'Little Princess =P'
RP with Ianna Umbridge and Kay (Kyrianna) and Patrick and Yashima (nozomi_ga_kanau) As always, Kierla attracted several boggling glances from the passerbyers she was passing by - although most of the strange looks were now directed at something else: a bizarre floating lump of pinkish mist, carrying a wand...
But she paid the curious looks no heed, making a beeline for a place where she hoped people who understood her predicament would be: GotP HQ. Poor Kierla! Patrick had JUST arrived, two seconds before her, to try and show off his newly grown spawn to Ianna and Coailiann. They had yet to show their pretty faces, however.
The dark man was sitting in the backroom, on a couch, with the toddler on his lap. Yashima was holding his wand firmly in that one hand, the other hand tugging gently at patricks labret piercing. "Tousan," He burbled hapily, little pierced ears arched foreward. "Tousan~"Ahhh. There was someone here, thank the gods. A man, and a child. And a wand.
Eh! Could children be wand guardians? Kierla wondered, not connecting A to B. Or perhaps it was the man who was the guardian, and he was simply letting the child play with it. Kierla herself wouldn't have entrusted such a precious object to anyone, but each to his own...
Shuffling her feet and giving a tiny wave, she put on her best smile (mrff, this was hard stuff!) and called, "Hello there!" The words sounded cheesy coming from her mouth. Patrick glanced up and he let himself smile up at the girl. Both he and Yashima had a shared disinterest in women but patrick was better at being nice to the females then his son. At that moment, yashima whimpered and shook his wand at the girl.
So far, the only word he knew (or would say outloud) was 'tousan' and he had NO CLUE what that meant. Patrick just stroked at the white and gold hair, grinning at the littler girl still. "Hello there! Wand owner?""Yes." Kierla nodded curtly, then attempted an indulgent smile at the kid; her sister had often berated her for making children cry by frowning too much. Weird creatures, those midgets are.
The smile actually came out more like a grimace. No wonder she made little kids cry, especially with those scary eyes.
"So. Ah - are you one too?" Kierla asked, gesturing toward the wand the fox-kid held. "When did you get it?" "Sure am," He agreed, bouncing the little demon on his knee. It didn't quiet Yashimas whimpering, the small boy clutching his wand to his chest almost protectively. "Sorry about him... he's not a fan of girls."
A sheepish smile and a soothing kiss pressed to Yashimas hair. "Mmm.. I got Yashi back in January? Sometime like that. I'm glad he's a kid now, though, not just a wand.""Coailiann..." Came Ianna's 'patient' voice. It was the voice she used to sound as if she was being patient rather than about ready to throw an apple at her toddler.
Coailiann was sitting, quite stubbornly, in the middle of the hallway. Her arms were crossed over her chest, her green eyes hard, "NO! NO NO NO!"
The silver haired woman brushed her hand through her hair, clutching at the strands, "Kay, honey, I know you're --" she was cut off by one of the large paintings being thrown from the wall, "******** HELL!"
Coailiann giggled."It is fine," Kierla assured him. Children really are strange.
The next second, her eyes widened slightly, and she pointed an almost accusing finger at the whimpering Yashi. "You mean he came from a - "
But her voice was interrupted by Ianna's, and instead of continuing her sentence, she glared at the ghost beside her. As of now, it was just floating normally - although for some reason, it exuded an air of laughing at its caretaker. Breaking away from Kierla's side, the ghost drifted toward the sounds of things crashing and being thrown."KAY!" Yashimas voice was a squeak from his usually silent throat. His body wriggled and writhed on his fathers lap until Patrick, begrudgingly, put him on the ground. Wobbiliy, the little fox used his wand to push himself upright with a squeak.
He wouldn't stay like that for long.
"Yeah - He's from a wand. He's a fox spirit. Hey! Ianna!"Alert green eyes instantly locked onto the fox kit and she squeeled, pushing herself up on all fours before she managed to crawl to him, a grin on her cute, cherubic face, "SHII!!!" she giggled...then stopped. He was...Bigger than her now?
Her little face fell and she pushed backwards a little bit, staying where she was. She wasn't very happy, and that showed. Normally she would have clung to him.
Ianna chased after her and offered a smile towards Patrick, who had become her best friend - surprisingly enough, "Hey there, hon? How's you, the brood, and the little one not yet arrived?" her silver eyes sparkled, though she showed signs of wear-and-tear.
Things were obviously hectic at the headquarters.
It was then that she noticed Kierla, "Hello there," she said with a small nod of her head. It was rude to forget company!"A fox spirit. That's...interesting." So! So far, she knew of a phoenix wand, a dryad wand, succubus, Drow...now a fox. And her own was a pegasus. There certainly was a wide variety of souls.
Kierla felt rather self concious, as she watched the others greet each other enthusiastically. It was obvious everyone here knew each other, except for her; no doubt she was rather in the way. So she gave a rather surprised jerk of the neck when addressed. "...hi," she said, nodding back. In a tiny attempt to make conversation, she next nodded at Kay: "And who are you?"
The ghost seemed veeerrry curious about these new people, hovering around them as if trying to find every possible way to annoy them. "I'd say so." His voice was quiet and amused, eyes slanting down to watch the two toddlers on the floor. "How've you been, Ianna? Rough times here with Princess?"
The dark man swooped down long enough to blow a kiss to the little girl, lips quirking into a smile. "You're not being very good, are you, darling?"
Yashima was as close as he could be to beaming...when Kay stopped. His lower lip poked out into a pout, grip tightening on his wand. No Kay? His mental voice was sad as his knees wobbled once, twice...and ker-plunk! Onto his a**!"Three more wands, Coailiann still being unable to walk and getting mighty frustrated about it...Malen's little girl Del, plus Kishi and a never ending parade of Sailor Moon. It's starting to wear a little on me..."
You got bigger than me! her voice accused inside the fox-kit's head. It didn't sound happy, either.
Coailiann crossed her arms at him and looked completely sullen. She already couldn't walk and others could, and now she was SMALLER than her best friend? It really was NOT fair.
Ianna looked to Kierla, "That's Coailiann, my daughter.""I thought Matilda was your daughter?" If this was a cartoon, Kierla would have rotating squirlygigs for eyes. Her common senses simply weren't working today.
Another dreadful thought came to her mind. "Did she..come from a wand too?"
Kierla vaguely heard the man's words, tripping her mind up even more. "Wait. She's a princess...?"
Yeah. Her mind really wasn't working today. "Kay is MY princess," He corrected, standing smoothly. The child didn't look too happy and Patrick did NOT want apples flung at his head by an irate toddler.
"Ianna, you didn't tell her that these wands turned into KIDS? For shame! I thought better of you!" The dark man was smiling, though, taking one flamingly homosexual hop-skip-and a jump towards Ianna to give her a kiss on the cheek.
"Matilda came from a wand too!"
Yashima wilted on his position on teh floor at his friends anger, hugging his wand closer. ....didn' mean to. Coailiann broke her attention on Yashi to smile a bit at Patrick before she sighed and lay down on the floor. May as well be smaller, right? She didn't understand why she couldn't stand or walk or why she was the size she was.
Her lower lip stuck out and she hit the floor, "NOFIR"
Ianna winced and leaned into Patrick a bit, "I told her, I don't think she believed me. Coailiann came from a wand, as did Matilda. Kay is a Sidhe," she smiled slightly then gave an exhasperated look towards the tantrum-ready girl.
"I think she's trying to kill me though.""Of course I believed you," Kierla said stiffly. "But I'm still rather in shock about it..." She added a sheepish laugh at the end, but again it sounded fake and unnatural.
Then her head was back whirling again. "Sidhe...? Bean Sidhe, or just plain Sidhe? What kind of wand did Matilda come from?" GAHTOOMANYQUESTIONS. Kierla knew that someday she would drown in them, and that would be the end of her.
The ghost meanwhile was sulking low to the ground. One with a very good imagination could almost see an absurd pout on where could be a face. Apparently it didn't like to be ignored, for it floated right between of Kay and Yashi, tendrils of smoke wiggling slightly. No fair.. The little fox agreed tiredly, squeaking when that little wisp went up to his face. Those slanted eyes widened quickly, hand moving to pet gently at that wisp. His hand didn't go threw the fluff, like one would expect, but he kept his pettings soft and gentle, to not disrupt the cloud.
Patrick blinked a little, nose wrinkling. "She's not plain, but she isn't a bean sidhe. I don't think there ARE any banshees, right, Ianna?"Ianna shook her head, "No, there aren't. And...She's just a Sidhe, though I don't know what rank..I know nothing about her past life, which rather annoys me. Could be the reason she's such a brat...I wouldn't be surprised if she WAS A princess because of her superiority complex..." she gave a weak laugh.
Coailiann glared at her mother and was tempted to send a flying object at her face, but instead looked at Yashi. Hard. She was MAD, Hate it. she whined, ignoring the pink fluff that now had Yashi's attention."Ah." What else was there to say? Kierla never had been that great at continuing conversations, only creating random threads of topics that soon died out.
The baby ghost was a little more social, however. It gurgled in a strangely purring fashion when petted, snuggling up to the young boy. It was extremely annoyed at the Sidhe, however; why was she ignoring it? The ghost did a little dance in front of Kay's vision.
