3rd April
Daniel hummed quietly to himself as he sat on the sofa, hand scribbling away on the notepad on his lap. Beside him, Bennu snuggled into the side of his leg, ghostly head leaning on Daniel, body stretched as much as a baby could on the soft surface. The shrunken wand was clasped in one snoozing wrist, and trailing smokelike wings and tail glowed a warm orange against the material of the sofa.

Daniel placed his left hand absently on the baby ghost's head for a moment before using it to push his glasses back up his nose. It certainly was quieer here for getting his thoughts all in order.

Malen walked into the lobby fromthe hallway, spying Daniel he smiled. The man had a baby ghost that was terrified of Kishi which meant if they stayed a while she could finnally socialise. It was hard from where he stood to tell exactly what the other man was writing so he cleanred his throat to announce his presence.

Having sensed another ghosts presence kishi had no issues about venturing forward unannounced. However upon sighting the resting ghost she huffed and settled to the floor to wait for her father.

Daniel looked up suddenly, hair falling across his face until he brushed it away hastily and smiled.
"Hey there," and he resisted adding a name to the end of the greeting because he was not entirely sure that he remembered it correctly.

Meanwhile on his lap Bennu's head suddenly rose, peering about curiously as he sensed the presence of another. Floating slowly upright the baby ghost peered over the back of the sofa, concetration fixed curiously on the purple-tinged babu ghost on the floor.

Malen smiled "I hope we're not interuppting you, I was just bored and with Ianna out I get lonely since I haven't got clue what Kishi is babbling to me in my head half the time." Malen figured the man probaly dealt with the same problems and knew the frustration it could cuase when tryignti decipher if they wanted food, cuddling, you to go away. " I'm Malen incase you've forgotten the one who doesn't bite unless you're an attractive girl"

Kishi waved the hand with her small winged wand and then floated upwards.

Bennu squeaked in alarm and then curiousity in Daniel's mind, before gurgling slightly and floating above the sofa to perch precariously on the sofa back, wand flailing slightly and echoing Kishi's movements. The firey smoke of his wings flared for a moment, before settling quietly.

"No, you're not interrupting," Daniel's voice held a note of cheerfulness as he yawned and stretched his arms above his head, careful not to dislodge the baby ghost. "And I remember now, Malen.. from the library? I'm Daniel," and he smiled, revealing slightly pointed canines for a moment.

Kishi waved both arms this time and flexed her own wispy wings in pleasure.

Malen smiled and extended a hand " I remeber you." Considering that there was giant variety ofof species on gaia he was none too surprised to see canine features on the other man. While he himself was perfectly normal he feline contacts which seemed to sooth the people he met becuase they mistook him for yet another oddity on gaia not a rare normal human with no extrordinary powers.

Putting his notebook to the side, Daniel hurriedly got up to shake the man's hand. He hesitated only an instant; all vaguely feline-featured people did not have to be felus. He was safe for now, surely. At least in this part of Gaia. It had been.. months now since the last assassin came.
He smiled brightly and shook the man's hand before sitting back down, peering at the young baby ghost that Bennu's happy gurgles were aimed at, though it was his head they echoed in.
"What a pretty colour," he said warmly. "This one's yours, isn't it? I don't think I ever caught his, or her, name?"

Bennu clapped silent wispy hands and floated gently down off the sofa back, wand held carefully. He didn't meet many others that had been trapped like him..

Malen smiled "Her name is Kishi and she's a Succubus. Who is your little one? Based on his coloring and the flameyness I'm guessing he's some variation on a the pheonix?" For a moment Malen had sensed tension from the other man but it had quickly passed so he made no mention of it.

Still curious Kishi extended the bat winged tip of her wand intending the pokethe other solid being.

"A little girl huh?" He couldn't remember what a succubus was for a moment, and then blinked. "Ah.. uh.. isn't that a little dangerous?" He peered over at the little ones, and the wand poking that was going on.
"And yes, that's my little Bennu... a phoenix." He laughed. "Easy enough to guess, huh?"

The flamefeathered wand tip quickly came out to parry the other, but the baby ghost that was Bennu jumped slightly as they came into contact and withdrew it suddenly. He didn't like the slightly sticky feeling, something static.. he hugged the wand tightly to himself, and burbled quietly.

Malen nodded " Yes well so is that butterfly woman's Drow considering the spider on top of it's wand so don't feel bad.technically by looks most peopel would probably assumed Kishi's wand ment vampire."

Kishi shivered and pulled her wand back to her, the sensation had been weird and not exactly pleasent.

"Yes, but succubus are well.. only dangerous to guys, right? Will you be safe - uh." He laughed suddenly, embarassed. He scratched the back of his neck and continued. "I guess. you'll have thought about that kind of thing. Like.. I hope Ben won't be burning me, though I'm sure he won't..."

The latter, if his ghostly features could be made out, smiled cautiously. Still hugging the wand tightly to himself, he floated up a bit, and extended one vaporous arm towards where the two men were talking. The gesture was unmistaklebly (to Kishi) 'that one yours?'

Dear diary: So once again my life is turned upside down by my youngest daughter.Kishi has grown, she has become a normal baby well as normal as Succubus baby can get and she's just ..too innocent for words. Innocent and clingy again to me and Del and her blanket. I know I had a security blanket as a child myself so it brings me fond memories. To be honest I'm still in shock and not sure but to write I just know I have to make note of this momentous occasion. If I do not write for a long time it is becuase I'm too busy scurrying about changing diapers and trying to get the bottle at just the right temperature.

