Cricket took the papers as they were finished up, sorting them into two stacks by some unspoken criteria. Either way, she paused after a moment and looked up at her class before waving them off with a hand.

"Go. Speak with one another while I look over these." she instructed casually. For someone who really didn't give a damn, she sure gave a lot of freedom in her classes.

((Feel free to have students talk for a while while I work on some...preparations for stuff. Be warned your interactions will determine certain things to come... ;PPP

Late students can still participate, they just need to get me a worksheet!))

A last glance was afforded her worksheet before their teacher came around to collect it, wondering idly if perhaps she should have put a little more thought into her answers before turning it in. No matter now. Really, she wasn't sure what else she could have added.

Lips pursed, Yaya uncurled her feet from beneath her so she could turn in her desk, leaning across the gap so she could catch a hold of Braum's arm, giving him a gentle tug. Pulling him a little closer so she could rest her cheek against his bicep. "Why so grumpy?" Her tone was perfectly mild, the impish little gleam in her up turned eyes was not. She knew damn well why he was grumpy.

Of course, he wasn't the only one less then pleased to be here. A look around the classroom showed a multiple of different expressions ranging anywhere from mild amusement to straight up horror. So far Hadiyya felt the trip out was well worth her time, she was quite enjoying watching everyone's reactions to the subject matter.

The raum snorted his derision to the mild-mannered marid. He didn't know why, but he'd taken quite a liking to her as of late. Ever since the movie night they kept bumping into one another, and so far, seemed well suited to one anothers temperaments. Not that he wanted to DATE her or anything. Demon or not, she wasn't exactly his type. Far too smart to be fooled by a few petty words. Not worth the time to try and woo. But nonetheless, she shared his penchant for observation, and taunting the masses in any way possible. She also held his fondness for carnage, which was always a plus in a friend, he supposed. That, and she made an obscenely pleasant perching place, letting him ride on her shoulder in his bird form and paw at her various shinies that he silently vowed would one day be his.

"You know quite well, dear. I find no reason to be here. Reproduction is something I am QUITE familiar with, and I don't particularly feel the need to explain it to simpletons who cannot connect the dots for themselves," he groused grumpily, settling down and patting the hand that was curled around his arm. He knew she didn't take his lofty and cross demeanor personally, but it was simply a reassuring action. More for himself than her, really, but then again he'd always been a selfish creature. Braum looked around the room, seeing some familiar faces.

Nodding his head congenially to Miss Belladonna, whom in the few times he'd met her found her obscenely bubbly but all around pleasantly humming with magic. He enjoyed the power and unlocked potential in the girl, and she was one of the few females in school he'd spare a second thought to quite frankly. He let his eyes convey to her that she looked quite lovely today, but stopped himself before the subject matter made him focus on her and some of the other girls he paid mind to in a more.....frisky mood. Didn't want to alienate too many girls this early in the year.

Israfel sighed before his head feel to the desk with a very loud 'thunk'. "Shehk. I blame you. You and Nuk. If you guys didn't go all...'skull facey akshuns' none of this would have happened." The words were hissed towards the girl who he rather respected overall. Israfel twitched though as he felt his pant leg move a bit. Part of him wanted to think it was normal, but another part was guessing it was probably one of Cricket's many pets. Bird like or not, be didn't like the idea of spitting glowpedes on his clothes. Or bug in general. The fact that the health teacher was so fond of them made him nervous.
"Skull face on skull face akshuns...I bet he rigged the votes too." Israfel totally thought Nuk rigged the votes. Because it was Nuk. And it was the man. Israfel didn't like the man.

Almost as much as he didn't like the idea that a glowpede might be crawling on his pant leg. Cue a shiver and a ruffle of feathers.

Oh, Nuh-uh. This was not her fault!! Shehk immediately frowned at the Siren, glancing at the glowing mess that was slithering across his pantleg, eventually pittering off onto the desk and gnaw at anything that was left on it.

Hopefully nothing important.

"Oh shut up. I didn't think he'd take it as far as he did when I made that offer, Jack-dammit." the Pricolici said stiffly, folding her arms and leaning back in her seat, though a creaking of the floor made her pause and lean forward.... Alas, falling through the floor would have been REALLEH BAD.

"Besides, I'm sure I'm not the only one making kissy-faces at people around here." she grumbled, crinkling her nose distastefully. Then again, the sliiight glance towards a certain demon didn't really.. ah... mask the direction of her commentary.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 15, 2010 9:28 pm

Her attention was all for the Raum as she leaned against him, a small hand stroking idly at the soft plumage of his closest wing. They weren't terribly close yet, but Yaya didn't really believe in personal boundaries, and Braum seemed perfectly willing to let her hang all over him. Besides, he was soft. There was also the shared delight in observing those around them. "I do know." She laughed softly, muffling the sound against his sleeve before turning liquid eyes on the students seated behind them. "But how can you not find amusement in their discomfort?"