Kierla frowned a reprimand at the lump of smoke. "I am sorry that it is bothering you," she apologized to Kay.Patrick sighed at Kays continuing petulance, nose wrinkling. "First thing first." He swooped down once more, scooping up the girl-child into his thin, but strong, arms, cradling her close adoringly.
"Listen to me, baby girl. I dunno why you're glowering at my fox-kit, but you know he's a sweetheart." A sloppy kiss was pressed to her cheek, "I don't want to have to get rid of him just becuse my favorite princess didn't like him! Forgive the poor little bugger. Lookit him. He's miserable. Do it for your 'Trick."
So he could sweet talk.
Yashima tickled at the little baby ghost, casting a pitiful look at his tousan and the shiny girl. it was sad.Coailiann seemed to brighten slightly at Patrick and sighed, snuggling into him before sticking her thumb in her mouth. She didn't look at Yashi again - she was still angry. It was a wonder she wasn't angry at Patrick (since he was also taller than her) but maybe she understood they were older.
Yashi was younger than her! THAT was not fair.
Coailiann didn't exactly like the fact she was slower than everyone else.
Of course, she didn't quite understand her powers were more advanced than anyone elses therefore her motorskills had taken a hit."I dunno why she's grouchy...but she IS." He grinned and shrugged, hands moving to stroke at Kays hair, nibbling at the little girls cheek teasingly. "Tell us why you're mad at Yashi, baby?"
Yashi whined at the angry gurgle, hand jerking away from that baby ghost, little pale cheeks flushing with frustration. He couldn't do ANYTHING right today, could he??Coailiann looked at Patrick with the most adoring look EVER, "Big," she muttered, green eyes closing then as she snuggled into the older man, "More big," a deep sigh followed, one eye opening to gaze at her best friend.
Definitely. Not. Fair.Kierla's heart practically melted at the cutest look on Coailiann's face. Heh. Who knew she'd be such a sucker for puppy-faces.
"Aw, sweetie, don't worry, you'll grow big soon." Kierla never thought she'd ever hear herself say the word 'sweetie', but what could one do against such a sad little face? "I've known people who were small when they were younger but became taller than everyone, later!" Well, that wasn't exactly a lie. It probably could happen, right? And if it made peace between Kay and Yashi, then it didn't hurt.
The ghost, oblivious to Kay's frustration, stared at (or at least faced in the general direction of) Yashi with confusion. Eh?! No more petpets? How sad! It made a gurgling noise again, this time of inquiry."Yashi's bigger?" He blinked quietly, laughing before pressing a soft kiss to Kays cheek before rubbing her back and placing the girl onto the ground. "He still adores you, baby. It's not his fault, you know."
The little fox paused, blinking quietly, moving over slowly to give him a quiet pet. ...not mad? The question as said completely in his mind but...he wasn't sure if it was only Kay he could talk to that way or...The little Sidhe was totally digging the attention, "Small. Lot small. No walk. Sad." she grumbled softly, sniffling and wiping her eyes which seemed to tear up. Kay really was very much a ham, it seemed.
She knew how to milk everything for as much as she possibly could. Besides, she really WAS upset. How could she not be? She was a TODDLER and couldn't even stand on her own yet.Kierla smiled even more gently, a genuine smile, and awkwardly petted Kay. "Don't worry. You'll be able to do everything Yashi can, soon. Besides...as..." She looked at the man, realizing that they hadn't introduced themselves to each other yet. "...as he said, it's not Yashi's fault."
The ghost certainly jumped. It definetely heard something, however - whether it was Yashi's voice and it simply couldn't understand the words, or whether it was some other noise that had startled it, would have to remain to be seen. But it cuddled against Yashi, making yet another variation of gurgles - this time almost like a contented purr. "Isn't she adorable?" He grinned goofily when referring to the little sidhe in question, tugging gently at the others silver hair. "My name is Patrick, girlie, either way. Kay here calls me 'Trick'."
Yashi hesitated at the cuddling... so the thing heard him. Awesome! He shifted slightly to nuzzle his nose against the baby ghosr, careful not to inhale too much.
...what kind of high would that be? A baby ghost junkie maybe..Her green eyes abandoned the two adults and simply looked over to Yashi. So he was already replacing her? She gave a little wiggle in Patrick's arms and whined, reaching out for HER Yashi. No puff of pink smoke was going to take HER Yashi away from her!
EVEN if she was mad at him, she DID adore him! HERS! HERS HERS HERS!
"Shii! SHIII! MINE!""Kierla. Pleased to meet you." Her eyes narrowed slightly at 'girlie' - but she didn't comment. Peace had just arrived, no need to make him go home too soon.
At the Sidhe's cry, the ghost shrank away, taking refuge behind Kierla. It peeked fearfully out. "Oh, you want him now?" Dark eyes rolled, head shaking just slightly with a faint laugh. "Yeah, yeah, Kay..." And so he moved over, placing the little sidhe down near the kitsune and where the baby ghost used to be. "Here."
Yashi just curled back against his wand, hugging it tight with a little whine. She was going to yell some more. No no noooo...No more yelling.Coailiann moved towards the Kitsune child and hugged him, "Still mad," she muttered, "But love." she nodded her head almost sagely then and nuzzled into his neck, "Still mad." she repeated, though she pat at his head lightly.
After all, he was still hers, right? Right.Kierla smiled fondly again down at the two, then sighed. "Well, I suppose I should be going..." She reached down and petted the still quaking ghost on the misty head.
The ghost was sulking again. What a selfish little girl, that girl with green eyes was, to steal the nice petting creature from it! But it was too scared to come out. "You have a spoilt daughter, Ianna." His eyes rolled, standing and glancing at Keirla, lips quirking into a smile. "It was nice meeting you. When your kiddlet sprouts a solid body, we should get together again. Yashi seemed to like it."
Yashima hugged back slowly, whining at the pets and the nuzzle. No mad.. He pouted, glancing up at the ghost. His small hand flexed in a baby wave even as his tail wound around Kays waistIanna raised a brow at Patrick, "I don't spoil her, you can bet your a** on that one..." she sighed and rubbed her temples, "I don't know what's gotten into her lately. I think she's frustrated that she can't even stand up yet. She doesn't understand why she's so...different. Therefore, she compensates."
Coailiann sighed and leaned against Yashi, No get it. Slow. she murmured in his mind, her thumb going into her mouth to soothe herself. She understood what Patrick was saying.
But she was so young! And she was...Frustrated and didn't understand. She had a RIGHT to act out!...Right?Kierla nodded hesitantly. Seemed her kid was the sociable kind? Or maybe Yashi was simply liked by everyone. "Well...I'll see you all later sometime, I suppose! Bye! Come...ghostie-thing." She really had to get some sort of temporary name for the ghost.
The ghost happily returned the wave, then turned to follow Kierla. In a moment, both the woman and the ghost were out the door and out of sight.//end <3

'Cute...?'
Journal Entry
Today, I met another guardian. His name is Patrick. I guess he seems pretty nice. What intrigued me most about him, however, was his ward; his wand seems to have spouted a baby by now! A genuine flesh and blood baby, not a ghostie thing.
I also met Coailiann. Another baby that came from a wand. This one is Ianna's, though. I didn't know she had another child...
Together, the two babies make quite a sight together: Yashima, a foxie-boy, and Kay the sidhe-girl.
THEY ARE SO CUTE.
I know I don't seem like a person who says 'cute', but how else to describe them? I couldn't help but smile when Kay started crying because Yashi was 'more big'.
My ghost-thing, on the other hand...was a perfect nuisance. It sort of made friends with Yashi - kept insisting pettings from him - but got Kay angry at it.
I wonder if they'll be good friends someday, when my ghost-thing can talk.
I wonder if there is any way to tell the gender, because I still wonder if it's a girl, or a boy, and what it'll be like.
I wonder if it'll like me?
Maybe it'll hate me. Maybe it'll...
Nevermind.

'Easter'
Journal Entry
The Easter party...was weird. At least, between me and Aricia, we got enough Easter eggs from the hunt so that my dratted sister didn't run me over with a bulldozer.
We got a lot of prizes from it - several weird pet-things, and also a charm that has Aricia's name on it. It's like she was meant to find that particular egg...
I'm suprised to be penning these words, but I hope she comes out soon.
But, I mean...it's boring, talking to a ghost. If I have to have a child, might as well be a living breathing thing, right?
I'll be making another visit to the HQ, I think, sometime soon. I've been brooding too much at home recently.

'Things with Wings'
RP with Malen and Kishi (ladyumbra) "Kishi stay away from the roses you'll tear your clothes on the thorns" Malen called out futilely to his daughter. He lay in a hammock in the shade of the trees while watching Kishi roam around the gardens. Ever since she'd grown Kishi been unstoppable, motoring around exploring everything until her legs became to weak to carry her. Now as Malen looked on helplessly she was takign in the great outdoors, minus the fountain which she wasn't allowed near without him, Ianna or Del. Kishi ignored her fathers words as she followed a butterfly that was making it's way around the gardens. It's bright orange and black colours had caught her eyes and though she'd been warned not to touch it, that didn't mean she couldn't follow it. Thus holding her wand with both hands she trailed after it even venturing towards the roses, she didn't really care if her clothes got torn. Kierla blinked as she entered the garden. Oh, there was someone here. Why was it that she never was able to be here alone?
Although...conversation did make things interesting.
Sort of.
