He pursed his lips, irritated. Fine. She wanted to be stubborn. Fine. Just fine. He moved past her, back into the cave, his rump and sides wet and cold from the storm as he slid past her, brushing her side again. What he got for being concerned. Why did he bother? Why did he keep helping others? This was what he got. And when she got sicker, then he'd have to take care of her.
Annoyed he settled down inside the cave to watch over her. So much about her he still didn't understand, but if they were parting ways soon, did it matter? No, it really didn't/ Just curiosity, and that would pass with time. It was not a reason strong enough to speak and besides, she clearly did not like him or want his company. No, she clearly.... ACHOO. He blinked startled. That had been some sneeze....

Her ears flicks behind her at the sneeze. Goodness that was a sneeze.. No wonder he'd been grumpy.. all sick and then stuck in a cave during a storm with a strange mare. Sighing, she turned and walked back to check on him. "You alright? Not feverish are you?" She stuck her head down and proceeded to 'mother' him in a sense like she'd noticed her own mother do when she or her siblings had gotten sick as foals. He didn't feel feverish.. but that didn't mean much other than maybe this was just the start of it.. Giving a gentle sigh and tsking lightly at him almost motherly, she snuggled down beside him. If he was sick he didn't need to be any colder.

He blinked at her as she came back. You alright? At first the question burned through him. He hated when others felt the need to ask questions like that. The answer was perfectly obvious, he was fine, just an...an...an... ACHOO.... Then the rest of her question penetrated as he sniffled a bit. Feverish? She thought he was sick? An ear flicked back, and he was about to tell her he was fine, when something occurred to him.
Clearly she was projecting her own illness on to him. It was fairly common, and while he wanted to correct the mistake so she could take care of herself, he realized that this could actually work well. If she was so focused on taking care of him, it would be easier to get her to take care of ACHOO herself.
After all, she was already away from the cave entrance, and against him getting warm. Those were both good. And when the storm died down, if he went to get some melted snow to drink, perhaps he could convince her to do the same. Alright, he wouldn't lie or act sick, but if she wanted to ACHOO believe he was, he'd let her, at least until she got better herself.

Sighing, she rested her neck over his back, trying to keep him as warm as possible. His sneezing didn't seem to be getting any better at all. Last thing she wanted now was for him to get cold or think he needed to be off walking around, being macho or some other sort of thing like that. It was going to be a long night and with the storm as such, she didn't foresee any threatening or hungry animal to be out on the hunt in that weather. She could let the mouth of the cave be and rest up a bit. Closing her eyes, she allowed herself to take a small nap, though only dozing lightly in case he attempted to get up and make his illness worse on him.

Pachu'a felt the change when she fell asleep. Relief filled him, then, though he shoved it away. Good, she was resting. That would help her heal. He had to figure out what the next step was. But her warmth against him was making it hard to focus, and he felt another sneeze threatening. He shoved his nose into the ground until the sensation passed. A sneeze at this point would wake her, and she needed her rest. He needed to think about what to do next. Another sneeze threatened and he shoved his nose into the cave floor so hard that it began to really smart. But at least he held the sneeze in. The silly girl would make herself sicker fretting over him if she woke up because of his sneezing.
Well, maybe the only way to stop sneezing was to sleep himself. Then when she awoke, he would wake up too, and then he could examine the situation ah...ah... he shoved his nose to the ground again until the need passed. His eyes watered so he closed them. Well, maybe just a short nap. He leaned his head against hers lightly and drifted off to sleep as well, telling himself he'd sleep lightly, and wake if she stirred.

She couldn't help but chuckle inwardly as he finally settled down to get some rest himself. Good he was sleeping. The made her job easier at least. She remembered how restless she use to get when sick. Still the wind's howl outside the cave lulled her to sleep , she couldn't help but to hope he was getting a restful sleep. Being sick often took it out of some one and he was most likely really going to need his strength. Winter was far from over.
((scooby doo time warp))
It had been well about five hours since the two had come to the cave when she heard the soft foot falls of another animal at the entrance of the cave. Opening her eyes, she looked about. A dark looming figure of a bear blocked the passage between them and the entrance. At first she though about waking the stallion up before she heard a familiar snicker.
Magic was making her way closer to the two when Her mistress' daughter looked up at her. She'd been snickering the whole time and had meant to stay quiet but the sight was just too funny. "You wait till you're parents hear of this one little miss.." She got a bit closer before flopping over sideways and continuing to laugh. Oh would her parents be surprised indeed to see such a spectacle. What would her mistress say? Better yet.. what would Oracle say to see his little girl snuggled up with a strange stallion they surely had never been introduced to. She literally rolled from side to side giggling and snickering and other wise laughing at such a sight.

