Klyde furrowed his brows at her reaction but he was a little hopeful when she actually took the gift. Nodding to her question he nervously awaited her reaction. He hoped it was something she would like, it wasn't anything super expensive or outstanding. It was just something he had seen that made him think of her and on a whim he had bought them...despite the fact he had a feeling he would never be able to give them to her. A pair of hair clips, simple in design but they bore a small black cat on the ends as decoration. Something to hold her hair out of her face because he liked to see it.

In the time it took for Desmond to reach the hospital, Mitsu's tears had dried but her face looked rather hallow instead. When he set her down into a chair she nearly melted into it, her hands a little shaky with anticipation. She hoped Riyo was here...but she was scared that wasn't going to be the case. "Y..yes. Please." She stammered out, hands curling into nervous fists.

Looking back at the gift nervously, Riyo started to unwrap it... Very slowly.

It was obvious she hadn't grown up celebrating Christmas considering how she reacted, but when she finally got the paper off, her eyes peeked into the box, a little surprised at what she saw.

Riyo had never actually worn hair clips, so she couldn't be sure what he was thinking when he bought them...

But it was obvious he'd thought about her. Instead of buying the most expensive item he could find, he got her something small, but meaningful.

Unable to fight back a small, short-lived smile, she gave him a gentle pat on the leg. "Thanks Klyde."

Desmond nodded and walked up to the reception desk, calmly asking the woman if Riyo was checked in.

"Ah, yes. She checked in a couple of hours ago. Who would've known she'd have so many visitors already?"

Yeah, that was fantastic. "What room?" He asked, skipping the semantics.

When the girl finally told her which room, Desmond moved back over to Mitsu.

"She's here."He confirmed, holding out his hand to lead her to the room.

Klyde watched with nervous eyes as Riyo slowly peeled back the paper on his gift. It wasn't a large box but it was taking her a while. As she revealed the item and smiled, though shortly, Klyde smiled with relief. He wished he could make her smile more but even the fact that he could do this much was a miracle in his eyes.

Reaching into the box he pulled out one of the hair pins holding it carefully in his left hand while his right reached up to push her hair aside. Moving with care he placed the hair clip so that it was holding her hair out of her face. Once he was done he smiled, his fingers brushing her cheek lightly before he pulled back. He missed the feel of her soft skin, but he hadn't earned back the right to touch it yet. Still he smiled approvingly, enjoying the sight of her face.

While Desmond was gone asking where Riyo was, Mitsu took to looking around the room like a lost puppy. Her eyes nervously shifted from one thing to another, from person to creature. The smell alone was overwhelming; something between cleaning solutions, bleach, sick, and death. Nothing remotely pleasant on her sensitive nose. But there was also the noise. Shuffling papers, coughing, bleeps and bloops, distant sirens, and even crying. She was so absorbed she barely heard Desmond as he returned.

"She's here."

Only two little words and they broke through like a sludge hammer through a thin wall of ice. Eyes looking to the hand Desmond held out to her Mitsu was suddenly very hesitant. Lifting her own hand up she moved toward him slowly, jerking back slightly here and there as if afraid to go all the way. Finally her fingers slid across his palm and she lightly grasped his hand to pull her way up.

Without a word she followed Desmond toward Riyo's room, her hands shaking all the more the closer they got. It would serve her right if Riyo was mad and never wanted to see her again. If she wanted to beat her in return and toss her out on the street, but there was no way she was prepared for it. When they came to stop outside of the door to Riyo's room, Mitsu couldn't bring herself to do more than stare at it. "I'.....scared."
PostPosted: Sat Dec 25, 2010 8:04 pm

Riyo flinched only slightly as his hands reached out to touch her, forcibly resisting her body's urge to shiver at those cold fingers. She missed it. She missed the comfort of being in those arms. Falling asleep in them.

But she didn't want a quick fix. That wouldn't do either of them good.

When he had finished putting one of the clips in her hair, Riyo looked up at him with a small blush to her cheeks. The hair thing was on purpose. She liked hiding her face. "Out of curiosity, what made you choose the clips?" She asked softly, since she obviously didn't wear hair accessories.

Noticing her hesitation, Desmond didn't say a word. He had an idea of how hard it must be on her... Since the vampire had been in that position just a few hours earlier.

