Ritsu smiled proudly, "It took me four days...." His tail wagged excitedly, "i like my den to smell like flowers when i wake up..." He looked up and smiled innocently. Now that he was back in his element he was more at ease with himself.

"Hm?" He cocked his head to the side, "Oh....Where are my manners....I'm so sorry...." He stood up quickly, accidentally using his hurt paw. He whined softly, but gestured to the back of his den. "I have....some stored back there..." He sat down and licked his injured paw. He had dug out the earth and created his own pool of water that he always kept filled.

Alamar looked at Ritsu and only shook his head. If you are hurt you shouldn’t push yourself. Alamar walked to the back of the den and noticed the pool. Mm this is even better. All I have to do is get Ritsu to the back of the den and he can lay down and soak his paw. Alamar walked back to Ritsu. Now Ritsu why not head back to the pool and soak your paw. If you require assistance I will aid you in reaching the pool. Alamar stood next to Ritsu so that the other fox could lean on him. He tried to start a conversation so Ritsu wouldn’t end up blushing like the male had a tendency to do. Four days to collect flowers? That’s quite a lot of time and dedication for a den decoration.

Ritsu blinked, why hadn't he though of that? It made a lot of sense to soak his paw in the cool water, that way the swelling would go down and maybe hurt less.

"Oh....." He looked over at Alamar momentarily confused, then beamed suddenly. "Yes.....I am very proud of my den...." He walked to the back of the cave without incident, "I like everything to be beautiful.....and sweet...." He looked over at the male assisting him, and realized that the position put their heads and bodies very close together, almost intimately.

He felt a hot blush creep up to his cheeks, as a tingling sensation raked his body. He had to admit, he felt......good...

Feeling Ritsu’s warmth was one thing, but when the male had swiveled his head he almost ended up kissing Alamar. It was unsettling to say the least. Alamar himself blushed not pulling away fearing that if he did Ritsu might end up falling over. He did; however, turn his head and face the water of the pond rather than being nose to nose with Ritsu. I too enjoy sweet things. I would say I enjoy beautiful things too; however my sister often told me that my eye for beauty was about as sharp as a rounded stone. Smiling despite still being embarrassed and blushing slightly Alamar decided to share a story with Ritsu that few others knew of. Rarely did Alamar tell anyone of the story of his insignia on his tail. Still telling Ritsu seemed fitting in some aspects.

In Tzara when male kits reach a certain age they are allowed to bear their house’s crest on them if they so desire. I chose to do this. My house’s crest is the number eight because in my home land of the twelve great houses and the thirteen lesser houses my own family is from the eighth great house. It was not unsurprising that I would bear the crest though I chose the color was. I picked it after the bow my mother always wore. All I inherited from my mother was her silver eyes so I sought to carry something else with her color so I would feel closer to her. My father merely nodded to my request not asking the reasoning behind it. Many believe it was so the crest would match my own eyes rather than my mother’s bow. My sister asked the real reason behind my choice and teased me for it once I told her. The day I left to go exploring in the outer world my mother gave her bow that I now wear and chose my insignia’s color after.

(>.* Alamar is a momma's boy?!?! when did this happen? *dies*)

Ritsu smiled and listened to the other male, intrigued and excited at the same time that the male felt he could tell a story about himself. Rarely did anyone ever open up and speak to him as such, and it was a blessing he would treasure.

"Hehehe...." He giggled softly as Alamar commented on his sister's opinion on him. "She sounds funny...." He whispered to himself mostly.

Everything about this male was so new and exotic. His homeland, especially the customs. He had never heard anything more interesting in his life. Nothing about his life had ever been extraordinary, not even close. He looked down sadly.

"It must have been.....nice to grow up with such a loving.....mother...." He nearly chocked on the word, tears forming in his eyes that he made the effort to hide.

