Iolanthe jumped as Braum suddenly placed a hand on her shoulder and spoke. She managed to stifle the yelp that seemed to be her go-to response for surprises but her hair flared out dramatically and stayed that way until she realized who it was. With a small huff and a frown, she slowly lowered the prehensile tendrils back to her shoulders and crossed her arms over her chest.

"No!" she said, defending herself. For once she actually wasn't trying to be mean or insulting to anyone, she had actually been genuinely concerned about him - even if her concern lay primarily in the fact that he was a good leader and she wanted him here to guide everyone (and most importantly keep herself alive). "I just wanted to know what happened, especially since you're a little late to the party." She noticed the small flicker of emotion across his face but she couldn't have said what it was, or why, so she just turned to look at her brother and the commotion he was causing as a means of ignoring it. She loved good gossip, but she didn't want to kick Braum while he was down - especially since she was so dependent on him at the moment.

"This is my brother Gabrian," she used one tentacle-like strand of hair to point out her brother to Braum. Any other time she would have commented on how very not masculine it was for a big snake demon to be toting around a tiny bunny, but it looked like the bunny was holding her own. "He likes to complain about the snow because it's not thawed enough for his tastes." She smirked and turned her attention back to Braum, pleased with the way she had acknowledged Gabe's incessant whining.

"Is there anyone else coming?" She turned from Braum to all the other members, the new-comers from Gromble included. It seemed everyone was going to be moving on in one big group and she supposed it would be inconsiderate to not ask if they were waiting on more friends. What a change of heart Io had - she was actually trying to be considerate.

Then, from behind her somewhere, someone called out Braum's name. Just as she turned to look at the newcomer, she saw something flying at her. "Great," she breathed under her breath, "that break from this crazy place didn't last very long." She glanced up at Braum expectantly - maybe because the new girl seemed to know him or because she wanted to see what he thought of the new enemy they were about to face.

A mountain in the distance grumbles deeply and starts moving toward you. Oh wait, it's not a mountain in the distance, it's a yeti that's getting really very close. "Cousin Maynard?" It asks as it approaches you. It seems kind of friendly? You hope. "You owing me twelve peppermint points..." Maybe not.

Iolanthe jumped as yet another alien voice approached her from nowhere. Where in jack's name were these things even springing up from?

Desperate to keep the strange, presumably very unintelligent creature from getting any closer, she whipped open her backpack and pulled out her Sack of Joy. Much to her disappointment, her aim was no better this time around than it had been last time - probably because she was too busy shivering from the cold. The handful of presents she launched all missed completely, landing with dull thuds in the snow around it.

"I am so obviously not related to you!"

Each and every step the djinn took was laborious. Exhausted, cold down to the bone, jogging through ankle deep snow was no easy task. Her legs from the knees down were numb, skirts and silk slippers thoroughly soaked and offering zero protection from the biting cold of the environment. If she'd been creature of a warmer element she'd have long since frozen by now, but her connection lay in water, and even in the dead of winter water flowed, up to a point. The borrowed coat offered some protection, keeping her core and upper body warm, shielding her thighs from the wind. The band of black fabric wrapping her head wound was actually doing a lovely job of keeping her brow protected from the cold.

She'd retrieved her pack, slinging it back over a slender shoulder, though it's weight was certainly not helping her progress any. She would swear the thing was getting heavier if logic didn't argue against the possibility of that. If not for the tent she would have likely left the damn thing behind, having more then enough pockets now for the Carol of the Bells and pumpkin pills, but at some point, hopefully soon, she was going to have to sleep, and she would need that damn tent.

As the tree line started to thin and give way to snow covered boulders and rocky out crops she knew she was getting closer. Closer to their goal, closer to -Braum-. He'd promised to take care of her and Belle, and she had every confidence in him keeping his word. If only she could get to him.

Digging deep, Yaya drew on the last of her energy reserves, putting on a final burst of speed so she could catch up with the weak outlines of students speckling the distance. Close, so close. "Braum!"