He continued to hold her hand after the fact that she'd been helped up, or at least tried to.

And then she hesitated. Frowning as she simply stared at the door, he looked up at it as well. "At the risk of sounding cliche, you'll never know what'll happen until you go for it. At least this way there's no 'what if's'"

Without waiting for her, Desmond tapped on the door with enough force to make a noise. Better to push her in and start the chain of events than stare at it for the rest of the night.

Klyde furrowed his brow as he opened his mouth to speak and once again nothing came out. He gave a bit of a cough rubbing at his throat looking around the room for something that might aid him in conversation. Thankfully the hospital rooms were at least outfitted with a pad of paper and a pencil. Spotting those on the stand beside the bed Klyde got up to fetch them trying to write out a note as legibly as possible. His hand writing was horrible but when he passed Riyo the note it still clearly read: 'Because I like to see your beautiful face.' He smiled softly to accompany the note wishing he could just speak and not have to converse this way. It would probably be an hour before he could speak properly again.

So lost in everything Mitsu had continued to hold Desmond's hand as well until they got to the hospital room. It was there that she realized what she was doing and finally pulled her hand free from his as gently as she could. She didn't want to just jerk away but it was still far too soon to know how she felt. There was a storm of emotions inside her head at the moment. "We still need to talk to..." She said softly, though her tone was very serious. As much as she wanted to just fall back into his arms so that he could make everything better there was another shadow of a person in her mind now that she was confused about. That she cared about. And she was no longer ready to tell him the words she had wanted to on Halloween. They were lost to her now but that didn't mean there wasn't hope.

With the tap on the door Mitsu shut her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. She still wasn't prepared but she couldn't just stand here or run away....despite how she wanted to. Slowly her shaky hand reached for the doorknob and she pushed her way in, now scared eyes trained to the floor. She had a look of shame on her face for what she had done, like a dog that had unwittingly turned on its master only to realize they were the only love and care they had.

Looking up as the door opened, Klyde saw that it was Mitsu. Even now it was still hard to believe the girl had done this to Riyo but she bore the look of guilt like she had done something wrong. Standing beside the bed instead of sitting he watched the wolf girl carefully for any signs she might do it again...though it looked like she was about to cry.

It was disheartening to watch Klyde try to converse with her. Now without a doubt she knew it was her fault that was happening.

Frowning as he handed her the paper, Riyo looked down and blushed lightly. Though, it would take much more to get her self-esteem up this time.

"Klyde..." She started in, glancing around the room because she couldn't seem to bring herself to look in his eyes. "Are you... Afraid of me?"

It was a valid question in her mind. She wasn't a normal person. Far from it, actually. She had almost killed him, and there were no guarantees it couldn't happen again.

But before he got a chance to answer, there was apparently somebody at the door...

When Mitsu pulled her hand away, Desmond pretended not to notice... That it didn't bother him. It did. "I'll talk to you as long as you want whenever you want after this." The vampire replied, his eyes a mix of sadness and disappointment. If he had hated Nami and Tessa before, that had increased tenfold just by speaking to Mitsu and seeing that those sweet feeling she'd had for him at one time... That he still had for her... Were gone.

Instead of following her in, he decided to wait outside. This wasn't his affair and it wouldn't be right for him to butt in.

As Mitsu walked in, Riyo's face changed. It was a little bit of sadness mixed with hurt and confusion.

Her immediate instinct was to cry and yell. She wanted to tell the girl how bad it had felt to get screwed over by her best friend after everything that had happened. For the girl to take advantage of her weak point and practically use it to achieve her death.

For a moment, it looked like she was about to.

Until she saw an image of herself in those moments. A flashback of how all her old 'friends' had taken it. Not an attempt to even understand why it had happened or listen to her apologies. And by this time in her life... Riyo knew it would only make things worse.

"Mitsu..." Riyo called the girl softly, not a sound of anger but of caring. It was excruciatingly hard not to follow her instincts. Not to scream and cry. Impulse was generally something she lived off of...

But Mitsu didn't deserve that. More than that, it was like giving the girl a second chance Riyo herself had never had. "C'mon and sit down with me."

Klyde focused back on Riyo when she called his name but she looked away from him as if having a difficult time trying to come up with what she wanted to say. When she finally voiced her question Klyde was about to shake his head and place a hand on her shoulder but Mitsu had arrived all too soon.

