The thin paper paddle was spun lightly, idly through white fingers as Audrey considered carefully her positioning. It was generally obvious that the fish weren't really going to congregate near where everyone was clumsily trying to scoop them over by the attendant. Or at least, a smart fish wouldn't. Her head tilted slightly, wondering at what a goldfish's brain pan might look like, before shaking her head.

No, Audrey was pretty sure they were dumb as potatoes. Swimming potatoes.

Striding up to the pool and confidently bending over it, she scooped.

...

.......

Something bit the paddle?! Alright, now things were rather approaching the nature of finding out what sort of goldfish ate an expanse of paper and plastic. Everything Doc Wes had ever taught had stressed that these things were bad for aquatic life!

Eyes didn't even leave the pool as she reached down for her second of three paddles, and tried again.

Audrey Collins was a crazy lady. Or so anyone might think, seeing the young woman kneeling over the tank and lightly waving her fingers like they'd been burnt very recently, or something had nipped at them.

Something had done the latter for sure, and now she was swearing under her breath, threatening what was no longer a fish dumb as potatoes. There was no way a biting goldfish that could lightly graze her fingers was potato-dumb.

She really wanted one.

One paddle left, Audrey stared at it hard. "Victory."

Staring at the three-eyed, glowing fish with the massive teeth, Audrey was not at all sure she wanted a goldfish any longer. This certainly was no normal goldfish, and might very well kill her in her sleep.

Maybe she could give it to Fitzpatrick....hm.

Turning to the attendant, her grin was rather wide. "May I have a Bat Tank please?"

Lily thus far was having a lovely carnival experience and had enjoyed a week without parents breathing down her neck. It just wasn't something she was use to and she hadn't originally believed being a senshi could mess up her life like it had.

She looked over to her sister who had decided to accompany her today, being back from her first real acting experience in a movie. She was dressed as a bumblebee, but Lily though the costume could use a bit more fabric. Her sister stopped looking at a neat looking booth then looked at her. "Lils, have you tried that one," she asks, too which Lily shakes her head.

She found herself being dragged to the booth. "Come on the Lils, you love animals. Look it says goldfish and they even have nice little tanks."

Lily grinned nodding to the Rose and went over to booth manager. "I would like to try please," she said with a smile. After she had her scoops she went to look in the tank and see what she could catch. However, the sight of the tank she went wide eyed and nearly her dropped her scoops.

"Rose, that looks highly unsanitary. I really don't think we need a goldfish that bad."

Rose rolled her eyes and gave her sister a stern look, "stop being a baby, you only have to stick the paddle in."

Lily frowned knowing her sister was right, she really need not touch the water or the fish, so she moved closer pointedly ignoring her sister. She was not a baby!

Lily dipped the scoop into the water moving it around rather delicately and recieving disbelieving looks from her sister.

Lily pulled her scoop out to reveal ... nothing and she frowned having braved the disgusting water for nothing. She could hear Rose laughing beside her. The sound irked her so.

Rose wiped the tear from her and went fpr one of the scoops. "Oh for the love of ...," she said her laughter finally subsiding, "you have to put the scoop down further."

Rose, of course demonstated her hand to close to the water for Lily liking. Lily frowned watching her sister swing the scoop around, causing pretty ripple in the not so pretty water.

Rose pulled her scoop up and Lily frowned slightly seeing her sister had indeed caught a pretty, bot odd rainbow colored fish. She wondered for a moment if something was wrong with it.

"The pumpkin tank, please," said Rose picking the tack Lily would like. She really did not think her sister would scoop a fish out.

She looked to her sister and motioned for her to get on with it.

Lily sighed and dipped her scoop in once more as far down as she dared, her hand still an inch above the water. She moved her scoop around still delicately but covering more area and really hoping to catch a nice fish.

Lily grinned pulling her scoop up and feeling the weight on it. However her jaw dropped open when she laid eyes upon the ugly, three eyed, glowing, green monstrocity. "Eeeewww," she said extremely displeased with her undesireable catch.

She looked to Rose, "Never though I would pull out a nightlight," she laughed allowing her frown to fall away. She could hear Rose laughing beside her. It wasn't the fishes fault it was so ugly.

"The bat tank please," Lily said knowing the tank to be best befitting of the fish.

Rose smiled when her sister was handed the tank. "So what shall we name them," she said softly looking to her own fishing knowing it would likely end up Lily's by the week's end.

Adira had been wandering around the fair for a while now, looking at all the different booths and wares being sold and won, when she happened upon the peculiar looking fish stand.

"Exotic goldfish?" To try was free, and there seemed to be a fair number winning, so Adira figured she'd give it a try. Holding the spare nets gingerly in her hands, she gripped one tightly and scooped down into the murky waters with it.

To her pleasant surprise, the net felt much heavier on the way up than it did going down. Lifting it to the top of the water, she saw a pleasantly colored rainbow goldfish caught inside. It seemed to be sleeping? How odd! At first, Adira thought maybe it was dead, but it was definitely breathing in water... Anyways, she smiled up at the attendant. "Could I get a bat tank for this one please?"

Gripping her second net, she made another try for an exotic goldfish down in the murky waters.

To her surprise, Adira's net was once again full, this time with a sullen looking green goldfish. A green goldfish? She knew the sign had said exotic, but green usually meant a fish had fin rot or mold. Maybe it was because they kept their tank so murky? Ah well, either way, she'd try and medicate the fish when she got home.

"Um, maybe the pumpkin tank for this green one?" Maybe some bright and cheery colors would cheer up its complexion, after all. Scooping down with her final net, she made her last attempt.

Adira was shocked at the goldfish that came up in her net on her third try. Was it wearing a wetsuit? Why would a goldfish need a wet suit.... and it had the most peculiar thing over its eye, like the goggles people used to see lasers better. While staring at its eye, the goldfish looked up and her blood ran a bit cold. Maybe it was best not to look at this one.

"The bat tank for this one...please." She seemed happy to hand over the net to the amused looking attendant. Adira had been lucky, and clutching the 3 tanks she smiled and left.

((OCC: So its the Bat tank for the high security and the rainbow, and the pumpkin tank for the green one <3 ))

Istas walked towards the booth, attracted to it like a moth to flame. Her mother was with her this evening, she'd managed to get a few hours off from the duck pluck. Istas was looking at the sign and reading the rules before looking at her mother who smiled.

"I think I want to try" She said with a nod. She hadn't won anything yet. Maybe she'd be good at fish catching, she waited her turn to retrieve the paper fishing nets. Chi was standing back watching her.

When it was Istas' turn she took the little paper net and placed it in the water attempting to scoop up her first fish. Oh she hoped she caught something, even though she had two more tries after this, it'd be awesome if she managed to catch something on the first try!

Billy had been wondering the carnival, all together unimpressed. But, he had spent the money to come here, might as well do something, right? And a fish wasn't a very needy pet. Sigh. Why not?

"I shall this," Billy eyed the murky water, "Three tries."