Um. "Hello!" She nudged the ghost floating around her with a foot. "Say hello, too, Aricia," she whispered.
The ghost bade as it was told, and waved the 'hand' carrying the wand back and forth at the other two.
Curiosity got better of her, though, and despite Kierla's calls to stay put, she drifted toward the succubus child and the butterfly. Why were they running away?"Upon receiving the greeting Malen sat up and waved back " Hello there, been a while hasn't it." It had been quite some time since Malen had seen Kierla, if he remebered correctly they'd last actually talked during the Stray incident and he recalled having seen her at the Easter party. He knew her ghost was of a pegasus and that was about all he could remember having discussed. At the sound of other voices Kishi let her attention switch first to the speaker who received a beaming grin and then to the pink babyghost." Hi."She said softly admiring the other's wand it had wings just like hers did and she had wings too, to Kishi wings and purple were a sign of good. "Yes, I suppose so." To be quite honest, Kierla couldn't exactly remember his name still (did it start with an 'N' or an 'M'?)...but she'd figure it out soon enough, hopefully. "I see your succubus wand has become a child, now. Congratulations." At least she could remember that much.
This time, in response to the greeting, Aricia waved both of her hands back, then let out a stream of baby gurgles that only Kierla could hear. She pointed the wand at the retreating butterfly, as if to ask what it was." Thanks yeah Kishi's a toddler now, which means she's mostly stopped licking everything she comes into contact with but she's still grabby and now she can get into everything." He laughed softly "Going to have to enroll her in daycare soon so she can socialise with the rest of the gaian population and not just her own kind, " he grinned" I'll have to use Ianna's last name for her though since I can't give mine and calling her Kishi Malen's child would sound strange." He was babbling a bit but he was still too hyped from the recent changes in the both Kay and Kishi's ages to settle down ,except around lithle that woman had a sobering affect on him, but that was another topic. Kishi's eyes followed the path of the wand and she smiled " Butterfly, no touch" she explained " touch and die." She continued sounding sad, why did butterflies have to die if you touched them it wasn't fair. Kierla blinked. "They...lick eveything in contact? ...is this...normal, for babies?" What strange creatures, these tiny things were! "Why can't you give your last name?"
Waa! Really, touch and die? Aricia's face turned in the direction of the orange blur, looking on with obvious wonder. She began to float after it, curious and eager to know why a touch would make them die.
Although she didn't hear the somewhat conversation between the two children, Kierla immediately called out, "Don't touch it, Aricia, you might hurt it." She turned back to the man. "Your daughter is very cute! She'll be a heartthrob when she grows up."Malen nodded " Children tend to put everythign in thier mouths, as babies people use all thier senses equally to explore things including taste." He remebered now that Kierla has admitted to not knowing much about children, still to have gotten this far far with her ghost meant she was on the right track. " I can't give my last name becuase I've made too many enemies in my job to put my family at risk by using my last name anymore." It was a an unfortunate side affect of his work but he'd learned to live with it and considering that he'd still been tracked down without a last name by the D-corp people he knew it was the right choice. Kishi smiled and followed the baby ghost, while her new friend couldn't talk they could still play, she wondered if the other girl would play with her like Zah did when they were done chasing the butterfly. Malen gave a soft sigh at the compliment directed towards his daughter " Your girl is equally cute and I'm sure once she emerges the others will flock to her." He had do doubt that the pegasus girl would have a sort of soft classic beauty like Kay." As for Kishi she can grow to be a hearthrob as long as she learns to control her powers." "Really, now. That must be irksome." It was unclear whether Kierla was referring to the first or the second comment. "What about your first name? Is it a mere alibi?" Hee, she was so smart. Now she could figure out what the man's name was. >D
"Oh yes, she's a succubus reborn, isn't she? No wonder." Kierla turned her eyes again on her ward: "And Aricia, say thank you to him for the compliment!"
The ghost ignored (or did she not hear?) her mother, and continued to chase after the butterfly. This was fun!
...Waaa, where'd the butterfly go? She stopped, unaware that Kishi was behind her." Malen is indeed my real name it's not common but it's not so uncommon that I can be traced through it." he said stretching." don't worry about thankyous for compliments at this stage kids get used to hearing nice things about them all the time. There's a study of some sort that states babies are made to look cute and helpless so we're more inclined to care for them." Personally Malen loved kids to much to care what they looked like or why. Having built up some momentum Kishi was unable to stop suddenly and went face first into the fluffy back of her friend, not wanting to breathe her in she stumbled backward " Sorry." She hoped she hadn't hurt the other girl. Ah. That was his name. "Well, that's good, then, Malen," Kierla said. "Although I must admit, I've never heard anyone other than you with that name. What is its origin, do you know?"
She glanced after the kids, and smiled a little. "Yes, I've heard about that. Revokes maternal and paternal instincts, supposedly. It might also be why animals sometimes agree to nurse a baby of another species," she hazarded, hoping she wasn't sounding like she was babbling.
Eeeee~ squeaked the ghost in Kierla's head, as it felt something hit its back - then tumbled straight into a bush. It soon resurfaced, however, looking slightly confused.
Kierla winced at the sudden squeak, and her hands to cover her ears.Malen shrugged " According to my Mothers they just made it up, I have no clue which category it would fall under but those I have met it with it comes from places with latin based languages so I'm assuming there's a name similar to it in latin." He nodded as kierla spoke glad they seemed to have put their slightly rocky past behind them. She was pretty nice young woman and he was glad to have some company both for himself and Kishi. Kishi simply watched the pink and white babyghost trying to figure out what to do with her next. She didn't want to risk hurting her again but she wanted to play. Malen gave Kierla a pitying look " I know just you you feel," he remembered kishi as a babyghost and the endless streams of babble that came from her that only he could hear. "That's nice. Kiarna made up my name, too, when she found me. Her name is made up too." Kierla even tried a sort of weak laugh, reminding herself that this sociable-attitude-torture was all for the good of Aricia. "Our family is very big on made up names."
"So, the weird noises are...normal, too?" Kierla still had a lot to learn on motherhood, nevermind motherhood of a Ghost of the Past.
After staying still and digesting what happened for a few seconds, Aricia drifted back out of the bush, ready to play again. What game were they going to play next? She circled around Kishi." Made up names are good and original, though Kishi's is native american for night." He had wanted something that showed the other half of her ancestry, this reminded him that he needed to take her shopping for dreamcatcher supplies soon. " Yes as baby ghosts they speak well in baby talk anyways in your head so only you can hear them, it's frustrating at times but it helps you bond with them." Malen missed being connected to Kishi that way, he'd always known how she'd felt and had usually been able to guess what she was telling him. she spokereal words now but it wasn't the same. Glad that her friend seemd ok again Kishi slowly swung her wand at the baby ghost. She was far enough away that even if the other couldnt block only the tip would poke her slightly. Since the other had a smaller wand though it'd be harder to defend but she'd have better control. "That's true...although, I know my sister Kiarna was often teased by kids when she was young, for having that name. So, like everything else, they have their pros and their cons.
"Aricia is Greek, something to do with a princess and Athens. I thought it'd be nice for a pegasus child to have a Greek name. Why did you decide to name Kishi a Native American name?" Why was she talking so much?
Unsure of what to do in the game, Aricia tried to grab the wand from Kishi." Yeah cultural reinforcement is nice" Malen said nodding " Kishi is half succubus and half navajho, since I don't speak any sort of demonic language I figured using a native american one would be best." Kishi stared at the pink one in surprise, that was an odd but effective tactic, Kishi couln't move her wand without risking hurting the other ." Tie, we both win" she said nodding and smiling. Tieing was fun it meant nobody felt bad later. "That's smart. I wonder what a demon's language would sound like," Kierla pondered. "What do you think?"
Eh?! She won? How cool!
Winiwiniwiniwin~
She really liked this game." Well some of them are telepathic and some are hisses and I know of one who's name I've forgtten that is done purely by smell, so not all are ones we can hear .From what my friend Talon tells me though depending on the species your working with most demonic languges to us sound harsh like german or russian." Malen wondered if he should try and find out what language a succubus would naturally speak. Kishi smiled and removed her wand from the others grasp before trying and straight foreward jab while flaring her wings, perhpas she could startle her friend itno not catching her wand this time. "What kind of language do they speak in when using telepathy?" Kierla asked. He seemed to know a lot about the subject. "Do they use pictures or symbols to get the idea across?"
Aricia let out another eek~! at the sudden attack, and ducked quickly, holding her wand in front of her like a shield." I have no clue to be honest it's probably based on emotions or something since they'd be able to sense lies." Since few of Malen's bounties were demonic he didn't really have to learn much about them, he just picked up the odd bit of information from Talon. Kishi smiled, the other had gotten the hang of playing very quickly,Kishi pressed down with her wand tryign to force the pink oneto the ground and surrender. "How interesting. Do you know if there are any books on the subject in the library or in another place accessible to the public?" Kierla inquired. Well, she had researched the Pegasus, might as well look up her friends.
Aricia felt trapped. With some effort, she shifted the wand so it was horizontal and above her, then shoved up in hope of unbalancing the other, or at least get some air." The library probably has atleast a few of them, I'm sure Ianna has it stocked for pretty much everything." Malen figured that since pretty much any species could be a ghost of the past Ianna would hace been smart enough to have books on every species she could find." If there isn't anything there I can always ask Talon if you can borrow some of her stuff, she's got books and relics for everything since she's inthe business of finding and selling rare objects." Kishi was started by the strength of the other and stepped backwards raising her wand, while she could have tried harder she didn't want to lose her friend " You win" she said lowering her wand so it rested at her side. "I'll be sure to check there later, then." Kierla had totally forgotten the HQ had a library. And to think she could have saved herself all that trouble with that grumpy librarian about the pegasus books...
