Doku shoved Unia away to help her go faster and got between her and the dog thing. He growled and snarled viciously. He bared and snapped his teeth hoping that he would be enough of a distraction for Unia to get away safely.

Unia was not leaving her mate, no way. No! She wasn't one to snarl though, instead putting on her "mean" face, which looked silly on the innocent fox. "I'll help you." She said, tail flipping back and forth. She was from a family of runners, she was pretty fast! Right? Right!
The dog lunged at the two. Unia bolted under the dog, wrapping her tail around the dog's back leg and tugging with all her strength. She was sent off her feet and tumbling, but the dog landed beside Doku instead of on him.

Doku growled in frustration not wanting Unia to get hurt. But had to admit his cute little mate was quick on her feet as she pretty much tripped the dog. Once the dog hit the ground Doku was on him biting and clawing away at its throat.

The dog growled, tossing his jaws around and latching onto Doku, attempting to throw the male. Unia slipped in, slamming a paw into the dogs ear, startling and causing the dog to release Doku. It struggled away from Doku, growling at the vixen that had caused him to release his chew toy. Unia squeaked as the dog sauntered after her, causing the female to be trapped between the dog and the gravestone. But, she had helped Doku, and even though the small vixen knew she probably would be ripped to shreds as long as Doku was safe it was okay, in a way.
She shut her eyes, ears flipping against her head and a frightened, weak whimper escaping her throat.

Doku jumped on the dogs back slamming it into the ground before it could touch Unia. He snarled at it because he was pissed that it would even think about going after her. He sunk his teeth into the back of its neck and held on.

The dog yelped as he was suddenly wrenched away from Unia. The grey and black vixen shrank back into the gravestone as the dog was thrown to the ground, eyes wild with fear and shock that her mate had rescued her.
The dog flailed, finally throwing the smaller fox off of him and snarling at Doku, his neck torn up. The dog suddenly let out a low whimper, jerking away from Doku and moving a few steps backward.
Suddenly, it bolted, away from the two foxes, the one violent one and the one sneaky one, he was done. The dog fled from them, leaving the two unless Doku followed, but Unia was not going to.

Doku stood there for a moment panting. He was slowly coming down from the adrenaline rush he got. Thank you fight or flight instinct~ he thought before slowly turning back toward his mate. His mouth stained red with blood from the dog. "Are you ok?"

Unia nodded, spotting the blood on Doku and flicking her ears. No, she was a Shaman, she had to do her job! Her necklace made a clinking noise as she leapt on top of the gravestone, flicking her tail as she scanned the area. There was hardly any herbs around.
"Are you hurt?" She questioned. Ah! She found something, leaping down and padding off to collect a yellow herb and returning to Doku. "This will help clean the blood off."

"I'm fine dear," He stated moving closer to her. "A little sore but its nothing. ]Are you ok?"Doku scanned her body with his eyes making sure nothing was wrong with her. If there was he was going to hunt down that dog and kill it. "Whats the herb for?"

She ignored the question yet again, merely smiling at her mate. If he found out she sore he'd probably freak out. Anyway, she cared more for is safety than her own. She glanced at the herb, looking upwards with a faint smile.
"A dogs skin is tough, I'm sure biting and pulling at it caused your jaw to be sore. Eat this and it won't anymore."

Doku glared at the herb. "Is it going to taste like a bitter herb? And why are you dodging my question?" He asked yet again, while advancing on her.
What was she not saying he didn't but he wasnt liking it.

She nodded at the mention of it tasting bitter, laughing lightly. Most herbs did! However her eyes widened as he advanced closer, backing away in response. What was wrong? Was he mad at her? He looked mad. Her eyes looked scared as she backed away more, ears moving against her head. "W-What?" Why was he mad at her? She hadn't done anything wrong!
'Stop hurting me!'
That memory wrenched into Unia's mind, ripping out her happiness and replacing it with pain and fear. The memory of a blue/gray kit crying in the corner, curled into herself and shaking. So alone.. so afraid. And beside her was a grey and purple kit, body marked with scars and rasping painful breaths.
"P-Please don't be angry!" She cried out, completely lost in her memories of a past where she could do nothing but beg her parents not to hurt her siblings. Beg and scream and cry for them to stop hurting them, to stop making them hurt so bad. Why didn't they hurt her? Why was she special? Why did they hurt them instead? She backed away more, shaking her head at Doku and looking as if she was ready to bolt.

Doku grimaced at the idea of eating the herb. He was not fond of them at all. They were suppose to help but it tasted horrible.
Doku watched as Unia's eyes glazed over. It freaked him out cause he than thought something was really wrong. But what~ he just couldn't figure it out. She had whimper some and than what she said stopped him in his tracks.
Angry? She thought he was angry? He wasn't happy no but she wouldnt answer the question if she was alright or not but he wasnt angry. "Why do you think I'm angry?" he asked in a cautious voice. She was ready to bolt he could see, like a scared rabbit.
He sighed and began to back off and away. His fault. Whatever was wrong was his fault. He started convincing himself. See look at me how stupid. Knew I would only scare and hurt others. Shouldnt have been with her. I just hurt her like everyone else~ he thought in anger at himself before starting to turn and leave.

What Doku didn't understand was the fear inside Unia. She knew that one day she would suddenly snap. It was the hiding of how she felt, a habit she had ever since she was a child. Never show you were hurting, never show you were unhappy. Only pretend you were fine. And now, now she had so much to think about. So much stress, so much to deal with.
Would she be a good Shaman? Would she be good for her tribe even though she failed to protect the ones she loved when she was little? Was Doku safe with her? Would she make him happy? Would he ever want her as his lifemate? These fears had slowly ebbed away at her, and then it was the fear Doku was angry at her. That had added to the weight of stress she had until the rope holding them up had snapped.
The grey vixen watched her mate turn and leave her, her heart wrenching. He was...leaving. He had turned his back on her. It was her fault, and yet her glazed over eyes didn't switch. She faintly recognized that Doku was leaving, but what she saw more was the images of her siblings childhood. She curled into the tiniest ball she could manage, withdrawing into herself. She would snap out of it soon, and after she would run straight for home.

Doku walked a few feet away and than laid down facing Unia. She wasn't ok he could see that. But he didn't know what was wrong or how to fix it. He was suppose to make his mate happy, keep her safe, and yet here she was in pain of some form and he couldnt take it away. He didn't know what to do. But he had decided to back off and give her space. He could still see her eyes were glazed which meant she would be unprotected. He had failed her once but he wasnt about to again. He would stay some distance away so she could calm down and relax and not have him crowding her. But he wouldnt be far enough away where if something were to attack again that it would get to her before he could. He figured after she was better she would leave him seeing as he was an unfit mate.