Something... what was it? Pachu'a hovered at the edge of sleep. Something annoyed him, near to waking...but didn't wake him. He couldn't THINK. His ind was in a fog. A blur of images swam together, swirling in his head like flood water through a crack in the valley floor.
Irritating images, good images, bad images, all fragments of memories... of... thoughts... mixing like so much slush in a melt. Lian's face, Blossom's annoying voice, Heha's smile, Hydro's tears, Briallan's tail wagging, Lian smashing her head into a branch, the basket, cold snow on a mountain top. Images sounds, thoughts feeling, all swirling together. His head twitched violently as he fought to either wake up or fall deeper asleep, anything no not be surrounded by so much that made so little sense...

She cast a rare scowl at her mother's familiar and shushed at her. "Shhh.. you'll wake him.." Her voice was a whisper though the look was words enough to the bear. "He's sick... he needs to rest." She gave a small sigh and wiggled enough to get comfortable and hoped he wouldn't wake up any more than his head twitching.
Giving a soft snort she scowled right back at Briallan. "You're parents worry.. You never came back so I went out to find you then this storm hit..." She looked her over, her vision resting on the wound. "What did you get there? What happened?" She couldn't help but to look to the stallion and glower. "If he's forced you to mate with him.. so help me......"

Words, he almost heard them, they poked at him, annoying him, like burrs in a blanket. Why did people have to break his sleep with words, why must everyone fill their mouths with them as though they were more a necessity of life then air? He thrashed a bit, still trapped between sleep and awake. Now the swirling images were longer, but still a jumble. Moments, rather then seconds. Lian's mother abandoning the basket, Hydro moving a stone, Pulling Blossom about by her tail, chasing off a wild cat, pulling Lian along by HER tail, realizing he couldn't bite a tail that looked as much like flesh as Bri's did. Lina's face came to his mind again. Was she well, was she hurt? As he thrashed some more, a tear rolled down his face as his sleeping mind acknowledged what his waking thoughts never wold. He missed his daughter.

Casting a sharp look to the bear, she nudged his side gently, attempting to sooth his thrashing. "Sh sh sh.. it's ok.. you're safe, warm, and in good company..." She looked him over for any signs of becoming any worse. ever? No not a fever yet... but he did seem delirious... His thrashing really wasn't helping his state either.
Snorting, she settled to just watch this spectacle. "He probably needs water.." She mumbles under her breath as she rested her head on her paws some. This was definitely going to be a doosey of an event to try to explain to the young mare's parents. Still.. Briallan was a full grown mare.. she was capable of answering for herself and though she was sweet.. Many times she'd seen her as a young foal speaking her mind to her sister when she'd just had enough of her antiques.

And oddly, the soothing seemed almost to work. Another tear slipped free of his eye, but he stilled, and slowly fell back into a deeper sleep against her. Hot... even asleep he felt...hot. Warm and pleasant, but also hot... Snow. He dreamed of snow. He always did love the cold.

She turned her attention back to the bear. "Magic, go find us something to eat... he'll need it when he wakes..." She tried to think of how the bear would be able to get it to them. "Maybe... look for a basket that's been discarded to use? I'm sure those two-leggers Shilo spoke of have discarded something you might be able to use."
Magic about sputtered at the mention of a basket. "I hardly think you need one of those little miss..." It then dawned on her what the mare had meant. "Oh.. right.. to carry things in... You sure you don't want me to fetch your mother to help? I mean if he's really in that bad of shape..."

He started to stir again, but this time more fully, his eyes half opened looking glassy. The warm was good...the hot was not. He wanted snow, he could smell snow. But between him and the snow was a... shadow. He tried to focus his blurry eyes on basket, and snorted with annoyance when he couldn't manage it. The snort, of course, hurt his bruised nose, and if that wasn't enough... AAAACHOO!

Briallan eyed him and nosed him a bit more. "Go back to sleep.. She cooed gently as she spoke trying to lull him back to sleep." She nodded for the bear to move and go now to get what had been asked for. Looking back at the still half asleep and still sick male beside her, she couldn't help but ti rest her head back down on him.
She was about to grumble but seeing the stallion stirring, she figured it'd be best not to argue but instead just went for what she'd been sent after. Just where did she plan on finding a basket, let alone something for those two to eat??
Hearing Magic leave, she settled back into calm, quietness. Her ears gave a twitch to the still blowing wind outside though it wasn't howling nearly like it had been. The wind actually reminded her of a tone she'd heard as a foal smiling, she closed her eyes once more and hoped he would go back to sleep with the bear now occupied.

He had been about to get up, as the bear left, to go outside, to where the cold was, the cool cool snow. But... the warm was nice too. But there was too much hot... he just had to step outside to get the cold, but then he'd loose the warm.... Nothing much made sense, but closing his eyes was easy, so he did that. Falling back asleep was easy so he.....