Gleefully, Aricia stepped back. Winiwiniwiniwiiiiiiin~!
But...she did feel sort of bad, that Kishi had lost.
Ah. WHO CARES! It was Kishi's fault that she lost. WINIWINIWINIWINIWIIIIIIN~!
Kierla's hands slowly raised to cover her ears, but of course it didn't really help considering it was all in her head. "I wish I could make her shut up," she said rather bluntly. Her voice was slightly louder than usual - like she was trying to talk over the yelling.Malen gave her a sympathetic look " Well since the chances of kishi not interactign her her are slim and that's probably what she's responding too you're welcome to retreat to the library, we won't follow you and you can get started on your research." Porr woman he thought, hopefully she'll have a baby soon and things will get easier for her. Kishi spotted the long forgotten buttergly and grinned even through the other floated she bet she could reahc the butterfly first " Race" she challanged the other. Kierla bowed: "I'll take you up on your offer, then, thank you. I actually really should be going anyways, I'm supposed to meet my sister for a late lunch. Please excuse us, and thank you for the lovely talk."
She still had her hands over her ears as she called sharply to Aricia, "Come on, let's go now."
Her yelling stopped, but was replaced by a sad whining. Aricia cast an apologetic look at her new friend, and waved good-bye to her before drifting off after her guardian.//end <3

Another Daughter Finding Quynh
Kierla...was lost.
At least, she thought she was. Maybe she just wasn't thinking correctly, was being scatterbrained and distracted as usual, and for truth she was really in a completely familiar place.
No, that cemetery she had never seen before. And she always remembered her cemeteries. They where the places were she felt the closest to the mysteries of Death.
For a second, she hesitated - she really needed to get home! - but gave in to the temptation. "Come, Aricia," she said then glided over with her little ghostie daughter to the new cemetery, studying each tombstone intently.
Suddenly she stopped, directly in front of a grave upon which several weeds had decided to take root.
Rrrrrrrr~? Aricia questioned in Kierla's mind.
"No, nothing," Kierla said. But it was something, however small. "I was just pondering the old superstition...I never told you it?"
It was lucky there were no people around, else they would have thought the woman crazy for talking to herself.
"They say...If a person has lived an evil life, the grave under which they are buried will become covered with weeds. Don't you think that...sad?"
Waaaaaa~!
"Mmhmm, it is, isn't it?" Kierla said distractedly, already beginning to move to the next, cleaner grave.
Uwaaaaa~! the ghost said more insistently, waving the wand it clutched in its wispy hand toward the shadows behind the headstone.
Kierla stopped, and peered closer. Was there something moving there?
The something shifted again. As Kierla's eyes adjusted to the darkness, she realized it was actually -
"Hello," mumbled the little girl, looking up at the startled woman.
Of course, Kierla wasn't about to show her surprise. Instead, she just blinked a few more times than normal before saying in a calm voice that suggested there was nothing strange about finding a little girl behind a tombstone: "Hello."
Awkward pause.
"What are you doing here, little girl?"
"Flowers," was all she said.
Kierla decided not to ask for clarification; the girl didn't seem to want to talk, she wouldn't push her. She started to leave - but something pricked on the little conscience she had left, and turned back. "Won't your mother be worrying about you?"
"Don't have one."
"Oh."
Um
"Okay."
Right.
Then, before she knew what she was doing: "Would you like to come home with me?"
Wait. What the hell was she saying now? Was she out of her mind? Had she spent too many hours talking to herself now? Aricia, on the other hand, seemed fairly gleeful. Or was it anger out of which she was dancing?
There was a pause on the other end too, but finally, the girl answered: "Okay." That was all. No Why? or Who are you?
She stood up, and moved into the weak sunlight.
Only then did Kierla notice the tattered flower clutched in her hand and the thin weeds snaking their way around the girl's legs and binding her to the dark soil. As she watched, they lifted themselves out of the earth to flutter loosely around her feet.
Only then did she remember that she was lost. "Which way is it to the nearest city?" Hopefully she'll be able to find her way from there.
This time, the mysterious girl didn't say anything, she just pointed to the west, and they started off.
Only when the moon had risen high and Kierla's meager house had finally come into view did she think to ask. "What is your name?"
Shrug.
"You don't have one?"
Another shrug, then she pointed to Kierla.
"I am Kierla," she replied, hoping she was understanding the gestures correctly. "And you are..." No time to look anything up. "Quynh," she said, inventing the name on the spot.
The girl, whose name was now Quynh, nodded.
And that was how Kierla suddenly became a mother of two.

'Not Much of a Conversationalist' RP with Tovar (Pukio) As the wind picked up a little, Kierla glanced down at her little ghost-girl. Were the ghosts susceptible to wind, and easy to blow away? Hopefully not. Aricia at least seemed pretty unaffected.
Suddenly she noticed where she was: right next to the Ghosts of the Past shop. She peered through the window, eyes directed at the door leading to the HQ, wondering if there was anyone there right now.Tovar wasn't usually this sociable, but he needed to return the book he'd borrowed from the HQ library a few days ago. With the wand stuck firmly in the back pocket of his jeans (as per usual), the young man tromped along in his ugly brown sweater and loafers toward the now-somewhat-familiar wand shoppe, turning the book, Mythical and Magical Creatures - A Resource, over and over in his hands. A nervous habit that, more likely than not, or perhaps simply something to occupy the man's restless hands with.
What Tovar hadn't been expecting was to bump into anyone else at the doorstep of the shoppe. Which, considering, had probably been an imprudent observation on his part. There were clearly enough wand guardians about for him to have already met three by chance; it wasn't a long stretch that he'd be likely to meet another one on the way into the shop.
Stopping a number of feet away from the woman, Tovar briefly considered turning around and scuttling back home. After all, did anyone really need the book today? Instead, eventually, he cleared his throat slightly, edging closer to the shop door. "Morning -- er, afternoon rather... Hullo there."A voice? Greeting her? Did she know this stranger? How embarrassing if she had forgotten yet again another -
Kierla knew it was rather rude, but the second she turned around, instead of greeting him back with direct eye contact, her eyes fell directly to the wand sticking out from his back pocket.
As if that wasn't rude enough, she didn't even introduce herself after her initial surprise. All that came out of her mouth was: "Oh, you're one too?"
Aricia the Curious meanwhile, had sneaked around behind Tovar to inspect the wand carefully. What was so interesting about it? Hers was so much prettier. =PSmiling slightly, Tovar laughed and nodded. "I guess that's right. Er," he paused, reaching back and pulling the wand -- stick, really -- from his back pocket. "It's -- he, rather. Er.-- is...he hasn't come out yet." From what Tovar understood, that's what happened with the wands. Came out partially like smoke or something and then...all the way? He wasn't entirely sure, seeing as two of the three children he'd seen had already been remotely human, the third a slightly weird foggy version of an infant...What - HEY! Don't take things I'm looking at away from me! Aricia made a shrill sound of indignation in Kierla's head as Tovar pulled the wand from his back pocket.
Kierla, in turn, winced. "Aricia, don't bother him." Or me, for that matter. Oh! "I am sorry, I have not yet introduced myself. My name is Kierla and she - " Aricia waved her arms up and down " - is Aricia.
"So. He is in the wisp stage as of now?" Kierla said, as she opened the door to the shop. "What kind of ghost is he, do you know?" Another creature she was going to have to research up upon.Tovar eyed the little little blur a bit sideways. He was getting progressively more used to the idea of blobs of foggy stuff making noise, but...well. It took a little bit of adjustment, and despite himself he edge a bit farther away from Aricia.
"Oh, no. He's just..." Shrugging, with the book under his arm, Tovar turned the wand over in one hand. "He's just sort of...a stick at the moment." No 'wisping' or any technical term like that, at least...not that Tovar could see. "He's a Kelpie," the chestnut haired man explained, offering a dash of an uneasy smile. "At least, that's what Ianna told me.""Stick, an adequate description..." Kierla couldn't help but say under her breath.
So, a Kelpie. Yup, another one that she didn't know - although she remembered hearing it from somewhere - something to do with water? "If Ianna was the one who told you, then I suppose you should believe it," Kierla said lamely. Geez, was the conversation dead already? She really had to take some sort of class in social skills or something.
Aricia, of course, was paying Kierla's instruction to no heed and wriggled her way upward through the air to follow the wand in Tovar's hand. Curiously, she reached out one hand and tried to yank on the vine enwrapping it.Watching Aricia wafting around the wand, Tovar couldn't help but be a little edgy. Were they allowed to touch one another? Who knows what -- "Aughk. Careful," he muttered, shielding the braided river gras twined about the sti--uh, wand -- with a hand. "You don't want to hurt him..." If that would even hurt him in the first place. Better safe than sorry, right?
Smiling sheepishly, he shot Kierla a sidelong glance. "She's awfully curious, isn't she?"Aricia pouted when Tovar's hand stopped her exploration. At least - she seemed to be pouting - could ghosts pout?
