The dog looked at Kane and barked, "Hey, monkey-lizard, you have foods?"
He then looked back at Kei and barked, "No, they run down path and I follow, but they be eated. Master not around, but scent still on ground. Scent ended around here, when find you."

He seemed to straighten a bit at the mention of Kei being of a group of warriors, assuming she was at least to be respected, "I think I underrssstand. Exxxcussse me." He glanced at the dog with a confused look, not understanding dog and then turned from them and ambled back down into the ditch, clawing through the dirt, setting a large case upon the path and a large cloth not unlike a huge blanket, he had been sleeping on it. He began shaking it out a bit, dust and dirt and leaves falling away from it as he cleaned it with care, but it was obvious it hadn't seen a good wash in years. Some patches looked as if they had been burned, shot at, or sliced with a blade, but it was mostly intact.

"I don't think he does..." Kei said to the puppy before nodding to Kane. She watched as he pulled something out from the ditch. She wondered what it was. She just shrugged and adjusted the puppy in her arms and remained silent, her tail swaying every now and then, as well as he tiger-like ears swivelling in different directions to different sounds.

Looking into the sky, Bolt interrupted, "Well, if we are going to travel, we should find some place to rest for the night. It's coming up on sunset now.. and I think it would be best to rest up."
The little puppy looked at Keioko and whimpered, "Can take me? Paws are tired."

Kane shook the cloth out once more and turned to the others, tossing it above him awkwardly and slipping it around him as it came down. There were two arm holes that were large and reached the entire length of his arms, and the necklike actually hid his head within it, creating a bulge representing his hunched back. He looked like a monk of sorts, nothing visible within his cloak, even his breathing controlled so he didn't give himself away. A claw reached out and slung the case up over his back, a metal strap reaching around him itself to lock it in place. Within the cloak he looked to the others, "I am rready to go. I thought concccealing myssself might be prrudent while I trravel with you."

Keioko smiled softly and gently pet the puppy's head.
"I don't think concealing yourself should be a problem.." Kei said in a gentle voice to Kane, smiling softly at him.
"I'm ready to go when you guys are."

"That's a great idea," Bolt said, "If we meet someone that recognizes us, or that dislikes travellers, there could be problems."
From his bag, Bolt removed a cloak in which he covered his clothing and neck, then he layed his straw hat over the hooded part.
"I don't know this area very well. I know that we have to find our way through the forest and find the nearest town.. then from there find a transport to Isle De Gambino," Bolt said with a professional feel to it. "That's the way the caravan would have gone, and that's the way we need to go. And with Kane at our side, maybe we could make haste through the forest. Do you guys want to travel all night or make camp as soon as possible?"

Kane growled to himself, "I know little of the forressst. Do not assssssume thingsss, sssirr Bolt. I a morre familiarr with dessserrt terrrrain. Only been in the arrea a ssshorrt time, not long enough to know the forressst, else I would sssleep inssside, away frrom the ignorrant who fearr me. I will admit, I am well verrsssed in ssstealth with ssspeed, but only becaussse of my naturre."

"I assumed you were from the forest... my bad." He scratched his head... "Kei, does that ugly-dog know anything about this forest?"
The puppy's ears perked up at the word "ugly". He growled at Bolt and said to Kei, "My master up road before. Know path to small grass patch. Good place... master set thin houses made of cloth."
As the puppy barked at Kei, Bolt said, "So you're from the desert then?" to Kane, as he waited to find out if the puppy knew anything.

Kane chuckled, "You look at me and call the pup ugly? Yesss...I ssspent many yearrsss in the dessserrt and in the mountainsss. I wasss exiled frrom Brrotherrhood landsss, and at the time, they coverred much terrrritorry to call theirr own. I had to walk many milesss beforre I even sssaw the furrthessst Brrotherrhood outpossst, and many milesss more."

With a sigh, Keioko pet the puppy and stuck out her tongue to Bolt in a childish gesture.
"He's not ugly.. and yes, he said that there's some place, I'm guessing a clearing in the forest with houses made of cloth." She looked back at the puppy.
"Can you take us there?"

The puppy whimpered to Kei, "Can find it... not want to."
Bolt nodded to Keioko, saying under his breath, "His feet are gigantic..." and continued his conversation with Kane.
"So that's your mark? I don't want to call you by a demeaning name...Your name must have been something else before Kane. Or was it always Kane and they came to associate it with 'Cain'?"
