I saw an older version a while ago. I got the book for Christmas. I haven't seen the new movie yet but I rented.

I enjoyed the older, animated version more. It was truer to the books. My mom made us have a theological discussion on it at 11pm to compare it to the Gospels. Didn't so much enjoy that part, but the movie was OK.

narnia is a very christian based movie because as most or even all of you know Jesus is the lion of Judea...but my favorite book was the magicin's boy...it tells how narnia was created and my favortie part is when they told how the lamp post came to be there

I saw it and now am in the process of reading the books.
I loved Mr. Tumnus!
I hate the book The Horse and His Boy so far, though. It's as if a comlpetely different author wrote it. It's also quite a bit duller than The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

Spastic waffles I saw it and now am in the process of reading the books.

It's also quite a bit duller than The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. ya, The Horse and His Boy is probably one of the most boring ones, and they're never really mentioned again. However, I loved the movie, and was very glad they didn't ruin it. They followed the book almost word for word!

I loved all of them~The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is my favorite. Second is the Last Battle
But I heard that they (not CS Lewis) were going to write more more books while taking out the Christian theme. Which, in my opinion, is nearly impossible without screwing up the entire tone of the story. sad

Neko-Nyu The movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." was awesome. But did you know that the author of the books, C.S. Lewis was a Christian. You can see how some things are similar to The Bible, as in Aslan sacrifices himself like Jesus on he cross, and he comes back to life like in the resurection. And Lucy and Susan are there when Aslan comes back like Mary and Martha when they see Jesus come out of the tomb. That's what I like so much about it... it's an excellent evangelical tool, all the similiarities in it. To just start a conversation and bring up the similarities... I've read all the books several times, I must say it is an all-time favorite of mine. Another interesting fact (sorry if somebody's already mentioned it) "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" was not the first book in the series... it is in fact "The Magician's Nephew" Most people don't know that... "The Magigian's Nephew" really just sets the story line, and explains how it all started... "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is the first of the story line of the Pevensies...

I heart ed the books and the movie! Did anyone else get shivers about how exact of a replica it was to the Bible? With the whole "it is finished" and all...

I think the movie was great. I have not read the books, but maybe I will at sometime. The film was more violent than I thought it was going to be. I think the watr scences were done well. I think I like the ending the most. It makes you really rethink the events of the story.

Any part with Mr. Tumnus is awesome! They got the best guy to play Alsan's voice. He sounds firm and gentile at the same time smile

Oh my GOODNESS, C.S. Lewis is practically my idol. He's so brilliant, especially with his heavy theological analysis like The Weight of Glory and Mere Christianity. Narnia is absolutely gorgeous as well, mostly because of the Christianity. biggrin
I feel like I can relate to C.S. Lewis so well, because he was an atheist before he converted, just as I was, and a determined one at that. He's known as one of the most unwilling and yet most influential converts in the Christian faith, and I think he's absolutely wonderful. *nods vigorously*