Kierla payed the question nor the ghost no heed, instead giving her full attention to Tovar's question. "Sometimes I think she is so, too much. At the Easter Event she was almost unbearable. I only hope she won't be so much when she finally materializes into a baby.."He couldn't help it. Tovar laughed aloud, casting the roiling fog of a child an amused glance and a geniune, remotely confident, grin. "I don't know, curiosity is good for a child; good learning ethic, or something like that." Chuckling, Tovar carefully unshielded his own wand from Aricia, offering it slightly out to the ghost's curious pokings and proddings."That may be so, but it is quite a nuisance for the parents."
Kierla was about to warn him that it wasn't probably wise when he offered Aricia the wand - but then stopped herself. It wasn't her responsibility to care for more than one wand than her own.
Aricia seemed quite surprised when the wand was presented to her. What, she was actually getting her way this time?
As if not quite ready to believe Tovar's good intentions, she first cautiously stretched her own wand at arm's length to poke the offending Kelpie wand.Oh, Tovar was keeping a close watch on the little ghost, not to mention one hand was still firmly anchored around the base of the wand - so it definitely wasn't going anywhere fast, even if Aricia did decide she wanted to do something unfortunate with it.
"There you go," Tovar cooed absently, sounding more like he was talking to nervous filly rather than an infant. Well, not everyone was great with kids, right? Oh well. "Just be careful; you don't want to hurt him on accident, do you?"
He really did have to wonder what damage a wisp of a girl (almost literally) could do to a soul inside a stick, though.Seeing no response from the immobile twig of a wand, Aricia dared to edge closer, then prodded it with her own wispy hand.
After that, she seemed to deem it safe, inspecting it from all angles and tugging at the vine around the wand.
Suddenly, without warning, she gave a great shree! and whacked at it with all her strength with her own wand.
This was when Kierla intervened, petting Aricia lightly on the head and pushing her behind her again. After all, she couldn't risk any damage to Aricia's wand. "I'm sorry. Aricia recently learned this game of using wands to battle, from Kishi the succubus child," she explained.Alright, apparently there was some threat. Squeaking -- he definitely hadn't been expecting that -- Tovar snapped back the wand and gave it a compulsory examining where Aricia's wand had cracked across the width of the other one. It didn't...look damaged; and Tovar was fairly certain he'd probably be able to tell if the soul inside the wand had been hurt by the thwack...
Shaking his head, he offered Kierla a short, nervous smile that quickly melted off his features. "It's fine, it's fine; serves me right." Insert nervous laughter here.Yes, it most certainly served him right, but it wouldn't be polite to agree. Kierla merely gave a neutral movement of her head that was half a nod and half a shake.
But, she'd better say something - her sister would kill her if she heard of Kierla performing a remotely impolite gesture. "I am...sorry, once again."
Aricia didn't really seem all that sorry; she was merely confused what she did wrong. Peeping out from behind Kierla's legs, she gazed up at Tovar.Tovar shook his head. And then nodded, and then -- alright, so he wasn't entirely sure what to say. The woman seemed a little condescending, or maybe just over protective, but... Carefully, Tovar tucked the wand back into the pocket of his jeans. "Really," he assured her, letting the book slide out from under his arm and back into both his hands. "It's alright. No need to be so, uh, apologetic."What? She was being too apologetic? Geez, so she didn't have to spend that sorry. What a waste, then.
Casting around for a change of subject, Kierla noticed the book in his arms. "Is that from the Headquarters Library?" she questioned.
Oh, the tall guy had another thing in his hands? Aricia floated up to inspect it. Cool, another toy!"Yes it is," he replied, eyeing Aricia sideways as she floated up to inspect the book. "I borrowed it a few days ago for a bit of research; I'm returning it now." Nervously, he turned the volume over in his hands, once, and then forced himself to stop.
"What are you, uh, doing here? Just visiting?" Smooth, Tovar; smooth."No, I was just heading home in fact. But I saw the place and I wondered if anyone was in the Headquarters; you caught me looking through the window."
Um. Yeah.
Aricia flew in circles around the book and the man holding it."Oh, well. Uh." Alright, so much for what little had been left of their conversation. Tovar watched the attempt at socializing go up in flames. He grimaced. "Well in that case, by all means, don't let me stop you from going home," he managed with a slightly sheepish grin. "I should...probably be getting inside, anyway."
Or something like that.
Dear god, he failed at this whole 'meeting people' thing. At least he wasn't alone in failing. Unsure what to do in the awkwardness, Kierla merely nodded her good bye and turned to go without so much as a verbal farewell except "Let's go, Aricia."
Aricia threw a silent tantrum that only Kierla could hear, but grudgingly drifted after her. Once having caught up, the ghost turned around and waved her hand of mist at the guardian and his wand, then ran to tuck herself back in her usual place in the hem of Kierla's cloak.//end <3

'The Lunatic's Gift' Getting Sen and Cytha
"You are joking, little sister?"
"Nope~nyu! Now why I be joking~nyu?" Kiarna's eyes danced as she bounded in through the open door. "OhohIsee~nyu! I funnyfunny~nyu?" Without waiting for confirmation, she ran past Kierla, flapping her arms: "WHEEEEIFUNNY~nyu!" She turned to wink and wave at her adopted older sister, as if just noticing her there. "I make you laugh, no~nyu?"
No, you just make me cry, Kierla thought privately, shutting the door - but said nothing.
"NOOOOOOOW. WHEREWASI~NYU." Kiarna put on quite the show of pacing back and forth, hand tapping the chin, pulling an imaginary hat further over her face. "OHYES~nyu. I soooo happy you s'going to be a mother soon~nyu! So I brought presents for the kiddies~nyu!"
"You just told me that, back there. What I would like to know now is what precisely are these so-called presents." Kierla was careful to keep her expression stoic and voice flat, but inside her heart was beating rapidly. If these were her sister's presents they were talking about...
Without a word (finally, some quiet!), Kiarna whipped out from seemingly nowhere - did she keep hidden pockets somewhere on her person? -
..."Oh."
After glancing back at Quynh, who had appeared in the doorway, Kierla shook her head a fraction to each side. "Meimei...you do realize your presents aren't exactly the most practical thing in the - "
"Aww, comeon~nyu!" She put on the most pathetic and tear-wrenching display of puppy (kitty?) eyes, bottom lip pushed out in an absurd pout. "Lookit, Aricia likes hers!"
"She is Quynh. Not Aricia."
"AhIseeIsee~nyu! Yes, Aricia is the blobby ghost thing~nyu! Whereshe? AH!" She pointed dramatically at the misty head peeping out from Kierla's cloak hem at the fearsome hyperactive stranger.
Aricia shrank back in fright and confusion as the jabbing finger pointed her out.
"You're scaring the children. Now, please get out," Kierla said, pushing her sister towards the door.
"Okeekay~nyu!" Kiarna said cheerfully, not seeming to notice Kierla's cold tone. "I just leave them here, and - " she wrenched open the door and dashed out, calling over her shoulder "Byyyyeeee~nyu!"
"Wait! Don't leave them here! What am I supposed to - " As Kiarna's silhouette faded from sight into the June gloom mist, Kierla shrugged, then turned to her two wards, utter annoyance and confusion written on her heart.
After a long silence, Quynh hesitantly stepped forward to retrive her gift from her aunt.
Aricia too expressed her approval by floating in circles around her gift in curiosity.
Kierla merely let out the long past-due sigh, resigning herself to the two new family members that Kiarna had brought in.

-titlenotchosenyet- RP with Tovar and Etain and Leith (Pukio), and Neveah and Zasalamel (Enoh Love) Tovar had no idea where he was going. Gripping Etain's little hand in one of his vastly larger ones, the man blinked up and down the street of Durem, clearly confused, and cleared lost. Let's see; they'd gone to get Etain a haircut, they'd gone to get Etain new sandals (he really was growing fast), and now...
--Now they were completely lost.
"Uh..." said Tovar, if 'uh' was actually considered part of any language. With his usual satchel hanging against his hip, the smokey end of the wand (and Leith, technically - though sometimes it was difficult to think of the wisp as an actual person, if only sometimes) poking out into the warm afternoon air.
"We lost?" Etain piped up cheerfully. The little boy's new shoes squeaked obnoxiously as he rocked back and forth, from toe to heel.
"Not lost, exactly. Simply...misplaced," Tovar supplied slowly, sheepishly.Kierla, luckily, knew exactly where she was going.
Well, sort of.
Okay, not at all.
She just had the random impulse to go out and take a walk. Which was strange. Kierla didn't usually get random impulses to walk. But, hey, Kierla was too tired of thinking to ask why, so she just went along.
Suddenly, she noticed a very familiar...okay, she didn't recognize the person or the kid next to him, but she definetely recognized the wand. "...hey," she said, hurrying up to him and tapping him on the shoulder.
Aricia whirled in a spiral around the pair. She recognized the wand, too, and was quite intrigued by the hazey thing at the end.
Quynh, too, had come along. More like forced too; she would have rather stayed at home and sit in bed doing nothing all day, but she 'wasn't allowed to stay home alone.' Feh.
She blinked as she nearly ran into Etain; she wasn't much paying attention to where she was going, just following Kierla. "...Who?"If anyone had a suspicious mind, they would automatically assume that Neveah was totally trying her hardest to avoid something. Durem was a LONG way from her little home, and considering her company...she had to have been desperate to get away. NOBODY brings an infant that far away from home without a purpose.
