Dorian smiled" Why yes it is, and thank you. I haven't been back in town long though, I used some connections to get the building and from there it was just finding the right atmosphere to give it." he looked around for a second." But honestly I thought it would be more popular in this part of town. But enough about me and my boring little business, I honestly opened the place to be a place for people to go to help solve there problems in one form or another. It seems a few of you might be in need of that, am I wrong?"

"Not even close, Dorian. I'd say you're more...right on the money." The fact of the matter is, Rogue could go to her own establishments in the city, but sometimes it wasn't always smart to hunt in the same area of town.

Plus, she wanted to get out of her normal habitat to try and clear her mind.

Rogue poured more scotch into her glass as he had left the bottle. She took a drink and took a drag on her cigarette.
The toll...oh I don't even know what firm footing is anymore...
Rogue's mind flashed, and for a moment, her eyes glowed bright green. She shut her eyes as if a sudden migrane had taken place. She clenched her hand on the barstool, bits of wood crunching under her hand.

Her mind filled with red and she felt the weight of fangs in her mouth.
Control, damn it...nnn....nn.....
With her head down, she stood slowly. "Please excuse me." She made her way quietly to the bathroom.

Dorian looked at the others at the table and gestured to where Rogue had been. A quizzical look on his face,"Let me guess, some form of undead spawn. Vampire maybe?" He looked around noticing no one sitting at any of the close by tables." Would you all prefer our... Specials, menu?"

"I've always found that bar hopping is the best form of therapy, so you are right on the money" Alexz said with a smirk.

She focused on Dorian while she spoke, but she was highly aware of Rogue's behavior. The crunching of the barstool made her arch a brow and her eyes followed Rogue as she excused herself, but she said nothing.

Returning her attention to Dorian, she nodded, "Vampire indeed; guess you fireslingers aren't known for your sense of smell? Must be all the smoke," she laughed, "And perhaps we would. What would be on said Specials menu?"

Dorian grinned, and unholy fire burning behind his eyes." Well that depends, everyone has there wants and needs and everyone comes here to see them met. Some want power, some want weapons, some want prey. We do have a few rooms down stars that pertain to the tastes of those who can not be refreshed by the fine fair we have up stairs. I never break a law, I never force people into anything, so depending one what you want or what your understanding of the world is then there might just be allot of interesting things on that menu...Or nothing at all."

Rogue took a long breath to steady herself in the bathroom. Both hands clutched at the sink.

She tried to focus on her fangs to retract. Her mind was still red, and there was a hole in her stomach both from the void and from the Sanguinarian the void was trying to make lose control. A quiet growl came from her mouth that resembled the sound of a lion.

Then she heard the heartbeat in the room. She heard the blood sloshing in the veins of some young woman behind the stall door.

The woman opened the door and went to the sink to wash her hands. Rogue had hid behind the door waiting. In a moment, Rogue's fangs were in the woman's neck and there was not even a scream to escape the woman's lips. Rogue bled the woman until there was nothing left.

She released the corpse and dialed for cleanup. She at least had sense enough to do that. While the crew were on their way, Rogue tucked the woman neatly in a stall as if the woman was merely doing her business.

She licked the blood from her mouth and chin and wiped the rest away. She shook her head trying to remove the red from her mind. It slowly faded and her fangs painfully retracted.

Now stay there. She told herself through gritted teeth.

With that she walked out into the main bar again and smiled politely at the small party she had left.

Kensington watched as Rogue left and then returned after a brief interlude. Upon her return Kensington noticed a few changes. Firstly that there was a very feint glow in her eyes, secondly that her aura seemed energised, and finally there was the smell. Very faint, hardly noticeable but it was there all the same. Fresh blood.

He smiled, Had a little fun out back now did we? the thought was sent directly into Rogue's mind. 'You should really be more careful, you never know who may be watching!'

A look of mischief flashed briefly across his face as his gaze met hers, he winked and smiled at her before taking a drink from his glass and turning to face the rest of the group.

'You should be wary Sanguinarian, someone might try to take advantage of your lapse in focus.

Rogue let her eyes fall on Kensington and a grin fell on her face but never touched her eyes...the eyes still glowing as they shouldn't...the soft green fire that she couldn't quite control...

And would it be you to take advantage of a woman when she's having an off day? She spoke the words into his mind and lifted her eyebrow, each echo of the words dripping with sarcasm and perhaps a threat...who could sure.

