The wind was a power deterrent, which forced Varn's kick backwards as well as the rest of his body. He managed to get his other leg on the ground to prevent him from falling over, but he wasn't finished just yet, again closing the distance between himself, lowing his stance to prevent him from being blown away again, and bringing his elbow up for a attempt to elbow him in the ribs.

The wind user was able to move out of the way fairly easily, the air he was moving around his body making him light on his feet. No doubt he should be slowing down soon from all the magic use but he wasn't showing any signs of fatigue just yet. As Varn moved passed him with an attack that had missed, the wind user decided to try and bring down his own elbow to the back of Varn's head. His stance was a little lower so the shot was a little easier.

Thankfully Varn was able to see this attack in time, otherwise it might have knocked him out cold. Forgetting about his own attack, he almost fell to the ground in his rush to escape the blow, landing on his hands and feet much like. Leaning forward, he spun his body around, his leg aiming to sweep the wind user off his feet. He hoped he wouldn't have to fight this guy much longer, as he was getting exhausted from the continual blows this guy was able to dish out. Perhaps he should start learning magic too

The next attack Varn made was successful....partially. While the wind user hadn't seen the attack coming and his feet were swept out from under him he never hit the ground. The wind rushed up and around his body to slow his decent so he had plenty of time to flip back and onto his feet. When he was upright again the fatigue was starting to show in the form of sweat beading across his face, his breathing a little deeper though he did his best to keep it even. He wasn't about to show how really tired he was.

Damn, he had forgotten about that. But while it was annoying, it did leave a chance for another attack. As the wind user regained his footing, Varn stood to his feet as well, not wasting any time as he began to throw punch after punch, aiming to go all out and hopefully exhaust the wind user even further. Judging by his face, so he just had to hang in there a little longer
"YOU CAN DO IT VARN!" Poke shouted from the sidelines, having kept quiet during the fight, but now noticing her friend was beginning to tire. "HAMMER THE b*****d! DO ITTT!"

The wind user was able to avoid the first few punches but a few near the end made contact with his main body, the attacks slowing him down all the more. Hoping to finish this fight off quickly since he knew he wouldn't be able to hold out for long the wind user moved to the side to avoid the last punch, his body now achy and sore. It was only going to get worse as he brought his hand up to face Varn, a strong sharp wind bursting toward the boy. There wasn't as much power behind it as he would have liked but it was still enough to send Varn flying if he didn't manage to get out of the way.

Varn had just enough time to see the wind user lift his palm up to his face, having some idea of what the guy was going to do next. Just as he was unleashing his wind attack, he grabbed hold of the guys wrist, gripping hard as the blast of wind sent him backwards. He knew his landing was going to hurt, but he was determined to take the other guy with him. He assumed though that he would at least weight more then his opponent, so maybe if he could pin him to the ground or at least pull him down, then he would hopefully do some damage.

It was unexpected that Varn would grab a hold of his wrist, the attack now having the same effect on him as he was pulled forward and onto the ground face first. The force that he landed with was rather harsh, his arms tried to push his way back up but he found he really didn't have the strength. "S...s**t." He cursed, the wind around his body whirling once more before it completely died out, his energy now depleted.

Varn had also been thrown to the ground rather hard, but he still had enough in him to get to his feet, Groaning as he stretched his muscles and took stock of what hurt and what didn't. The fight took way longer then he had anticipated, and he wondered if the rest of the hive members would be this hard to fight.
"Damn, That was a bad a** fight man" Poke commented, walking over to check on Varn as well as the guy they had taken down. "I never realized the hive had members like this. Though in a sense..I guess it makes sense. Those bitches would love to have powerful guys on their side, so they can pick on everyone else. ******** little bastards" She stared down at the wind user, glaring at him but did not do anything further since he appeared to be down for the count.
"You have a point there. I just hope our little fight will make them think twice about trying to bully us and anyone else in the future" Varn paused to think about what he had been taught about bullies in the past, how they would back down once you showed you weren't going to cower at their might. However it had seldom worked here; every time they had tried to fight these guys, they seemed to find more of them to fight back. And then get him or someone else into trouble.
"They better! I'm getting sick and tired of their bullshit, especially when they get away with it. I'm not putting up with it any longer"
"Same here..although, could we take a break? I'm feeling rather sore over here"
"Sure thing"

A few days had gone by since the wind user was defeated by Poke and her friends. Word had spread through the Hive, but many dismissed this as the defeated group being a bunch of wusses. It did little to deter them as a whole really. This was rather apparent when a small group of the Hive kids were pushing around one of the freshmen in the courtyard. The three of them had the guy surrounded, shoving him back and forth like he was some toy, giggling and laughing the entire time they were doing so.
"Think ye had enough yet?" grinned one of them as he shoved the guy particularly hard. Enough to send him to the ground.
"Nah, we've just started!" another said while lifting the guy back up to his feet so they could continue their little game.

Their plans may have been prolonged, but it would not stop them from accomplishing their goal. They were gonna take down the hive, even if they had to fight them all!
well..except klyde and desmond...but hey, they were still gonna take on everyone else!
As poke and varn were walking back from their last class, they took one of the many 'shortcuts' back to the dorms, and happened to come across the group harassing one of the newer students.
Safe to say, neither of them was impressed. And it took a lot of their self control to not rush in there and start punching the nearest guy. Instead, they continued to walk towards the group of boys, not stopping until they were standing behind one of them. Varn placed a hand on one of their shoulders.
"Excuse me" he asked the guy rather politely. "But I believe you should stop picking on that kid. It's not very nice, you know"

One of the boys shoved the poor freshman before turning towards Varn with quite the sneer.
"You know what else isn't very nice? YOUR FACE!"
He started to laugh at his own insult before turning around to keep shoving the one guy around.
"Beat it you dweebs!" Another called out to the two. It seemed that they didn't quite realize who it was that was pestering them at the moment. The third guy wasn't even paying Poke and Varn any attention for that matter.

The retort would of been funny to poke under normal circumstances, but now it only made her roll her eyes. As for beating it? as if she was going to listen to these pieces of s**t. Her anger starting to rise, she walked around to the guy who wasn't paying any attention to them, and pushed past him into the circle, Quickly grabbing the guy they were shoving around to prevent him being pushed again. "Hey kid, are you alright?" she asked.
As poke decided to make her move, Varn also pushed the guy who had made the comment aside, moving into the circle but not doing anything just yet. He was keeping a lookout, thinking that since they had interrupted the guys 'fun' they would be willing to fight them now. Which was what he wanted to happen, but he and poke had to make sure the freshman got away before he got seriously hurt.

"Y-yeah..." the freshmen whimpered, obviously shaken from what the others were doing to him.
With a frown, the Hive boy nearest to Poke turned towards her to try and give her a shove, "Hey! I said beat it you dweebs!"
"Hey guys, I think these two are the ones that took out those losers a few days ago," commented the one furthest from the rest. He seemed to finally have acknowledged the ones interrupting their fun here, "Just ignore them. They're a waste of time."

"Don't worry, I'll make sure these guys don't shove you around now" Poke said to the boy, then turned to see one of them moving to shove her. She moved out of the way, moving the kid as well, then stepped closer to guy. "How about, you guys 'beat it', and get the ******** out of my face, you pansy pack of s**t heads, otherwise I'll make you"
"You guys are pretty low for picking on someones in their first year" Varn also commented, keeping close to the other two. "So I suggest you listen to my friend here and get out of our way. And ignoring us isn't going to help you at all"
