Mau blinked in surprise, looking at the spray of beverage before wiping some of the drops off his face. He couldn't help but laugh a little as he slowly stood up. The movement made the grass pokemon look up and growl at Mau.

She wasn't happy. The shiny thing with the tasty liquid had died. The bulbasaur growled again at Mau as he reached for his belt. He stopped then and instead looked at the cans of lemonade still in the basket. "Hmmmm..." He knelt down slowly. The pokemon watched him, but stopped growling when a second shiny can was produced.

"Saur saur!"

"Hey Nyx, want another lemonade shower?"

Mau laughed, and opened the can. "Did you want this?" He offered it to the grass pokemon. She eyed the can then both humans, then the bayleef. "Bulba?"

"It's alright. Go ahead and take it." That seemed all the coaxing the pokemon needed to come closer and look at Mau, mouth open, wanting him to pour the juice into her mouth. He obliged, smiling happily. "You're just a baby, aren't you?" Yes, he was talking to the pokemon.

Mau couldn't help himself as he pet the bulbasaur. She didn't seem to mind. She had lemonade! "Such a cute pokemon." He couldn't help it, he did adore grass types. And since his transfer, he hadn't had any grass pokemon. He wouldn't admit it, but he was kind of jealous of Nyx's bayleef.

Making no sudden movements, Mau reached for a pokeball. He wasn't sure anyone was weak enough to battle it without killing the pokemon, so instead, he decided to do a little experiment. Taking an empty pokeball, he dropped it on the bulbasaur.

The small grass pokemon vanished in the red light and the ball landed on the ground.

One shake.

Two shakes.

Three shakes.

The ball stopped moving. Mau picked it up and turned back to Nyx, sitting down again. "Are you feeling better now that you're out of your room?"

"The last thing we need are more crazy people on base, right?" He half chuckled before finally setting to cleaning himself from the earlier exploded lemonade. When he was sufficiently dried, he smoothed the blanket's corner again. "You really shouldn't let yourself get into such a rut again." He said with a hint of concern. "It's not good for you."

"You can always take on new projects. Draft ideas and present them to Nadja for approval. Or... take up a hobby. If you want, I could give you berries to start growing. if nothing else, it's something to do." He was trying to be helpful. He decided not to mention he had no idea what those shows were. He tended to not watch a lot of television, unless there was something relevant to his research on.

He hesitated a moment before speaking again "Could always go off base too. If you need company, I'll join you when I'm not on shift."

Mau smiled some. "Well, if you know what berries Newton doesn't like to eat, I can give you one of those. Unless growing one Newton does like would work, if you could get him to either understand that if he doesn't eat them all at once, right now, there will be more and more later, or if you can convince him to help you." He thought a moment about when Nuu tried helping him with his plant, and somehow she managed to explode a heat lamp and burnt herself.

Yeah... that was a productive evening. At least now she refuses to go near the berries.

"Hm." He scratched his chin. "I might need to go out and buy you a pot though. I don't think I have any extras... and growing them in glass beakers really doesn't work too well. Maybe a shopping trip on my next day off." he wasn't talking to himself per say, but he was talking more for his own mental calendar then for Nyx.

The question snapped Mau out of his planning state of mind. He looked at her and gave her a smile. "No, not really. I spend a lot of time in the gym practicing..." He paused there a moment. "Well, I DID spend a lot of time practicing Kuta. Um, that's a form of fist fighting. It's like boxing." He explained. He decided not to add that he also practiced a form of stick fighting that was similar to Japanese kendo. "I've also been drafting a new research project." Details, of course, would not be discussed outside of headquarters. "And I do a surprising amount of cooking." He shrugged "And when we've both recovered, I'll be learning to swim."

Berries were, in fact, a rather small portion of what he did. He just liked plants. "Berry growing isn't that time consuming. But the research, and potion making is."
