It was probably much for the best that before Deacon could say anything else to make poor Junko feel any more awkward. He straightened and gave Calder a strange look as he poked his name tag, as though taking it for some sort of threat before he actually started to pay attention to what was being done. He looked down to the heart sticker, then silently to Junko with a raised brow. "Suppose it's goodbye for now, then." As she walked off to a table, so did Deacon, making note to avoid the ones that seemed a little too damp for his liking. When he found one with a mostly dry tablecloth, he settled down in the seat and purposefully scooted the centerpiece aside. He didn't want something between his partners, distractions from him just simply would not do.
It wasn't long before his first dating partner had arrived, literally flying to his table to meet him. While the feline was mentally a little disappointed that this girl didn't have a nice set of legs to go with her; for what reason he was unaware; at least what she did have of a body wasn't hard on the eyes. He offered her a smile, shaking his head in protest to her apology. "Don't worry about it, Miss Maritess. You're here now. That's all that matters, right?"

Resting his elbows on the table, Deacon laced his fingers together and rested his chin on the bridge between his palms that it created. "What would you like to know? I'm of the Demon class; a Bakeneko. I'm well on my way toward Nekomata, though..." Whether he actually was getting stronger or not, he'd not confirm or deny in front of anyone. His eyes lingered on hers a long moment, having noticed her fangs as she had spoken to him. He guessed that she was a vampire, but knew no specifics past that for sure... Further thrown off by the absence of her lower half.

Maritess gave her current date a relieved smile when he made it obvious he wasn't going to needle her on her tardiness. Nor did he mention anything about her lower half (or lack thereof), which was always a good thing! Maybe she should go on more of these Dash Dates if they were as proper and gentlemanly as he was being. And if they looked half as good as he did, well, all the better!
"You're the first Bakeneko I've ever met," she explained, somewhat shyly, hoping that he wouldn't think her to be some ignorant undead from some backwater town for it. "Is becoming a Nekomata why you enrolled into the academy?" she asked, primly placing her hands on the table as proxy for her non-existent lap while her large, leathery wings continued to silently beat and keep her hovering.

__ Though her cheeks appeared unblushing, Hadiyya's compliment tickled her inside. Colette absolutely loved her swords; someone else who could appear as if she appreciated them too, even a little, pleased her. The reaper found herself less nervous, and she flashed a smile. "Thank you. And it's nice to meet you too."
__ The ghoul hadn't really done much since arriving at the academy. She fixed up a dorm room to call her own and thought about what classes to take, but nothing drastically opinion affecting. Though she did get lost the other day while exploring. "I'm having a good time so far, though I haven't done much really. Still figuring out which classes to take. You're the first student I've met too.." Colette poked her finger around a tear in the tablecloth and glanced at an overly droopy cattail in the table's arrangement, thinking and realizing herself a bit dull. She returned her eyes to the ghoul, "How about you?"

Dark hands folded over the less then pristine table cloth. She was quiet as she listened to Colette speak, smiling benignly in mild interest(Mild only because she never seemed to get too excited about anything.). The occasional nod was offered at key points in the other ghoul's response. She might have been a demon, but she was a very respectful, polite demon. "It's something of an honor to be the first student you've met. I hope I've left a good impression." Dar, glitter painted lips stretched in a quick grin.
"Me? I've attended one class already, a sex-ed course," her voice never changed. She honestly didn't see what all the fuss was about. "I spend most of my time with Braum over there, as well as Miss Belle and Miss Junko, and Mr. Calder." Another joyful little grin claimed her lips as she motioned to each student in turn.

"I'm enjoying my time here, it's proving to be very fun and educational." The tip of her chin gave a little dip of a nod. "So what brings you here tonight? Looking for a little romance, perhaps?"

Kasumi couldn't help but laugh. Belladonna had a penchant for cheering people up (not that the ghost was unhappy, but it certainly brightened her spirits! -- haha, ghost humor!) and she was warmly welcomed to the table. The ghost loved discussing all things romance with Belladonna, especially since the witch seemed so interested in the subject. She was also more experienced than anyone else Kasumi had met at the school. At the mention of a dress, the ghost was overwhelmed with gratitude. "Really? For me? Bella... thank you so much. I simply must repay you... is there something I could do for you to make up for the effort you've put into the dress? I promise I'll take very good care of it!" Now images were dancing in her undead head of herself in front of a mirror, posing in the most gorgeous cream and blue dress to ever see this side of Halloween.
 It was simply amazing!

