Jasper paused for a moment, "Well, what if I don't care if Lust comes out? Its way too boring in Aramil without you here." But when Athena finally said 'the man she loved', his expression turned cold. "...Let's get through this place already." He said while speeding up, he mistakingly got his leg caught in the mud and immediately pulled it out.

As he looked up, it seemed even darker than before. "I'm getting tired of this." Jasper sent the orb of light at the water and once it was far enough away from him, it exploded and let out a bright light.

She scowled slightly when Jasper's tone turned cold. Why was it always like that with men? She just sighed and shook her head. She kept up with Jasper but grabbed ahold of him by the back of his collar and pulled him back. "Watch out!" She shouted. The woman was on high alert. Something was there but where could it possibly be? She knew it was there somewhere but she wasn't quite sure where.

"Something's out there Jasper! I think it's the thing we were sent to kill! All I can tell is that it's somewhere up in the canopy!" She pointed upward and began looking around franticly. It was here, but where?! She couldn't pinpoint it's location! This caused the woman to feel as if there were something breathing down the back of her neck. That uneasy feeling wouldn't leave her gut.

"It's watching us...It's waiting for the perfect time to strike so there won't be much of a fight..." Little did she know that she was clinging to him. It wasn't like she meant to, it was just a subconcious reaction. Since Cherry had always been saved by a strong male, this kind of action was nearly completely embedded into her mind.

"Then let it strike, it will die soon anyway." He said with a awfully cold tone, finally he pulled away from her grip. "Come out, come out, wherever you are Coward!" He knew that every beast was taunted in some way, so he decided to use the most common way of taunting.

"Jasper stop it! You're gonna get hurt if you approach it like that! Let's think about this logically! You can't just go in and start swinging your fists! We don't know that much about the beast! It probably has powers that we can't even imagine so let's stay close together!" She watched as he walked away to go taunt the creature. She frowned at his actions and tried again to locate the beast before it could jump Jasper and take him out. But no matter how hard she concentrated she couldn't seem to locate it. This was really starting to bother her. If she couldn't locate it then it could be anywhere.

"Jasper lets go find a clearing! Somewhere that doesn't have a canopy over it!" She shouted out after him, hoping he would agree to the idea.

Jasper continued walking, "I won't hide from a coward that won't show its face. If it has 'powers' then maybe it will come out and kill me already. Thats how people like me: Dead." But to be sure, Jasper took the bar that contained his armor and put it in the water, when he tried to pull it out, it seemed a if a sticky substance was making it hard to do so.

"What the hell are you talking about Jasper? Nobody wants you dead! Now stop this and let's find somewhere else to do battle with it! Surely it'll be following us." Cherry ran over to Jasper and looked at him as he tried to pull his item up. Something had a tight hold on it. "What is that?..." She looked down at the substance and moved a step back.

"Jasper we need to keep our eyes peeled. I want to leave this Adept test with BOTH of us alive! The only way we are going to do that is if we are smart about this. So come on!" She grabbed onto his wrist and tried to pull him with her. Right now she was worried about something happening to her partner with the way he was acting. If he followed her then perhaps they would have time to talk before the beast followed suit.

"All right! I'll follow." Jasper hated being manhandled, it was the worse thing any one could possibly do. When they reached a spot away from the water, Jasper leaned against a tree and said nothing.

Cherry walked into the clearing and watched as Jasper angrily leaned against a tree. She looked up and around. There were trees surrounding them but no canopy directly above them. The female sighed and waited for the beast to follow, or show itself, whichever it wanted to do. But in the meantime she had to get Jasper out of this mood.

"What's gotten into you? It's like you just flipped a lid in two seconds flat. What's the matter?" Cherry moved closer to him with a look of pity in her eyes. "If there is something wrong then you should talk to me about it. Being upset won't do you any good."

Jasper began to use his nail to peel the bark of the tree behind him. "Nothing is wrong with me, other than the fact that my wife is dead, I've pretty much committed most of the sins, and my life has gone to hell ever since I went to Nocturne." Jasper knew that whatever happened, he would not tell her anything. Like she said, once she's done, she'll leave back to Nocturne so what was the point?

"I'm sorry for reminding you of that...I didn't think she would stoop that low to try and get you into her pants.." Cherry shook her head as she remembered Lust taking over and using the image of Hiro's dead wife. It was a low blow to him. "But you haven't commited almost all the sins. I mean, you're a Paladin. You wouldn't be where you are now if you didn't fight against those urges. And that's something to be proud of." She was trying to lighten up the mood.

"I mean, there are plenty of people who commit sins every day. The only ones that really rise above are those who repent for those sins and don't do them again. And while I think your incubus side might have a fit, you've been doing a really good job of surpressing that. Aside from that, why are you so worried about Nocturne anyway? I think the only people Fenrir is going to be after is Xiomar and Shruikan, and even then he might just not even bother. Who can really say with him? All of that is just speculation at the moment and I'd much rather prefere to atleast think that we could all get along."

"Just because I have not committed Greed and Gluttony, does not mean I won't. I may become a greedy fat guy in two years!" Jasper knew if he kept this up a little while longer then maybe she would let this topic go. He knew that just one sentence would make her go away, but he did not know what effect it would have. "Just go back to that dog kennel and leave me be..."

That comment certinly stung. She felt her feelings being hurt again but she wasn't going to stand by and let this guy just wallow in his own depression. "I'm not going to leave! Come on Jasper, stop feeling so sorry for yourself! Nobody is going to let you stoop that low! I'm not going to let you stoop that low! So stop this nonsense and return to your normal lovable self Jasper. This kind of personality really doesn't fit you."

If Cherry truly loved Fenrir, then she would most likely leave if he just said it already. "You want to know why I'm acting like this? It's because I love you!" He knew it would take her by surprise and it would hopefully make things awkward. At least they wouldn't need to talk.

Well that certinly did stop her, for about five minutes. Then she just crossed her arms and tossed her head up, unsure of how to really deal with that. "T-That's preposterous! You just saying that to try and get me to stop prying! It's not going to work! Listen Jasper we need to be clear headed. We can't sit here and argue and bicker and we have to rely on eachother when the beast comes to fight us! Otherwise we are both going to be sitting ducks. So I need you to be at the top of your game! So please Jasper just snap out of this!"

"If you won't believe me, then I suggest we stop with the talking and wait for this demon." Jasper turned around and used his nail to dig into the tree, Jasper began to climb the tree and onto the top of the tree.