It wasn't so much that the marid adored discord and sorrow, though those were on her list. She found all emotional reactions amusing, for her own were so very subdued. Anything beyond pleasant was far too taxing to bother with, so the water jinn was damn near always in an agreeable mood. Jack save you if you actually manage to piss her off though. It was rumored a few rogue gnomes had run afoul of the girl's temper and were found pelted black and blue at the bottom of the lake..

A voice caught her attention, or rather two, drawing her gaze from an undead with what appeared to be backward .. everything, to a pricolici and a siren. Dark brows arching in intrigue at the other girl's comment. Now just who was she talking about?

"S-sorry Nurse Cricket!" She apologized, flushing deeply as she handed her sheet over. The witch had fully intended to arrive before class ever started. But then she forgot her hand puppets. But once she had them, she wondered if it would be presumptuous. So she want back and consulted her mom's handbook. Which said nobody likes a know-it-all-show-off. So she left them.

Then she remembered that the last time she had entered this classroom she had done something unforgivable. So she lingered outside the room for a good ten minutes, debating as to whether or not she could handle herself this time. Shehk was in there too. What if she Bad Touched Shehk again?! And there was Shine! Oh god, what if she hurt Shine again?!

Turning back to the class, she wondered if she should just go sit in a corner and stare at wall for the rest of class. For the safety of others.

Her paper taken and safe from Her treacherous and incredibly annoying reach, Junko was able to finally look around at the rest of the class with curiosity. Who else was here? She hadn't been given a chance to see before! Though she didn't see them having much time to socialize, right? There was only one way to make babies! And...so they'd all give the same answers! ...Right? Nevertheless, Junko was elated to see she recognized not just one or two people but several other students, clapping her hands with delight and sitting up straighter. This was fantastic! She didn't have to suffer alone! Even Sin and Chuppi and--oh...oh Jack no...that ghoul was here as well. The strange one with the torn plushies and the mess of a room and...greeeeat. Junko scooted her chair a little in the direction opposite of her, trying not to let the sight of her ruin her day. She was crazy even by Halloween standards! But Junko was pleased to see that she recognized more people than she didn't, even if she didn't know them all that well.

She cast a glance toward the pair...couple...? Pair? Friends? Er...the...two students that seemed to be getting rather snuggly, blinking and watching them quietly. Well that was interesting! Was the class because of them? It had to be, why else would they be all cuddly? They were the only ones like that too! Though...Nuk had won in the student council election, and his whole campaign had been about making out with Shehk..maybe it was for them? But Nuk wasn't here! Most curious. Junko looked away from them, pausing when she spotted Aymet. Ugh..his wiiiings. Junko scooted closer to the undead and pouted, poking very, very gently at one of his wings. "I swear I'll fix them! I promise! Will you let me try again sometime?" She asked with a tiny huff, not at him but at herself.

"Still." Israfel hissed, a his tiny earwings flapping about, "You guys had skullface on skullface akshuns. Don't deny it!" Israfel kept his ears to the wall, (provided it wasn't covered in slime). He thrived on rumors, and the rumor of the head FEARleader and the rough and tumble thug was too juicy to pass up! It was like in those SCEAMTEEN magazines he sometimes got downtown at the Maul. Teen romance was so in the season. Especially that human romance series, Dawn. Something about a human based creature an a lightning elemental was just romantic okay! Even if poorly written.

Looking at the two Shehk seemed to hint at, Israfel balked. "You guys! Stop that! There are pumpkins nearby in this very room!" He sighed. Maybe he was just on edge. The whole baby scare was crazy. He wasn't sure what to think. Dumpsters, pumpkins, graveyards...he had no clue who was right. Much less how to prevent such babies. Looking around a bit more, he failed to notice his pant leg. If he did he might have screamed. Still, judging from how the class shuffled, Israfel could only assume that no body felt comfortable in the classroom, talking about sex. Much less babies.
"I wonder which one of us comes from a race that eats their young..."

Julian glanced up at the school nurse when she took his paper. It got his head up and he took the moment to look around at the other students. There were some faces he recognized, others he didn't know at all. But he took comfort in knowing some of his friends were there. Coralie and Morton were sitting not too far from him and Tahki was in this class, too. He got the feeling she was just as uncomfortable being in this class as he was and he had to wonder why she had decided to come. It didn't look like anyone was pushing her in, not like Sin had.