(rp in progress)
Nai got up from the fountain and stretched, then tried to think of something to do. Something popped into his mind. Investigate that video game system. So he left the garden-park and went inside the building proper, then made his way towards the fun room of the place, with the TV and all. He checked to make sure nobody was in there, then crouched before one of the systems and started fiddling with it.

" You are a picky picky eater miss can't find a formula she likes." Malen grumbled walking through the portal" bags in each hand and Kishi seated in harness on his chest. Spotting the stanger playing with what he considered his video game system he narrowed his eyes. " You erase my Doom 3 game and I will be very unhappy with you." he growled, though his tone held no true malace. it was usually a good sign when there were new peopel in the headquarters, it meant Kishi had a friend to terrorise with her innocence.

Malen probably has nothing on Nai with innocence. He immediately drops the controler he was holding and looks around wildly, "This thing creates doom? Crap! I hope I didn't touch anything..." He tentetively pokes it for a moment before jumping away, in case it might explode. And him without his sword. He'd be hacking it away in no time.

Nephrenia walked in through the portal, the burnt wand still glowing at her side, she hadn't let go of it since the moment she had obtained it from the shop and now she was returning, prehaps to meet someone who had some experience with the wands, or simply to socialize with someone who she didn't know through her fiancee or her other children. Either way she was looking forward to whatever was comming with this new child and the oppertunities it would bring.

Ianna came out of the bedroom, looking slightly frazzled and in nothing but her bathrobe. Coailiann was toddling behind her, trying to catch the tie of the robe that was flowing behind her. It'd been nothing but jobs jobs jobs lately and Ianna had been looking forward to a night alone with Malen and the children, "MALEN! Are you home yet? Did you bring the fo--" she was cut off when she saw people milling about.

Unfortunately, it seemed the headquarters had other plans.

Color touched her cheeks and she blushed, "Uhm, Hi guys, I guess...I...Think maybe I should get changed..."

Coailiann toddled right past her and clung to Malen's leg, "DADDY!" she giggled, nuzzling at him. She totally ignored the fact that Kishi was there.

She still wasn't happy that she had to share attention anymore. And now that she was walking? Nobody was safe.

Nai had ended up on the couch, staying away from the doom machine. So he didn't see the horror that was Ianna in a bathrobe. Nor, thankfully, would probably get hit for seeing her like that, or even attacked by Coailiann. Nope, he could just rest there on the cough for the first time in a few weeks.

Malen looked down and coailiann and smiled the smile that was just for her " Hey there super kay wanna be a big help and takene of theses bags and put it in Kishi's room." Malen figured the chances of his little girl doing that were nil simply becase he'd gone and mentioned his other daughter's name but then again he'd called Coaliann super Kay and that usually made her happy as did giving her her special smile.

Malen briefly eyed the stanger who apparently wasn't familiar with video games or the Doom games, he would have commnted but thought it best to leave the man in the dark for the moment. Ianna apperance but another smile that was only for one person to his face " Yes I brought the food but it appears we have a guest, err guests."he corrected atthe appearance of his friend Nephrenia.

Nephrenia glanced up at the enrance of Ianna and then saw.... "Malen?" It had been positvley forever since she had seen the man. "It's been so long!" And then she ran at him smothering him in a hug careful of his daughter strapped to him. "So you've been busy I see?"

Ianna blushed again, "Uhm, I'm going to go get some clothes on..." she coughed and made her way back into the bedroom, closing the door. She had never been so mortified in her entire life!

She was a modest woman. She didn't like people seeing her business!

Coailiann made a face at her father-figure and shook her head, clinging to his leg tighter. She didn't want to go anywhere and she liked hugging him. Therefore, someone else could do what he asked of her.

Besides, why should she do something for that little succubrat?

"No." she said softly before she hugged at his leg again, sliding down so she was sitting on his foot.

Nai leaves the room, uncomfortable being near the doom machine, and closes in on the little knot of a group near the entrance. He looks down at Ianna's child, recognizing her from the first day he had been here. Then he looks up at Malen and jerks a thumb in the direction of the playroom, "Why do you have an apocolypse machine in here? Those things are dangerous!"

Malen grinned" Here I am covered in beautifull women and yet sadly I do not feel complete" He rolled his eyes at Nephy "I share no genes with Kishi thank you and before you even ask about Ianna the awenser is no." Shaking his head at the oddness of the yet unamed strnager he gave a soft smile " Doom three is a game , it's not dangerous unless you get addicted to it." Malen knew the dangers of addiction, like how he burnt himself cookign when hs ming was preocupied by the thought of Ianna showering all alone.

Looking down at Coailiann he gave a soft sigh " Kay I need to be able to walk and I can't do that with you there, why don't you let me put Kishi down for a nap and then I'll piggyback you." Sometimes malen found bribing the small girl worked and sometimes it didn't but it was always worth a shot, besides she was his daughter too and he hated to see her put out. Half asleep on her father's chest Kishi drowilsy wriggled her fingers at her sister.

Nephy grinned "oh so you aren't seeing Ianna? Cause I thought the looks you were giving her were pretty much screaming that you wanna do her." Neph looked over at the other man in the room "Apocolypse machine? Well maybe if you give it to the wrong person, I know a few people that could blow up some s**t if they loose bad enough at a game."

Coailiann reluctantly let Malen go and toddled over to Nai, pulling on his tail to get his attention, "Up??" she asked cutely, batting her green eyes. If she wasn't going to get attention from her daddy, she'd get it from the fuzziest thing in the room.

Which happened to be Nai.

