Things seemed to be moving well. Roy protected Victoria just long enough for Sue to arrive, in which he then covered her and the horse as well until she got Rath onto the horse and rode off with her father. After that, it was Oujay's turn to cover, and he could keep on his business. Fortunately, the wolf from last night was back and assisting the redhead.
He was aware the Laguz was injured, since he seemed to be favoring his shoulder ever since last night. So he made sure to cover the wolf as well, in case the injury perked up.
"Don't push yourself too much. You're not fully healed yet." he reminded Grave.
A few parries here, an axe kick on a lance before a fist meeting the face there, incapacitating guards galore. Just as he was about to head to the stage to confront Rogvald and King James, a woman appeared. Someone that the city had not seen in a long time.
"Nino!" he called out, getting pushed back a little in his clash with a guard wielding a sword. "Nggh... move it!" he growled, shifting his weight as he sidestepped, pulling his sword away just enough to allow the guard to stumble forward in surprise. He then spun around the guard before swinging the metal sheath at the back of the guard's head. He dropped from the concussive strike.
"Wolf, come on!" he called out as Roy rushed towards the stage to back up Nino, just in case Rogvald was planning something to use against Nino.

Lend me your ear!
...Heed my words. ℜogvald xxxxxRogvald watched the battle with both frustration and glee. His plans were ruined, but the resistance had trapped themselves inside the city, which had the entire power of the Learanian army at its disposal! They were fools. "You there!" he called to a guard. "Send word to the gates and the barracks! GET ME MORE SOLDIERS!! NOW!"
xxxxxEverything would be fine. They would all die. It would be fine. That was what Rogvald was telling himself. However, when that green-haired girl came upon the platform, Rogvald's heart sank. "What... you- how?!" He shook his head, totally unable to stand for Nino being before him. And James could see her, too! "Away with you, wench! Guards, seize her! She.. she is clearly leading this group of traitors against the king! She and that savage were orchestrating this plot from the beginning! She.. has come to assassinate him! KILL HER! DO SOMETHING! JAMES, DO NOT LET HER NEAR!!"
I advise you to listen. Not doing so could prove... deadly.

As the young woman came up onto the platform, she heard the old man nearby screech in protest. He must be the adviser, she thought. She shook her head frantically as he screamed for the guards to kill her. A familiar young man had begun to run up behind her. It was Roy!
He was coming to support her! After all, he didn't know what she had done, yet...
But the other guards had begun to come toward her. "No! Listen to me! James!!" She backed away, holding Sophos out in front of her and looking uncertainly toward the young king. Fefga had said he was misled. She said he would understand if she could only talk to him.
She turned her attention towards the oncoming threat. "I know you. I know you all! I don't want to fight." She begged tearfully. "I don't want to kill anybody. You have to stop! You can't listen to that man! It's me!"

Lord Raetia was going as fast as his wealthy boots could carry him, but it was fruitless. The thrown bolas caught his legs and wrapped around, sending him colliding with the cobblestone below him. Lord Raetia shrieked and began to panic. He didn't want to die. He was destined for greatness! He was a ruler of Learania! How dare anybody treat him poorly!
He pulled out his hand and in it was a dagger inside an elaborately decorated sheath. He removed the dagger and began cutting through the bolas with rapid yanks of his arm. When he was free, he scurried to his feet to see that the assassin was before him. "You knew my name... I should have known something was off when you called me by name...!" He stopped for a moment and breathed heavily. "C-come now! I-I can get you anything you want! Anything at all! You want the rest of your fee!?" Lord Raetia pulled out a bag of gems and threw it at the assassin. "There! Take it! Take it and leave me be...!"
The side of Lord Zeon's mouth curled upward ever so slightly when he heard Nino's voice. It was a grand surprise and one he for one was very pleased with. In his own mind, she was the worthy one. James had yet to prove himself as she had. Because of that, Lord Zeon would listen to her.
As the soldiers ran, there was a banging sound and then a magical transparent shield jutted up in front of Nino. The soldiers could not reach her. "No. Stay put." he ordered, contradicting Rogvald's command. He glanced at the advisor with his deathly stare. "We will hear her, Lord Sceptan. You do not make orders for the king."