Luckily for her, nobody had a suspicious mind!
"Aahbuhabuuu...hah!" The little infant was chanting contently from his nest in the butterfly woman's left arm, swaddled in such a big cloak-blanket as always. To the naked eye, it looked like an occasionally squirming package that sung to itself.
The butterfly woman herself didn't seem to notice...she was too busy admiring the little unicorn child to care what looks the rest of Durem was giving to her.
In fact, she didn't care to look where she was going and nearly collided with her old aquantence. "Ooof~!" Neveah grunted out, holding the bundle closer to her on newfound instinct. "I'm sorry, I didn't see yo---Oh hey, its you! Hi!" Oh, what a greeting. Way to go lady!."Alright, we'll cross the street here and then ask directions at the first shop we find..." Tovar was talking to himself, glancing nervously up and down the street as the lights ticked and the timer on the crosswalk counted down to when they could scuttle across to find someone to ask for directions.
Squeak, squeak, squeak! went Etain's sandals.
Suffice to say, they didn't get the opportunity to cross. Tovar felt the tap on his back, started, and clutched Etain to his hip like some paraoind parent frightened that someone was going to snatch the little unicorn boy up and steal him away. Not that anything like that had happened, but Tovar's overactive imagination could certainly formulate as much. He seriously needed a vacation in the Bahamas or something.
"Oh," he said, blinking and easing up his grip on Etain's shoulders (much to the apparent relief of the little boy). "It's you." Oh, that was definitely a great 'hello,' considering the track record he had with this woman and her children.
"Baby!" Etain screeched suddenly, hands popping out of Tovar's grip so quickly the young man didn't have time to snatch one of them back, and just barely had time to catch sight of the second woman and her bundle of gurgling baby before the little unicorn had gravitated to the woman's feet in order to get a closer look at the infant.Well, that was a great first round for a conversation. Two 'Oh hey it's you' at the same time. Kierla almost laughed. Almost.
"Yes, it's me," she replied to both of them. That sounded vaguely like Agent Smith from Matrix, but what could one do? To try and make it more friendly, she raised a hand cautiously and waved at them both, even though they were each less than a foot away from each other.
"I see both of your.." - what to call them? Not children, certainly - "wards have advanced somewhat in stage. Congratulations."
Aricia waved her stubby arms around, as if saying, HEY! Say hi to me toooooooo~ Whinegarglemumblegeez. Thank the gods she couldn't talk yet.
Quynh had now surreptitiously sneaked behind Kierla, using her as a shield from these strangers. "Who?" she asked again, tugging on Kierla's sleeve.//tobecontinuedOMG! >OO

'Baby Room' Growth Quest Part OneQuote: This quest involves creating a space and preparing for when the baby arrives. Be it a room or a corner in a room, just a small space to call their own. Aricia needed a baby room.
...Damn it.
Quynh had been fairly easy to settle in. Just lug a bed into the spare room, which Quynh didn't seem to mind was whitewashed and dingy (oddly enough, she seemed to like it). Quynh herself provided a giant rock she found as a bed-side table, and a table-lamp and a few personal items completed it.
But, now Aricia would have to be very different. She was going to be a baby, after all, not a very self-dependent toddler. She was going to have to be taken care of and comfortable every hour of the night and day and whatever was in between.
This would require some thinking.
And some shopping. Which meant...
With a sigh (Kierla seemed to be doing that a lot these days), she picked up the phone and dialed. It picked up on the first ring. "Meimei, it's me. Kierla."
"Mfmsoosh," came the reply. Kiarna probably was eating her hourly ice cream. "Of COURSE s'you, Kierla~nyu! Who else calls me Mei~nyu?" More swallowing sounds. "Whatcha want~nyu?"
There was a pause before Kierla spoke. Her answer came with a rush of static - another one of those sighs. "...shopping. I need to make a baby room for Aricia." She held the phone out at arm length, and waited.
She didn't have long to wait. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETHATISCOOLLETSGONOW!"
Pause, breath.
"THISISGOINGTOBE, LIKE, SOMUCHFUNOHMYGOD!"
Deeming it safe now, Kierla pressed the phone against her ear again. "Yes. So I need your help, knowing what to buy. I'll come over...now, if that is all right with you."
Her hopes were crashed and her hearing temporarily deaf: "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOFCOURSEOFCOURSEIGETREADYNOWOKAYBYEBYESEEYABYE!"
Click.
The soon-to-be mother of two dropped the reciever without bothering to hang it up, and sunk into her chair, rubbing her temples.
Hopefully, this wouldn't be too mind-frying.

'Toys for the Baby' RP with Avarice and Kyo and Xerksis (NinetailedNightmare) andSibuna and Darva (Bloody Anubis) Passerbyers turned, feeling a wind swoosh past, seeing a whirlwindy-blur fly by.
...ZOOOM.
There was also a black smudge being dragged behind. Who was, of course...Kierla. Aricia was tucked safe under the cloak, whining in Kierla's head in protest.
In the wake of the dustdevil, walked very serenely a girl in purple.
Finally, the whirlwind ceased, and Kiarna stopped, panting, in front a store. "FIRSTSTOP~nyu!" she screamed, causing more people to stare. "TOYSTORE~nyu!"
Oh, salvation, please come.'DEMON!'
Sibuna squeaked as the woman nearly collided with her, throwing up a pair of mahogany arms in her flinching. The voice that was a constant nag in her head continued to screech warnings of devil spawn and heathens, which had been really what she had squeaked over. Sometimes that voice just really got to her.
A pair of soft, gray eyes took the group in warily between her shield of arms. "What in God's name..." Oh...kay.
Without thinking, Sibuna quickly back-stepped, lowering her arms slowly. She'd almost clubbed that poor -crazed was more like it- woman with Darva!
Said green wispy wiggled impervious to the danger upon her staff-like wand, letting off a smell that wasn't unlike cinnamon. However, the newcomers wouldn't have too much time to look, for the woman quickly spun about and darted into the store. Good thing her poor little Daemyn was at his karate classes! She wouldn't want him to be scared by the too-cheerful woman. Maybe she really was possessed, as the inner voice chimed. Then again, that was always what that voice was going on about.[fontcolor=later]It was a massive store, and one could easily get lost in it if they didn't know where she was going. Luckily she had an escort to help her out. Well, she did have one. Wherever Avarice had run off to... She just hoped the teenager would have more restraint and wouldn't steal any of the plush toys lining the shelves. The sound of sneakers against the hard, tiled ground were muffled and overrode by the squeals of children the next row of toys over. The newest Japanese importation was here today, most likely. Greed paid them no mind, merely adjusting his leather jacket as he walked along. Hm... Nothing looked interesting as of yet, but what could one expect in a toystore? This were all fluff and no shine here. It was depressing (though it is assured that he wanted all of it).
What wasn't was the fact that the parents that took their kids were probably loaded. And as he slid into the mass of screaming children, his talented fingers shot out and relieved a rather frantic grandfather of his pocket-watch. He didn't have one of those yet. He was about to continue with his raid when something familiar pricked his mind. A soft snarl was emitted as he literally shoved children out of the way while tucking the watch away in his jacket. He'd admire that later. Right now, Kyo was calling him. Damn it. Couldn't she do this s**t on her own? When he took over the world, dammit, she was going to be in big trouble...
He was in the process of grumbling to himself when some black woman ran into his path, waving a stick. "Woah!" He reached up quickly, blocking the woman. "Where's the fire, lady?" A joking smirk. Now... what was that stick? And who was chasing her. With amusement, Avarice informed Kyo in the mind link she'd established that he was going to be a little late.Kierla blinked. She recognized that woman...and that wand. Apparently it was easier for her mind to remember wands rather than faces. "So she wisped?" she asked Sibuna, without so much as a greeting. Aricia came out of her hiding place, too, to drift over and poke at the wisp.
Quynh, in the meanwhile, had caught up to the group and was now taking in the sight of the toy store. She seemed particularily immersed in a stuffed animal carrying stitched flowers.
Kiarna was confused. "EHHH? You know this woman~nyu?" But before Kierla or any human could possibly reply, she let out one of those loud screams. "EEEEEEEEEEE! AVARICEYOUGREWHIIIIII~nyu!" She grabbed the Sin Shee in a tight hug, whirling him around. "Aradia grew too~nyu!" the girl said excitedly. "Where's Talis?"It was a little too much for the woman to take. She babbled an apology towards Avarice while clutching the wand to to her chest. When she tried to step away, she heard a familiar voice and blinked.
"M-m-miss Kierla?" She managed, then blushed in embarrassment. She'd been running from someone she knew? Well, she didn't know Kiarna and the woman was quite frankly scarring her. She was busy with the male now, though.
"Yes, she grew... I see yours... changed a bit." She offered mildly and blinked down at the prodding pink wisp. In response, Darva curled out of the way comically, not allowing herself to be prodded. She also seemed to be trembling with mirth.
Sibuna's gaze then fell on Quynh. "Hi, sweety. How come you're bein' so quiet. Cat got your tongue?"Avarice grinned at the procession until he was suddenly taken in a hug. Something he wasn't used to at all, even with Dionaea. Damn, she was strong! He didn't think he could pry himself out!
