Eragon shook his head. Turning, he began pacing again. He would stop at times, but after moments he would continue. Illyria just sat on the floor, feeling tired all of a sudden.
Sighing, Eragon sat next to his sister. "Nope... can't think of anything... wish Buffy was here... BUFFY!" he yelled, jumping up.
"We need to check on Buffy and DS! Common! Let's go!"
Grabbing Illyria and pulling her up with him, he began walking in the direction of the library.

"Why?" Eriol started to follow his new friends, but stopped just as quickly. "I mean, would'n they just be stuck like everyone else? I can't imagine anythin worse than that happenin... and what we've gotta do is go see that crazy guy again!"
But was that really the best idea? He sighed, rubbing his head with his hair. "I don't really know, but- OUCH!" Wincing, he brought his hand down to look at it. The small black winged creature was hanging off, claws dug into his skin. "Wow... I'd nearly forgotten about this critter. I wonder if maybe it could help us, whaddya think?"

Eragon walked back over to Eriol. Taking the clinging creature, Eragon held her close to his face. "Spectra right? Can you help us? We're kinda stuck, we don't know what to do."
Illyria watched as her brother walked back to Eriol and picked the dangling creature off Eriol's hand. She saw him as it some questions, but she couldn't make out what he was saying. She felt soo tired all of a sudden. Sitting on the ground nearby she thought. "Mm... a little rest might be good..."

Spectra peeped cheerily. Detaching herself from Eriol's hand, she zoomed into his pocket and wiggled around, making strange cheeping noises.
"Hey... that tickles!" Eriol giggled, reaching into his pocket to get the little animal out, but when he did she was clinging to the small bottle. "Urm... this thing? Is this the problem? Or will it help us?" He crossed his fingers for the second; if taking the bottle was what triggered this whole mess he'd never forgive himself.
Shaking her head at the first statement, Spectra nodded at the second and cheeped loudly. Bottle in claws, she hopped out of the boy's grasp and fluttered down to the ground. Without opening the bottle, she tried to splash them with it.
Eriol winced, then relaxed when he realized the bottle was still closed. "Jeesh, you silly thing! You could've killed us, you know that?" Furious, he stomped away, muttering to himself. "Stupid little bugger..."

Watching Spectra, Illyria stiffled a yawn. "Why does she want us to splash ourselves with the Lephrachan Essence? Do you think she know's it's deadly?"
"No clue, but it's worth a shot... I'll try it!" said Eragon, grabbing the bottle from the floor.
"No!! Eragon! It will kill you!" yelled Illyria, her eyes full of fright.
Shaking his head, Eragon popped the bottle open. "Just a bit on my finger, that's all."
And he poured...

"What? No, you shouldn't!" He stared helplessly as his new friend poured what could possibly be the most dangerous thing he'd ever seen right on him. And kept staring as it made the finger sparkle, shimmer... and vanish right before his eyes. "What the... how?" He blinked, rubbed his eyes, and looked again. Still gone. "I'm tired of seeing impossible stuff already! If it's magic, or science, or whatever, I wanna know what, and now!"
Spectra flew back up and burrowed herself in Eriol's hair again, peeping contentedly.

"Mmmm... this is an odd sensation. I can feel my finger, but it feels numb, distant. Odd..." said Eragon. Pulling Eragon's hand towards her, she took a closer look at the space where his finger used to be.
"This isn't gold... it's as if your finger isn't there anymore. Why?" she asked no one in particular.
Gripping the bottle, Eragon began reading the label. "Look! There's something underneath!" he said as he pulled off the label. Beneath the 'Lephrachan Essence label was another, more ancient.
"Outer Limits Liquid"
"I can't read much of the writing, just a few words. Here, it get's clearer around the back." he said as he squinted to read it.
"If stol-n, time will stop u--il it is returned to it's rightful place. If use while in this state, it will slo--y erase the pe---n it is poured up--. The only way to reverse it is..."
"Reverse it!? How??" screamed Illyria, shaking in fright for her brother.
Eragon paled. "It doesn't say... the label is faded with age from there on."