Her eyes did not leave Kensington's as she spoke to the bartender.
"A glass of slivovice, please."

There were still tints of red at the edges of her vision, but the current company she held didn't need to know the depth of the slight insanity she had been feeling for the past several months. Perhaps it was a demon messing with her family line...or witches. She didn't know, but she felt unnatural...and the void itself used her weakness at every turn.

Alexz began to answer Dorian when the frantic thoughts of a young mortal woman flooded her mind. The thought patterns of someone in his or her final moments were familiar to any vampire created before the availability of blood packs, after which draining mortals became unecessary. She had abstained from draining mortals for a very long time before the Diamond had broken her self-control and resulted in a mass blood bath. She tensed and shut her eyes at the recollection, her fangs involuntarily elongating. As the woman's panic increased, so did Alexz's tension, causing her hand to tighten around her glass and shatter it. When the woman passed, it all subsided.

Brought back to her senses by a dull pain in her hand, Alexz opened her eyes and slowly took in her surroundings, as if she were waking from a dream. Looking down at the shards of glass she frowned.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I lost myself."

She seemed to be losing herself more and more frequently and it wasn't a feeling she enjoyed. Her eyes met Rogue's briefly as she returned to the bar, confirming what had just occured to the unsuspecting woman in the bathroom. After focusing her energy on retracting her fangs, she disposed of the mess she had made and murmured another apology before excusing herself. Slipping quickly through the crowd, she made her way to the bathroom to rinse the blood from her hands and by the time she entered it, the corpse had already been removed.

"Nothing quicker than a vampire clean-up crew..." she thought to herself as she ran her hands beneath the running water and collected her thoughts.

Lance shuffled a bit anxiously into the Heaven's Reach bar, tugging awkwardly at his long, golden blonde hair, which he'd managed to comb down somewhat, although it was still, to be frank, adorably fluffy. First of all, before anything, he inhaled. Somewhat older, and somewhat, just barely, more experienced about life in the city as a lycan, he'd started being more cautious, or at least aware of what immortals were around him. What he found here, or at least what the thought he had, sent his heart racing, and an inexorable flush crawling up from his neck, to his cheeks. Before he could stop himself a quiet, half frightened, half anxious whimper floated out of him. His eyes slid across the place swiftly, and...yep. There was Rogue. He tried, in vain, oh so very in vain, to draw himself out, to at least look like more then a suddenly bewildered pup. Of course, seeing the vampire had sent his mind reeling back to his last, brief, terrifying, and...intriguing encounter he'd had with her. Not that she was likely to remember him as anything more then a tasty snack, if even that. When someone pushed past him gruffly, muttering he realized he'd blocked the doorway, and stumbled forward hesitantly to the bar, where he ordered a soda, and drank it quickly, hoping the chill of the drink would erase the strawberry hue of his cheeks, which stood out all the more against his hair.

Kensington sat facing the barman but he could feel Rogues eyes fixed upon him. He smiled slightly, showing his elongated fangs. 'Was that a threat my dear? I enjoy a challenge, and you would certainly test my abilities.' He sent a wave of psychic force at Rogue, not enough to cause damage, but it would get her attention. 'I am powerful Rogue, more that you may know. You may well kill me, or I may even kill you. Such a fight it would be! One that would go down in the annals of vampiric history.' He turned and looked directly into her eyes. 'But no, I am not here to challenge your leadership, only to warn you that others will not be as forgiving. I have made an oath to follow your lead. I am accused of being many things, but an oath-breaker I am not.'

'Besides, you are a friend. I treasure few things more. But I'll keep you on your toes.'

His gaze quickly darted from Rogue to the newcomer just entering the bar, Kensington didn't need his psychic abilities to recognise a Lycan, he could spot them a mile away.
'What is this city coming to?' He said aloud.
He waited for the beast to take a seat before getting up and standing behind him. He carefully drew his pistol and placed its barrel into the small of the Lycan's back. He leaned forward and spoke quietly into his ear.
'One false move in here and I will redecorate the bar with your innards. Now, unless you have business with one of us I suggest you finish your drink and piss off!'
Kensington withdrew the pistol and holstered it before returning to his seat. He never took his eye of the lycan.