When Belladonna executed what was only known as the Girly Teen Sigh, Kasumi know it was on. The boy had definitely captured a few hearts, and being a demon, he had the charm for it in spades. Blinking, Kasumi tapped her chin. "He's quite handsome, definitely, and the outfit is to-die-again for." She knew Belladonna was much more suited for grabbing his attention, and since they were such good friends, the ghost couldn't find it in herself to harbor any sort of animosity towards the witch, even if she tried. "I fancy his fanciness, I suppose!" she explained with a good-natured laugh. She really had to learn to just laugh at these things. "Watch, you'll be paired up with him and I better see sparks flying, or else...!"

The ghost made a mock fist and did her best to pretend this was an Unlife or Redeath Struggle between two lovestruck teens. "I might swoop in and snatch him away if you're not careful!" Another giggle secured the deal from Kasumi's end.

Deacon smiled to Tess' statement. "I'm glad to be your first, in that case." Her shyness was amusing, really. He did like her types; shy ones tended not to argue. "Since I've come here, I've seen several different creatures I'd never interacted with before." Some were interesting, while others had him performing a 180 to avoid for various reasons.
"I suppose it's one of the reasons I enrolled, since it means I'd be stronger. Otherwise, I just wanted to further educate myself and see what the school had to offer. I don't know a lot of people yet, but here's hoping that'll change."

He looked up to her curiously, at last noting that most of the conversation was centered at him. Usually he wouldn't mind, but he was supposed to be getting to know her as well, right? "I think it's only fair you tell me a few things about yourself, Miss Tess. Don't you think?"

Calder was walking between tables, his pet Fester, a large leech, plopped on his head. It was all very romantic. The setting he had constructed from used curtains and construction paper. The candlelight setting the mood and everyone paired. It was just so BORING! Why wasn't anyone holding hands, confessing deep feelings, or at least someone grabbing their partner and carrying them bridle-style out of the room?
Instead, it was idle chatter and he chewed on his bottom lip. Maybe this arrangement was a bad batch. He had to try again! There needed to be chemistry!

With a hard blow, Calder whistle sounded. "Okay, that was a nice warm up. Hope you all got some juicy tidbits from your conversations, but now it's on to the next lucky contestant. Time to rotate! Those with hearts, stay in your seat. Everyone else, move down the line."

Hmmm...not a very interesting first round for her. Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be! She was interrupted from her 'woes' by the witch beside her complimenting her kimono, brightening up considerably and returning the compliment. She did love her dress! Though it wasn't exactly something Junko felt she could wear, perhaps she could...use some of the influences of it? No, no. She couldn't possibly pull off something like that. But anyway! Calder had said everyone would be shifting to their right, correct? Junko looked to her left to see who would be her next partner would be, gasping with delight when she spotted it was Kasumi. Yay! Kasumi! Someone she knew and liked and could have a very nice conversation with! When Calder suddenly blew the whistle Junko jumped a little in surprise, happily staying in her seat to wait for Kasumi to come to her instead.
Once the ghoul was seated Junko clapped her hands together underneath her chin, practically glowing with delight. "Hello, Kasumi! It's so nice to see you again!" She chirped, smiling brightly. "I didn't know you would be here too~." That made her feel so much better, the fact that she knew several people here! Braum, Yaya, Chuppi, Kasumi...she'd just met Deacon now as well and she recognized Tahki from a few of her classes! She breathed a sigh of relief.

__ Her red eyes set upon each student as Hadiyya motioned to them. She was impressed, but not surprised, that she knew so many students just in this room. The ghoul was pleasant to be around and not overwhelming or dull from Colette's experience. Her first class certainly was an interesting one too. Colette had wanted to explain her reason for coming and maybe ask about sex-ed, though she didn't know for sure if the ghoul would be okay with talking about such a thing, but the loud whistle stopped her before she could even start.
__ "Oh.. I suppose it's time to move. It was nice meeting you." Already the other students were moving, and she actually felt a tad slow. Pushing her seat in, she gave a farewell smile. "Hopefully I'll see you sometime again." Having to leave so soon was sad, but time flies.

__ Colette headed right, or what she figured was the right way. Her left possibly was the host's right. All she was certain of was that her next acquaintance was quite short, sort of adorable in that way. She sat and a weaved her fingers together in her lap, feeling that damned nervousness creeping up; but the round eyes of who she was now sitting across from actually rubbed it off a tad. "Uhm.. hello. I'm Colette.."