Looking up slightly Mitsu tried to prepare herself for the anger Riyo might unleash. It looked like the feline was about to start yelling and it was no less than she deserved, but something happened and a much softer tone reached her ears.

Still shaky Mitsu moved into the room, her tail practically between her legs as she took a seat on the edge of the bed. Her eyes darted around a moment to realize Desmond had not followed, then to Klyde, and finally to Riyo. Those crimson orbs were already watery again, threatening to spill over with fresh tears as she looked at the girl.

"I...I'm so sorry, Riyo." Mitsu started in a stammer. "I'm such a horrible friend." She wanted to reach out to Riyo and hug her, but she was certain the girl wouldn't want her that close. Not anymore. "You've only supported and helped me and I just....snapped on you." She didn't know how else to describe it though she felt the word didn't quite fit the crime. "And then I ran away...." The tears started then, her regret running down her cheeks in thick lines. "Saying sorry just isn't enough."

Klyde, not sure if he should leave or stay close placed a hand on Riyo's shoulder. He had a questioning look in his eyes that he wasn't sure would convey the message he wanted to ask. It was awkward being here while Mitsu was crying but if the girl had in fact attacked Riyo he didn't want to leave them alone. Not while Riyo was already hurt. It was a little unnerving for her to be as close as she was.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 26, 2010 5:26 pm

Riyo listened to Mitsu quietly, musing that the girl reminded her a little of Klyde right now. Everybody was apologizing to her instead of vice versa. It was a first.

Before she could reply, Klyde's hand made her flinch slightly, but looking up at him gave her an idea of what he might want. "You don't have to stay." She said simply, but said nothing as to whether she wanted him to or not. It would probably make escaping from this goddamn room easier anyways, so if he left it was no big deal. Riyo would just tell everybody she was staying in the room for the night since the doctors wanted her to, then slip out quietly before the nurses could call attention to the empty room.

Looking back at her friend, Riyo said nothing, but wrapped her arms around the wolf and pulled her close. "Apology accepted." She whispered softly, letting all of her anger go the second the girl begged for forgiveness. "Mitsu, I've been worried that I'd do the same thing to you since we started being friends. I understand. You can't control it. Neither can I." Riyo cooed, trying to soothe the girl's nerves.

Desmond listened to the events in the room silently, relieved that Riyo wasn't upset... though he'd been sure she would've been. Maybe it was he who didn't give her enough credit. Either way... Maybe this would make things easier now. For him and Mitsu... Not that he actually knew about everything that had been happening in his absence.

As soon as Riyo wrapped her arms around her Mitsu turned to do the same. Her forgiveness was a relief to hear but it didn't quite sooth the sting of knowing she had attacked her friend. Her good friend. Her best friend. This was the third person she had attacked and it worried her about who would be next. "I don't know what I would have done.....if I hadn't stopped in time." She knew what she would have done...its what she had already contemplated doing and that thought wasn't quite gone. "If I'd lost you too....and it was my fault....it would have been all my fault." Her words started to blur together in between her crying, trailing off and hardly making sense. It didn't appear like she had a handle on her emotions just yet.

Giving a nod to Riyo, Klyde took up his pad of paper and pencil again and wrote a short note. In his sloppy writing he wrote down 'If you need anything call' underlining the word anything to stress it all the more. Once he handed it to her he touched her shoulder lightly before heading to the door. Quietly he exited seeing Desmond just on the other side. He looked at him questioningly and then back to Mitsu. So he guessed his fellow vampire had brought the wolf girl here.

"It's okay Mitsu." Riyo continued to try and assure her friend, though she somehow doubted she'd be making progress tonight.

"Look. Should've, would've, could've. What matters is... You didn't." Pausing in her words, she took the note from Klyde silently and watched him leave. Boy, it was just one interesting situation after another. Call him? No, she didn't think she would. But he was doing his best, she supposed.

Sitting the note aside, her hands slid up and down Mitsu's back as a comforting gesture, trying her damndest to calm the girl down so she could get the hell out of this depressing room. "I know it's not enough to calm your nerves right now, but keep in mind I'm not holding anything against you, alright?"

Smiling softly, Riyo pulled back a little. "It's gonna be alright Mitsu. But unfortunately I've gotta stay here tonight." Technically that wasn't a lie. Gotta love technicalities.