"'ey, easy, woman. There's enough Avarice to go around for all you ladies!" He said cooly, patting Kiarna's back before gently prying himself away. His wings were hidden beneath his jacket, but his tail was still visible. It lashed lazily from side to side now, the needle-like tip brushing just above the ground. He didn't even think he knew this woman! However, she must know him, for she mentioned Aradia next as well as Talis.
"Oh yeah?" He asked, tinting his voice with amusement while he adjusted the pair of stolen sunglasses he'd been wearing up his nose. "We'll have to see each-other again, then." Not. If that girl was still crazy as hell, he didn't want to see her... though he did want to fight her. He had a tail to do some neat tricks with now, too.
"Talis?" Avarice laughed, genuinely. "Talis wouldn't be caught dead in here, you should know that. The old man hates to shop, and all of us are teenagers now. Dionaea, me, and Noelle. We don't need toys, so he's got no reason to come. Nah, I'm here with Kyo and the foggy thing she won't let us tell ol' Tali about. Kinda like.. those things." He pointed at Aricia and Darva. "Yeah. You know who Kyo is, right?""No need to add the Miss," Kierla said, trying out a smile. It still felt strange, even after all the practice. "Yes, Aricia became a ghost. We are here to buy some things for when the ghost becomes the child."
"EEE!" Kiarna squealed again, right into Avarice's ear. "Dion is grown up too~nyu? Oh, this is so COOL~nyu!" She danced around Avarice several times, not registering the last bit.
Kierla glanced over at her sister, who was still dancing around Avarice. "Don't mind her. She's just a little...enthusiastic when it comes to shopping trips." Then she realized what her sister's friend had said. "Wait. What?" she asked, pushing Kiarna out of the way. "Did you say she has...a ghost thing like Aricia?"
Aricia straightened as she recognized her name being called and floated round in circles.
And of course, Quynh was being interrogated by Sibuna. That's how she felt it went, at least. She looked down, shrugged, then moved on to the next toy on the shelf.
"Right, right." Sibuna nodded slightly, a bit uncomfortable referring to anyone casually. She'd get over it, though... right? Hopefully. The voice was chattering harder than ever now.
'Dat boy be a pool o' sin, I tellin' ye. You stay away from him if you knows what's good for ye. Keep your sinful spirit-child 'way from him too. If you wan it to grow up right, dat is.'
The woman feigned a smiled, moving away from Quynh. Aww, she must be shy or something. How cute. Her attention was also drawn to Avarice, though, as he spoke. "Another one?"He wondered briefly why Aradia was going through so much trouble to get rid of D's friend from /this/ woman. She was trying to steal this guardian? Jeez. She was almost worse than Kaze. Almost. Kaze would have been climbing on top of him by now. As long as the woman kept her hands off, he could tolerate her. He did, after all, want to call himself the most suave sin.
"Yeah, he sure is. He was supposed to be here today, too, but he wanted to follow Talis to work and keep him company." He hadn't managed to drag the boy with him, unfortunately. Usually the fly was pretty easy to push around, but he'd put his foot down today. Though he had a sweet disposition, that boy could fight like the devil. Avarice chuckled to himself as he thought of /his/ brother. "Nah, it's cool... I've got some pretty hyper relatives."
Both emerald brows raised as Kierla pushed Kiarna out of the way. A small, devious smile flickered over his features. He liked this one. "Yeah, that's right. Forgot his name, but he's purple. Tentacles. I was about to head over there now. Would you lovely ladies care to join me?" He offered smoothly, proffering his leather-clad arms in an escorting offer. Oh yeah, a real lady's man, this one. He didn't really know what the big deal was about this ghosts when /he/ was standing there, but whatever. They'd go see Kyo, and then maybe he could escape once she was accompanied. That sounded like a good plan to him.Kierla nodded, eyes expressionless despite the usual surprise and excitement that followed when she heard of another wand owner. "Tentacles..." she said thoughtfully. "That is...interesting."
"VERYINTERESTING~NYU!" Kiarna shouted, not seeming the least dazed from her fall. "LET'S GO~NYU! We can have a big shopping trip ALLL together~nyu!" She clamped onto Avarice's arm, grinning broadly. "Lead the way~nyu!"
"Come, Quynh, Aricia." Kierla looked at Sibuna. "Do you want to come shopping with us?"
Aricia flew through the air, shrilling her glee in Kierla's mind, then ran into Avarice's head. Quynh seemed to be walking along normally, until she popped up right next to Avarice. "What's this?" she questioned, snagging the glint of metal peeking out from his jacket. It was the pocket watch he had stolen earlier. What a lively bunch! Sibuna listened to the conversation distantly, wondering again while she was here. Darva drifted just beneath her nose, emitting smells of honey now. It tickled. Sibuna almost sneezed.
She blinked as she was offered to go shopping and nodded without thinking. "I came in here to get my son something nice while he's at class. Maybe I could get something for this one for later.." She murmured.
Her inner voice squealed its protest, but she slid up to Avarice's side, only touching the elbow of the arm and trying to avoid Quynh. "Thank you... I wouldn't mind meeting this woman." Little did she know, she already had.Avarice didn't move his head as Aricia smacked into it, merely chuckling. "This one's got some fight in it, huh?" The other one was a brain-sucker. He often had to talk with the thing when he was close to it, but preferred not to. He didn't like those mind things- that was Talis' speciality. He had to begun to move away when he felt something slip out of his pocket. Oh, no no no. That was something you did /not/ want to do to Greed. If he wasn't in the company of these women, he would have smacked the girl hard enough to daze her.
With a surprising display of restraint, Avarice rolled his shoulders casually. "It's a pocket watch. Pretty nice, huh?" The arm Sibuna was holding became a blur of motion and, before she'd know it, the treasure was plucked away from Quynh. The watch was dangled from its chain between two fingers where it glistened silver in the light and showed off all the intricate engravings. "You should ask next time, okay? It's not nice to take stuff from people's pockets." Hypocrite. BIG hypocrite.
That said, the teen placed the pocket watch in his pants pocket and allowed Sibuna to grab his arm again. He lead them through the shelves, following the directions he was mentally supplied with. "Kyo! Friends!"Kyo turned her head from whatever she was doing, which just happened to be trying to snag a plush animal from a shelf too high for her to reach. She lowered herself from her tip-toed stance, one of her silver shackles banging unpleasantly against the shelf as she did. The woman was clad in a simple pair of black jeans and a purple top. Something exceptionally simple to go shopping in. Her black hair was flicked out of her eyes so she could take them in.
"Kiarna." She'd never forget that spazz of a woman. "And... I'm afraid I can't remember ever being properly introduced to you..But we've met" To Sibuna. Her eyes took in the wisps and she knew what they were her for almost instantly. An airy gesture was made to the shopping cart before her, where a ghostly infant floated in the kid's seat, moving its tentacles out of boredom. At the feel of new minds, its head whipped around to face them- incredibly squid-like in its shape.
A mind message was sent out immediately, targeted for the pink wisp first. If it were prepared to receive such a message, there would be a cloud of purple smoke. If not? Well, usually it caused headaches, but since this one was in wisp form, it shouldn't get there at all.Quynh looked like she was about to try and grab the pocket watch back, but just backed away, looked down at her feet, and shrugged again. If she protested that could lead to an argument which mean more talking she would have to do.
Kiarna remembered her, from that winter party. She let go of Avarice and grabbed Kyo's hand, shaking energetically. "HI~NYU! HOWAREYOU~NYU!" It looked like she was at the peak of her hyperactivity, judging solely by the amplitude of her shout. Security might start heading over soon if she didn't quiet down.
"My name is Kierla. I am Kiarna's adopted older sister." She bowed formally, then her eyes lingered on the purple ghost. "Don't bother her, Aricia," she said - for Aricia was doing the usual whirling around routine she did when she met someone new.
She stopped immediately, however, when she felt something. She had no mental powers except the link between her and Kierla, so she couldn't quite comprehend; but she felt something. The ghost darted behind Darva, as if the misty substance could act as a shield.Sibuna started as the boy snagged the watch back from the girl. It seemed like he had some sort of experience with that... Her mind -the one that wasn't crazy- wouldn't dwell on it. Instead, she gave a warm smile to Kyo.
"My name is Sibuna, ma'am. I haven't decided on a name for this chile yet." She felt like she was a bit left out, not knowing all these people. But that was what meetings were for. She shifted slightly, catching sight of the other ghost. It was cute in a sort of scary way. "May I ask if yours has one? And... maybe I can help?" Sibuna was tall- remarkably so for a woman. She'd be able to reach the toy easily.
Darva wavered as Aricia drifted behind her, spinning around and waving at the pink one in a crazy little pattern with her body. Of course, she wouldn't know what Aricia was so scared of.Avarice narrowed his eyes at Quynh dangerously, the sunglasses blocking it, thankfully. If she didn't think he'd put her in a headlock or wrestle a kid, she was wrong. He relaxed when she backed off, though was really already relaxed. With no one but the kid to watch him, he turned on his heel and began to saunter away... There were things to steal! Money to achieve. He already had a pawn broker who was now a great friend of his."I'm fine..." Kyo told Kiarna calmly, not moving as the woman shook her hand. It was a heavy arm, as there was a thick piece of metal on both wrists. The small chains on them rattled as they were shaken. "I see that you are well..."