Hu. Well that was short. She hadn't even gotten a conversation going with her partner. Oh well, she supposed it was bound to happen sometimes in these sorts of things...especially when the gender balance was so skewed. Seeing that they were being ushered to move on to their next partners, Coralie stood up from her seat. "Well, nice finally getting your name, Temes. I'll see you around!"
The next table to she came to...well, was far more amusing. It wasn't anything against Temes, it was just that her next partner was someone she had bashed repeatedly with a guitar. Yeah, interesting meeting to say the least. She really had enjoyed Battle of the Bands, despite getting rather bruised up after it all, but she was curious to see, well, how well Deacon remembered her. And if he carried a grudge.

She slid into her seat across from Deacon with a slightly crooked smile. "Hey. Never did get your name, but then...I guess that was the last thing any of us were thinking about hmm?" She propped her chin on her palm. "Nothing personal, you understand. You're head okay? Or whatever part I hit you? I don't actually remember."

Deacon had offered a friendly farewell to Tess as they were told to change partners, his gaze moving about to see who was headed in his direction...
While amusing might have been the word on Coralie's mind, awkward was the word on Deacon's. When the girl sat across from him, his eyes moved from her face, to her name tag and back again.

"I'll be damned, you've still got the advantage over me." He said, pointing toward her breasts badge.

Shockingly, his tone wasn't hateful. He'd tried to break his own guitar over her head too, and may very well have had Morton not stepped in. As much as it sucked to have lost that battle, Deacon had respect for a lady who could hold her own in battle.

He laughed lightly at her question, tunneling his fingers through his hair and over an ear as though checking to make sure. "Yeah, I guess it's fine. Surprising that I didn't get any broken bones... Those drums weighed a ton, let alone the friend of yours that fell with them." If anything, it sounded like he was bitter toward Morton.

Coralie looked down at her chest, as if to remind herself what he was pointing at. She grinned a little. "Huh, right. Well, I figured guessing games were fun if the conversations got dull. I am curious to see what people would think my name was." Names could say a lot about a person, in her opinion. So therefore, what you thought someone's name was said a lot of what you thought about them. Or something like that. Or it was just funny. Both worked pretty well.
"That wasn't terribly coordinated of him," she admitted shamelessly, though it seemed more of an observation than a criticism. She tilted her head a little, watching him and seeming to take better note of his appearance. Huh, she hadn't noticed the ears before. Or she had and she'd never really thought much of it. Interesting. "But it is good it was nothing serious...real injuries kill the mood and I had a lot of fun that day."

It was all well and good when Kasumi joked in a ghostly nature with the girl, but when she threatened to snatch him away Belladonna very well lost her smile. For a quick second she was prepared to jump up and claim his as her own, what with being a rash person and with those pesky witch hormones bouncing around. Never before had the young girl really felt so strongly toward a person, so the only viable option was to fight her very hardest. But the second passed and Belladonna realized Kasumi had merely been jesting. Though her cheeks blushed a bit at that, she managed a quick hug to her ghost friend when the partners were changed.
And as if her sudden rage hadn't been bad enough, the object of such rage seated himself across from her! Her pink cheeks turned a deal redder, as though they were trying to imitate the color of her hair. Managing a bright smile that still looked exceptionally nervous, Belladonna ducked her head at Braum.

"Good evening! I was not entirely sure if you would be here tonight or not, but here you are! Fancy that!" Fancy him~ was more like it, but Belladonna batted those thoughts away and leaned forward across the table a bit. "Don't mind Calder's introduction about being sad and lonely. Surely you are not lonely!"

Well, that was a good enough introduction, right? They had talked before and had a class together and there wasn't any reason for Belladonna to feel this awkward. Good Hecate, why had she come tonight?! Oh... To hopefully see Braum in his lovely suit.Checkmate in that case!

"I thought it might be a good way to meet new people, you know? What better way to meet others than to go to a gathering? And you look radiant tonight as always." The ghost giggled, trying to push the idea that Belladonna was a much better match for her crush than she was. Really, a Reaper was a better catch overall, logically, and Kasumi did her best to put herself at ease. Junko was always a pleasure to talk to and the ghost focused herself on the task at hand. "Are you having fun so far? Meet anyone new?"
Calder said this was the night to meet someone special but... did he know what that really meant? She cast a glance over at Belladonna and wished her the best, she really did. Kasumi couldn't find it in her to be jealous. Only sad and incredibly self-depreciating.

She shook her head in an attempt to hide her turmoil from Junko "I hope, by the end of this, we can garner some nre friends and wardrobe tips. I wish I were as good a seamstress as you are, Miss Junko. Your ensembles are always amazing. Have you considered opening a clothing line or something?" Maybe another club Amityville needed was something having to do with sewing!
