As she extended her hand he gently took it and stood right beside her. He would let her lean her head on his shoulder if the risk of being bitten wasn't enough but he still allowed herself to if she felt like it. Desmond relaxed and wondered, why isn't he a vampire is she bit him? Well for one he didn't die from the bite and they weren't deep drinks either. He questioned it to himself then realized he said some parts aloud and he turned to her with a form of embarrassment. He smiled and shrugged, still feeling the autumn breeze on his face he looked around and saw the pathway out of the oldern village.

Sola smiles when he speaks aloud, knowing quite well why he hasn't turned. She decides she shouldn't tell him just yet, in case he decides he wants her to turn him. Being a vampire isn't as great as it seems. But, she smiles at him anyways and leads the way down the path and out of the village.
"So, what's brought you here anyways?" She asks, curious.

Desmond looked at her, walking still he shifted his arm and simply smiled.
"The hunters told me to cover this area, I'm the only one here."
He said with a sigh, he didn't want the hunters to find out he disgraced the code so he would have to attend every meeting. They always took place at sunset. Desmond laughed a little and kept wiped a bug off of her head, it flew there just moments before he spoke. Desmond didn't know quite what to do so he just contemplated and walked with her. Mysteries of vampirism... What no normal human should know...

"It will be dangerous for you to be out past sunset, the other vampires will not show as much mercy as I have. Should any find out that I am associating with a hunter..." She trails off into silence, knowing that she is going against one of the oldest laws. Should any of the others find out about this, it will be the end of her days. She walks on in brooding silence.

Desmond took off his leather coat and tossed it on a tree, he looked at her eyes and smiled,
"If I don't seem like a hunter they won't notice as easily."
He wore a short sleeved linen black top now, though he was exposed to more cold he felt lighter, he strapped the rifle to his back though. He was one hunter that used a gun instead of a knife or other ritualistic crap.
"Sola, I am a hunter. I can protect you for as long as I live."
He said assuringly.
He hooked an arm with hers and headed to the other village. He didn't know where it was exactly but he knew it was vampire territory.
Luckily he had a scar on his neck in the shape of a bite from their encounter a year ago. His pale skin was similar to Sola's in a way that allowed him to blend in. Desmond looked around and saw a gate, they were closer now.
"Sola... What are we going to do for the next six hours of sun?"

"I'm not sure." Sola admits. She usually just sleeps through day and night until she is hungry. If the hunters were to find her, she would have to wake and move on. She had traveled for days until she had come across the abandoned place. It is but a small house, one that you would find a commoner living in, and large enough to fit 6 people at the most.
"We'll be going a little ways past here, there is a meadow hidden in the trees where I found the place." She says, looking at him and smiling.

Desmond shrilled and dropped another bundle of equipment, wooden stakes, holy water all the things he didn't use. Human's understanding of vampires were little to none, Desmond was probably the closest to knowing. Then again with knowledge comes a price, when he did find out the chances of her turning him were high. He sighed and looked at her with a small smile, he saw a river and a meadow, he saw many vampires here. One looked at him then quickly went back to working on the house. Perhaps he thought he too was a vampire? Desmond kept a neutral face throughout the walk and waited for Sola to show him her house.

Sola smiles and leads him to a secluded spot. The house blends in a bit with the trees and is not very noticeable to someone who is approaching for the first time.
"Its not much...but right now its home to me." She says as they enter. She had gotten rid of anything that would make the place inhabitable when she had first arrived. It hadn't taken her long to find out the previous owner's unfortunate fate. She lets go of his arm, her own arm dropping back to her side.
"I guess you can make yourself at home here..there isn't any food that human could eat inside, but there is a small grove nearby."

Her voice was light, he brined back and looked at the house. He wasn't quite hungry but food sounded nice. He sat in an empty room and tried falling asleep, he couldn't even manage a few seconds. He wasn't used to the cold hard floor. He stood back up and shrugged. What do you do all day? We just play with the children and train really... I could only imagine what a daywalker would do..."
He grimaced for a moment but rested the thought of how many vampires could be killed right now because of their kind. Racism much?

Sola looks away, sorrowed.
"I don't normally do anything besides sleep..The other vampires avoid me because I am a daywalker." As she speaks, it dawns on her for the first time just how alone she has always been. Her family had kicked her out, any vampire she would cross paths with would either mistake her for a human and attempt to kill her or just flat out avoid her. With this realization comes a pain, the crude pain that only loneliness can bring to someone.

Desmond knew being human was a risk and being a hunter was even more of a reason to worry. He looked around the house and his eyes met hers again. He smiled and saw no threat in her eyes.
Desmond asked with a timid voice.
"Do you have a bed here by chance?"
He didn't know of vampires sleeping as of now. They were very much alike as they were different. Desmond needed the rest but refused to miss training. He was tired now but knew that Sola needed sleep too. He would gladly give his sleep up for her.

"There is one in the bedroom over there." Sola replies, pointing to the door that leads to the bedroom. She had slept in the bed the other night, after she had fed, but didn't have much of a need for it after. She just sits down with her back against a wall. She had fallen asleep sitting like this just last night, having found herself much too tired to move. She is still slightly surprised that she had been able to get up at all today.

Desmond pulled himself onto the elegant bed and draped the covers over himself, he leaned over on his side and closed his eyes. Blankly he smiled.
"This bed is big enough for you too, I don't move around much when I sleep..." he said quietly, not implying anything. He was the type to feel bad for others without much of a reason. Desmond stayed on the side and fell asleep, not knowing what to expect when he awoke.

Sola watches him sleep, contemplating what to do. After some times she gets up and moves cautiously to the bed and gets in on the open side. She moves silently so as not to wake him.
"Thank you, for everything.." She whispers in his ear before sinking into sleep herself.

The blackness of sleep was replaced by a vision, a dream.
His father's face, a rifle shot, his rifle shot... Blood, crying, the horrid look on his face as his father's life diminished, eyes of the dead. Blood on the snow, vampires roaming his own home, fear... There is always fear.
Sola's trembling hand when held at gunpoint, blood, red eyes, anger, sorrow, regret, pain... Extreme pain...
Desmond gasped loudly and threw himself up to sit, he breathed heavily and looked to see Sola beside him. He sighed and looked out the window, dark... His group of hunters may assume he was dead. His coat! He left it away torn by weather. They could assume he died... He punched his thigh and looked at himself, what can he do there's no way to show up now. He had to pretend he was a vampire and avoid BOTH sides.
