She laughed again as she pulled her ankle away quickly then made to play fully lunge for the smaller mare. This was surprisingly fun! When Lian was just a foal, she hadn't had any friends. All she'd had was her uncle Pachu'a, who didn't much care for the company of others. But this... having a friend... playing around... this was nice.

She ran faster, pulling quick turns around bushes and rocks and trees to try and throw the other mare off her trail so she could close the distance. She knew that the bigger mare could easily outrun her, but what would be the fun of that? And besides, she was enjoying herself far too much. There was a grin stuck on her face that she just couldn't get rid of, not that she wanted to.

Lian wasn't quite as fast as the little mare, nor was she as agile. But she did have the advantage of longer legs. She pivoted and side stepped when she could, flaring her wings as balancing forces as she laughed and tried to evade the feisty little Usida.

Pahana angled to try and run under the mares belly, knowing she wouldn't even have to duck to clear her belly. It felt so good to move around, and Lian appeared to be so good-natured about her running around her, and she played fair. She didn't just go straight into a fast speed and win the game, but kept to a slower pace, making it more fun. And she was most certainly having fun. She caught sight of Lians wings spreading every once in a while, and caught herself dreaming. What would it be like to place this game off the ground? With the clouds as the obstacles to play with and hide behind.
So caught up in her dream again, she failed to correct her course around an eartly obsticle. Her front hooves nicked a stone, and she stumpled, then sat hard on her back feet, applying the breaks as she went skidding into a bush, neighing in surprise as the leaves enclosed around her.

Lian pivoted to change directions and dashed toward the bush. "Are you alright?" she called, hoping it wouldn't be a silly question. She stopped just before running into the push and started nudging at the leaves, not wanting to hurt her new friend by mistake.

Pahana looked up as the leaves were pushed aside, and a large muzzle came into view. "yes, I'm fine. I just wasn't paying attention again." She made her way out of the bush through the hole she created, and started twitching. There was dirt on her feet and belly, while twigs and leaves entalgled in her hair. She felt her cheeks heat with embarassment as she leaned back to start pulling twigs out of her tail. Several of the stratches were deep enough to sting, but they only scratched her skin a bit. She would be fine tomrrow, but embarassed today.
She looked up and gave her friend a tentive grin. "In case you ever wanted to know, bushes aren't very fun to crash into either."

"No, I wouldn't think so," Lian agreed, solemnly, as she carefully pulled a few leaves out of the smaller mare's mane. "Maybe we should wash these cuts out a bit. They could get infected."

Pahana nodded, and looked around, then she giggled as something occured to her. "I guess that goes back to the first question you asked me. Remember about the water? I guess we're going to have to go find that pesky stream I thought I crossed anyway."

Lian laughed a bit. "It must be meant to be," she joked. "I suppose I could go up into the air and see if I can't find the stream."

"It sure must." She thought about what Lian said, and felt that familiar longing again. "It might be faster. I couldn't really tell you how far away it is. I wasn't paying attention really."

"Then I'll do that," Lian nodded slightly, then hesitated. "Will you be alright here for a few minutes? You won't wander off or something?" The small mare had shown a tendency for allowing her imagination distract her. Lian didn't want to go looking for a river only to return to find that Pahana had wandered off.

Pahana smiled, and nodded. "I promise, I won't go anywhere. I'll stay right here and watch you fly around." She was actually starting to feel a little sore from her sudden stop, and felt more like standing still for a while then doing anything else.

"Alright," Lian nodded a bit before backing away from the tiny mare a few steps. "I'll try not to be long." And with that, she launched herself up into the air, striving to reach a height that would allow her to see which direction they needed to go to reach the stream.

Pahana watched her longingly as she took to the sky, and continued to watch her, resting her front foot as it started to throb a bit. It was the foot that she had caught the rock on. Her attention then stayed on the blue and white dot in the sky.

Lian circled a bit until she spotted the thing blue line that was most likely a stream. Making note of the direction, she tilted her wings and glided down into a semi-graceful landing. She was getting better at this! "I think I found it."