I've been blessed with the gifts of the gifts of the Lady Saint, so show me some respect! It's not every day you find a rarity like me.₪Victoria₪ Now that the nomad was in a rider's grip, that of his daughter, no less, Victoria could focus on doing the other part of a bishop's duty. Drawing out her Divine tome, she read the spell inside, releasing its magic just as some of the guards tried to come close to some of the other defenders. As she moved, careful to stay under the cover of the more heavy melee fighters, Victoria was getting a little closer to the redheaded swordsman, and the one he called a 'wolf'.
And just then, she thought she saw a blur go past her. What was that? Her brown eyes blinked in surprise when she saw the billowing of an ever familiar cape in the wind. Had Nino at last returned to Learania? Where had she been all this time, and why had she been there? Either way, she was looking for danger getting that close to the adviser and the King. "Wait, Nino, what are you doing?" She asked, but her voice likely wasn't heard by the rushing magician.
Victoria expected more guards to come. However, it looked like one of the nobles' words had held them back from striking, and thankfully, they weren't going after the one whom charged to the adviser and the King. Her face, her voice... it was not mistakable who she was. "Did you see what I saw...? Was that truly Nino?" She asked the young swordsman. If he had answers, that would be fantastic.ΘжElmine's LightжΘ If you are my ally, fear not, for healing is on your way! If you're my enemy, you'll be purged, and dead you shall stay.

He had predicted this. Rogvald was just to easy to predict. Of course he would sic the guards on Nino, just because she was there.
Roy moved in front of Nino, but just then, a barrier appeared around Nino. A glare from Lord Zeon towards Rogvald, and the sudden halt of the guards was rather pleasing. The swordsman sheathed the sword and looked at the formidable noble. While he didn't trust Rogvald, Lord Zeon at least looked like a person worthy of his respect. Nevertheless, he steeled himself just in case the adviser ignored House Zeon's threat. Victoria approached him, asking if that was truly Nino.
"Aye. It is Nino. Be careful though... Rogvald isn't the kind of man to let someone like Lord Zeon stop him from completing whatever he's planning." he whispered to the female bishop.
He then took Victoria by the sleeve and pulled her back so that they would be behind Nino, but close enough so that they could move in front of the magegod if Rogvald did as Roy expected.

With each strike that they made, Isadora felt the blow behind them had becoming less forceful. Did she do it? Had she made Leon understand what she had been struggled?
When she heard Leon spoke, a relief flooded through her. So she did make him understand her. Now they could stop this madness and-
"Milady, believe me when I say... we tried all we could to getta solution that wasn't gonna bring this kinda panic. When there ain't evidence of Rath bein' a guilty man, he's innocent. 'Cuz of that, I couldn't let 'im die."
...
Oh, for the love of St. Elimine!
Isadora quickly blocked Leon's blow with her shield. This force behind the blade was not as powerful and intense like the previous ones, but it still had enough to fight back. Seriously, just when she thought they could stop fighting, the brunet continued forward. It seemed knight's duty was still his first priority.
"Leon, I understand." Isadora replied as she blocked another attack from him. "But I can't let you and the others make Rath escape. If you do, you will make him as a wanted man!"
The paladin swung her blade against Leon's, parrying it before raising her shield to block. "Besides, do you think Rath wishes to be rescued? Are you trying to go against his wish? He never ask to be saved, not even when we saw that it was wrong for him to be killed."
Before she could go any further, she heard a familiar shout. Isadora ceased her fighting with Leon. Who was it? Was it someone she knew so well? Turning her head around, she spotted a familiar person that she hadn't seen in ages. Isadora lightly spoke, "Nino..."
Nino... She was alive. That would mean Rath didn't kill her. That would mean he was innocent from the charges Rogvald placed on him. Relief flooded in her body once again as she watched Nino went to James. Finally, they could end this madness and save their country from Sentria and Mordache.
The old git was shouting orders, trying to make Nino a traitor just like Rath. How dare he? How dare he try to frame Nino when he was the one who tried to figure out what had happened to her.
The paladin sheathed her sword and snapped her reins to ride to the platform where Nino was. As she rode, she heard Lord Zeon telling the guards to cease their order and told the advisor that they had to listen to Nino. She had to hear what Nino had to say to King James. She was the only one to clear this mess up. And if Rogvald was trying to do something sinister, then he would have her sword to answer.
Isadora pulled her reins as she got close to the platform. Watching the scene before her, the paladin waited to hear the Archsag- No, her captain had to say.

King James
Take me home, to the land of my fathers...
The boy suddenly stood as Nino and the others rushed the stage, and the throne on which he sat. This was not the first attempt on his life since he had risen to the throne; honestly, he was getting more than just a little bit tired of them by now.
As Nino approached, he automatically drew the rapier at his waist and held it out, his eyes narrowed, his expression neutral. He made no move to attack, as he saw none against himself. And when Nino held out Sophos, he lightly tapped the staff with the very tip of his blade.
Lord Zeon's proclamation caught his ear, and he looked up thoughtfully. "That is correct, Lords Zeon and Sceptan. Neither of you make orders for the king," he added, a bit more firmly-- fighting his voice's urge to crack prepubescently. "I-- hrm. But yes. I admit, we expected some resistance today, but this is a more interesting development than we had anticipated." He closed his eyes, then sheathed his weapon, crossing his arms.
He'd had to admit, things changed for the young boy as a king. After about the third arrow narrowly missed his head, he'd started to take his role more seriously, and had lately been more frequently questioning his trusted advisor's intent. The fact that he now saw a woman-- unmistakably the lady Nino, for he had seen her portraits many times-- standing before his eyes, the legendary Sophos clutched in her hand...
"Please," he said. "Explain yourself."

