"Basil," Malodore said, raising its hand. "It can induce immobility, and may even have psychotropic effects. Apparently humans use it as food..." Its home had quite the collection of Italian books, rife with references to the stuff, and one or two of the rarest - taken from the Human World by some ancient Cirurgien - were cookbooks. Using basil. As a common and apparently delicious ingredient.
Shudder.

Cadmus clapped.
"Okay well Lets continue on shall we, We've covered all but one of the herbs specifically dangerous to Monsters. Shall we do Demons next?"
He grinned glad that it had seemed most everyone was eager to participate.
"And lets keep things rolling don't want to have to take the paper with you as additional homework."

Carthusia frowned. Now it was time for her to learn about herbs that would be dangerous to her own kind. She shuddered a bit, glancing through the book before raising her hand. "Southernwood wards off demons..." she said warily, hoping nobody else would get the bright idea of ringing the entire demon dorms with it or something. "According to this, cowbane is pretty deadly to any and everyone, demon or otherwise." Did that count too?

Oh jack, oh jack, jack, jaackk why was she late to every single class?! wasn't she supposed to be getting good marks? This certainty wasn't going to help. Her wings working overtime, Astra zipped around a corner and, spying the door to the classroom she flew onwards and then downwards so she could land and creep in. Unfortunately, this did not go to plan and instead she landed, tripped on her own momentum and went tumbling head first into the classroom.
Ahh, what a brilliant entry that was...
's-sorry!" she squeaked out out and made a beeline for the nearest desk. In her hurry to take a seat she almost feel off the chair, but eventually managed to sit properly and take out her copy of the text book, jamming her head into the pages so no one could see her face.

Cadmus was pleased that already they were rolling smoothly into the demons dangers.
"Good Carthusia, I hope I have that right. 2 points for you. What else class?"
Cadmus had just finished his small sentence when a student did roll into the classroom. With an amused look at the extravagant entrance he waved off the sorry.
"It's quite alright."
He motioned toward the board where he was writing down the answers the other students were giving.
"We are just covering what plants are dangerous to specific races. and what plants are dangerous to everyone. Right now we are covering Demons. Just participate and you'll do fine."

Oh Jack, oh Jack, he was late. So very, very late! Morton realized he... probably shouldn't have slept in that day, and that possibly, picking a certain reaper's lap to doze off on hadn't been the most brilliant of ideas he'd had in a long while. When he'd finally perked up and asked what time it was, he'd swiftly realized he was late for class.
He'd fled her side and ran as fast as he could through the campus until he'd reached the classroom, practically charging in right after Astra had, "I... I," the skeletal gargoyle gulped and looked at the Professor, "Very sorry!" that said he followed the ghoul's example and tried to sit near the back of the class, feeling oh so very stupid. Despite lack of blood circulation, Morton was managing to blush slightly in his (more than) mild embarrassment.

Myr was attempting to do a good job of pretending that he had been there the whole time, even if he had come in late, writing the information on the board into his notebook. It was useful information, for everyone, not just the ones that it affected, and he was a little upset that he had missed so much of it. Still, there wasn't anything to do about it now, and he would just have to read up on things after class, especially since he didn't recognize very many of the plants listed.
That was one of the few downsides to living in the underground caves of his family's home, there weren't really many plants around, but he wasn't about to let that stop him. He'd just have to work a little harder to learn what the different plants were, and what they did outside of being dangerous to certain species. . He flipped his textbook open, glancing to see if he could find any plants that were dangerous to demons, or any species other than monster. He wanted to be able to add in at least one thing to the group discussion.

Astra's head popped over the top of her book to look at the teacher as he spoke. "Oh..er, right!" At this time she saw another student had charged in as well, and she felt a little better knowing she wasn't the only one that was late.
Noting the things on the board she pulled out a blank book and started to write them down as fast as possible, before pausing when she realized they were supposed to be participating. Oh, right. Something that was dangerous to demons. She looked to the board again and realized that many plants and herbs had already been written up, so she was running low on a possible answer. However she did have a good grasp on herbs and plant life, having spent much of her time around plants, as well as being taught about many of them before by her parents.
"umm...The plant known as Blood rat can be deadly to any creature, including demons?" She said. "Although, if used correctly it puts the person who drunk it into a deep sleep..."