His ears flipping back and forth Alamar tried to figure out what to do. It certainly was not my intent to make Ritsu cry. How could it have possibly turned out this way? He seems to have some issue with family. Was his own so cruel to him? That would be imposs… Alamar heaved a mental sigh. Out worlders. They are so very strange and at times crueler than they should be even to their own. Alamar lifted a paw and wrapped it gently around Ritsu. In truth this made him very uncomfortable. Such an action was what a mother did to a kit to comfort it or what one mate to console another during the loss of something precious to them. To act so to another full grown male felt odd. Still Alamar could not let Ritsu cry. To do so made him feel as though he had violated a code of some kind, even though none existed in regards to this kind of situation. Pulling Ritsu slightly closer Alamar tried to find something to say. My mother might have been very loving and caring. My father though lived by the code that almost all males live by in Tzara and he rarely deviated from it. He was well respected and honored highly because of this. Due to his many responsibilities I rarely saw him as a kit; save for formal events. As much as I know of my mother, I know little of my father. I believe him to be proud of my accomplishments however. You have certainly turned out to be a kind fox with an honest heart. Even with some issues to your own family there must have been one with whom you shared good times?

Ritsu turned toward the warmth of the other fox, sobbing quietly into his fur. All the painful memories seemed to seep out at once. All the brutality he'd suffered since he had the misfortune of being born the wrong gender rolled around in his head sending him on a mental spiral downward. He never meant to break down in front of Alamar, but honestly he had no control over his emotions. He wept until his throat constricted, and he gulped in a shaky breath.

"N-n-no....." he stammered, shaking his head which caused him to rub against Alamar's chest, "I have...no one.....M-m-my parents never.....w-w-wanted a boy...." Fresh tears formed in his eyes, "F-f-father left when i was a kit...and Mother....she.....she...." He shook his head.

Not knowing what to do Alamar held on to Ritsu and hugged him tighter to himself. That is a sad thing to hear, though it shows how strong you to have endured such an upbringing and turned out as you have. I cannot even imagine the pain and suffering Ritsu must have undergone in his life. How could his father have abandoned them; and his mother not accepted him? The anger Alamar felt toward Ritsu’s parents was unfathomable for the normally calm fox. He wanted to drag the foxes to Tzara and have them face judgment at the hands of adjudicators for what they had done to Ritsu. It is alright Ritsu. It will be alright. The past is the past and you are capable of moving forward anytime you wish. Alamar stocked Ritsu’s fur more gently then the male realized he could possibly be capable of. For a moment Alamar had the notion of telling Ritsu it would be ok because Alamar was here and would take care of him. He did not say that of course because he had only known Ritsu for a moment and saying such would have been … Why not say it? I have no where I should travel. There is no one I need to see. Why not stay here and take care of Ritsu until the male can stand on his own? The worst that could happen is Ritsu will refuse my offer and I will continue my travels once Ritsu’s paw is better and he can hunt for himself.

Ritsu shook his head, "N-no....you're wrong....I'm not strong at all....I'm weak.....Look at me....I'm a freak..." Tears streamed down his cheeks, "I look like a vixen.....i want to be a vixen, but I'm stuck with this body......If i could have changed....maybe my mother would have....loved me...." He mumbled the last part to himself.

By the end of his rant he was emotionally drained, and collapsed on the ground, his paw in the pol of water. He lay limply on the ground. "I want to change....I want to be normal...." He looked up at Alamar, "Could....Could you teach me?" His eyes filled with hope.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:38 pm

Alamar did not understand the question Ritsu was trying to ask. Why would he want to change? He is fine as he is. I can teach you to hunt and to fish. I can teach you codes of honor. I cannot teach you to be ‘normal’. Normal is what is right and balancing for each individual fox. What would be normal for me would be unusual for you. Just as what is normal for you would unusual for me, for instance if you met my half sister who enjoyed teasing me. She would be able to discuss cloths and den decorations all day and night. That would be normal for her. It would be unusual to hear from my mother who would rather talk about relationships and who is mated to whom. Alamar altered his position so he was lying next to Ritsu. For you normal could be dressing like a vixen. I suppose I sort of dress like a vixen myself, since I carry my mother’s bow with at all times. Besides you look rather cute dressed as you are I am certain there is someone out there for you. I can stay and teach you to stand on your own until that person arrives if you would like. Now tell me if this hurts. Gently he reached his paws in the pool and slowly flexed Ritsu’s paw while watching Ritsu’s face to judge how much pain the other fox was in. The motion shouldn’t have caused much if any pain. If it hurt Ritsu then the other fox would probably need to be off his paw for quite some time.