Oujay had stepped up, it was nice. But, he couldn't fend off all the soldiers trying to get Sue by himself. He took down one soldier and another was striking at his back. But that soldier didn't get a chance at landing a hit, as Abel's broadsword intervened, and swept that spear into the sky. The blade was then turned sideways and Abel swung it at the soldier, knocking him to the ground with the broad side. Abel turned and gave a large toothy grin at Oujay along with a thumbs up. "Don't forget about me! I've got you both covered!"
Abel continued to follow after Sue, making sure no soldier managed to get a spear into her horse, which was kind of hard, considering spears were pretty good at that. But Abel found that when somebody came leaping through, swinging a large sword, people tended to back off. "Alright, keep going! Haha!" (brain died, yay)

The young woman withdrew her staff after the King acknowledged her. She was grateful as a barrier was put up around her and a man proclaimed that she should be heard. This calmed the crowd... "Thank you..."
She looked around nervously for a moment. Her friends... they had come immediately to her side. But where was Rath? She scanned the crowd, then looked back at James. They all expected her to say something...
"As some of you know..." She began in a shaky, guilt ridden voice. "I am Nino. And I am not dead. Rath has done nothing wrong."
Her voice became stronger. "Nothing is his fault. What have you done? Where is he?" She looked accusingly toward the Adviser whom had so quickly sentenced her to death and accused her of wanting to assassinate the king. "First you'll tell me that... Then you'll explain why you've done this to my home."

I fight for honor, for justice, for chivalry! That will always be my only reason...~x -{Leon}- x~Justice's Crusader Isadora said she understood, but what she said afterward made no sense! How could a leader's death be be something they themselves would want? How could Rath want to die when there were so many who loved and respected the Nomad as a Captain and a friend? None of it made sense. None of it at all. It only served to make Leon think that Isadora was just being stubborn in something that she called her duty. Being a knight wasn't about serving those in power, it was about defending the defenseless! Hadn't she learned...?
Just as he was about to raise his blade for another clash against Isadora, a flash went by him. Was that who he thought it was? The brunette blinked in surprise when he saw the Lady Nino, standing up to the oppressor and the young king he "advised". How brave she was, but at the same time, how reckless! Still, it did prove the nomad innocent of the crimes he was accused. Nino was here. She was alive. And... Nino would probably save them all.
"Milady Nino..!!!" The Great Knight exclaimed. Same as Isadora, he rode closely, but not too close to the confrontation. Should his weapons be needed, he'd use them, but he hoped that he wouldn't need them at all. The Great Knight hoped in all sincerity that with the great Archsage's words, that this madness would at last reach its end. She was talking to the King and at last giving him the initiative to stand up to that cruel man at his right hand side, after all.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ The defeated can rise again... and fight for what is right!