Speaking of the demoness, Julian glanced over at her and his shoulders slumped. How could she look so cool all the time? It was like nothing really phased her, not that he had noticed, of course. But then, he hadn't known her very long, either, and had in fact spent more time with Tahki and Cora and Morton than with Sin. She had looked at him funny when she thought he was a monster, and he remembered some of the other demon boils that lived near his family would call other demons monsters to pick on them. Was it wrong for him to be friends with Tahki and Morton? Would Sin and his fellow demons look down on him? He frowned in thought over this before deciding that he didn't care. He wasn't one to break rules or try to stand out, but he could still be invisible and had friends from other species. Tahki was too nice and Cora too fun and Morton too... Morton, to not want to be friends with them.

With a nervous smile, he waved at the reaper and gargoyle before turning to Sin.
"I'll be right back, I p-promise I'm not leaving," he said and stood, walking over to Tahki's desk to ask if she wanted to come sit with him and Sin, not knowing if she had any other friends in the class. If she wanted to sit by some other friends, that was fine, too, he wouldn't mind. He just figured that if she didn't, it'd be nice to offer.

Amrita was nibbling on what was left of her lip, looking between the floor, the ghouls and boils, and the walls. She recognized a few of those in here, but as a whole a lot of them were fairly new to her. Which meant...there was no way she was going to willingly go up to them. Nooo way! So for now she was content to just look around the room, making sure to not linger her gaze on anyone in particular for too long.

She sat at her desk for a moment, her feet tucked awkwardly under her bum so she could hug her knees to her chest. Despite popular belief, the only 'backwards' thing about her was her hands and her feet - everything else bent, moved and twisted like it normally should! What to do, what to do! Israfel was busy arguing with the girl she remembered seeing at Rain's booth, and some bird demon was wandering over to Tahki...that meant very little left in the things she was comfortable doing.

"Mmm..." She hummed - though mostly to herself - and started to brush through some of her dark hair with her reversed hands, looking firmly at everyone else's proper, awesome feet. Wait...what was that?! "Um...Israfel...?" She started, trying to be quiet enough to stay under the radar, but loud enough for the Siren to hear her. "There's something on your leg."

Tearing his eyes away from Miss Belladona, Braum's gaze whipped almost predatorily towards the the mumblings and objection to him and Yaya being so close. What, did these idiots think that just TOUCHING someone affectionately could lead to babies? What kind of capitol morons WERE they? But still, he felt some kind of pity for the siren. No avian should be that stupid, or perhaps the right word was naive. Braum had also seen this pretty little bird around here and there, though he hadn't spoken to him much, if at all. He was a siren. A monster. Not something that Braum usually associated with, but he supposed his father might forgive this one indiscretion, since the boy DID have wings. Standing up quietly, sliding Yaya's arm down his so she would either let go, or follow him, he walked calmly over the few steps to Israfel and Shehk. Leaning in probably far more than what was considered appropriate between boys, he grinned wickedly. His usually deep voice became somehow lower as he talked in hushed tones, attempting to be a little more reserved and discreet than the siren had been, and mostly for the siren's benefit. He seemed incredibly uncomfortable talking about children or the opposite gender. Sometimes Braum wasn't always a total b*****d.

"Why don't you fly on home to mommy and daddy, little fledgling? Surely they'll be able to tell you that you have nothing to worry about. Things with wings tend to lay EGGS, you misinformed little hatchling, and for eggs to be made, I'd have to be shagging a girl whom is nothing more than a dear friend on that desk, IN PUBLIC. And that would simply be a little too gauche for my tastes, no matter how much I'm sure you're DYING to watch a few exhibitionists go at it and show you the proper.......technique," he whispered conspiratorially, pulling back with a sarcastic grin. If he'd been related to any cat at all, he'd surely be purring, beside himself with pleasure. Giving a polite nod to Shehk for the sake of her being a......lady, he supposed no matter what her death certificate said, he should employ his gentlemanly manners.

With that, he gave the rest of the people in the room watching him and Yaya a cautioning glare, and sat protectively back by her. He could defend himself, that much was true. But Yaya didn't deserve to have her name dragged through the mud like that. She wasn't THAT KIND of girl. Some species were simply more affectionate than others. Looking down at the marid with mild warmth in his eyes, her curled a wing around to frame her. It was true she looked lovely among all that black, but she STILL wasn't quite his type. He wanted something feistier. Something he could CHASE and be done with at his leisure.

