His eyes were misting, thick with misery and glistening. He could barely think over the noise and chaos around him in his own kitchen, a place that was supposed to be safe and secure. Everything was ruined. Dinner. His date. His boyfriend. His best friend. Everything took a turn for the worse and all at once, it was too much to bear. His insides hurt and it was hard to breathe. Why did this all go wrong? Where did he make a mistake? What did he ever do to deserve this?
Paris came to him, shaking him out of it, but he didn't want to be touched. He didn't want to be near Paris. The boy had hurt him deeply and he just couldn't force any forgiveness at the moment. Not yet. Not now. All he wanted was to be left alone. As the blonde pleaded to get his attention, Ladon could only look up at him with glistening, tear-ballooning eyes as he blinked them off to drip from his long lashes. "Why?" He asked. "You go out with so many people and don't care about any of them. Why did you have to go out with the one person I want." The only person who wanted him. Of all the people in the entire city, in the entire world, Paris had to have this one. It was then that Ladon hated that Paris slept around. That he had to go around taking everyone and leave him nothing – even less than what he thought possible. Worse yet, what little, small idea that he and Billy would be together for the first time was taken from him and while it might have just hurt him a little if it was anyone else, it hurt too much to think it was Paris. It was hard to even look at him.
Billy intervened at just the right moment and as he stepped in, Ladon stepped back, holding his chest and wanting to sink to the ground. As Billy repeated Ladon's desire for him to go, he could only look away, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. "Go home, Paris." He was more than pleading. He was BEGGING the boy to leave. He just wanted to be alone now.
Maybe it just proved that Ladon didn't deserve a friend or a boyfriend.

Paris glared at Billy, jerking away from the hand on his arm, rubbing at the offending spot through his shirt. "Keep your hands off me," he demanded. He wanted to tell him not to use the name 'Lady,' that it wasn't his to use in the first place, but he bit back the comment and turned away from him, facing Ladon again instead.
He didn't know how to feel. He hadn't known since the moment he'd seen them together, but he knew even less now. He should be angry, and he was, but there was pain, too, and sadness, clawing away at his insides before settling in the pit of his stomach. He eyes stung but he refused to cry in front of either of them. They didn't deserve to see that much of a reaction from him, they didn't deserve to see him so vulnerable, so he blinked back the tears and swallowed down the lump in his ******** you, Ladon," he hissed, lashing out with anger, using it as a defense to conceal his grief. Another smirk crossed his face, but it was feeble, and the short laugh that escaped him was forced and humorless. "Although I guess you'd rather Billy do that, hmm?"
He turned before either of them could say anything in response and fled the kitchen. It hurt to breathe, and though he fumed at being forced from the scene and thrown out like so much garbage, he knew he had to leave before he fell apart. He might have granted Ladon the honor of seeing him cry if the circumstances had been different, but that was no longer something he was willing to allow. Ladon had made his choice, preferring his illusion of love to the truth Paris had tried to make him see, and now they would both have to live with it.
Paris grabbed his coat in the living-room, yanking it on before pausing to tug on his shoes. He left the house without a backward glance, slamming the front door behind him.

Billy kept a glare in the direction Paris had left from, until at last the final slam of the door.
Now was the time for a little more acting.
Billy heaved a forced sigh and slumped back against whatever surface was behind him - the counter probably. He put back on that pained, self-loathing expression, and even went so far as to bury his face in his hand. It was perhaps the best action he could take until he knew what Ladon's reaction would be.
That very reaction would be the catalyst for what would be soon to come. This whole relationship would either be no more, and Billy would pick up a new victim, or he would permit himself to fall for Ladon. He was certainly a worthy enough partner.

He jumped when the door was slammed, knowing full well that Paris was gone and wondering if he would ever see him again. Just like that, he went from having one best friend to having none at all. A great feeling of regret swelled up in him, yet he still was set that he had been right. Paris had been the one to come here, interrupt his date, his first kiss, ruin dinner, insult his boyfriend, insult him, and doubt what they had together. As much as he wanted to say that Paris had not affected his relationship with Billy, he had. How could it not after what he had found out. Part of him had wondered if Billy had been with anyone else. His ease in holding someone and flirting suggested he was more experience than Ladon was, yet Ladon had felt it was better to just leave his exes as nameless, faceless shadows. A hopefully small number of people he was comfortable he would never meet. Having said ex right in his kitchen was too close for comfort. It seemed most everyone was having sex before him. It seemed everyone was going on dates and going "all the way" many times with many people and he was just silly, extinct creature that was slow to the race.
Wiping his eyes, he looked over to Billy and noticed his sad, frustrated features and breathed out. "I-I'm sorry." His voice cracked. "He's usually nicer than that." Well, Billy would know, wouldn't he? The thought hit him hard again, and he clutched the fabric of his shirt again, not wanting to think about the two of them together in indecent positions.
Paris was lying. What they had……whatever it was….it was with the intention of falling in love. They were serious about this. Billy wouldn't just have a random fling if he could go with anyone. When he could just call on Paris, would he?
Looking over, he started to move, and a hand reached out, curling around Billy's shoulder. "Billy…" he said, his voice raw in the stillness of the kitchen. "…..he's lying. You love me…….right? Even if it's just been three……..two dates? You're not just having some fun." If Billy had the intention of just having a fling or messing around, Ladon had to know. Maybe Billy was like other kids his age who wanted just to have a short, temporary thing, and Ladon had to make sure he wasn't. If so, he had to be clear and say that, here and now, they had to break up. Ladon wasn't a short term person. He gave everything into what he did, and that included matters of his heart. They never really brought this up, and he needed to bring it up now. He needed to know, to be certain, that Ladon had been right in saying they were in love.

