And then we can check out Kladno and Hranice and surprise our friends there D:.

Then again I dont know if I'm considered his friend anymore since I hvaent contacted him in easily a year.

That is an excellent idea.
Then we can go get lost in the Czech Republic together! And scare the Czech people. And stuff.

Hell move down here with me, you can't get away from Spanish here. Well you can, we're getting an influx of pasty white gringos. Of course, if you're looking for Castilian then no go, it's Mexican here. We do have a Spaniard here though. Either she hasn't been told of the differences between American personal space and Spanish personal space, or she really likes me. D:

Oh no! Never think that about me! I love all people of hispanic descent...whether they're from Spain or Mexico, or anywhere else. heart

Oh My GOD! I want a/to be a foreign exchange student so bad! crying crying crying crying crying crying

Ok, I think I'm gonna start to rant know. I think that my parents not letting me go to Spain or something is the one thing holding me back from total fluency. I mean, if I lived in a house where they only speak Spanish, and all I hear all day is Spanish, I would HAVE to use it to "survive". And then I'd easily become fluent. Every morning, I listen to Spanish music/podcasts with out any kind of interaction in English. The problem is, the minute I take the iPod off, I hear English again, which ruins everything. I've GOT to do this! sweatdrop

So then I thought of letting a student live here. We could speak Spanish a lot, even though he/she'd want to speak English also. I wouldn't mind, because I'd have a friend at school who can actually speak Spanish well. whee But, my parents aren't good with that idea either. It Sucks so bad. cry

So, I guess I'll never get to experience anything like I dream. It's makes me sour inside.
Maybe you could try asking them to go to Mexico for 2 weeks during the summer?

It took me half my life to convince my mum to let me go to France (I might be going to France for a month this summer!), but it took me like 5 minutes to convince her to send me to Quebec for 2 weeks the previous summer. Quebec is (obviously) a lot closer to us than France so it's much cheaper and easier to get there, and 2 weeks was enough for my French to improve but not enough for her to grow sick with worry.

Course, if you go to Mexico you'll have to speak the Mexican dialect instead of Standard Spain Spanish, but believe me, it's still a LOT better than nothing.

Hey I can speak Spanish any way. And it's not much of a big difference. I listen to music mostly sung by Mexican singers anyway.

There's an organisation EF (Education First) that holds language courses in Spain and other countries. The course can be 2-32 weeks and you'd still live with a host family. Maybe your parents would let you go for like 4 weeks during the summer holidays or something?

Oh, here's the link if you're interested: EF

I was an exchange student in the US. To be specific Fairmont, Minnesota. It's a small town with about 12,000 inhabitants. I was there till end of June last year. Now thinking back I'm not sure if the US was my best choice. I live in Germany and feel like US American culture is a lot like the German one. Duh, a lot of ancestors of the people I met in Fairmont were Germans.. But nevertheless it was a really interesting experience and I can recommend spending a year abraod to anyone. Even if you're rather shy. It's really great to improve your language skills, make new friends and exciting experiences!
I live in Estonia, and I thought that US would be a little boring. Besides, I see it on TV daily. xp But recently I've been thinking about Australia. The only propblem is that the school year there starts in January so I would lose two years of school here...

Do I see a slight hint of annoyance? xd
I've been to Sweden several times, it's really close to Estonia, but I have failed miserably at Swedish.

I guess Germany. ...Or northern Italy if I can help it. I wanna go to South Tirol/Alto Adige gonk

I want to visit Russia and the Czech Republic, though there are things that daunt me.

I would never survive in a Japanese/Chinese school where theyre like, STUDYSTUDYSTUDYSTUDY!!

Never survive.

Of course, my financial status keeps me from so much as exiting the state so...No go x_x
Germany was my first thought, Munich seemed like a nice place for an exchange student.

Russia scares me. Estonia is right next to it and we're constantly hearing terrifying news from there... Just yesterday seven people froze to death in Moscow. x_x

I completely agree.

French conjugations, for me anyway, are a piece of cake. There are more of them in French, but they're easy for me. I once memorised 6 French conjugations in LITERALLY 60 seconds. I can recite them perfectly to this day.

But with Spanish, it's like... gonk

French does come kind of naturally. Spanish confuses me. Maybe it's because we have to learn things so randomly. xp
