Shadow did not reply to this, but remained staring out the window. Finally, he spoke. "I wonder if I even have a soul. I wonder if I even bleed. I've never been injured before, so I don't know."

She watched him for a moment before standing up and going to the kitchen. She pulls out a blade and places it onto the table. "So do it. If it will ease you. . ."

Shadow turned and walked over to the table, arms crossed. He uncrossed one, picking up the blade. "Nothing will ease me." he said, holding his left arm infront of him. He cut into his jacket sleeve, into his skin; he placed the knife down again, looking at the injury he'd given himself. Slowly but surely, red was leaking from it, and staining his sleeve. "I did not feel any pain, but at least I can bleed. I have to give those scientists credit, though. I was starting to think I was a robot of somesort...." Shadow mumbled to himself, sitting down on the couch. He did not lower his bleeding arm, nor remove his gaze from it.

Alice stood and got some paper towels. She took his arm carefully and gently dabbed at the blood, wiping some away. She stared at his arm before looking up and smiling at him.

Shadow watched her do this. When she finished, he looked up at her. His face didn't really have an expression. If anything, he looked between saying thanks and telling her to get lost.

She stared at his facial expression for a while, trying to figure out what he was thinking. She just gave up and smiled after a while. She stood up and threw away the papers.

Shadow stood, looking towards the window. "It won't be long 'til they decide to search the houses. By that time, I have to be long gone."

She nodded and took out some supplies from the fridge. After a while she gives him a wrapped package. "It's a couple sandwiches and some juice. I threw in some cookies as well." She smiled. "You must be hungry. . ."

"Not really. I can go a while without eating. But thanks." Shadow said, taking the package. "I probably won't be seeing you for a very extended time, if I ever do see you again. It's unlikely, but not impossible."

She smiled up at him. "I really hope we can see each other again, but it's time for you to leave, isn't it?" She frowned. "I hope they don't find you, it sounds like they have ruined your life. Just be careful okay?" She said worriedly.

Shadow nodded. Then he walked to the top of the stairs, looking back at her. Again, there was that expression telling her he was between saying thanks and just leaving. Then he descended the staircase, going out the backdoor, which lead into an alley.

She looked at him as he looked at her and smiled as he descended the stairs. She closed the door and went to sit on her couch since she didn't have a window to the alley. She twiddled her thumbs nervously.

Downstairs, there was a loud slam as Alice's front door was burst open. Three guards entered, pointing their guns everywhere. "Search the premises!" ordered one of them, "He's got to be here somewhere!"
Meanwhile, Shadow walked through the mostly deserted streets. He was rarely outside, except on missions, but even then he was inside stealing something for the lab. The few people he passed didn't seem disturbed by his slightly odd get-up; mostly because to them, he looked like any other teenager.
(I has to go soooon. D: And what ish taekwondo? O_o)

Alice screamed and backed up against the wall, not because they were scary, but because it was a surprise. She looked around at them, trying to hide the guilt in her face, but failing. "What's going on!? What are you doing!?" She yelled at them.
((AWWWW DON'T LEAVE ME!))
((XD it's a form of fighting ~ Martial Arts. Pretty much kicking, blocking, punching and beating people up. 3nodding ))