Ianna slipped out, dressed in a pair of white sweats and an oversized grey tee-shirt, silver hair falling over her face.

"I'm hungry, so if I don't join in on anything, It's because I'm stuffing my face..." she made a beeline for Malen and tilted her head slightly, "FOOD."

My, she was demanding.

Nai looks down at the baby tugging on his tail. My, that was a bit odd. No one's done that in a while. And then her asking for 'up'. No one's done that in a long while either. My, that brings back memories... He crouches down, then looks over at Malen. Hmm. He seems busy, as does Ianna. So he reaches down and picks up the girl, a bit akward about what position to hold her in. Eventually he settles for her at his hip with both arms clasped around her.

After that, he looks at the others, "If it's not an apocolypse machine, then why does it make three dooms?"

Malen raised the bag in his left hand " Yes food, food for two as per your request all nice and warm still since I picked it up last."He pulled his arm back ." But since our dinner plans have been hijacked I demand atleast a kiss for the effort." At this point Malen was uninterested in the man with obviously no knowledge of this world and he knew Nephy wasn't expecting an awnser. Coaliann was happy Kishi was nearly asleep and he wondered for justa moment if he could simply wander off with Ianna and hope no one would feel offended.

Nephrenia smiled up at Malen, "Honey if you wanna go with her that badly just go, I mean she obviously means something to you. You and I both damn well know that if it were Umbra I'd be out of here in a heartbeat." She could see the love in ehr friend's eyes and knew it was killing him to be away from the woman for even a few more moments.

" I'm going shopping I'll be back in a few hours" Malen called out before heading towards the portal. In his peripheral vision he caught sight of something black and purple sliding across the floor. He turned and spotted Kishi's wand , confused he looked over to where Kishi sat. Only a few minutes before the succubus child had been happily racing toy cars on the floor with Del, now her gray eyes locked on his and her expression seemed almost determined . Raising her arms she gave a whine, a plea for his attention.

Although Malen had been partially looking forward to a few child free hours the look in Kishi's eyes said she was threatening to burst into hysterics if she was left behind. "Ok ok you can come along ,but there will be no ogling shoes or teddy bears do you hear me?" he teased her before walking over and scooping Kishi up into hi arms. Blowing her black bangs from her face he grinned as she smiled and wiggled her fingers at him in a way he interpreted as thank you.

An hour later found Malen sitting on a bench in the mall watching Kishi watch other people. It was entertaining for him to see her reaction hundreds of species that walked Gaia. He noted her distinct affinity for things that were winged and an apparent dislike for anyone who wore heavy perfumes or colognes. As helooked down at his ever watchful baby Malen smiled " Well since the essentially shopping is done and nothing we have can go bad where shall we go next?" he inquired. Kishi looked around than pointed her wand at a piercing parlor.

"Umm a think you're a bit young for that sweetly besides there's too high a risk of infection for someone your age." Although he said this Malen could look at Kishi and imagine her with tiny star studs or perhaps simple obsidian hoops. Kishi giggled and pointed to one of his on ears from which an ankh shaped earring hung. Suddenly; Malen understood and nodded " Ok then I guess I could use a new earring or two". Placing his bags on one arm Malen scooped Kishi up into the other and walked towards Pauline's piercing parlor.

Dear journal:

I've been branded by my own daughter I find it amusing and worrisome at the same time .Whenever Kishi wants my attention she says "eam" which I'm translating as dream. I suppose I've not been neglecting her per say but not giving her equal time compared to her sisters lately and I'm guessing this was her way of making her frustrations with that known. Now instead of my typical earrings I wear my ankh and an obsidian dream catcher earring that she picked out. A physical marker or ownership and verbal trigger have now been implanted in me by a child who can barely talk and yet I'm not all that unhappy. In a way that is uniquely Kishi my daughter marked me as hers and in other ways I'm sure the rest of my family will do the same.

Malen.

( not sure if this was exactly what you were looking for but it was all I could think of)

lithle
It was raining. It hadn't been raining earlier, when Lithle went out. It had actually seemed like a beautiful day. It wasn't until she was a more than significant distance away from home that the sky had opened up, spilling the icy waters of karma down on her.

She hated her life.

Luckily, so to speak, she hadn't been far from the headquarters when it started, so she'd decided to take herself inside. She was at least mildly worried that a sudden puff of wind might kill the smoke thing that had attached itself to her wand. And she didn't want to murder it.

She just wished it had picked someone else.

Anyone else.

Walking into the main lobby, her steps deliberate, but her shoulders slumped, she immediately eyed the bar. A drink? Maybe. Mostly she just wanted a beer.

And an umbrella.

ladyumbra
"Hello there oh fellow servent of the wand children " Malen said at the sound of someone entering the hea quaters. Engrossed in Doom 3 once again he didn't bother to look up right away . Having had a particuarly trying weekend so far Malen was in need of a little time to simpel relax and shoot things without feeling bad. Plus about half of the guardians who entered the headqauters appeared to be anti social so a breif verble salutation would probably suffice.

Kishi who lay in a playpen only a few feet from the couch took far more interest in the newcomers. "Eeeeeeah" the succubus baby yelled trying to get the wisps attention. As always she was pleased to see another of her kind and she wanted to be near them.

lithle
Lithle ignored them both, walking to the bar with the shiny golden stick in hand. Beer, beer, beer, she knew the chick had said something about fridges with refreshments when she'd gotten her little tour. But where? Oh, well, there you go. Opening it, she stuck her head in, and found a can of the brand she liked.

Much better.