The only reason Ephraim was capable of returning to Eyris so fast was due to Kishuna's ability to teleport from one location to another. However..that meant using up a fair amount of quissence but they somehow managed and were there just in time after informing everyone who had seemingly been there way before he had. He had gone around the town to actually inform other members of the resistance and plan to save Rath so it was only a little natural for him to be just a tad late. The simple steel greatlance he had in his hand was well enough. It seemed that the solder passage was still empty, it had not yet been discovered..good..that was a good sign. Sue and the others hadn't returned yet and despite all the clashing of the swords Ephraim could hear, that didn't mean soldiers wouldn't be coming anytime soon. Jynx himself much? Footsteps were heard and Ephraim retreated back into the dark shadows where he was barely visable. Soldiers? From where? Barracks? Crap, if they move then they'll only block the only path of getting Rath out of here. "Kishuna, follow me" knowing the morph, he wasn't going to like what this lancer was going to be doing, but they hadn't had a choice if they wanted to get through all of this without any bloodshed. It was hard enough to knock them out cold already. Before the soldiers could even identify whose heavy footsteps those were, by the time they even turned around, a white steel pole was seen before it smacked them across the head and they went flying across the dirt. "Sorry, but I need you guys out of commission for the time being" Aw, seriously? Just when he thought he could have gotten a little alone time with his dear prince. They've been in and out of this whole 'rescue' thing so why the hell not? The morph deserved something...well....taking Ephraim's quissence just to travel here was enough Kishuna supposed. But what the heck, its not like he's just a useless clump of meat who can't even fight anymore. This time he returns fully trained how to fight. So he did what the prince told him to and quietly followed him. Rough way to handle a bunch if he did say so himself. One was seen approaching behind Ephraim which only spurred onto the morph's anger. Shoulder was grabbed as said soldier was forced to turn around only to meet an angry fist to the face. Nobody touched his boyfriend. Tristai didn't even have time to move before the executioner started to make his way toward a tree... tree...? Elly! Damn! She KNEW she should've stayed closer to her during all of this, it was too chaotic for her to be out in the open with only a ranged weapon. This would have been a really great time for Tristai herself to actually have brought her own bow along, but, oh well, too late now... She sprinted towards the large man, sword drawn, and no intention of keeping to the "no kill" agreement. She also didn't give a damn about this little girl wandering out of no where with her demands of stopping, because obviously THAT was going oh so well, considering, oh, everyone was still hacking away at each other... the guy had enough meat on him anyway that it wasn't like she'd be able to cleave through him, a little slice here and there wouldn't be too bad, and if it was, who cared...?Move! He's coming toward you! What!? Elly's head shot up toward the direction of the executioner. How was he able to pinpoint her location!? The sniper panic'd a little, frantically looking around to see if there was any way possible to escape. There was, but time was the only problem! Elly couldn't think anymore and just as she was about to make a move, Tristai appeared in time to stop the large man and change targets. "Tristai" The sniper called, she remained where she was since it was a perfect location for her to see the entire courtyard and the battle going on between the ranger and the executioner....so as long as that man didn't get any closer where he was capable of seeing up her skirt. Elly had forgotten about that and you would think skirt the last time would be a lesson. Hmm, nope. Nevermind that, arrow, now. She drew and arrow and knocked her bow, carefully aiming at the very foot of this man. If he was going to be taken down, they had to find some way to knock him out, even if it meant having to attack him in various locations. If he wasn't going to stop despite that girl shouting, then they had no choice if he wasn't even willing to listen to words. For the time being, he remained still. ((....NEVER....AGAIN....*facepalms* I am so brain dead I started dying toward Elly's post D'x Please tell me if there is somethign I missed since its like....FOUR OF THESE....SUCKERS. Also yes, I asked Renault and he gave the Ok for me to puppet Kishuna :I ))

Lend me your ear!
...Heed my words. ℜogvald xxxxxThe advisor looked back at Lord Zeon with a wide-eyed scowl, trembling at his actions. Would nobody obey him?! The noble fool! Even he dared to oppose! Rogvald calmed himself when he saw that James had risen. But when the boy allowed the girl to speak, he began to tremble again, slightly. Even James was beginning to be moved against him.
xxxxxIt was still unbelievable that Nino had truly come forth! Rogvald had not expected such a move. She had come at the most inconvenient time, too. She was ruining everything!! He had to try to keep the act together. He couldn't allow her to turn him into the villain in people's eyes. "I haven't the slightest idea where he is, girl. Your guild attacked and took him off somewhere! Your guild has caused nothing but trouble for this country and have been against King James from the very beginning, despite his rule being just!" He couldn't stop his shaking, but managed to grin at her in an attempt to make her feel small and feeble. "Look at what you've all caused! Never before have the people been so fearful!"
xxxxxHe pointed at her dramatically. "This is all your doing! You are the cause of all this hate! We have done nothing to your home, stupid girl. Your guild has done this!" His hand turned into a fist and punched the air as it whooshed down at Rogvald's side. "And I noticed you ignored The King's command. Because you are just as guilty!!" Rogvald turned to James. "My King... do not fall for her lies! Everything we have done has been just! Everything tied to her has caused pain for this country! You must dispatch her!!"
I advise you to listen. Not doing so could prove... deadly.

"House Sceptan, shut up. I'm sure Nino will answer once she finds out what happened to her lover." said Roy, irritated with Rogvald's baseless accusations.
His attention then turned to Nino, before he answered her question about Rath's whereabouts in a more polite tone compared to what was given to Rogvald.
"Sue has him now. Don't worry. He should be able to pull through thanks to Victoria's healing arts." he told her.
Rogvald then began to spout more accusations, even going so far as to say get rid of Nino. His grip tightened on the sheath before he glanced over at King James.
"Your Majesty, I wonder if you have been aware that your adviser has been plotting behind your back, making decisions that you should have made. A just rule cannot be obtained if the adviser is planning something entirely different from what you envision." he said.
