So ghosts were see-through...okay! Tyyne had never seen a ghost before, clearly Vance needed to be her expert on the matter. It was his patrol! Tyyne stuck close to Vance as he warned her, keeping her hands on his shoulders and peeking at everything he was looking through. "Your daddy has so many clothes!" Did he wear all this? This was almost as much clothing as she'd seen on Evari's floor on a regular basis! Did all boys wear lots of clothes? He had more shirts than she did! Was...was that a bad thing?

Tyyne kept an eye out for ghosts until Vance gave the okay that the room was clear, cheering and backing out carefully. As Vance mentioned purifying and salt Tyyne blinked, tilting her head curiously. What did salt have to do with purifying stuff? "Alright!" He'd just have to show her. Tyyne walked with Vance to the top of the stairs, pausing a moment to stare down at them with wide eyes. Wait a second...Tyyne had never walked down stairs before! It was hard enough going up them! "Um...I...I've never used stairs before..." She said uncertainly to her little green friend, frowning.

"Yeah. I asked him if it was so he doesn't have to wash them after getting dirty from being outside, but he said no." Vance wasn't really sure why someone needed so many clothes. He himself only wore so many. If it were up to him, he would wear the same thing all the time. Then again, he didn't ahve to do laundry anyway

Vance looked back up at Tyyne, putting the pieces together as he pondered her predicament. Oh right. Hooves might be difficult on stairs. "Uuuuh... I'll help you!" Vance declared bravely. The chivalrous child approached Tyyne's side, holding her hand to steady her. "I won't let you fall, Tyyne!"

It wasn't just her hooves, it was the way her legs moved and were shaped and the way her lower body was placed. And she'd never walked down stairs before, she hadn't walked up them either but that had been considerably easier. All Tyyne could see was herself losing her balance and falling down the stairs and hurting herself! She smiled at Vance when he offered to help her down, taking his hand and holding it tightly with both of her own. If he was sure...it wasn't as if they could just stand here all day waiting for Mr. Donovan to come back and help her down! "O-okay..." She murmured uncertainly, not because she didn't trust Vance but she was still scared, all she could see was that fall!

Tyyne moved one leg down to the next step, and then another leg...and the other...and the other, practically holding her breath the entire way down. It was slow going...very slow, almost painfully so. But could you blame her? She didn't want to get hurt! When she finally got to the bottom and didn't feel anymore uneven flooring beneath her she let out a sigh of relief, letting go of Vance's hand to hug him tightly. "Thank you so much, Vance!" She chirped, nuzzling her cheek against his. She made it down with his help! Yay! She probably would have waited all night for an adult to come help her down too if Vance hadn't offered himself, the option of jumping had sort of been there but she was too scared of not making it to the bottom and hitting a step and really hurting herself. It hadn't been worth the risk.

Vance had been growing impatient the longer the decent took. It probably showed in his face, but he didn't outright say so. He was better mannered than that, but he was just a kid. Eye rolling was saved for his imagination. He loved Tyyne, and he'd never want to hurt her. He was just a kid. This whole helping thing was tough!

He smiled thoughtfully as he was thanked, enthusiastically returning the hug. At least helping got him hugs. Not that there was ever a shortage of them.

"Nooo problem!" He lied happily, looking around and trying to remember what he was doing before the big decent. Basement? Ghosts?

Oh, kitty!

Boxer had been waiting by the basement door, licking his paws in a dignified manner despite his undignified appearance. "Boxer! He could attack the ghosts! Animals have 6th senses." The mangy cat looked up briefly from his grooming, then went right back to it. The small curio boy was of little interest.
Vance opened the basement door, to which the cat reacted with a sudden jolt, not expecting it to do so. Boxer seemed to decide the basement was worth exploring and leaped down the stairs into the darkness.

Vance paused and tilted his head. "Oh right.. stairs." Vance looked back and smiled. "Boxer is checking it out, so we don't have to!"

Tyyne didn't realize that Vance was growing more and more impatient the longer it took her to get down the stairs, though she would feel a little...annoyed if she did know? Annoyed or apologetic. It's hard to tell. Either way, it was a good thing she couldn't read his mind. She even bought his lie to be complete truth, letting Vance go after her hug to look around for what they were doing next. They still had to check the basement and the garage...but the basement meant more stairs! Tyyne definitely didn't want to keep going up and down those if she could help it, but at the same time she didn't want to ruin Vance's game. Curse this awkward body! The kitty caught her attention, smiling a little at his presence and feeling slightly more at ease with the creature now. "Oh, do they?" Tyyne's ears perked at Vance's statement, looking to Boxer and giggling. Boxer had a sixth sense, huh? But hey! Tyyne was mostly animal! Did that give her a sixth sense too~?

Probably not, but it was fun to play along.

She watched as he went to the basement door, her heart falling into her stomach as a feeling of dread sank in. Didn't he learn the lesson from the last time they dealt with stairs? Tyyne was about to protest about going into the basement when she saw Boxer go into it instead, blinking and watching the cat with the smallest bit of envy. The cat could go down the stairs with such ease, yet she could barely do a few steps without a lot of help. Sigh. "That's a great idea, Vance!" Tyyne said with relief as he seemed to remember last time. "It'll let us investigate the rest of the house while he does that for us! Cover more ground, right?"

"Right!" Vance replied with a stern nod of his head. "Let's check the gara---" There was a loud clap of thunder, which nearly shocked the boy out of his socks. "EEYAA!" He squealed suddenly. His mouth formed a wide thin line as his eyes darted toward the windows. He had almost forgotten the storm.

"D-do we gotta check it right now? I-I could do it l-later.." He asked, trying to make it sound like going any further now would not be in Tyyne's best interest.
"W-we could uuh..." He frantically tried to think of something that involved loud noises.