Now, had someone been talking to her? Turning, she saw the man on the couch, and the infant in the playpen? A wand child? Maybe. How was she supposed to tell. At least the video game looked interesting.

If not curious, then at least willing to obtain a bit more information she closed the gap between herself and the TV, watching the fairly mindless violence for a moment. She'd never really gotten into video games. That was more Kyle's thing. Waste of time if you asked her.

"She a stick kid?" She asked, voice somewhat rough and very bland. There wasn't much emotion to her, not beyond anger anyway.

ladyumbra
" Wand and yes she's a Succubus and one of the few wands that has made it" Malen stated letting only a bit of pride slip into his voice. His eyes still watched the screen. Doom 3 was sophisticated it was nearly completely dark and you had the master the art of panning the room and switching between your flashlight and various weapons, but always having the flashlight handy. He'd learned too many times that you could check a corner twice and try to go around it only to find a monster just not coming around it. " Wand wisp or baby ghost?" he inquired unable to see exactly which of three this person had.

Annoyed at being ignored Kishi reached under her pillow for her wand , waving the rattle sized object about hit it off a small plastic toy in the pen making a loud clacking sound.

( I feel like a videogame pimp)

lithle
As Lithle had no clue what a succubus was she simply shrugged and nodded. Creatures and beings had never been her thing, and she'd avoided those sorts of diversity classes in highschool. She knew what a gryphon was well enough, as she'd read up on the damn things, but chances were, she wouldn't recognize the other stick creatures. Unless it was something obvious like a dragon.

"Wisp." She replied, turning to gaze at the delicate trail of grayish smoke, like the exhalation from a cigarette, and shook her head. So it really would be another brat one day. Great. Just ******** great.

The wisp showed some slight interest in the banging, seeming to turn toward the noise, but it stuck very close to the wand, winding around it, as if it dared not leave it's treasure behind, not even slightly.

ladyumbra
""Mm what species and gender?" he inquired while nibbling on his lower lip in anticipation. He'd not made it to this level yet and exploring new levels always made him happy. Any chance to test his skills in any way made him happy truth be told. It was also nice to be in the company of another guardian without being expected to be the driving force of a conversation or the only one interested in actually interacting, for once it was nice to simply share a mutal feeling of anti socialism with someone.

Kishi whimpered and waved at the wisp, frustrated thet her possible new friend wouldn't venture closer.

lithle
"Gryphon, and the chick said it was a guy, so I guess it probably will be when it comes back." A slight shrug, and Lithle took a slow drink from the can of beer, enjoying the soothing familiarity of the taste. She wanted to be home, to grab some lunch and get some work done. There was a new dog she liked for breeding, but she needed to contact the sellers to see if she couldn't meet it first. Dogs for the pack needed a certain sort of attitude.

Intelligence, obedience. Bravery. Same thing all of Tred needed, really.

The wisp, seemingly curious if not overly friendly, made its twining way down to the bottom of the wand, closer to the noise and the girl. Lithle, however, ignored the child. She didn't like brats.

ladyumbra
" If Ianna said your ghost was male then it will remain male." Malen's voice now had the slightest edge to it. While he personally didn't care what people thought of him , how people treated and reffered to Ianna was important.

Giving a small giggle of pleasure Kishi smiled at the wisp, she had sucessfully coerced another wisp into responding to her.

lithle
"Figured as much." Lithle wasn't unaware of the change in tone. She was aware of most things, thanks to rather extreme paranoia on her part. She simply didn't care. Her own voice kept its negative neutrality, a sort of disinterested discontent that bled into the words and made them fall flat. "How many stick brats are there?"

The wisp remained at the base of the wand, curling in lazy circles. It made no move to travel further, but didn't seem interested in going back up either.

ladyumbra
"Hmm I'm not sure exactly since more wands are discoverd all the time but I do know there's Kishi, Coailiann, Bennu, a male Drow a Pegasus a green something a red something a Gypsy and a Naga " Malen rattled off all the names and species he could remember he knew there were atleast a half dozen more but he wasn't sure what they were. "Oh and you can probably count on him having wings." Malen knew that Gryphons had them and that is was a pretty good possibility that the child would as well.

lithle
"Great. As if one bird wasn't enough." Lithle gave the bit of wisp of an accusing look, though the glare didn't seem to have the desired result. Instead, the wisp made its way back up the wand, curling about her fingers where she gripped the shiny thing. Perfect. It was being affectionate.

Well, Savius couldn't fly, so hopefully this one wouldn't be able to either. And maybe they could preen each other. Jer'ain said that taking care of Savius's wings was a real pain. Not that she'd know. Grooming children really wasn't her style. She cut their hair and that was about the extent of it.

"So they're not all creatures. I mean, a gypsy." A shrug to pair with the words, expressing little.

ladyumbra
"Yeah the gypsy belongs to be friend , it's a right weird wand too, it has magical fire at it's top, I wonder if the fire is related to her magic or how she died. " Malen doubted he'd ever have the awnser but it didn't bother him too much. Thinking about the horror any one of the wand children had gone through in their deaths disturbed him.

Kishi annoyed at having lost the wisp's attention gave an unintelligable burble in hopes of returning it's focus to her.

lithle
"The sticks have a meaning, then?" Lithle asked, turning her attention to the shiny one in her hand. If the sticks were supposed to indicate something about the kids, then hers was going to be pretty ******** shiny. Maybe she could sell the childs feather's or something. Not that she needed money. Just seemed stupid to carry around something made of gold and not get anything but a bit of smoke out of the deal.