Aksaja didn't particularly care that he was late . . . he'd been having a nice dream, thanks very much - and didn't particularly want to go to class anyway. But it was sort of a requirement so here he was. Oh yay, plants. Booooring. The lightning dragon sighed softly and made his way to a desk in the back of the room. He practically flopped into the chair, wings draped onto the floor on either side and tail-tip twitching in faint irritation.
Oh there was . . . stuff. They were supposed to write down. Yanking a beat-up notebook out of his bag, he set about doing so, not really paying much attention to the discussion going on.

Feeling it only fair that she allow other students a chance to answer some questions, Riley had remained quiet and poised until the professor mentioned plants that were especially dangerous to demons. She clutched her hand against her table slightly, nails digging lines into the wood, but made no further action. She didn't quite like this topic of conversation, clearly.
In order to distract herself from what seemed like a dangerous classroom topic, she pulled a folded piece of paper from within a small pocket on her side. She unfolded the paper, and began writing a few notes on it. The paper was her career counseling assignment, and she thought this would be an ideal time to scratch it off her to-do list. She seemed fairly interested in the professor, and the way he handled student's questions and lateness. She certainly had a lot to write about with him. It was too bad she couldn't take a picture.. for posterity's sake alone, of course.

Hm. Well. West didn't know anything about this stuff. It was a shame, too. The avarice demon could definitely see how understanding which plants might end his life would be a good thing. He rose quietly from his seat, intending to retrieve a textbook from the back of the room, but instead he was distracted by a bit of paper that fell from his coat. Oh, right. That.
Flopping back down into his chair, West scooped up the crumpled sheet from the floor and spread it out flat on his desk. It was his faculty career assessment form and he supposed he had better fill it out.

As astra waited on feedback for her answer, as well as any other answers the students might give out, she thought it might be a good opportunity to start that career assignment she had to do. The professor seemed like a good teacher to write about, from what she had seen so far.

((>.> So I've never posted Cadmus in the threads and we've only shown the Chibi >.> and another one Official <3 Cadmus))
Cadmus want to chuckle as more students seemed to spill into the classroom. Pleased that all though they were late they saw fit to show up late then not at all.
"Well I'm glad we are all showing up to class eventually. If more come in I'll explain it all again, however for now you may ask your fellow classmates if you feel overwhelmed."
He jotted Blood rat down on the board under the plants dangerous to everyone.
"Good Good. Blood rat is always dangerous. The chances of succeed if you are not a skilled expert and 1 and near infinity chances of succeeding, and even skilled masters of alchemy and the sorts have only a 1 in 4 chances of succeeding. Unless your a god with the mixture in which you have a better chance of getting it right."
He made note of the student how had made the comment about blood rat. Cadmus was pleased, she and a few others, he hoped would be coming back to the second course he'd be teaching. Though he sensed that attention was waning and he frowned. Apparently not many wanted to discuss what was dangerous to demons...
"Come class fret not. It is important to know what is deadly to yourselves and your friends."

Wow, this class was pretty boring. It didn't even seem like the teacher was going to do anything to them for being late. Or for filling out those faculty assessment things rather than paying attention. For a moment, the lightning dragon considered getting his own assessment out, but then shook his head slightly. Maybe later.
Pulling out the textbook instead, he started randomly flipping through the thing, making no real effort to find something dangerous to Demons. One entry jumped out at him, though, and he murmured, "How 'bout this White Willow stuff?"

Ithilethiel was always late. Always. Even to this, what would possibly be her favorite class. Of course she wasn't sure if it really would be her favorite class yet. She only knew that she loved plants, and hoped that this class would be enjoyable.
She came in as silently as possible as the professor was speaking.