A soft smile touched his lips as Alamar explained normal. No one had ever told him that it was normal to be just the way he is, like it was okay. Everyone had thought it was weird, or that there was something wrong with him because of it. Alamar thought he was cute! Ritsu could hardly believe his ears.

Hope sprang to life, curled warmly inside his chest. Maybe Alamar was right, maybe....just maybe he would be able to find someone that could accept him, love him the way that he was.

"Y-y-yes.....please....." Ritsu looked at the other male with a mixture of awe and respect, "Would you please.....teach me to stand on my own...." He asked meekly, then made a small noise of pain. "N-no.....it doesn't hurt so bad anymore..."

He only nodded to both of Ritsu’s statements. Alamar felt glad when Ritsu had not refused his offer. He is very sensitive and frail. I have to look after him until he finds someone who can. It would a crime if I left him alone as his is. Even now his is more pain than he lets on most likely. I am going to ask you to stay off your paw for the rest of the day. It should be fine by tomorrow. I will head back to the river and see if I am able to catch us dinner. Releasing Ritsu’s paw Alamar got up and looked Ritsu over. He doesn’t seem strong so focusing on speed or agility would be the best. Those would probably be his strongest assets. I will begin teaching tomorrow morning as long as your paw is better. Does that sound good to you? Part of Alamar felt calmer now that he knew he was staying with Ritsu to look after the other male. He supposed that it was because Ritsu was so very unmasculine that he could not justify leaving the cross-dressing fox alone. Perhaps though it was something else.

(May I time skip in my next post? It will be longer than before since Alamar will be catching dinner and washing off. So chronologically it will be late afternoonish leaning toward dusk. )

(sure ^_^ time skip away)

Ritsu looked at his paw, it was starting to feel better already. Smiling, he looked up and nodded his head. "Okay....." He blushed as the male offered to hunt for him again. It was strange having someone around that wanted to take care of him.

"Teaching?" His ears perked up, as his tail started to wag. "Yes.....Yes....Teaching is good...." He smiled, not sure exactly what Alamar wanted to teach him but he was eager to learn anything. Maybe Alamar could teach him how to fit in with other foxes.

Alamar took off again for the river after Ritsu had agreed to being taught. He left his bow once more in Ritsu’s den. First thing first. I have to teach him how to be able to survive. Taking him fishing might be a good start. Once he shows he can handle that I’ll start teaching him how to evade things like bears, wolf, and other foxes should they be attacking him.

Alamar was so lost in his thoughts that he not only missed his lunge at the first fish, he ended up falling in. Dragging himself out of the river Alamar shook his head and focused on the task at hand.

Quite some time later Alamar was again at the entrance of Ritsu’s den holding fish in his mouth. He headed in after a moment’s hesitation of unease. The fish were cleaned at the river to save on mess and Alamar himself was also clean so he didn’t track mud in on Ritsu’s flowers. He set the three medium sized fish in front of Ritsu then headed off to the other side of the den to eat his own two fish that were carried to the den across his back. Outside the sun was beginning her decent to slumber.

Ritsu smiled as the three fish were placed in front of him, it was a lot for him to eat but he didn't want to be rude and refuse to eat it all. Smiling he started to munch on the first one when Alamar walked to the other side of the den to eat. His first reaction was to question whether he'd done something wrong. Maybe he had broken some sort of code that the other fox believe in.

Horrified, he whirled around intent on apologizing before Alamar was further insulted by whatever rule he had broken by his ignorance.

"A-a-alamar.....w-what ever i d-did.....I-I'm sorry....." He stuttered nervously as he lowered his gaze. It was strange, but over the day he had gotten used to the company provided by the other fox and didn't want him to leave yet.
