Milnth audibly growled at the fact a Benden dragon had taken a swipe at another, here in Malvren, the last thing Benden needed right now was another dragon hurt but his attention was again drawn to the Gold who narrowly escaped his claws yet again. He dodged and veered, avoiding the other males, striving to get closer to the queen before any other caught her

Despite his continued efforts, he was hard pressed to catch up with the group currently surrounding the queen. He had perhaps gotten took late of a start to have even bothered attempting to join in, but still he flew onward. If he could not catch her himself, he would at least see the rest of this flight out.

(( My apologies for the late reply, it's been a bit of a day. @_@ ))
Another swipe? Oh this bronze was either incredibly daring or incredibly needy, Ianath wasn't sure which pleased her more. It was becoming more and more pleasing as well to have others sidle up in to get brushes and snatches of her great golden beauty. So many were close, but none could catch her yet!
Ianath screamed her challenge to the group weaving around her in an intricate dance, daring all of them and one of them all at once to earn her submission. The days of sleeping had paid off and the queen was starting to slide away from the group again.
But not for long!

No! No, he needed to keep his lead, not lose it! And yet that was exactly what was happening; a couple others were gaining, and the larger bronze was now even with him...and swiped at him? Unacceptable! Pipith came back with a rumble and a swipe of his own, and fueled by frustration and anger, redoubled his efforts to catch the maiden Queen.
She was going to be his!

My, what a fine queen she truly was. Tereth rumbled his approval of the gold's challenge, despite how far back from the group he currently was. If he ever tried to enter a gold's flight again in the future, he would need to take off right away rather waiting to consult with His on the matter. For now this was still an interesting experience nonetheless.

Oh, was she? Galvanth thought not! She, in fact, was going to be another Bronze's entirely... if the larger, bulkier Bronze had anything to say about it. He was a fairly young beast, strong and confident, and proud. Angry, yes, because the Browns dared to join in the Flight, and think that they would make fools of him! But the goal was not the Browns, nor this rival Bronze. The goal was that glowing, golden beauty, and he had not forgotten it for a moment.
Yes, he was desperate, but were they not all? He conveyed this to the Queen with a bugle, for how could a Bronze not be desperate in the face of such splendor? But his focus did not lose that fervid edge. Taking a return swipe, he used those large, powerful wings to gain what ground he could, determined, it seemed, almost to the point of near obsession.
What chance he had, he would take, no holds barred. S'raid, noticing the Brownrider watching him, quirked an eyebrow at the man. What exactly was he... conveying with that expression? Bizarre. No mind. His thoughts were with Galvanth, supporting the Bronze in his bid for the Queen's favor. If they could do this, and prove that Benden deserved its good name... well. Well then.

As the queen screamed, Brumath raised his voice in reply. One voice among so many. One pair of wings among so many. One racing heart. One desire... Two ahead swiping at one another. Two of the closest. If they were to injure one another, even to just hinder one another...
With a tiny spark of hope, the brown found new strength in his wings and managed to pull just a little closer to the leading males. There was time. The day was not over, the queen was not caught.

Milnth snarled, the Bronze was getting closer, so very nearly catching the gold but she'd wheeled away at the very last moment, he roared at the challenging dragons, she was HIS! he would catch her!

Gimaeth shuddered at the queens challenging scream, daring and tantalizing her pursuers. It was impossible not to imagine the taste and feel of victory, to hope for it even as they chased with all their power. He ignored Milnth's roar, though the other brown had come frighteningly close more times than he had. He still had to try, he could not give up!

Milnth was doing his rider proud in keeping up with a young gold. Perhaps unsurprisingly, aggressive Galvanth had edged in closer so that he might catch her as well. It wasn't yet a loss for anyone else, but they were the two in prime position to have the queen.
Ianath's stamina was waning, and it would be soon.
Inaari hoped it was soon.

It would be over soon one way or the other... but Galvanth had not remotely thrown in the towel, as it were. He was still going strong, anger keeping that fire burning. Lust had overcome nearly all of his other senses, but his rider kept him focused. Focus on the Gold, on the Gold! He could not resist a fierce bellow of challenge, and an additional swipe at his rival, but that did not stop him from pursuing Ianath with relentless sweeps of his great wings.
She was beautiful, and though she was not of Benden, she was a Gold. ... Presumably, in fact, a fertile Gold, who was capable of... well, that was not important, except that it was attractive. He was so focused, so determined. He would not give up now! Fiercely, he chased her, hunting her down as her energy flagged. Mine, said those claws, those wings, those powerful muscles.
Anyone who got between Galvanth and the object of his desire would regret it. For Benden. For S'raid. For Galvanth. ... For pony. ... Where had that thought come from? No! For Benden! He would do this for himself, and for the poor, tiring Queen... if he could manage it. He could almost taste victory, but he had not discounted his rivals just yet. They were so close to the finish now.

His wings burned, but he flew on. The others were so close, but he was not going to stop just because it looked like he couldn't win. This was a queen, a lovely young queen, and every instinct drove him to greater effort. He would strive. He would show them all what Benden was made of, what Brumath was made of. Determination to the end.
On the ground, F'tiz grinned just a little. Yes. There was life in them yet. They were not too old to succeed.

Milnth rumbled as he came so close to the gold, he could hear her breathing getting harsh, she was tiring, he would catch her, soon, he was determined, he was forced to veer off as the Bronze swiped at him, he hissed and bared his teeth at the other male, eyes whirling red in anger, then the gold swept past his vision again and SHE was all he could think about.

The little bronze shouldn't have allowed himself to be distracted by the larger one; he could feel as much from Set'al, whose emotions were tied inextricably with his in this. Stop. He shouldn't be fighting, he should be chasing, and the lapse in judgement had cost him. But this couldn't be the end of it. He'd sooner be knocked out of the sky than give up!
...which was becoming a distinct possiblity, as his rival took another swipe. He refused to swerve away and lose the ground it would cost him, choosing instead to risk taking the hit. It scored his side, illiciting a feral scream, which his rider echoed with an angry cry even as Pipith flew on.
