Akela gave Rox a puzzled look. What was he freaking out about? She wasn't sure. She sat down and looked around not seeing anything. "Rox?"she asked in an uncertain voice. Was he loosing his mind or was this some ploy to get her to leave because she was annoying. She studied again this time looking where he was looking...and she saw it. "Rox back away slowly..."she said as she started to back up. It was a panther and a big one to boot.

Rox' nodded hesitantly in a silent reply, doing the same as Akela and backing away from the large feline. "Psst, Akela." He concentrated on the panther, refusing to let his eyes stray. What to do, what to do, what to do.. Trying to come up with some sort of plan, the male slowly inched his way towards his.. friend. Could he really call Akela a friend just yet? And if she wasn't his friend then what was she?.. Oh, that wasn't the damn point. He gave a soft snort through his nose, thoughts now extremely scrambled.
Bah, forget it! All of that was too much to think about, what with this hell of a mess they were in. She was a friend now.
"Akela. Hey." Rox' let his eyes linger on the panther before they flickered to look over at Akela. "Normally you're not supposed to run from a predator, but.. in this case.. maybe...?" He left the proposal up in the air, leaving her to decide whether or not they should flee from the panther.

Akela's mind was scrambling. She didn't know what to do. Normally the forest predictors didn't come near the foxes but than again most stayed close to home-tree. Oh why did she wander so far out. Akela backed up so that she was next to Rox and whispered in his ear "Turn slowly and than run as fast as you can. Ok? Ready? Go!" she told him while moving to the side. She was going to attack the panther when it attempted to go after Rox.

"Alright." Without much more of an answer, he did as she said, slowly turning himself before taking off in a sprint. Rox' continued to follow through with their little plan, pushing himself to run away from the scene. Quickly, he turned his head to look back at her.. only open his mouth in disbelief. What kind of plan was this?! She was not going to attack that thing. No, she was not. No. Oh, damn it all! "Are you crazy?! You can't take on a bloody panther, Akela!"
Back-tracking to the feline and the vixen, he leapt and snapped at Akela's tail, giving a sharp yank to pull her away from the predator. He didn't give a damn if he bit in too much, bruises and bite marks were far better than being torn to bits. Roxanne had to catch himself to keep from stumbling as he landed. "Let's go!" He nudged her roughly, refusing to take no for an answer. "New plan, let's both run!"

Akela was about to luge at the feline when suddenly she was pulled back by her tail. She turned back to find Rox's teeth sunk into her tail. She wanted to smack him cause it really hurt. "What was that for?!?! Dont you know that hurts?"She asked in a slight yell because it did hurt.
Getting pushed by him and not being able to turn around and do what she had planned she and no other choice but to do what he wanted. As a male he was stronger and that frustrated her.

Roxanne had to resist the urge - the strong urge - to roll his eyes at Akela's words. It wasn't like he really wanted to hurt her. Instead of rolling his eyes, like he usually did, the fox flashed her a quick, wobbly smile. A small one, but still, it was an apology... Sort of. "Look, sorry! I didn't mean to or anythi-.." He gave a quick glance back at the panther as they made their getaway, only for his eyes to widen slightly in surprise.
Crap, that stupid feline wasn't about to let the two of them go. "Keep running."
Suddenly, Rox' had an idea.
Pulling his eyes away from the panther and turning to look around them, he tacked on more to his sentence. "But look out for somewhere small enough for the two of us to slip in, where that damn cat won't be able to reach us. A nook or a cranny or.. or something!"

Akela didn't feel like that was a very good apology but it would have to do since they were in a tight situation at the moment that required them to work together. "Fine," was all she said to the matter.
She glanced back to and noticed the panther was gaining ground on them. "Crap stupid feline go away." She told it as they continued to run. What in the world had they gotten into. Than it hit her. "We must have been to close to its babies and so it wants to eat us." She told Rox
As they ran she looked from place to place untill she found a tree with several thick roots. "Quick that way."She said and pushed him to his left so that he could see they could take cover in the roots of a very large tree.

He snorted at what Akela had told him. Babies? This stupid thing wanted to maul them to bits because they had managed to go near it's cubs?
Roxanne could honestly care less about why the panther wanted to eat them. "The damn cat wants to eat us because we managed to get near it's stupid little brats? Ugh." With a dissatisfied scrunch of his nose, Rox' gave one last glance back at the panther. "Piss off already! Go claw at a tree or eat some fish, you stupid bi- Oof!"
Before he could continue on with his planned string of obscenities, Rox' was pushed by Akela. Giving an annoyed grunt, the fox resisted the urge to redirect his cursing at her, turning his attention towards the exposed roots of the tree. "Right." Lunging at the first opening between the roots he could spot, Roxanne quickly squirmed and clawed his way in, working frantically to get as far away from the entrance as possible once inside. With a less than graceful tumble, he was in. Safe, finally!
"Akela?"