Her gaze returned to the door she'd came in, and her shifting stance said clearly that she was impatient to be going. She hadn't wanted to be here. The moment she had the chance, she'd be gone again. At least she was getting something out of it. Information, anyway.

The wisp seemed unaware of the noises now, more concerned with weaving its way around Lithle's hand.

ladyumbra
Finishing a level and saving Malen stood and turned to face Lithle for the first time. " Yes the wands have meaning and they will be important to the children as they grow, for now they are important just to keep the wisp alive." Glancing at the clock Malen swore, he'd wasted more time than he thought ." If you'll excuse me I need to go pick my other daughter up from swimming lessons before she runs off and starts exploding legos again. Perhaps we can continue this coversation another time." Malen prayed that Del didn't run into the suger glider child while she was at the labs. not that he had anything against the girl havign never met her but still Del was far to easily influenced.

lithle
"Yeah, maybe." Lithle responded mildly, taking another drink of her beer. She couldn't help but be glad he was leaving, not because she had something against him personally, but because she'd simply rather be alone. And hopefully no one else would arrive before the rain ended. Without bothering to say goodbye, she turned, walking back toward the fridge. The can was empty.

The wisp, pulled away from the girl that it had been somewhat interested, seemed to waver in the air before spiraling back up to the top of the wand. Sure, the girl was interesting. But it was staying as close ot home as possible.

Spiders and succubi

Lately, Neveah had been putting the baby ghost through endurance training so she wouldn't have to live her life in complete darkness once the Drow materialized. It was tiring on her, but it was most taxing on the little ghost. Zah constantly sent a strain of discomfort to his guardian, although lately his mental strains hadn't been so strong...which was a good thing, in her books! Whether the ghost was enduring the sunlight (though he usually floated in the shadow of the trees), or whether he was captivated by his butterfly guardian's dance was hard to say.

Naturally, if one wanted to find the unusual pair, the Gardens would be the place. As always, Neveah was standing in the sun and dancing, the rays reflecting and dancing across her black and blue wings...and as always, the purple baby ghost floated in the shadow, unmoving but apparently staring at his guardian.

With a mental note to hunt down the child responsible for putting Del on a Mario kick Malen walked into the gardens. Once outside the sound of mushrooms, coins and fireballs faded from his ears and he smiled ." Your sister is highly impressionable" Malen murmed looking down at Kishi who was strapped to his chest. The young succubi baby gave no response and then suddenly as the rounded corner let loose a loud squeal. Waving her wand wildly Kishi pointed in the general direction of the babyghost, ignoring his guardian all togeather.

On the other hand Malen's attention was drawn to gracefully figure "Hello there Neveah good to see you back" he called out.

Neveah heard a pang of recognition come from her ghostly charge, but for the moment, she ignored it. Usually that meant another wand-carrier made its way into the area...but considering the owners she's met as of late, it would be rare for someone to take the initiative to greet them. A few moments of dancing was abruptly shattered by a loud squeal...which naturally threw the butterfly so far off that she stumbled and nearly fell into the grass.

"Holy~" She started, then cut herself off with a strained sigh, her hand pressing to her chest as if to stifle her startled heart. She regonized the voice then though, even before she looked up at the sound of her own name. "Oh...Malen! Hello...!" She waved.

The Drow on the other hand, made a pleased, though thoroughly amused keen in his guardian's head, both at finding someone he recognized and at the fact she nearly fell. He still recognized Kishi as a femalething, but after a moment's hesitation he waved his own wand back, deciding she couldn't be so bad since she hadn't hurt him.

Kishi squealed again though softer this time. She was pleased that at this meeting her friend had greeted her with a form of enthusiasm as opposed to hiding like he normally did. She smiled at him in friendly manner and wriggled her fingers at him.

Malen shook his head " I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you are you ok?." Malen hadn't intended for his greeting to cuase the butterfly woman any pain.

If he had any fingers, he'd wave them back. Instead he waved his wand again, sending a weak keen of greeting to her mentally. He wasn't used to sending to others, but since he couldn't keen outloud, he at least had to try. Perhaps this femalething was a nice femalething! Either that or very tolerant. This bright world confused him!

"Oh, its alright! No harm done. I only tripped, thats all." Neveah laughed in a carefree manner, shrugging her shoulders and brushing herself off, even though she hadn't fallen. "Oh, Kishi materialized! Congrats!"

Kishi wriggled about in her harness in response. Although she was solid now she wasn't really capable of being idependently mobile.

Malen grinned " Thanks she's certainly more of a handfull now but also so much more fun. Of course there's still lots of things she can't do yet but I figure I should enjoy her childhood before she blossoms into a teenager and I'm the most hated person in her life." Malen had no doubt that no matter how he raised Kishi the typical teenage rebellion bug would one day bite her.

After a minute or two, Zasalamel floated out of the shadows (thoroughly complaining about the light in a distressed sending) and hovered over his guardian's shoulder, 'staring' at Kishi in her strange restraints, cooing in confusion.

"Ah, I read about that...I'm not looking forward to the teenage stage..." Neveah grinned in discomfort, glancing at the purple ghost who freely wandered into the sun, only to send confusion. "Oh, you'll be getting one of those too, Spiderling..." She giggled to him, patting the ghost as best as she could. "So...how've you been, Malen?"

" Busy very busy, between attending to Ianna , Kay ,Kishi and Del I have little time add on the odd work assingment and things get tricky. I'm still healthy" he flashed a smile " but exhuasted a lot". Getting frustrated with Kishi's constant motion he unhooked her and plached her gently at the base of the tree " there ya go you're fre are you happy now."

