Rota's tail flicked back and forth rythmically. "There is truth in what you say.If I had never had wished for...him...then my bond with Selena might not have been quite as strong as it is now.In the Abyssian household, though, we hold family in high regard.well..." His voice trails off as images of his father looming over him seep into his mind. "At least most of us do.What happened in your family that would put you two on opposing sides like that?" he walked over to the wall near the entrance, and leaned his back against it."That is, unless I'm overstepping my boundaries, here."

Amy bristled as her family's history ran through her mind, and her power literally rippled through the cave, a wave traveling through the stone and the air. "That is a story I imagine you will have to learn.. I do not suspect I shall live long enough to tell it myself. Know that for her entire life, the child you know as Arin has had nothing but fear and hatred directed at her." Amy turned to face Rota "But I do not know if you are ready for the truth. Before I can tell you, you have to prove you're able to defend the truth. If it ever got out, it would mean the end of your entire world. Your 'Queen', your wife, your son. Everyone you ever knew, everywhere you've ever been would be annihilated. Wiped form the Universe without a second thought. Do you understand? in a corkscrew pattern, tightening and accelerating as they light began to solidify behind them, forming an elegant basket hitl around her left hand, and winding down to a point to form a long,beautiful blue rapier, which she brought vertically in front of her face and flicked down to finish the salute, bringing the point back up in a ready position.

Rota observed the Mystic Saiyan's preparation. He looked down at the ground, knowing what it is he needed to do. "We were never formally introduced.If we were, you would know that I can take a secret with me to the grave. I am Rota Emptiet Abyssian, of the Abyssian family of Saiyans. I am the one who wished for a brother he never received, botching the wish of a much higher ranked family.I spent days in solitary confinement with a pain wraith locked inside my head because of improper wording.Up untill my death, the only people who knew of the wraith were my son and my wife."The chaotic aura around his hand reformed, and the ki veins seemed to tear their way out of his skin. They lashed wildly in the air, before corkscrewing around his arm, and enveloping his hand. The aura pulsed like a beating heart, and to those who were in tune with ki, it even seemed to breathe."If I cannot protect a secret with my fists," Rota turned the tip of the blade down to the ground, and hunched slightly. He cocked his left forearm upward, while keeping his elbow close to his waist. His left hand was smei-clenched."then dead men tell no tales."His eyes flashed red. he looked at Ryuko for a second. Ryuko just stood there. There would be no rest. No senzu bean. This was his fight to lose.

And with that, Amy sprang forward, slashing from her upper left side down to her lower right, the blade aimed for Rota's throat. It seemed she was trying to kill him. Again. Does he even know what happens if you die here? She herself knew very well the implications. It was a death of a sort no amount of power could forestall. No amount of power could save you from it, and no one had ever returned to say what it was like there. Amy hoped her death could be like that one day. To spare her the limitless agony awaiting her if it were learned that she had betrayed the Family. She didn't care what it was like on the other side. Rota saw the events in slow motion, an abnormality that he would only explain as seeing his death flash before his eyes. he thought to dodge, but he knew he wasn't fast enough. he thought to block, but he knew his Ki was no match for hers. instead, he chose to do the unexpected. he was afraid inside, but did not let it show, He smiled as he let his Ki blade dissolve, and stood perfectly still. "Very well then." The rapier of Ki sliced its way through his jugular and part of his trachea. He started laughing a horse,airy, guffaw out of his newly acquired throat hole, and passed out onto his face.
Ryuko saw Rota drop, and knew that he didn't have much time. he moved in between his two disciples, and used his Ki to stabilize Rota. "This fight is over.Has he proved himself enough for you?"

Amy sighed softly. "Normally, we'd cut out his tongue, but I've removed his vocal cords." She eyed the gore on the ground. "If you heal him, every word he now speaks for the rest of his lives is owed to you and myself. Me for sparing him, and you for not letting him die. I believe it is enough, given the circumstances." It was astoundingly cruel, but she almost hoped he would die. As much as the story needed to live on, she dreaded telling it, and her role in this disgusting farce shamed her to a point beyond saiyan pride. Her very soul was tainted with the stains of her family's dishonor. She almost wished that her sister may never know, and if Rota died here, that may yet be possible. Her ki blade slowly dissipated in much the same way it had formed, and she walked away to leave the cave.

Ryuko had stabilized Rota, and applied a major sedative that would keep him unconscious for an extended period of time. he would need to be. Ryuko crushed up a senzu bean, and fed it through the new throat hole down to his stomach. in seconds, the wound closed. The powers of the senzu bean had worked, now it was time for Rota's body to do the rest. Ryuko put Rota on his back, and started to carry him out of the cave. "The only reason I let this conflict get this far, is because I know how much it means to you.I have never lost a pupil in the history of me being a Kai, and I'll be damned if I'll let it start now. Know this, you pull a stunt like that again, and you'll experience what's beyond death." Ryuko could feel the sorrow and confusion of Lite, and attuned himself to what Lite was going through. that was when he saw a hulking mass of flesh and claws in Lite's recent memory that he recognized as 'The Devourer'. "Speaking of death, put your arm on my shoulder. I can see something that might force you and your sister's reunion earlier than anyone thought."

Amy rolled her eyes before turning back to the Kai. "Then perhaps you might train him well enough to kill me, and you won't lose a student. Your kid gloves are no way to train a saiyan. A saiyan only truly thrives when you truly desire to kill them." She stepped forward and placed her hand on Ryuko's shoulder, wondering what the man was talking about. There was still no way to come back from the dead, and it was doubtful that she would be brought back before many years had passed. Her eyes were bored as she looked at some alien variation of a scorpion --a creature that dwelled on Earth-- before her eyes widened and she realized exactly what shade of gray she was looking at. Her quick eyes scanned the scene. A crashed ship.. An empty city. Arin, fighting the Devourer... "Orsa..." The Super Saiyans had long avoided the planet, worried that even coming close to it might awaken the mysterious all-consumer... But trust her sister to have the bad stars to crash into the planet....

"Encountered? I got a three hour briefing on every possible route to take to avoid that planet. One of them involved flying through an asteroid field known for piracy." She took a deep breath. "The Devourer consumes everything on its most primal level. A baby is unable to use its full potential, but an adult is said to devour the very souls of its targets. It feeds on ki. It's said to be so sensitive to the movements of ki that a single person flying on the other side of the planet risks bringing its destruction on everyone near them. The Orsans actually banned the use of ki and made it punishable by death over a hundred years ago. The planet fell into obscurity and has been secluded since the last Devourer was hatched... This is bad."

Ryuko sighed. "I was wondering why I haven't been seeing any Orsans on this planet in quite some time. they used to be some of my greatest pupils, aside from saiyans. This is only the fourth time I've seen the Devourer at work, and even then it wasn't a landslide victory." He looked at Amy " I don't suppose that briefing included any weaknesses of the beast, did it?"

Amy shook her head softly. "Well, if you're dead, you're safe from it." There was nothing that would save you from the Devourer if it caught your scent except for... "It's possible that getting rid of all of your ki might cause it to lose interest... Nobody's lived long enough to find out.. What is she doing!?" Amy watched Arin start trying to go toe to toe with the Devourer. The Super Saiyan clenched her fist and her palm began bleeding. She watched the sorry state of her sister and felt a pang of guilt. She should be there. She could heal her. She could save her. Amy grit her teeth until they bled, and her body shook as her sister was grabbed. She took a deep breath and accepted the inevitable. She knew what came next. There was no helping her. She removed her hand from Ryuko's shoulder and turned to face Snake Way. "It's over."