"Go on home and give Tim some love. Tell him I'll be back soon."

As Klyde walked out of the room, Desmond looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Well that's quite a coincidence." the other vampire couldn't help but say, his mind secretly cursing at fate.

When Riyo tried to reassure her that she wasn't holding anything against her Mitsu tried to nod. It was hard to imagine since she had still gone as far as to put her in the hospital. When she only confirmed that she had to stay over night, Mitsu frowned all the more. It would be lonely here...wouldn't it? And the atmosphere was rather....creepy.

"O...okay." Mitsu said reluctantly not so sure she would be going back to the dorm. There was still a lot of thinking to do and not a lot of energy to do it. Standing from the bed, Mitsu leaned over Riyo wrapping her arm's around the girl's neck and holding her close. "I'm so very sorry, Riyo." She said softly before she pulled back and hesitantly headed for the door.

Klyde raised a brow as well. Coincidence....it was more of a sick joke really. Tapping his throat slightly he tried to indicate he couldn't speak. Desmond had been present for his voice going out a few times so no doubt he got the message. It was still frustrating though to have a barrier in communication.

Giving a short wave the vampire started down the hall, stuffing his hands in his pockets. While the visit didn't go badly Klyde still saw a long and treacherous future ahead of him and he was willing to take whatever steps he needed to reach the end.

Looking back once more, rubbing at her still teary eyes, Mitsu left the hospital room hoping to let Riyo get her rest. Closing the door quietly behind herself she looked at Desmond shortly before she turned toward the hallway. "T...thank you for bringing me." She said softly as she starting walking.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 26, 2010 10:58 pm

Desmond nodded silently to Klyde as he pointed to his throat. He knew Klyde blamed himself for it, but his fellow vampire couldn't help but feel disdain towards Riyo for leaving such a scar.

He kept it to himself, though. Klyde probably didn't want to hear it, as much as he'd like to say it...

Waving his friend goodbye, his eyes immediately turned to Mitsu as she emerged from the room. At her words, the vampire felt terrible. She shouldn't be thanking him, and Mitsu probably knew it.

Following behind her quietly, he pondered what to say for a few moments. "W-would you like me to walk you back?" He asked in an uncharacteristically submissive manner. "Or... I could leave you alone."

Riyo gave Mitsu a pat on the back in return for the hug, then waved as she disappeared. Hopefully the girl would be okay. The feline knew she herself wouldn't be if she stayed in this room overnight.

"Now where's my stuff?" She asked herself, quickly spotting her clothing on one of those guest chairs. They were a little bloodstained, but that was no big deal. The big deal was getting them on.

Her body ached still, and her stomach was especially sensitive, but Riyo managed to dress herself. It just took a little longer.

When all was decent, her feet tiptoed over to the door, peeking out without a sound. She'd zipped up her coat to hopefully hide most of the blood, so maybe they'd end up thinking she was just a visitor. From the way she walked, one couldn't really tell she was injured. Hiding pain was just another talent, she supposed.

A couple of nurses passed making smalltalk, but nobody seemed to notice the red eyes glaring at them from behind the door. When the coast was clear, Riyo slipped out. Pretending to simply be a visitor to another sick patient.

"I'm not going back to the dorm...At least not right now," Mitsu finally added. It was obvious she was tired but her feet just kept carrying her as they walked outside. Pausing once they were outside the door Mitsu looked up toward the falling snow for a moment thinking on what she wanted to do. She wanted to be alone...but she didn't. It was hard to say which desire outweighed the other. The only thing that was certain was if she was alone her chances of doing something foolish increased.

"Let's...talk for a bit," She said softly, wiping at her still reddened eyes and tear stained cheeks. Looking at Desmond shortly Mitsu started to walk following the sidewalk to no where in particular. "I have some things to tell you...I guess. But first off, I want you to know that I do forgive you. I really do...its just...so hard to feel the same way. So much has happened..." She trailed off trying to collect her thoughts.

