Lamia turned her head to look at Sin, water dripping from her mane despite shaking the bulk of it out earlier. She made a humming sound in her throat, the temor of it a mix of low contempt and high speculation. Certainly her expression or body wasn't giving any clues as to what she thought of the question or the thanks!

"You don't know me, but you should have some sort of understanding at this point," she began, voice inflectionless and without any descernable emotion, light enough that she could well have been commenting on something as blase as the weather. "What you saw, that wasn't me. That was a demon hell-bent on bloodlust, and she would have no-," Lamia hesitated, then changed what she had been about to say on the off-chance she couldn't keep her tone as level as she wanted.

"The point is that I am in control, I am stronger than that demon. I am by no means an angel," she added, snorting at the very thought, "and I'm certainly a whole mess of things that would cause anyone with sanity to watch me like a mouse watches a cat." Here she raised an eyebrow ever so slightly as she looked pointedly at Sin, and was that twinkle in her eyes on of....humor?

"But," she continued, expression melting back into neutrality, "I am no coward, and, piece of work though I may be, I have honor. It would rankle me to no end if I had just left you there alone." Lamia's tail flicked out behind her, casting another fine spray of water from her fur. It appeared she had finished talking, for her eyes had dropped away from Sin and she seemed to be more interested in taking stock of her body than in the black male.

He shrugged, not really caring for her lack of care, tail flicking in response. His ears twitched, lying down as he carefully examined his body. His arm was pretty busted, but he was used to it. Carefully, he stood, moving to the trees and grabbing a leaf, wadding into the water and cleansing the wound, wrapping the leaf around with his teeth and free paw. After, he nodded in affirmation, turning to Lamia.

"Either way, I am grateful, though I was ready to accept my fate." He paused, smirking, cheshire cat returning. "Or perhaps I would have lived either way." He padded nearby the female, tail flicking as his head raised, licking his lips. "They tasted rather...delicious if I do say so myself."

He lied down once more, resting his head on his paws, not sleeping merely watching Lamia, wandering why he was still around her, and why he hadn't merely left at this point.

Lamia turned her gaze back to the forest. "I do not eat hunters." She said it with a kind of finality that hinted there might be a story behind her ultimatum, but it wasn't one she was going to share.

She had finished assessing her own body and came to the conclusion that she was fine. Muscles a little sore from exhertion, but that was a common thing for all sorts of activities, not just fighting.

"Such a waste," she murmured to her, and glanced back towards the lake as though she was contemplating going back in it. But no, she was beginning to dry now and there was no point to getting wet again. Fish never tasted very good in the winter away.

"I suppose this is the moment we part ways? It seems cliche enough." Lamia curled her lip a bit at the cliche part. All cliches situations seemed to end in gooey romance, and she'd really rather rip out her ear piercings than endure a storybook ending.

He frowned at her, shrugging. "How boring." He mused, looking at her. "Cliche departures? Redundant. Why not enjoy one another company?" He laughed the last bit out, grinning at her sadistically before cracking his neck. Perhaps he didn't really want to part ways. She was fast, perhaps a little fight was in order? Not one resulting in death, but one that lasted until the other was tired?

Yes, he hadn't fought a worthy opponent in awhile..

"What do you say to a game?" His eyes narrowed, darkening considerably. He stood, tilting his head. "Not to the death, merely until sun-down, which is soon." His tail flicked, stretching. "I think practice is always good."

Lamia's own eyes narrowed and darkened a bit. "You give me far too much credit," she said in a reproving tone. "I don't need to be in a fight to the death to become deadly. What exactly do you have in mind?" She didn't trust the bizarre reaction from her dark side to happen a second time, and one battle in a day was enough.

He was well aware of the fact she was most likely done with battles. If she was anything like Odi, well, she would be done completely with battles. Blood lust was large toll on the body, and he was well aware of this. However, he still wanted that game. He still wanted to challenge her. It was speed and precision he needed to advance on. His power was immense, speed impressive, but she was faster, automatically he wanted to obtain the higher status of speed she herself possessed.

"A catching game. My speed isn't at par to yours, and I would be amused with a quick game of "chase", or so younger generations call it." He shrugged at her, eyes narrowing. "I haven't trained in awhile."

"You want to....catch me," Lamia repeated, sounding almost puzzled. This wasn't something she was familiar with. She had trained since she was a kit to obtain her speed, and still did train now to keep it at it's level, if not improve it. Games were....alien to her.

"You could not have a hope of catching me without years of training, and then you would only have a hope." He would have to sacrifice a great deal of his upper-body strength as well, for it only held back and slowed down runners; they didn't need to be strong, they needed to be quick.

Sin smiled, head tilting. Was she confused? He himself never played games as a kit, but raising Ixen he had learned to improvise. His son was raised with games disguised as training, and then, in the end full on training. At her comment he shrugged, eyeing the vixen.

"Catching you is not all I desire. I just wish to see how fast I can go. I've never faced an opponent that has pushed me to my limit. Once, almost, a male named Leopold almost required my attention, but in the end, not so much."