Eriol shivered. What if they never managed to get Eragon's finger back? How could he be a Jedi and fight the dark stuff without his finger? "Well... there's gotta be a reversal, right? Something ta get it back to it's rightful state..."
He froze, thinking. He'd heard those words recently. "Lemme see that," he muttered, grabbing at the bottle. "If stolen? Oh crap..." That meant it was his fault after all! "So since I nicked this stupid thing, time stopped. And we used it..." Squinting, he brought the bottle closer. "If use while in this state... it wil slo... slow? Slowly erase the pe... pen? No... person! It's goin ta erase him!" His new friend was getting erased, and it was all his fault.
"I did this," he mumbled, burying his head in his arms. "It's my fault, and now you're disappearin..." He snuck another glance at the bottle in his hands, and jolted upwards. "Wait... until it is returned to it's rightful place! So all I gotta do is take it back to that wacko shop, right?" He chanced a look at Eragon, eyes filled with hope.

Eragon blinked. Pointing to the bottle, he froze. "You stole it? You STOLE the bottle? Why? Blah, nevermind!" he yelled, waving off the shocked boy. "What's done is done. I hope you've learned your lesson Eriol, never steal, especially from old wicked men with long beards."
With a sigh, Eragon paced the room. "We need to get this bottle back to Abster's shop."
"But what about you Eragon? It doesn't say how to save you." said Illyria with a sniffle.
Eragon waved them off. "I'll be fine, let's worry about starting time again!" Yelling, he watched as another finger dissapeared.
"We need to go NOW!"

"Hey, I just didn't want that creep to have something so dangerous, ya know? I thought maybe DS could take care of it or somethin. But... you guys shouldn't go back. I'm the one who took it, so I'm the one who's gotta fix it, right? Besides, who knows what'll happen if he sees all of us back there? If I'm alone, I can just slip in, stick it back in the shop, and come back." Blanching as another finger fizzled out of view, he looked through his backpack again. "I just need somethin ta fight with, just in case..."

Illyria turned pale. "You shouldn't go alone.. let me help!" she said as she tried to sit up, but quickly fell back down, groaning. "Guys... I ain't feeling so hot..."
Eragon jumped to his sister, holding her upright. "What's wrong sis?"
Illyria held her head. "No clue... oww..." She held her hand.
Taking her hand in his, Eragon took off the bandaid. The skin around bite was a deep shade of purple, the bite itself was an ugly shade of green.
Illyria rested her hand on Eragon's chest. She breathed deep, asleep.
Looking up at the boy, Eragon was grim. "We need to get her home. Go, take care of that evil wizard. I'll start walking to the library, when the time comes back, atleast she'll be safe. Buffy might be able to help."

"Urgh..." The bite did look nasty, he had to admit. "I guess that wasn't just a scratch... okay, you take her home, and I'll take care of mister creep." Winking at the two, he shouldered his backpack and ran back down the street.
The shop was still there, as sinister-looking as ever. "What on earth was I thinkin?" He frowned at himself. "I was thinkin it's my fault and I should fix it. Besides, Eragon and Illy aren't in any condition to fight. But if I hafta, I can." Going through the backpack once more, he pulled out his magic wand and his toy lightsaber. Neither would be much use in a real fight, but he still felt safer with them. He stuck the wand in his back pocket, holding the lightsaber with one hand, and fingering the bottle in his pocket with the other. "Here goes nothing," he gulped, and pushed the door open with a soft creak.

Abster sat and watched the boy enter the shop. Sitting in the shadows, he watched as the boy looked around the room.
"Welcome back boy... forget something?" he asked, inching foward, into the light.
Meanwhile....
"Common Illy, just a little more." Eragon puffed, breathing hard as he half-carried, half-dragged towards the library.
"mmm...waffles..." she whispered, clinging to her brother as they walked.

Okay, plan A had clearly failed. Time to make up a plan B on the spot. "Listen mister, I'm sorry, but I kinda took somethin. But I'm here to return it, so just take it and fix whatever it did, and then everyone wins, right?" He pulled the bottle from his pocket and set it on the table next to him. "Now we're even, right mister? So if you could just fix what that thing did, I'll leave you alone, and it'll be like nothin ever happened."

Abster chuckled. "I cannot fix what you screwed up boy! It is upto you to figure out a solution." Shifting back into the shadows, Eriol lost sight of the old man.
His voice came from the darkest on the other side of the room. "Right now, your friend is trying to save his sister. You see, your poor girl-friend risked her life to get you all out of here in the first place. She is now slowly feeling the effects of the poison flowing through her veins."
Suddenly, his voice shifted to another shadow across the room. "Then there's your other friend. He has already begun to lose more body parts. I believe his arm has just disapeared."
Without warning, Abster stepped out of the shadow he originally inhibited. In his right hand he held a bottle with a blue, glowing liquid. In the other, a deep crimson vial, bubbling slightly. "See boy, in each hand I hold the antidote to save one of your friends. Who shall it be?"