Kishi Giggled in response and waved again to Zah. Like her friend Kishi preferred darkness to light though she didn't quite know why.

"Attending to Ianna? Is she alright...?" Though the butterfly didn't know the silver-haired woman very well, she felt she was somewhat obligated to worry about her. After all, she was taking care of something Ianna literally risked her life to acquire. "But...wow...Makes me glad I only have my spiderling..." Looking as though she were mentally sweatdropping, Neveah moved her gaze to the little succubi child as she was put into the shadows. "Oh, that reminds me...Spiderling has a name now! I introduce you to Zasalamel Surugata! Zah for short, naturally." She was grinning, thoroughly proud of the fact she'd gotten the little one a name of his own.

When Kishi was put down, Zah sent a churr of curiousity and permission to Neveah. When he received a small nod, he took it as permission to be around this other girl that he knew, and floated back down into the shadows after the tolerant femalething. Waving his wand to her, he setted on the grass to Kishi's right, just being brave enough to sit with her now.

"Ianna is fine but soemtimes she needs patching up and she's accident prone and well I just feel resposnible for trying to keep her togeather. Normally the biggest issue is keeping the kids from fighting." Eyeing Zah Malen grinned " That's one heck of a mouthful you saddled the kid with and I pity when they try to make him spell his name in school." Although Malen figured that chances were Zah would probably adapt to his his long name pretty quickly though he was likely in for a life of people miss pronouncing it.

Kishi waved back and giggled, she was winning she was making her friend not be afriad. Listening to the adults she grinned. She could make the noise the winged woman had " Zah"

"Ah, well...that does make sense. I can imagine how easy it would be to get hurt, what with her wand-findings and all..." Neveah pondered outloud, a soft hum to her voice. At the mention of the name, she laughed lightly. "You know, Surugata is my last name...and he and Yashima chose 'Zasalamel' from a list of Drow-like names I found so...if anything, He has no one to blame but himself." She cast a teasing glance to her little Drow, who seemed to stare at her curiously in return. Spelling? What's that?

Oh well, even with this strange talk of names, Zah had other things to deal with. Like that female-thing but not female-thing sitting beside him. She seemed nice, and tolerant, and approachable...but she was well...a she. Agh, confusing! Oh well, he'd figure it out in time. The baby ghost seemed to stare at Kishi when she said his nickname...and for whatever reason, he shuffled closer to her, but very slightly.

Wings and things, Kishi, Malum and levis

Quote:
Malum loved this game. Women, seduced by his angelic looks, bent over him, cooing, and holding out fingers for him to grab, while neglecting his darker looking sister... But did he grab them? Of course not! He BIT them. You'd think they'd learn, but he'd done it twenty-seven times since they'd gotten to the mall. Indu knew. She was counting. The scowling redhead once more had the children strapped to herself. Or, Malum anyways. Levis wasn't the one who wriggled and tried to get Indu to drop her.

Levis, was actually enjoying being out of the house, even if she was slightly lonely and overlooked. The only people who really paid her any attention were the creepy wannabe punk-goth kids, who scared her. At least Indu stroked her hair occasionally, and Mal frequently sent her his wickedly adorable grin.

Right now, the three Reevers were waiting in line at a piercing booth in the center of the walkway. Was Indu getting pierced? Nope. Guess again. The twins were.

"Zah ?" Kishi asked

Malen just shook his head and laughed while continuing topush the stroller ." No sweety no Zah at the mall at least I think not. " Ever since their last encounter with Neveah and her baby ghost Kishi had been repeating her favorite word, technically it was her only word and not a true word but with Zasalamels nickname being Zah the succubus child had quickly taken advantage of being able to pronounce a form of her friends name.

As they continued their trek through the mall Malen's train of thought was broken as Kishi let out a squeal and pointed her wand at a woman and a cute pair of babies. " Ings , ings" Kishi yelled pointing her wand at them.

" yes kishi they have wings just like you " Malen murmured amused thinking nothing of it but purposefully heading in that direction anyways knowing full well Kishi would raise hell with her yelling if she didn't get to investiage even a bit more.

Malum's green eyes narrowed at the sound, and quickly located it. A little girl? Once more, he ws the picture of innocence, and he grinned charmingly. He liked girls. Or, all the ones he'd met anyway, so it was a general assumption.

Indu glanced over, and quirked a brow at the sight of the pair. A kid with a wand? AND wings? Was it another one of those things...? What were they called, again? Ah, Ghosts of the Past? Shifting the quiet Levis in her arms, she turned to face them, smiling slightly.

"So you've got one too, 'ave ya?"

Levis' eyes widened, and she turned a pinkish color at the sight of Kishi, rather timid and shy around strangers. Even young strangers.

Malum, on the other hand, sneered and peered at them from his spot on his mother's back.

"Ey, preddee url!"

Hey, pretty girl. What a smooth talker he was. Not.

Kishi grinned the winged boy talked to her, oh how she enjoyed when the winged ones talked to her. Suddenly struck by a thought of an image the those she had seen on t.v Kishi slowly blew a kiss at the boy and grinned before waving at the pretty winged female. Though she had no clue what his reaction would be the amused sound she got from her father was worth it.

Malen snorted "Oh joy and the succubus flirts already just what I need." With a mock sighed he looked at the caretaker of these children. Ahh she must be the one ianna had spoken of with the twins. She certianly wasn't a d-corp guardian since the children resembled no animals he knew of. " yes I have a ghost of the past as well this is Kishi my daughter"

"Mmmn."