"You look to have speed, though with your muscle I doubt your agility is as on par," Lamia mused aloud, eyeing Sin's muscles. "Very well. Do you wish to run, or dance?" Running, of course, meaning a simple straight course that tested speed alone. Dancing was not necessarily dancing, but a combination of speed and agility that made it almost look like the foxes involved were dancing. The type of dance varied depending on the skill of the foxes in question.

Dance? Oh, dance. He was excellent at dodging, this was be more of his area of skills. He smirked at the vixen, slipping closer to her, brushing his body against hers. Oh, she was fun. She was a interesting vixen, younger but just as smart and strong in her own way. He liked this vixen, he was seriously reconsidering just departing so soon. Not after such and interesting game that would be happening, and not after she had showed her strength to him. He was respectful to those strong and dark, much like him, though his form of respect was different. Very different.

"A dance it is, Lamia." He mused, moving away from her, smirking a cheshire grin once more, his trade-mark. He leapt to the side, and then back, preparing for her to move closer. This would surely be a fun game.

"Then let's dance."

Before the last word finished ringing in the air she was gone. This climate actually played largely to her strengths for, like Sin could melt into shadows, Lamia could melt into fog. Perhaps she wasn't a demon at this moment, but more of a ghost.

Suddenly she appeared next to Sin's side. Her body and tail curved sinuously next to his, almost as though she were molding her form to him but without actually touching him. As the current of air from her passage came to ruffle his fur she was gone yet again, melted into the fog.

Lamia's mind began to quiet. Not so much into a fighting frenzy quiet, but into the relaxed state of letting her muscles do what they knew best. Her steps were muted, for all the world as though she were lightly walking rather than moving like wind.

As she appeared at his side he didn't flinch, nor did he lash out. Instead, he smile, black eyes curiously scanning her movements, judging. She slipped into the fog. Two dancers. One powerful and molded to the darkness, the other quick and molded to the fog. Demons together, dancing in the night. Surely what was wrong with the world? Bringing two dangers so close to one another, was fate tempting him?

Fate, like he believed in that.

Sin slid back into the shadows, vanishing into its darkness. He found her, slipping close to her, and yet she was gone before he could actually touch her. Speed, that was her skill. He could break a fox in half, she could swiftly startle and end an opponent before they even saw her. So interesting, he found her rather exceptional.

This time he waited for her to approach, slipping into the shadows, his element. He was dark, and he had learned how to be quiet and dangerous by hiding in other dark objects. He was confident he could not touch her in fog, however, could she touch him in shadow?

Lamia watched as Sin moved further back into the trees, where the shadows lurked. It was futile for him to escape the fog, for even in the shadows the stuff clung. Rather than shift the advantage, it was more like it had leveled out; black and white weaving through gray.

Perhaps weave wasn't the right word for Sin. He did have speed, she would give him that, but it was much more straightforward. Not only did she have the edge purely by how fast she could go, her slim and flexible body was able to change direction a lot quicker than his could.

She objective wasn't to tag either, that was Sin's goal to strive for. She was simply moving, becoming the demon that lurks out of sight, something untouchable that you could not stand and fight.

Lamia weaved around Sin, darting in and out, staying in sight for only a moment before she appeared somewhere else. She also found herself slipping into an old habit of whispering. As demonstrated with her growl previously, she had amazing control of the tone and pitch of her voice when she wished. Even though she was whispering in quiet, unitelligable words the sound seemed to come from all sides and echo quietly.

It was just an old habit used to unsettle her victims in the past. She doubted it would really affect Sin, but habits died hard.

No, it did not bother him. He stayed still, listening intently. A trick of hers, clever. Did she think he would fall for this trick? He was not stupid, far from it. However, he smiled, listening. It came from all sides, yes, but all sounds had a source, and he wanted to find hers. His ear flicked as he thought he found her, however he didn't move, he waited patiently. Perhaps he wouldn't win this little game, but there was more games to be played, and she was far to fun to let go. No, he wouldn't force her to stick around, but she was one of the few vixens he could tolerate, and the only he admired. There had been Nex, and Pattoh, and while strong and for awhile he found himself amused by them, perhaps slightly frustrated in the romantic sense, he had given them up, bored.

This new vixen was different. He would not tire of this worthy companion.

He flicked his tail, creating a whooshing sound in the air, letting her know where he was. The second she would come close enough to see he would leap forward and join her dance, and attempt to tap her with a paw.

As though Sin's tail movement was a signal, all the noise stopped. Even the light tred of footfalls that signified Lamia was moving around, however swiftly or silently. There was a sudden snapping sound, like a branch, and that unintelligable soft whisper again.

Not more than two seconds later a rustling of leaves and more whispering, but almost in the complete opposite direction that theh first sound had come from. It was another of Lamia's tricks, one of the more difficult ones yet one of her favorites. After all Sin hadn't said she was prohibited from using disorienting techniques.

And she certainly played this game in her own way. No matter how she may or may not have felt about him, no male could make her dance to his song.