She didn't feel right not forgiving him, especially after what she had just done. If what he said was true then he was only trying to do what he thought would be the lesser of two evils. But she had to let him know the inner conflict she now had...and if there was a chance things would be like they were before she didn't want to hide what had happened between her and Shun. If it was going to be an issue it would be best to get it over and done with now. It was amazing how much mental growing up she had done in just a couple of short months.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 27, 2010 11:06 am

"Alright." Desmond immediately responded, following a few steps behind her to give the girl space. At that moment, he looked like a little puppy who'd done something wrong, following his master with a tail between his legs and slow pacing...

She... Had things to tell him? At that moment his mind couldn't fathom what she could mean by that, but the fact that she'd forgiven him gave him a small bit of ease. Not that he'd be able to keep it after he found out what had been happening.

"I... Understand..." The vampire said reluctantly, looking at the ground. At least now maybe he'd be able to approach her at school... If that ******** Shun wasn't around. Which he usually was. Desmond was by no means afraid of the guy, he was just afraid of what he'd do to Mitsu's friend if the little s**t caught him on a bad day. Magic or not. "I really wasn't expecting everything to just fix itself anyways." He'd betrayed her trust, much like his parents had done to him many years ago...

And he still hadn't gotten over it.

It looked like Riyo had escaped the hospital without a hitch. One nurse had stopped her in the hallway, but it was only to make sure she knew where she was going.

As she took a breath of the cold winter air, her mind sharply reminded her of something.

Was she supposed to go clean Neko's house today?

... Oops. Well, if she was, Riyo certainly had some explaining to do. Glancing around to get her bearings straight, her legs carried her towards the bachelor pad. Though her mind didn't feel as if it was done with her yet. Plaguing her with thoughts she didn't really want to contemplate at the moment with each step she took. If only there was a way to shut it off..

Wait. There was. Booze.

... Like she had the money for booze anymore. What a painful realization that was.

It took her a little longer than usual to end up on the janitors door, but when she was finally there, there was no hesitation on ringing the doorbell. It was cold. She ached, and more than anything, she was miserable. It sorta outweighed any fear that the man would be pissed at her.

Hearing Desmond's comment, Mitsu nodded. There was no real quick fix, as much as she wanted there to be. "I don't....I don't know how you'll feel after I tell you everything." She wasn't sure where to start, there was so much that filled her mind. Maybe it would be best to start at the beginning?

"Halloween....was very hard on me." She admitted. It was easy enough for everyone to see but she had actually never said so. "What happened at school....I never expected in the slightest. And that time I snapped. I don't remember much of what happened but I remember seeing that I had hurt you and despite what had happened....I felt horrible for it." Her voice had started to quiver a little, but her eyes were finally cried out, unable to tear up at the moment. "I didn't really know what to do or how to feel...I still don't..not completely. I'm lost between feeling upset and betrayed to feeling guilty and regretful for what had happened. The day after, I spent all day trying to figure out what I had done wrong to deserve it."

It was a little relieving to finally tell him this...or anyone for that matter. She had done her best to keep everything bottled up to avoid making it worse but in fact the issue had only inflated from within threatening to explode. Only pausing shortly Mitsu continued. "Then our parents were supposed to be there at school. My brother didn't show up..." Brother....that sparked a memory. Eyes going a little wide Mitsu patted at her pockets and realized finally that she was missing something. Something important. A little bit of panic in her eyes she tried to think of where the ring could be. "Oh god.." She whispered softly unable to think of what had happened to it. Maybe she had dropped it? "I have to go back to school..." Was all she said before she took off in a run.

Neko had been sitting at his table enjoying a few shots of bourbon, well aware at this point that Riyo wasn't going to show up. It was the holidays but Neko couldn't help but feel a little irked none the less. Maybe he had been looking too forward to having company? Hard to say.

So now he sat drinking the night away and despite the weather he wore a sleeveless shirt, the tattoos on his arms clearly visible. The house was rather warm over all since he had a fire going in the living room area. In fact he needed to go get some more fire wood. As soon as that thought crossed his mind he heard a knock at the door. With an irritated sigh he started to push his way from the table. Really it was so late, why did Riyo even bother to come?

"Do you realize what time it is?" Neko called as he started toward the door. "I don't know why you bothered to come out here at all, you-" He had opened up the door and caught sight of the girl, his words suddenly lost to him. He could smell the blood on her clothes over the scent of the fireplace and her face looked utterly miserable. "You look like hell what happened?" Gentle words for sure, but he stepped aside to let her in.