Something flies at you out of nowhere! A snow...bullet? "That was a warning, shot, see?" Sneer what you had thought was just a random pile of snow. "But these here parts belong to me, and I don't take kindly to strangers." It cocks it's arm and aims.

The snowball took her squarely in the side of the head, drawing a startled yelp from the djinn as she pitched sideways into the snow. Too surprised and just plain tired to even attempt to keep her balance. At least the snow was soft, cushioning her fall. She couldn't say the same for the frozen projectile that had knocked her bandage askew, adding even more color to already hideous bruise she had blossoming on her temple. Had that mobster snowman been aiming for the previous injury?!

How DARE something ambush her. She was shocked, SHOCKED! Then she heard Braum calling her name. It made her look aorund for him, spotting him darting in her direction, bu the was still quite far away, and the snowman was considerably closer. Looks like she had no choice but to fight. Rolling up onto her knees the djinn scooped up a large handful o snow herself, packing it tightly before hurling it with all her might at the blazing cherry o the snowman's cigar..

Which she missed, the snowball whizzing just past the rim of his hat. "Oh jack.." She bite off the end of the curse.

Iolanthe's eyebrows shot up as the creature suddenly roared in anger. How on earth could it see a relation between her and itself? They absolutely looked nothing alike!

Just as she was about to deliver some more verbal abuse, however, she saw the yeti pick up a giant boulder. She yelped as it was suddenly soaring her way - barely managing to throw herself out of the way as it landed right where she had been standing. She hit the snow with an 'oof', groaning to herself as she felt the cold biting at her skin. She had no time for complaints, sadly, because she knew that thing was probably not going to stop.

Glancing back at the boulder, she saw that it had crumbled into pieces on impact and picked up a hefty shard. With a grimace on her face and a small narrowing of her eyes, she heaved it at the fluffy white monster.

"Take that!"

"Very nice to meet both of you!" Alessa said to Livi and Braum, seemingly genuinely pleased. The little smile showed it too. "And you have the most wonderful manners!" Seriously, she had never met boils that bowed and such before. It was rather refreshing, considering she had just been snatched up against her will and held hostage. Exaggeration, but still against her will.

She was about to say something else when she saw a big white creature appear and go after Gabe's sister. She immediately ducked her head, nestling it down into the crook of Gabe's arm. Okay, monsters didn't usually scare her but...would you look at the size of the teeth on that thing? She had an uncomfortable image of it grabbing her by the tail and downing her in one bite. No, no, she decided she was going to stay quite until the thing either ran off or got its butt kicked. She felt just a little too vulnerable in this form.

"Oh, but what sort of threat is that to a water djinn?" She tried for confidence, and perhaps managed it as her next snowball struck the mobster in the midsection. She was going to have to do better then that, though.

Getting to her feet, the marid hiked up her snow soaked skirts, running towards her adversary. Closer meant better aim, right?

Wrong. Closer meant she took the snowball straight to the face, and with far more force.

"THEN I MAKE YOU PAY UP!" Angered by your failure to pay up, it heaves a large rock...well....okay, lets be honest, it's a freaking boulder, in your direction.

No Damage

Iolanthe scrambled to pick up another piece of the broken boulder, still shuffling on her knees. She should have just taken the jack damn time to stand up though, because as she hefted up the next piece and tried to toss it the yeti's way, it only fell quite short.

"Jack dammit," she groaned in frustration, pointing one clawed finger at the yeti. "I don't have any peppermint points!

Yaya managed to put an end to the cigar. Which made the gansta snowman angry to put it lightly.

The death of the cigar was rather satisfying after the snowball to the face. Wiping the ice rom her eyes she darted forward, ready to throw her shoulder into the thing when it suddenly lashed out. His branched hand taking her across the cheek, spinning her around as she let out a yelp. That HURT!

She drover her elbow back into the round body of the mobster, silently cursing him as she clapped a hand over her now bloody cheek.