Lance stiffened, shrinking away away from the gun against his back while it was there, and by the time it was withdrawn he was literally at the edge of his seat. Stammering unintelligibly, eyes fixed straight ahead, he nodded, not daring to even look at the vampire who he thought was a hyper-aggressive maniac. He wasn't about to say it though. Unfortunately for him, he thought it quite loudly. Telepathy, mind-reading, he'd only very briefly been exposed to such things before. Maybe if he just sat here...drank his soda, and was quiet, he'd be ignored. You weren't allowed...well, supposed to just shoot people in here...right? He'd thought it was meant to be a neutral ground. Head down, he let his eyes flicker around the bar, and his thin nose twitched...there were at least a few other lycans in here. "That guy has to be some kind psychopath..." He thought briefly, and rubbed his face. Well, at least the stubborn flush had faded. He was deathly pale now. Heart was still racing though. His fear heightened his awareness, and eventually he picked up on Alexz, even if it took him some time to realize she was the same vampire he had...encountered in central park. He was...not terrified by knowing she was here. She'd been..cordial, at least, then. Kind, given the circumstances. All the same, Lance started to his feet, and began to shuffle away from the bar, and kensington, moving deeper into the club.

Rogue felt his psychic push and her eyes grew a brighter green. A deep throated growl began to rise in her throat involuntarily and her look to him could burn through stone. She set a hand to the drink the barkeep left for her, and put it to her lips taking a sip of the slivovice, while her eyes did not leave his face.

"You are powerful. There is no denying such a thing, friend, and I value your loyalty. But don't forget for a second what hides beneath my exterior. To underestimate my gifts and talents would be something I even do to myself...and in too many ways that has been one of my best tactics for staying alive all these years.

Rogue moved her tongue over her teeth still tasting the remnants of the woman from the bathroom.

So as a friend, I can assure you, something is amiss within me, and my siblings drawing in...an almost untamed hunger within us and awakening the Sanguinarian blood rage....yes, it is always there beckoning, but its as if any control I've learned are being stripped...but it feels unnatural.
I feel unnatural.

In some ways we become at peace with the monsters we are.
This is not me.

She looked down at her glass.
"Oh, believe me, I'm on my toes." She didn't want to admit any form of weakness to Kensington, but he was right. He was sworn by an oath, and no matter how much he pushed her, he was on her side...whatever that side was.

Doing something as simple as washing her hands made it easy for Alexz's mind to wander. She felt a lycan entering the bar and immediately identified it as Lance, the timid and harmless boy she had met in Central Park some time ago. It was easy to tell by his thought patterns that he felt bashful and anxious around Rogue. As he began to feel frightened, she frowned; at first she assumed that his object of attention had been the source of alarm, but she quickly saw that it was Kensington.

As she returned to the bar, she sent a wave of force at his mind, "He's just a child, he means no harm nor is he capable of more than a scratch," she sharply spoke into his mind, "You were given a gift, use it...thinking before acting is what separates us from the animals."

Her protective and tolerant spirit had survived the transformation from human into vampire. Being gifted with psychic abilities gave her entry into the minds of millions, and over the centuries she had learned that all creatures were more alike than different. She found it impossible to be prejudiced against different races because she had the ability to relate and understand. Alexz was most definitely the most empathetic and tolerant of the Vampire Elders, but she was not weak. She simply felt it was more beneficial to find justifiable reasons for conflict rather than snapping her fangs at everyone who was different.

Kensington laughed at Lance's thoughts, his psychic reply burned into the lycan's mind, undoubtedly causing him some discomfort. Kensington was not going to be gentle. 'A Psychopath you say? I have done things that would baulk even those misguided fools. They say we are animals but have you seen what man does to each other during war? I have, and let me tell you there is nothing humane about the way they destroy one another. But do not fear little stray, this is neutral ground and I will not be the first to dishonour the truce. Still, your kind must be reminded of their place.'

He was mistrustful of the Lycans, they had caused nothing but unending strife for him and his Coven back in England, almost causing its destruction. They had tried peaceful co-existence, but the Lycans had conspired with other races against them. It was in their nature, after-all, Vampires and Lycans had been sworn enemies for centuries.
His recent excursion back to the homeland had changed his view on the lesser races. He would always view them as dangerous.

He felt a sudden build up of psychic force just before Alexz shot a shock wave at him. He blocked it with a flick of the wrist which caused all the glasses and bottles behind the bar to rattle briefly. He turned to face her, a fiery glint in his eyes. 'Now, now Alexz my dear! Don't spoil my fun, I'm just educating the animal on his rightful place in the world, no harm meant. Yet.'

He chuckled, 'You really are too tolerant of the other races Alexz, mark my words it'll come back to bite you.'
He winked at her and blew her kiss.
