Mary advanced on Lian as she suffered. "You do not deserve the opportunity I had in store of that child of mine whom you scared away. She needs the chance to become stronger. You... you just need to disappear. Really, I'm doing you a service, having those hideous feathers removed, it is more then you deserve," she said coldly to the rolling Angeni. "Perhaps when my follower is done with you, I shall toss you bound hoof to hoof in a river. Or perhaps without your ugly feathers, we shall see if you can still fly. Of course, if you survive whatever hardship I put you through, I am doing you a favor, and we mustn't have that, must we?"

Lian thrashed one more time, trying to puck the raccoon off, blood streaking her sides and tears staining her cheeks. She didn't hear Mary's words. Her only concern was to get the familiar off of her back, and hope that she could save her wings.

The small raccoon when tumbling away and down the slope. Mary was forced to choose. Vengeance... or helping her follower. She was a Goddess, there was no choice, when it was all tallied. "This is not over!" she snarled at Lian before turning in a hoof and rushing after the familiar. What was a Goddess if she did not care for those who worshiped her? But she would not forget the feather brain.... and he would have her revenge some day.

Panting, Lian scrambled to her feet and took off in the opposite direction. The soquili she had been trying to help was gone, and she had no intention of waiting to see what the vicious mare had in store for her. If she thought she could trust her wings, she would have taken flight, but...
She cringed at the thought of the damage her wings had taken and prayed that she wouldn't be crippled. First, she had to escape. Then came finding some way to care for her injuries.