Akela was surprised that Rox found it stupid that the cat wanted to protect its cubs from them. She knew if she had had any kits and something that could possible hurt them came near she would want to tear into them to. It must be a mother thing she mused.
As Rox climbed into the roots Akela ran past leading the panther away. She was hoping she could lose it or had enough time for when she attempted to double back she could make it.
Once she seen Rox go under the ground she quickly dashed left and bolted back. She hoped with her sudden movement that the cat would go on past. She lunged for the opening and scrambled to get in. With a final push of her hind legs she tumbled into the hole with Rox.

Anxiously, Roxanne waited for Akela to follow him into the hole. And waited... And waited.
Where was she?! Growing impatient by the minute, the male was just about to sit up to take a peek out of the hole's entrance when - with a messy tumble - Akela finally entered the hiding place. "Finally!" Rox' snapped out, nose scrunched in slight dissatisfaction as he moved forward to nudge her with his muzzle.
"What the hell were you doing?" He asked with a scowl. "Where were you? What if that stupid cat had managed to get you? It could have killed y-.." Rox' paused, quiet for a short moment before he flicked his ears back and scowled more. "Nevermind." With a huff, he turned his attention to the entrance of the tangle of roots, only to see that it had slowly started to rain. "Well. We're.. stuck here." That said, he slowly exhaled through his nose, stressed out beyond belief and tired. "Wonderful."

Akela shivered as she had just missed a claw. The cat finally left them alone. "I couldnt make it. I used to much time shoving you toward the tree. I had to run more and than double back and jump down here.... I'm sorry," she laid down as the rain began to come down harder. "Is it such a bad thing that we are stuck here? We wont get wet and the cat cant get us. Is it because your stuck with me?" It would really hurt her if he said yes. She knew she could be annoying but she was honestly trying not to be.

"Mm." Rox' lessened the intensity of his scowl, turning it into just a small frown now, as he listened to Akela explain herself. "..That's alright." He added, casting his eyes away from her before trying to find something else - anything, really - to look at. Oh look, his paws. How interesting they were. Quickly, he turned his attention to.. uh, them. He gave a wiggle of his front toes, ears twitching at the small cracks and pops that came from them.
He was not comfortable with others. Not ever. Not ever, no, not with how others teased him about his feminine looks and very female name. He was not comfortable at all. Especially now, with this girl who, apparently, liked him.
"I.. guess it's not, uh, so bad." Avoiding eye contact, he spoke, "R-rather... boring, though. And no." Rox' slowly shook his head. "No, I.. No. It's not because of.. uh, you."

Akela watched him as his attention fluttered around the room. She couldnt figure out why. Did she smell bad? She took a quick wiff and no that wasn't it. He said that it wasn't her so she could only wonder. "It could be boring but we can always find something so it wont be,"she paused "What is it if its not me?"

When she questioned him, Rox' pinned his ears back - pinned them, right against his head - and gave a soft snort. Did he really want to tell this girl about all of the teasing, the mocking, the many, many, many insults he had received because of his name and coloring? "..No. It's not you." He didn't look up at first, concentrating hard on his digits as he began to move them absently, clicking the tips of his nails against the soft dirt.
Alright, he had.. come to a decision. She would either: end up leaving at the first moment she could, laughing her a** off at him or she could simply go on to tease him like the others. That's what everyone did. What they always did.
Pfft, l-like.. he cared.
"It's because I'm no damn good with others." He said simply, nose scrunching and causing his scowl to grow fiercer. "I've always been.. teased. 'You look like a female, with all that pink on you!' They'd say. 'Roxanne? Are you serious?! Hah! That's a girl's name!'" Rox' glanced up at Akela momentarily before snorting and looking away, avoiding the urge to look at her any longer and honestly not giving a s**t if she teased him or up and left.
He had thicker skin nowadays, he could deal with it.

Akela laid there watching him. Again he said it wasn't her. Maybe it wasnt she would find out though soon enough or so she believed because she asked what it was. A frown found its way a crossed her muzzle as she listened to him speak. Her heart sinking for him. "Who cares if you have a girl ish name and that you glow pink. It doen't make you a girl and for the record you look just fine to me. I like how you look."She crawled a little closer and nudge his cheek with her nose,"I wont make fun of you and I'm sorry others are so dam rude and did."
