"What do you mean the flipping gnomes are on strike? That's the THIRD time this week!"
The ruckus from the school office scared a couple of first year banshees that happened to pass by the secretary's path of destruction, which currently involved a half-knit scarf, a large pile of book and papers, and what seemed suspiciously like a whole bunch of hand-done fanletters from half the female base of students and teachers covered in all sorts of bats and skulls, saying barely legible words such as "Dear Breck", "Dear Gorgeous Groundskeeper" and "Oh Brecky-Poo-Darling".
Arel was out the entrance of the school door, down the steps to Breck's shed in what seemed like record speed, stomping all sorts of profanities on the way. He hated walking, he hated working, he hated students. And did he ever hate Hellma.
He was so busy hating his life he entirely dismissed the rather distressed students who had ran screaming past him as just another school day.

Having curiosity as a personality trait made for a never boring life. But it also presented one with a constant nagging, a constant need to go and do and explore and be generally nosy. This, of course, meant that when Belladonna spotted the shed she had to make a beeline for it. Why, it was a part of campus she hadn't explored yet and since she hadn't explored very much at all, it seemed like a lovely place to start! The signs posted all over didn't much bother her (her sisters had posted signs on their doors and of course she'd ignored those too and it always resulted in new shoes and sweaters and jewelry!), so with a head held high she sauntered along the grass.
"That shed could use some pumpkin lights..." She mused out loud, thinking maybe she should come back later and hang them along the edge of the roof. Vaguely she wondered if the groundskeeper would like that?

It was clearly evident that Calder was not a master trespasser the moment he crept into the shed and, upon having to adjust to the lack of light, stumbled, stubbed his foot on a warped floorboard, and fell into a pile of heavy, dusty, burlap bags. While he at least had a cushioned fall (he could have very well stumbled and fallen onto a set-aside ax or perfectly angled shovel blade), he soon found that he wasn't so lucky.
It was the heavy smell of dust, of weedy seeds, that made him first think of food, of grazing, but then of being well aged, and then suddenly sent him rubbing his shoulders, itching his arms, and then batting at his face. His first thought was that he hadn't fallen on a bunch of feed bags, but a dead beast forgot in the shed (picking such a poor place to die) and that it's body had been infested with fleas. FLEAS!
He batted and kicked, forcing himself to the door and falling ONCE AGAIN on the same floorboard. It was hard to see with all the damn nipping and chewing, that he crawled out, flinging the door open and stumbling out of the front door. It was a good thing he knew where the closest river was, because he ran straight for it, intending to dive in and get rid of this mess.

Audley knew she'd had a good reason for seeking out Breck, but as she was skulking across the grass to his shed, she couldn't seem to recall what that reason was. Hugo shook nervously as he clung to her jacket lapel and she reached up to reassure him as she gazed impassively at Breck's . . . well, she supposed you could call it a home. She had only respect for the Academy's gamekeeper.
With a sigh of determination and a feeling of foreboding, Audley squared her shoulders and approached the shed.

A large shadow flitted through the groundskeepers charming territory, intent on getting through the shed. Initially, it passed by the tree and its occupant, little interested in the usual carnage and misfortune. Brek's little antics were charming, as usual, of course, but using her shadow at this distance gave her something of a migraine.
It was on the return trip that the shadow paused at the tree and it's occupant, having heard something interesting from the sheers it now held. Well, a few interesting things, but Red would likely find little joy in her "trophy."
"Little zombie..." the shadow hissed, as the tree obligingly began to disgorge the boy. "I have special place just for you." The Princess Corner had been gathering dust recently, and it's emptiness was something the professor felt in her heart. If she had one. Always doubtful.
Sheers in one hand, Valentino in the other, the shadow looked downright cheerful as it glided back to the administration office.

Down the path he went, past the stupid bloody tree that never grew any leaves, past the stupid bloody horrifically ugly crab-grass, pas the stupid skull-shaped bloss-
- wait a second. Didn't Breck promise to get rid of those last year, after Cricket had complained about the influx of casualties coming from some not so unknown source. They sure didn't LOOK any different from the ones last year.
Slowly, very suspiciously, the secretary leaned over towards one of them, examining them with scrutinizing agony.
The skull-shaped blossom was more than happy to examine his scarf in return. Or the the very tip of his scarf, chewing happily on the fabric with a thoughtful expression. Arel swore- everything went flying in the air, love letters and all, and thus began the epic ice demon versus killer flower fight that he suffered through every year. A pair of third years walking back with their "goodies" passed him and snickered.

Audley knocked on the door and slowly entered, calling out Breck's name as she entered, finally remembering the question she'd had that had brought her outside. Her question was interrupted as she blundered clumsily into a bag of seed by the door. Her horror increased as the seeds began to swarm over her, chewing on her jacket.
"What the . . .? Seriously, Breck?!"
Gritting her teeth, she shook the nasty things off of her and fled backwards, cursing Breck and his apparent paranoia that had led him to booby trap his home.
Stalking across the ground, Hugo flying around her head and chittering his own annoyance, Audley swore that the next time she had a question for Breck, she would call him to her office and have him deal with the surprises she had there.

@ Ariel: from the deepest shadows of the shed Breck emerged for a moment trailing mist and the smell of old dark places. He watched, impassive for a moment at the 'deadly war' between the the librarian and the plant before bending down to pluck up the scattered letters. He arched a shaggy eyebrow at them and tucked them into the folds of his coat before returning, wordlessly to the back of the shed.

