Cheyenne turned her head when something caught her attention and froze when she saw Jake. She put her head instantly down on the desk, giving a soft groan.

Jake wasl ooking out the window, staring into space as his pencil continued to draw circles. He didn't notice Cheyenne.

When class was over, Cheyenne quickly packed up and left before Jake could get up.

Jake snapped awake when he heard someone's book fall off their table. He looked at his notebook, seeing all the circles. Sighing, Jake closed his book and put his stuff in his backpack, then left the classroom.

Cheyenne met up with her boyfriend. She sighed, leaning against his chest. She felt tired now. He rubbed her back soothingly.

Jake walked down the hallway, staring ahead, thinking. He walked past Cheyenne and her boyfriend, not noticing them. He wasn't very attentive today. He found his locker, which wasn't far from them, and opened it, putting his books in. First day coming back to his old school, and he already wanted to go back to the other one.

"Hey, Cheyenne!" She looked up as one of her friends called her. The girl stopped in front of her, "D-did you hear? Jake's back!" She said. Cheyenne sighed, nodding.

Jake leaned against his locker, leaning on his forehead. He closed his eyes. Maybe he would disappear. Maybe he would appear back at his house where he wouldn't have to think about Cheyenne and how beautiful she was now, and how he had been a jerk to her before.

"I don't feel too good, I'm going to the nurse." Cheyenne said as her friends started talking about Jake. She hurried away, going outside for some fresh air. She sat under a tree, taking in deep breathes.

Jake straightened himself and walked out of the school, going over to what his favorite tree was when he first came here two years ago. It was still there. Good, he thought, and climbed it, fidning a suitable branch and sitting there. He could see the whole schoolyard from there, and this was where he usually thought. Leaning againstthe tree and sighing, he tried to clear his mind.

Cheyenne looked up at the sky, "What do I do? "She said aloud to herself. She moved some bangs from her eyes, feeling her heart aching as she thought of Jake.

Jake heard someone and looked down, seeing Cheyenne under the tree. He decided to watch her from there. It was stalking, but Cheyenne already hated him. What harm could it do?

"I fell like I still...have feelings for Jake but...but I got over him after he moved away," Cheyenne hid her face against her knee, "I'm so confused!"

"Damn...." Cheyenne muttered, getting up and picking up her stuff. "I think the gym's open..." She went inside and went to the gym. It was empty and there were some basketballs on the far side of the gym. She put down her backpack and took a ball, starting to play some hoops with herself.
