"My mom was a dog trainer, and my dad was a dog groomer. And for as long as I can remember, Ive always had at least two dogs. I know were your coming from." Cael smiled.

Kania leaped from Laura's arms at the sight of their home, and made a motionthat suggested she was about to run wild again; Laura quickly grabbed her collar. "Oh no you don't, Kania."

Laura slid down the hill, still on her feet, Kania back in her arms. At the bottom, she steadied herself,then looked up at Cael. "Coming?"

"Nice, but you're a little off balance." Laura said, smiling. Then she began walking towards the cabin. She realized she had left the barn gate open, and this worried her. "s**t! I left the gate-" At that moment, she was tackled by eight siberian huskies, all pushing to get to her face and lick it. She laughed, pushing them all off. "God, calm down you guys." she said, smiling. Shane watched Cael warily, growling with his teeth bared.

"Aww, he's just being protective." Laura cooed, petting Shane's head, her hand flattening his ears. He immediately stopped growling and stood, rubbing against her like a cat.

Shane's ears went back, he bared his teeth and growled. Laura smiled. "Shane doesn't like being called cute by anyone but me." she said, petting him again. This instantly transferred him back to cuddle mode.