Indu's eyes caught Kishi's movement, yet she didn't seem to mind and gave a sort of half-smile to Malen.

"I'm Indu, and this is Levis and Malum. Lee and Mal respectively."

Malum simply continued on with his grin, and... Was that a wink?! What a horrible little boy he was! He LIKED this girl. Pretty, winged, and with kisses!

Levis, on the other hand, was very confused, and hid her face against Indu's shirt, whimpering. Indu muttered something to the babe, and Lee peeked out at Kishi, slowly wiggling her fingers back in response.

"Say, once I get these tykes pierced, why don't we let them get to know each other, eh?"

Kishi eyed Lee and have a soft smile, she had dealth with shy ones before and she kenw it was best not to push them. To Malum she sent a pleased coo. It was nice to meet one so friendly, the shiny boy and the fiery one were friendly too but they were not there and he was so she would take advanatge of this chance to play with him. Kishi breifly wonderfd if he would fight with her like Zah.

"I'm Malen and you've got cute kids, and sure once you're done here they can play and we can talk." Malen was always interested in meeting new guardians and seeing how kishi reacted to their charges.

Well, it didn't work out entirely as planned. Levis was not fond of pain, and was far too scared to get her ears pierced, while Malum seemed just fine with it. In fact, he got BOTH ears pierced. Twice in his left lobe, and once in the ear's cartiledge, and twice in his right ears catiledge.

Moments later, Indu set both twins in the mall's child play area, and collapsed onto a bench, glancing up at Malen with a weary smile.

"They're one twin set of three in my house. All below the age of six."

Malum immediantly patted his sister on the cheek, to reassure her that he was fine, then turned his attention to the more interesting Kishi. The angelic looking boy was actually the meaner twin, and her raised his brows at her appraisingly.

"'Ullo..."

Having placed Kishi down with the twins Malen joined indu on the bench . he just shook his head in shock " Well damn that's a lot of kids I've only got Kishi and Del and Coailiann by proxy of being with Ianna i'm not sure i couldn handal more even if i wanted them.

Kishi stared at malums earrings for a moment, she shivered at the tought of placing thigns in her ears. it was ok to make her daddy do so but not for her no she likes her body as it was. "Ullo" she copied she boy and streched out her wings. lifitng her wand she jabbed it gently in his direction, perhaps the boy would play.

"Oh, those aren't all the kids in my house. Those are the twin sets."

She laughed dryly, and raised a brow as she registered his second comment.

"You're seeing Ianna...? Hrm... The twins know Coailiann..."

Malum curled a lip in distaste of his space being entered without permission, and swatted her wand away from him with a hand. He was quite sweet to his "favorites" by he was a little a*****e to most everyone.

Levis lightly pushed her brother's shoulder as if to tell him to be nice, and shot Kishi a real smile, crawling a bit closer, and sort of putting herself between the other two children.

Malen nodded " Yes she's the love of my life followed by all my children in a nonsexual way , Kay knows just about all the kids which I'm starting to think may be a bad thing, we may need to lock up all the men. How many children do you have?" he inquired.

Pleased at having won over the shy girl atleast temporarily Kishi smiled back. She shot Malum a look that clearly stated she was annoyed with him but that she would continue to tolerate him if he behaved. looking at Lee's wings she cooed they were similar to hers and that amused her since so far none of the other winged ones had wings like hers.

"Upwards of thirty, although they're not all mine. More like... A giant foster home."

Indu shrugged, and laughed at his comment about Coailiann.

"She tried to kill Malum, actually, but then they decided they liked each other. What about Kishi, though? She's a... You a said a succubus? Mal... Looks like an angel, but he's an evil little b*****d. Not that I don't still love him. Levis... Her looks are also deceptive. I've never met a gentler baby."

Malum's eye narrowing toward Kishi seemed to say the same thing her's had said to him, and he pushed his twin sister out of the way, so he could move closer to Kishi, in case he needed to hit her.

Levis had fluttered her wings for Kishi's enjoyment before being knocked onto her back. "Oomfing" and sitting back up, she made no move to retaliate, and instead, looked at Mal with wounded eyes, before reaching out with gentle fingers and feeling Kishi's wings. They felt... Strange. Like hers, but not. Definately not like Malum's.

"thirty " I'd go crazy, you must never have any time alone." Malen shook his head it was a nice thing this Indu woman did and he doubted that compassionate and child loving as he was that he could possibly handel that many kids. " Yeah Kishi's a succubus but I don't think her powers have emerged yet since she isn't sexually mature. She's also not really agressive or dangerous infact most peopel find her cute more than anythign and she seems to love the attention. perhaps becuase she's only half succubus.

"ahhie?'" kishi squeaked at the touch, no one but her family had touched her wings before well except Zah but that had been with his wand. The warm flesh on the cool membranze was an intresting feeling and she wriggled with glee ignoring the malum for the time being, if he got agressive she'd thwack him one good but if he was nice again she'd forgive him.

Levis' wings were definately bigger than Kishi's, but being unsure, she stretched them out to their full span experimentally, and trailed her fingers along Kishi's wing softly before pulling away. Pretty Kishi.

Not to be outdone, Malum extended his feathered ones, flapping them once or twice and rolling his little shoulders to stretch them. He'd never seen hair as dark as the girl's in front of him, and reached out to tug on it. Not painfully hard, but not as gentle as one of Levis' touches either.

"Naww, I say 'upwards' because some I don't really count as kids. The older teens help take care of them, and my two sisters also live with me, so... It's... Intense, but fun, at home."