Billy removed his hand from his face and gripped the edge of the counter behind him in a half-exasperated manner, which of course he wasn't. He didn't look over to Ladon as he spoke next, and a bitter grin was placed on his face, "If I intended to just fool around I would have chosen an easy target - to hell with this courting mess and even bothering to get to know the person." Billy hoped that was a good enough answer. if not then; "I had, have every intention to fall in love with you," He whispered.
Well, maybe not before. Maybe not even now. He still wasn't getting a clear answer. There were some very endearing aspects that Billy found in Ladon. Endearing enough to reach the core of his hard, cold heart? Warm it up a little? He wasn't sure. But Ladon was endearing enough for Billy to give it a try. The game had turned on him. Billy never wanted to put in any real emotional investment, yet here he was giving himself the pros and cons, convincing himself that maybe he could. Billy had never formed a close bond with anyone. Not parents or any potential friends. Billy was too prideful to admit that putting more of himself out there was scary... Even more so to admit that, should things take a bad turn, that he might be hurt. Big bad Billy didn't get hurt. Whether Ladon knew it or not, his worth was being measured. Measured carefully. Billy had managed to make Ladon fall for him. Maybe now it was Ladon's turn to make him fall.

It was probably bad that he was wearing Billy down with having to have him admit it after all that he had said and done in the past, but it felt necessary to him to ask. Just for the record. Still, once confirmed, he regretted asking only because it made him seem as if he doubted Billy when he shouldn't. After the gray-haired teen had defended him and stood up to him, that alone should have been proof enough.
Slowly, he moved in and wrapped his arms around the other, more into a hug than an embrace. Billy wasn't that much taller than he was aside from a few inches, but it gave enough for Ladon to rest his brow on the other's shoulder. "Thank you." He whispered, glad to hear it and also for everything Billy had done for him. For being there, for defending him, and for putting up with it all. Ladon wanted to the person that Billy deserved.
Taking a moment to collect, he whispered back. "Dinner is ruined." He would have suggested takeout or delivery, but he felt sick to his stomach and not much for conversation. "Do you mind if………we postpone our date till later?" He didn't think he could keep up a conversation now after what happened, and he felt too sick, weak, and tired to even believe that whatever date they could scrape up tonight would be worth it. He just didn't feel affectionate in any way.

An arm wrapped around Ladon and the hand attacked to that arm played with, petted, the boy's hair. "I was merely being the tarnished knight for my...." Well, princess or damsel wasn't right... "dear prince."
If Billy was going to be getting attached, might as well find a pet name. A mental sigh was heaved at the thought.
"I'm sorry about dinner. A postponement sounds good. Do you need help cleaning up?" As much as a clean freak as Billy could be, dish detail wasn't really on his agenda. Or anywhere on his preferred chores list. It was the offer that would really count though. The gesture. Billy could feel a headache coming on. Too much thinking in such a short amount of time...and he was sure sleep would not come easy. Too much thinking still left to do~

The comfort was well received and the thought did count. It meant a lot, but Ladon refused it. Shaking his head, he lingered a moment before pulling away. "No. It's nothing much. You should really get back." He stepped away, looking around the kitchen before back at Billy. "Be safe." He said, of course thinking of not only youma, but maybe crossing Paris on his way to Hillworth. He hoped they didn’t get in any fights over him while at school. He didn't need to hear about any punching or biting.

Billy merely nodded, and left a kiss on Ladon's hand before leaving. He planned on returning directly to Hillworth. If he saw Paris, what happened would happen. It wasn't like Billy was going to be skipping gym or school to avoid him. That just wasn't how Billy rolled.
Besides - Billy had a lot to think about. Things to plan. And a tyenol to take.
