Savius nodded approvingly, his fingers buried to the second knuckle in Fen's fur, his attention carefully focused on his friend. He was doing a public service or something, teaching Iamel how to slide.

"Yeah, you just slide." Releasing Fen, he stepped forward, so that he could touch Iamel if necissary, "You want me to hold you or something, your first time?"

"Maybe?" He suggested, hands gripping tightly to the stairs once settled down like he'd seen Savius do. "I might fall..."

Oh, the innuendo. Iamel was unaware of that - they both were - but had they both been older...the amusement would've been fabulous. He didn't want to appear weak but..savius wouldn't taunt him like Diacyn would if he needed help... Diacyn might try to karate chop the stairs, though...

Amusement! "...please? It might hurt..."

"I'll protect you, dude." Savius promised, placing his hands firmly on each side of Iamel's waist. "Just relax."

And oh, if they were older. But they weren't and the young Kestrel was only looking after a friend. With an easy smile and a confident attitude, a promise that the stairs couldn't do any damage while he was around.

"Let go. Trust me."

Iamel hesitated, the promised pressure on his wrists comforting him slightly - if he DID fall, Savius would catch him. Savius would catch him! Yes!

So the hesitation ended, eyes on Savius before squeezing shut and then letting go of the railing. Slowly, slowly, he began to slide, squeaking a bit. "My butt feels funny - I'm moving!"

Distracted by keeping pace with the sliding Iamel, Savius didn't respond, but kept careful contact with him all the way down. At the end of the 'ride' he smirked triumphant.

"Well, what'd you think?" He mussed the other boys hair lightly, smirking, "I told you you'd like it."

Iamel squeaked, hopping off of the banister once they were through, beaming up at the taller pirate gaurdian. "It was fun! but my butt burns... You did it faster!"

He nodded again, even through the mussing of his hair with a grin. "I'll learn to do it faster each time, till I'm fast like you!"

"You get used to the feeling. Think you can handle it without me?" He hopped onto the next banister, and slid down it it quickly, waving up at Iamel as he did so.

Anxious now, to get on to the next adventure, he bounced impatiently on the next landing, grinning.

"Uh-huh..." He watched as Savius slid, hopping up on it. Iamel slid down, using his arms to keep from tumbling every so often.

Either way, he went faster then before, wings flapping and causing a little squeal toleave him, laughing, head shaking. "I did it! Look!" A hop off, stumbling just a little before he steadied himself.

"Cool. Well, c'mon. If we don't hurry all the good squirrels will be eaten." Sliding, apparently had lost its shine for Savius, he bolted down the stairs, they still had quite a few flights to go. Came from living almost at the top story, and rushing downward, the wind in his feathers, felt almost like flying. There were times when he missed flying.

But wind and wings was only one option of many, and he liked his hand, liked his new form and the chances it offered. Liked, most of all, the first ticklings of old power. Soon... soon enough, he would be himself again. And he was determained to enjoy every moment of living until then.

"There are good squirrels?" Said the little clueless wonder, small sneakered feet hopping down the stairs like a bunny rabbit. Sure, Diacyn liked his bunnies and probably squirrels, but he never said there were good animals of that sort.

While Savius was pondering their future... Iamel had no clue. He claimed to be a faucet of death time and time again, yes, but anything past that - past his Shiniee - never crossed his little child mind. It would soon, when he grew older, talked more to Shanuh and explored more of himself...but until then, the woodpecker was careless and whimsical, flirting from one want to another. Consequences were something for older people...not for him.

"Of course. I like the really fat ones. The tiny little skinny ones really aren't worth the effort of chewing." There, they were finally to the bottom of the nearly endless stairway. Savius slowed down his rushed gait, slowly meandering toward the door that led into the lobby. And from there, outside!

The nearness of the hunt had him distracted from his earlier thoughts. The dark whispers he had been reaching for were faded back into the hidden places in his soul. It was only rarely that he could hear them clearly. Life, with all its bright lights and loud noises kept him safely distracted.

"Oh." Again, with the brilliant words. Iamel fought to keep up with the taller (although younger!) boy, hands rushing out to grab at Savius' shirt. The woodpecker was very aware how lost he could get in a place like this but Savius knew where they were going, right?

"How do we hunt?" He whispered, eyes widening still as he peered around the new 'hunting' grounds. Iamel didn't have dark whispers...he had impulses - whims that drove him to blow frogs or cats up, things that made him want to take somethings life. He didn't see it as dark.. It was who he was, wasn't it?

....wasn't it?

Without any seeming malice, Savius tugged at his shirt to free it from Iamel's grip. Friendly, nurturing, helpful? Yes. But he wasn't the sort that allowed much clinging. And growing up with Lithle wasn't helping. He did slow down though, taking shorter strides so that the other Guardian could keep pace.

"We don't, really." Reaching out, he scratched Fen behind the ears. "We're not quick or quiet enough. Fen hunts. We play, and he brings us lunch."

In truth, the arrangement irritated him. Independent as he was, he didn't like someone else bringing his meal for him. But he'd tried numerous time, with no luck. He simply wasn't in a form that allowed for it. And he refused to eat the casually killed meat that Lithle put on the table.

Iamel didn't pout or throw a tantrum when Savius removed himself from his clutching grasp - he didn't care. Textures and colors and touching were a large part of his world... He enjoyed the physical... Just ask Diacyn, he tackles the little s**t whenever he sees him.

Small feet pattered after Savius, glancing up with a blinkblinkblink. "Really? What do we play? Fireworks? I have some firecrackers and a lighter! I like fireworks."

Fireworks? Well, that sounded fun. Savius scanned the park thoughtfully, eyeing potential targets and counting the other people. Only about three kids, playing in the park, and only one parent. Good. It'd be awhile before they were noticed. Savius didn't like the part with the screaming. Not when it was directed at him anyway.

"Fen. Squirrel. Hunt." Short, simple words were best when dealing with his 'puppy', and it certainly seemed to work. The huge beast immediatly left their side and bounded off, following something he couldn't see. "Fireworks? Cool."