Kishi eyed both impressive wingspans thier wings were certianly big and beautifull. She grinned at lee and her wings "pree"

Malums wings were even more so and while she she longed to reack out for them she had a feeling it was bad idea. hissing softly but keeping her smile kishi accepted the hair pulling as fair trade for upsetting the boy earlier. she pointed to his wings and gave him a pleading look "pease ings" she wanted so much to touch them to see if they were as soft as they look.

" Ahh well that's better then. still how do you avoid playign favourite and succeed in being fair about everything with so many people in one house?"

Malum looked thoughtful for a long moment, but seemed to think it'd be alright, since he'd gotten to tug her hair. The boy moved a bit closer, and practically enclosed her in his light colored wings, signifying his approval with her. They actually WERE really soft. Sometimes, Levis slept on them, which didn't hurt, and made her happy, so, why not?

"'Kay. G'head."

Levis looked startled, and pleased that the two were actually sort-of getting along, and smiled, letting the interaction continue without her interruption.

"Well, since they've got so many siblings, none are spoiled, so, the older ones understand that most of our attention goes to those under 13. But honestly? Not everythings fair, because LIFE isn't fair. They know that too. Still, th' kids don't ask for anything that's not that important, so when they do ask for something, they usually get it. That and we eat in the big dining hall all together around three times a week, where it's sort of like a meeting, and we bring up issues and stuff."

Kishi smiled and rather than attempts to grasp the enourmous wings she let her fingers slide across the feathers. They felt so silky as soft as if they were barely there. her grey eyes reflected her pleasure at the touch and she tucked her own wings agsint her body , they didn't compare to such pretty soft things.

Malen nodded " sounds like an ideal family, fun love and attention for all. Mmm makes me miss gowing up , i loved beignwith my family, except our family meeting which were just sort of strange becuase we never really knew what my sister maria was going to say. she bottled up the strangest feelings or thoughts and relased them only then. so i'd leave the table thinking. so she's been ignoring me for a week becuase i accidently ran over her commanda with my bike and then i speant my allowance on candy instead of buying her a new toy. "

Ooooh, good touch. Malum almost purred in delight, and actually smiled at her, letting her continue to pet them. Levis actually noticed Kishi's movements, and remembered her own displeasure in the comparison of her wings to Mal's. Perhaps Kishi felt her wings were inferior? Lee reached out to pet the folded wings gently, as if trying to reassure the other baby.

"I tried to make my new family completely different from the one I grew up in."

And that's all she was saying about THAT abusive situation. Shooting Malen a forced smile she got to her feet, and cleared her throat.

"It was really nice meeting you, but I think we should get going..."

A glance toward the children and she dropped to a crouch beside them, smiling.

"Time to say g'bye, kiddos."

Malen gave a soft sigh, things had been going so well to, ah well he couldn't wn them all . " It was a pleasure to meet you and i look foreward to seeing you around."

Kishi cooed at lee feeling slightly better than looked up at Indu and huffed gently, they were going to go now and they'd barely even met. "Biee" she murmured

Indu reached for Malum, and the boy promptly bit down on her hand, causing her to curse and put him into her baby carrier. The boy's grin was pure wickedness as he blew a kiss to Kishi.

"G'bye, Kish!"

Levis went a lot quieter after one last pet to Kishi, and was cradled in her mother's arms. The redhead, glanced over at Malen again.

"We should meet up again, soon, alright?"

Without telling him how they'd meet up, the woman waved again and turned to leave the mall.

Malen just smiled at the sight of the retreating figure and picked up Kishi and placed her in the stroller. Kishi was simply far to stunned to respond in any way other than to wave at her departing friends.

Malen watched nervously as the blue furred pink leaved kitten thing sniffed Kishi. It had approcated her warily as she clapped her hands and made grabby hands for it. Now was crucial moment Malen knew, if either balked the friendship would be ruined before it started and Malen would have an unwanted pet on his hands. Suddenly a starting as a small rumble a purr escaped from the kittens mouth and it leaped forward and and into the Kishi's lap.

Kishi gave a startled squeak then began gently petting it's fur much like she had the angel boy's wings. Her grey eyes were filled with happiness and she was completely oblivious to anything else. Likewise the kitten had eyes ownly for her and the two were soon lost in petting purring and licking, fortunatly with the licking being on the kittens part. Satisfied that he'd made a good choice Malen simply leaned in the doorway watching, though he had no doubts that Coailiann would object and that the kitten would likely cuase hell as it grew he knew that it would be worth it from the way his daughter smiled.

Dear Journal

I am a genius, it's only been a few days since the flower kitten thing was given to Kishi and it's made life so much easier and pleasent. The poor thing is still nameless as far as we can tell, Kishi just calls for it's attention with a series of squeals. I call it Kit just so I dont feel like I'm talking to nothing. Having kit around has calmed Kishi and loosened her hold on me so I can spend more time with Ianna.

I have more to write but it shall have to wait for another day since sleep is calling me.

A breif sisterly moment.

"Number one, number one;Now my song has just begun:
Wi' a rum-tum-tad-dle-um, Ould John Braddlum,Hey, what country folk we be. "

Malen tried not to wince as he walked passed Kishi's room carrying some garbage. Del had been singing the same song over and over again for an hour occasionally taking a ten or twenty minute break. Kishi was apparently facsinated by her sisters ability to sing and had requested encore after encore. He had to admit that anything was better than the song that never ends or something from one of the anime's both girls still watched. Listening closely he could hear the contended purring of Kit who was probably being spoilt by both girls. Shaking his head he continued on and made a note to grab his headphones out of the car while he was outside.