"Forgive my absence, dear one," he apologized softly, so only she could hear. He didn't apologize to many people, if anyone really, so it was a rare event in itself that he'd even thought to do so.

Sammy had spent her time twirling a pen aimlessly between her fingers when she overheard Israfel and Shehk talking. "Wait a minute wait wait wait." She pointed her pen at Shehk, "You kissed NUK? You actually did it? Why didn't you tell me this?" She turned back to Israfel now frowning. "No his vote couldn't have been rigged, Helma would have eaten him alive if he tried that I think... not to mention he kinda did have a really good speech even if it all really was just to try and kiss Shehk."

As soon as Braum stood up though she was distracted, "Oh please, would you shut up you ego inflated hell-spawn? Do all of you demons think your were Jacks Gift to the world? Shut up and go snog your little friend somewhere were I don't have to see it and gag..."

Somewhere between finding out Shehk was snogging Nuk, listening to a Demon be, well, a demon, and this class put Sammy in something of a grumpy mood.

The Siren's requests were met with nothing more then a cool glance and a curious twitch of dark brows. Benign smile fading into something quite a bit more neutral as she regarded his concerns. Frankly she wouldn't have given much thought beyond wondering what it was she was doing that needed stopping(Petting Braum's wing?), but the Raum in question was getting to his feet, and she would either have to let him go or follow him. She let him go, dark finger tips trailing down the length of his sleeve as he moved away from her to talk with the worried siren.

Left to her own thoughts, Yaya turned her attention on the pile of pumpkins in the corner. They were only pumpkins, useful in smashing or harvesting lovely seeds from, but there were no babbies in there. Sniffing, The marid turned back to her fellow demon, watching him speak in hushed tones to Isrfel. Or Rather, watching the other bird's face for his reaction to Braum's words.

She'd been right, this class had been worth attending. So many delicious things happening all at once. The somber jinn was nearly beside herself.

When the raum returned to she afforded the mumbling duo a quick flick of ocean blue eyes before returning her attention to those lovely black feathers. Wing spread protectively around her, she could feel the soft brush of silken plumage from shoulder to shoulder. It sparked a gentle grin that grew brighter at the hushed whisper of apology.

"No need, my dear Nevermore." She'd gotten to watch the play of emotions on the Siren's face, it was worth the brief parting. Laying a hand once more on his arm, she curled fingers loosely around the crook of his elbow, liquid eyes settling on the ill spoken zombie with a rather unfriendly look. "How very rude." Her voice was like the calm before the ocean rose up and sucked you under. She kept further comment to herself, instead turning a meaningful look up to the proud Raum, whispering for his ears alone. "Why does food persist in speaking as if their opinion matters?" Not her food mind, but she knew other's that enjoyed a bit of carrion now and then.

Braum snorted and raised an eyebrow at the zombie in question that his marid had pointed out. Rubbing his thumb against her hand, he shook his head slightly. Ill-mannered food was all the girl was, though he knew it was unsafe to ingest other students in Halloweentown. He'd tried it once when he was small. The outcome had been most unpleasant. The taste had been worth it though.

"Don't you know, little djinn? Food past it's due date is always horribly sour and bitter because no one wants to go anywhere NEAR it," he sneered, jesting with the marid but making it clear he didn't appreciate the comment. Waving her off as if she was literally nothing, he shrugged and raised his voice a little so she could clearly understand this part of the conversation was meant for her and the other two.

"How dull of them to have the need to make up gossip, hm, dearest? Their lives must be truly boring if they need to make up scandal in the lives of others. I have to admit I feel a little sorry for them really. Pity too, that pretty little fledgling piques my interest," he stated loftily, and it was true for the most part. He DID sort of feel bad for a few things.

Mostly dragging Yaya into his bad reputation for chasing women. Partially because they really DIDN'T seem to understand that you could be incredibly close to someone without wanting to shag them. No matter. It was their loss that they had such stiff personal boundaries, not his. He simply cooed softly as the marid strokes his wing feathers and cuddled into their softness. Twitching his wing ever so slightly to remind her not to fall TOO FAR back into them, lest she damage them. Even Yaya would not be forgiven for harming his wings, no matter how fond of her he was. Inspecting his nails, he pointed out Belladonna specifically to Hadiyaya.

"Besides. As fond as I am of you, dear, THAT'S the girl I intend to court." he informed, making sure the gossiping group heard him. If only to clear up that the marid was in no way a sexual object. He didn't want other males getting the wrong idea of her. As he watched Belladonna again, his wings quivered and he almost smiled, though any smile from Braum was always slightly unnerving. "There's something special about her.......untapped potential that I am just DYING to get my hands on."
