as he introduced himself, and she couldn't help but remember how easily he'd beaten his opponent.
When Rick spoke to the president, she got the sense that his friendliness was a little forced. Maybe she was wrong, but though the words were the same, he didn't seem as relaxed around the president as he was around his other friends or around her. She decided it must be because it was the student council president and that the tenseness was the kind one got around people with authority figures. Hell, even she was a little tense, especially since she knew just how deadly the student council president could be. Unbidden, the memory of the seeming of the goddess Hathor/Sekhmet floated in her mind's eye, and it made her rethink Nephy's claim about the school.
"Rick was right, it was just a misunderstanding. I'm Anput Neaht." She held out her hand and added, "It's very nice to meet you, Mr. Student Council President." ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik was revealed when Anput agreed with him and didn't bother mentioning any particular details. Of course he noticed how she was a bit uncomfortable now that the president was with them. Still, the girl was just as pleasant as she normally would be. Astrayl was probably used to people feeling certain ways about him because of his position and fighting abilities. In a way, it was kind of sad. Then again, the president was also quite popular. A group of girls have the tendency to fawn over him whenever they get the chance. That might be the only thing that was the same about the two: both having to deal with lovesick girls and even a boy or two.
As the situation seemed to be diffusing and the introductions were being made; it soon became apparent that it was time for the next class to begin. Tarik wasn't sure if he was happy that he could leave or sad that it was over so fast. "Oh. It's time for class." He stated as he scanned over the people that were left over. There were still quite of people chatting it up; but the place was thinning out. "I have to get going," he explained as he walked passed the group while giving them a smile. In reality, it was only meant for Anput; but it wasn't actually directed at any one person. At this point he was fairly calm on the inside. It was probably because he wasn't thinking about the lameo president anymore. Luckily, his seething on the inside was short lived this time. With that said, he was still going to deal with Nephy later; but he made sure she knew what he thought by leaving his lunch for her to pick up. To others, it might have looked like he merely forgot about it though. He had a tendency to do that sometimes anyway. "See you later," he said with a small wave without bothering to turn around to look at the group. Of course everything that came out of his mouth was in a lighthearted tone. He was also not planning on seeing the president if at all possible.
After a while, Tarik made it to his next class and found a random seat. The rest of today might be a bit uneventful. After all, the new girl wasn't in any of the same classes after lunch. Hopefully he didn't have any guards in any either. He had his fill of them already and classes just started. A heavy sigh escaped from his mouth as he half paid attention to what the teacher was saying. "You can't see them..."¤₪((I just posted because it's been a while...sorry.))₪¤ "...but I can."

Callirae went in line to go get her Japanese set lunch and went to look for him right after. She found him sitting in a near table enjoying his korean food. 'Do they taste that good?' She tilted her head to the side, thinking.
As she sauntered nearer, she called out to him "Astrayl-kun", but before she was able to get his attention, a gang shadowed him, and the leader seems to babbled something before attacking.
'The president is really good' she thought as she watches the fight done in just 3 seconds.
Then in a matter of minute, he went to the two strangely familiar faces for her. That was then she realized she has to go talk to Astrayl.
"Wha..whats happening?" she caught him from behind and asked shyly.

Astrayl still had his suspicions but decided to ignore them for the moment. He took Anput's hand with a smile. "It is nice to meet you Anput. If I am correct you are one of the new students at the school." As he was about to say something else the bell rang. "Oh well off to class then." Then he saw Tarik leave and waved him good-bye. 'Tarik seems just as happy to see me as he usually would.' Still, it was tough because the Astrayl and Tarik never saw eye-to-eye. This is only because Tarik was one of the only students in the school that chose to not really notice the azure guard. Like most he did not like the guard but never paid much attention, or at least that is what Astrayl thought. 'Well time to head to class. What is my next class again?'
Before Astrayl could figure it out he noticed Callirae and smiled at her. "come on Callirae, lets head to class." He gestured for her to walk with him to his next class. As they walked Astrayl could feel the large amount of people staring at them. 'The Azure guard uniforms sure do grab attention.' Unlike most others, Astrayl can be a bit of a dreamer, never really truly paying attention to his surroundings. The student could never tell when he was getting looks from girls. Usually he could tell looks of distaste, mostly by the detention students he himself takes care of.
His English class began and he immediately tuned out after awhile seeing as how he found English to easy.

♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... When the president shook her hand, she smiled, trying to hide the shiver of trepidation that had just run down her spine. Why she felt worried by the president, she couldn't say.
Fortunately, the bell rang just then and it was time to go to class. She hurriedly gathered up the remains of her lunch and dumped it in the trash and began walking to class. Anput glanced back over her shoulder to see Rick already halfway across the courtyard to his own class. Nephy was also walking in a different direction, presumably to her own class.
Ancient History was a little strange. The class was in the middle of learning about ancient Egypt and the reign of Pepi II. The teacher spoke of the king's declining power as if he had been there. Some students were nodding knowingly, as if they were simply going over the same memories in their mind. She left the class feeling a little off-balance. It supported Nephy's claim, but there was no such thing in the real world. That kind of thing only popped up in stories.
She managed to convince herself completely of that through art class. Since it had been free time for the class, she'd sketched a picture of a boy. Only once she'd started shading it did she realize that it looked suspiciously like Rick.
Then it was time for magic class. The first thing that struck her as odd was the size of the class. It was much smaller than all her other classes had been. She counted only ten other students. The other thing was that they were all with a private tutor. Some looked to be meditating, others were poring over books of various size, and the rest were listening intently to their teachers.
Someone tapped her on the shoulder, and she turned to see a sour-looking old man frowning at her. He gave her a quick head-to-toe glance and beckoned without saying anything. She followed him to another room that was empty of other people. It was decorated in a decidedly old-fashioned way, but with floor pillows instead of chairs. He motioned for her to sit on these.
"I will begin your instruction on how to use your magic. But first, we must know who you are so that I may train you properly."
He closed his eyes and sat upright, mumbling under his breath. At first, Anput didn't understand any of it. It was just a bunch of nonsense syllables that were spoken in a strange rhythm. It was interesting to listen to, though. If she didn't concentrate too hard, it was almost as if she could understand what he was saying. She closed her eyes and just listened. ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

♦♦♦ ☆⋱⋰☆⋱⋰☆ ♦♦♦ Nodding, Callirae followed Astrayl and walked with him together and headed to their English class, it was a bit boring. It may have been her favorite subject before, but she finds it too easy and doesn't offer too much challenge in her.
The clock seemed to favor her, as it seemed to went by so fast. It felt like just a minute ago the class just started and now,the professor ended the class.
Waiting for the others to go out, Callirae stood in front of the president's desk, she blushed a little before speaking, and then shyly, she asked. "Astrayl-kun, are you going to hold a meeting later this afternoon?" pausing for awhile before continuing, "Haven't seen the others too...I missed the opening ceremony this morning...", there she stood facing the floor, waiting for the man to reply.