Getting into the back area was easy, though there were some rather scary looking... things... Was that crab grass actually moving? Yuck. Belladonna liked plants, but those things looked downright evil. She was pretty sure they were plotting her demise... Or the demise of the groundskeeper. Or SOMEONE'S demise. In any event, she reached for the door and heard it. The sound a young girl in a pretty dress and fancy heels never, ever, in a million years wants to hear emitting from the darkness behind her. It was a growl.
.......From many things.
Maybe it was just best to walk away. Not even look back. Just go back the way she'd come, don't look back, don't look back, don't look back, DON'T LOOK BACK--
OH HECATE IT WAS EYES. Glowing, eerie eyes that weren't cute or precious and adorable or or or!!
Belladonna was gone faster than she had ever thought she could run. If only Chuppi could have seen her, she would have demanded Belladonna join the track team.

Okay, so Thackery was admittedly surprised that the key opened the door. Or maybe the door hadn't been really locked at all? Either way, he'd managed to make it in safely - and was now attempting to make it out in one piece.
Holding his breath, lilac eyes wide with concentration, he snuck out of the open doorway. It was dangerous in these parts; that's what made the stories about sneaking in so good!
He gently nudged the door closed behind him, careful not to trap his tail. Anyone who saw him sneaking back to his dorm might have questioned why his tiny little midriff shirt appeared to be not only glowing? but a little more...bulky than usual. And maybe it was just the light, but well...he looked a little pale and clammy.

Face set, Emily marched right up to the groundskeeper's shed. That is, if define "march" as a very strange shuffle. The witches stride was confidant and determined at first, until she saw the first sign. Should she be doing this? Maybe it wasn't allowed?
Then she saw the next sign. This was definitely not allowed! Emily's pace stuttered to halt, she took a few steps back. She shouldn't be here! She had already had detention once! She took another step back, she could just take Mr. Monty to Nurse Cricket.
Nurse Cricket probably had the special cat medicine Mr. Monty had asked for. Had weakly asked for with watery pleading eyes, voice breaking off in a heart-wrenching cough...
No! She couldn't let him stay like that! The witch started walking forward again. She'd get him this "special catnip" that Mr. Brek was supposed to have! And she'd use it to cure Mr. Monty of his very sudden and mysterious illness!
By now the little witch was running toward the shed with all her might, "FOR MR. MONTYYYYYYY!"

She would be lying to herself if she even dared think about how she SO did not know the whereabouts of the mysterious booby trapped 'shed'. Its not that she was familiar with its location or VERY familiar with the man whom set all those traps... not at all.
She just enjoyed walking that direction.... right?
Never really in denial, the Phoenix professor decided she needed 'hunt' the 'wild' tonight. Normally she would threaten stepping on his beloved petunias... but she would show mercy today and put effort into following him. He had said to look for him at the shed... straight from the horses mouth so why not? Her feet seemed to know the direction by heart, so she let them do the work.
She just hoped that the traps were not set today, if they were Breck would have a very agitated Byrn on his hands.

endejester 1-20 - You make it though the door of the shed only to find the bag of crab grass seed, your efforts to intrude further are thwarted by a swarm of pinching and hungry seeds determined to turn you into mulch. With a determined smile, she opened the door with nothing stopping her... until she saw the tiny little crabs crawling up her boots.
Oh that little horse faced little..... yeah come to my shed ANYTIME her foot and left knee. Speaking of said foot, she felt her anger building as she stomped her foot on the ground... crushing one of the crabs below her heel. Stupid......crab grass. Anger burning, she stomped her heel once more... flames successfully 'pop corning' any of the crabs that dared touch her.
Ok so it smelt more like BURNT popcorn but hey....
Breck SO was being denied certain privilages for this.

Raziel had heard rumors about the shed near the school. He had heard whispered tales of horrors that had taken other students and about the horrible things that happened if you went back there. But of course, being the pompous fool he was, Raziel had to see things for himself. So on the afternoon of a particularly dreary day, Raziel headed towards the shed to see what lay beyond... endejester 71-89 - Somehow you've made it nearly to the door at the back of the first area of the shed. You couldn't even see it from the front of the shed...you can hear a faint growling just behind you though, from the darkness you see a mist creeping across the floor and 3 pair of bright green eyes light up the darkness like will-o-wisps. Breck's hounds are back - you make a hasty exit before you're caught with the hounds hot on your heels.

Ok so maybe this wasn't the best idea for a new student but Lilura was far too curious for her own good. Maybe she'd see some interesting object in there or something she could enchant for a funny joke on the groundskeeper. She was in the mind for a trick. But she just hoped she wouldn't be the one tricked. She could see the door from the tree she was hiding behind, the same tree she had been hiding behind for about an hour. Yeah she was a little nervous but she had to do this! Otherwise she'd never get a reputation around here! Slowly she got up her nerve and began sneaking over to the shed.
"I highly disapprove of this you know," Tartalo growled in his spanish accent.
"Oh hush. You can be such a fuddy-duddy sometimes," she grinned at her scythe as she approached the door. Yeah not very hidden with a huge scythe with her but she never said she was all that smart when it came to being sneaky.