Her dark blue eyes rested on Kierla and she nodded her pale chin. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Kierla. You as well, Sibuna. I assume I need no introduction and neither does Avarice... This little one is Xerksis." Her head gestured to the spirit.
Xerk seemed pleased enough with the response. No pictures, hm? A simple, warm feeling was conjured up and shoved at both the wisps. One did not have to have mental powers to feel it- it was a vibe that anyone could feel. His form rocked slightly, leaning him forward to touch the safety bar before him. His wand lay beneath him, glistening in all its black luster.
"Would you?" Kyo sighed softly, though twitched a smile towards Sibuna. It'd be a big help if she didn't have to climb the shelves. "I'm here to buy Xerksis something for when he comes into the world. A friend of mine is giving me the crib she used. It's just my job to... get supplies. Is this also what you are all.. here for?"Unfortunately for Avarice, Quynh decided to follow along. "What're you doing?" she questioned as she sneaked after him like a purple shadow.
Kierla nodded. "Yes, that is - " "BIIIIINGO~nyu!" Kiarna bellowed, interrupting her sister. "We are on mission GET THINGS FOR THE BABY ROOM~nyu!" "As Kiarna said," Kierla continued calmly, nodding again.
Aricia now merely felt curiosity toward this strange new ghost. Who was he, to be able to use the mind so deftly?
...AND the wand was shiny. Oooh.
But Aricia felt a lot safer with Darva, and Darva was currently stuck on her wand. Glancing surreptitiously at Sibuna, Aricia tried to remove the wand so she would be able to go check out the new anomaly AND stay with Darva.Unfortunately for Aricia, Darva's 'wand' was more like a 'staff' and was large enough to club someone with. Of course, the wood was decorated with all sorts of flowers and pretty vines, but it still didn't change the fact that it was heavy. Aricia might not be able to lift it. Not only that, but Sibuna noticed.
Silver eyes flapped their long lashes at Aricia curiously, a small smile touching her lips. Well, she was going over there anyway. Sibuna walked towards Kyo as she agreed to the help. "Of course! It's not a problem at all!"
Darva wavered as the warm feeling hit her, curious. She couldn't really see, so she merely wavered about as Sibuna walked. She didn't seem to mind Aricia, either. Soon, the staff was set near Xerksis on the cart. "Hope you don't mind..." She went over to the shelf and picked up the plush she though Kyo had been reaching for with a mere stretch of her arm. "This one?"God damn it... "I'm gonna walk," Avarice said simply. "They don't need me. What are you doing?" He asked her, fingering the half-dollar attached to the chain that hung over his chest. His first treasure ever. He hadn't forgotten it."Ah, I see.." Kyo murmured softly. "So yours is about to grow into a baby, too? That's good.. And yes, Sibuna, that's the one." She took the dog from the woman's hands. It was black in color and shaped oddly so its ears were lightning-shaped and a bit longer than they were supposed to be. It was a rather odd plushy, but she set it in the cart. "And that one, too, please."
The next one was silvery in color and had no face at all; only a gaping zipper of a mouth. The two were a part of the set. Xerksis seemed to perk as the wand was set next to him, reaching up to grab the wand with one of his stubby, astral hands.Quynh shrugged. Apparently, it was a favorite gesture of hers. "Ditto." Her gaze was drawn to the half-dollar, and she pointed at it. "Is that a flower?"
Kierla looked at the stuffed creatures that Kyo had chosen. "You have interesting taste in toys." Then she turned her attention to the three pre-babies. "We should meet up again once the three of them become babies. What do you two think?" It wasn't something she was particularily enthusiastic about, but it sounded like something a good mother might say.
"And Aricia says thank you, Sibuna."
Aricia indeed seemed grateful for her kindness: she was dancing around in the air, merrily turning somersaults. Now she could play with the two Ones Like Her. Curiously, she yanked on one of Xerksis's tentacles. What were these? These were not like her.Sibuna nodded to the statement about interesting taste in toys and reached for the next one. At the suggestion she paused and smiled. "Of course! I'd be happy to!" She set the plushy in the cart alongside its other.
"She... said that?" Sibuna blinked. Darva had never spoken to her before. It was an odd concept to her. "Well, she's welcome. Darva doesn't seem to mind." Indeed- Darva was swirling curiously around her wand, leaning towards Xerksis. The atmosphere around them would gain a pine scent. That was her signal that she was curious."A flower? Hell no. This is a coin. Money." He informed her, shoving his hands deep into his pockets. "You don't have to walk with me, ya know? ...What's your name?""He picked it." Kyo informed Kierla simply, beginning to push her cart along. Obviously she meant Xerksis. "It's fine with me... It is fated that they are to meet together once more some day, for they are all from the same place..."
Xerk shook his head as one of the tentacles were pulled. No one did that before! Now that she was so close, her shot forward, clinging to Aricia while the rest of those tentacles moved and crawled over her face and head. Eww!A silence as she processed the statements, then the girl answered the last sentence. "...Quynh."
"Not in exact words," Kierla amended, "But I'm pretty sure that's what she meant. I suppose after listening to all that chattering for so long, it is easy to understand now. Do wisps make noises?" Kierla couldn't recall Aricia ever giggling or squealing as a wisp, but maybe each one was different.
Kiarna, of course, was just thinking about how fun it would be when they all were babies. "...AND THEY CAN PLAY ON THE SWINS AND WE CAN HAVE ICE CREAM~NYU!" she concluded, not paying a single bit of attention to anyone there.
At first Aricia just did nothing, floating dumbly as the tentacles seethed over her face. Then she tried to squirm away desperately, frightened by the sudden contact. She clung to Darva's wand like it was a raft in the middle of the ocean."Oh, I see." Sibuna directed her vision towards the ghostly children, blanching at what looked like was going on. "Kyo, is Xerksis eating Aricia?" She asked worriedly, reaching out for them but then pulling her hand back. She was having second thoughts about touching them.
Darva swayed from side to side happily, stretching down as far as she could when her wand was touched. She tapped her foggy head against the crown of Xerksis', emitting a peppermint smell.
"Darva hasn't ever said anything or made sounds, but she smells. Good smells. They're always changing. I think it might have something to do with her moods, but I'm not for certain." She still eyed the wisps and Kyo, wandering after her when they began to walk. Her eyes scanned to shelves, too, looking for anything for Daemyn. He needed more boyish things. Like a toy sword or something."That's a weird name." He informed her simply, eying the shelves as he walked. He wasn't going to snatch anything in front of her. Not yet. Nothing seemed valuable enough to do so. "Whose kid are you? The peppy one or the quieter one?""Xerksis hasn't said anything or made sounds, so I doubt it. He can talk, though. Shows pictures. If you get a headache, he's trying to talk to you. He does that a lot. I'm sorry before-hand." She sighed, just sticking that issue out into the open where everyone knew. These ones didn't seem like the type to hate Xerksis for what he was or call him a monster. She was usually scared to tell others.
"Hm? Ah, no. He's just clinging. He does that a lot, too, if you get close enough. No..." She paused for a moment. "I'd say he's curious about whoever is pulling at his tentacle. It's his way of getting to know you..." Why did her child sound like he was going to be a weirdo when he came into the world?
Xerksis clung still, until Darva drifted down and tapped him on the head. Then he let go of Aricia and clung to the other girl instead. Minds! Lots of new minds!"Kierla," was all Quynh would say. She didn't even acknowledge the vague insult. Hopefully Avarice had been listening enough to know who was Kiarna and who was Kierla.
"Smells as moods..." Kierla said thoughtfully. "And one with telepathic capacity? You two are going to have some very interesting babies." Kierla felt good now. Aricia may be weird considering she was a ghost reborn, but at least she wasn't as weird as these.
-and currently ignoring Kiarna as of now because she's just being unbearably random-
Aricia flew backwards as she was let go, skidding on the ground. Then she drifted back up, chattering angry gibberish that only Kierla could hear. The tentacled one was unsafe to touch directly. What happens if she poked it with her wand...?
Poke. >> "Yeah, smells. She's an earth spirit, so maybe it ties in." Sibuna shrugged, eying the children as they went about their business.
"Can babies swing by themselves?" She asked aloud, taking off what Kiarna was babbling. "I don't know if icecream is a good idea if they're that hyper..."
Darva tried wiggling from his hold, pulling back up towards the tip of her wand again.
"Do you mind if I use part of your cart for my things?" Darva asked Kyo. She didn't want to have to go get a basket and the woman didn't seem to be collecting a whole lot. "Um.. where are the other children?" Avarice and Quynh were gone."Huh. What do you want, anyway?" He took a sharp turn into another aisle, taile lashing in his wake."No less interesting then yours might be." She hoped. She hoped the boy was going to be normal... yet knew he wasn't. Her hand reached out again, snagging a teddy bear off the shelf nearby. "I don't mind. What are you looking for? All of you."
Xerk started at the poked, reaching down and grabbing up his own wand while slipping away from Darva. He brought the wand around and knocked the other wand away from him, threatening the pink wisp with the barbed tip and skull. Don't do that!
"Hm? Avarice... is probably getting in trouble somewhere. Usually Dionaea is here to keep him in check."Quynh kept right with him, giving him one of her infamous shrugs. As of now she was thinking what were the best conditions to grow roses in, and wasn't really paying attention.
Eek! This was fun now - wand wars all over again, just like with Kishi. Although that wand was a little too spikey for her taste. Aricia backed away behind Darva just in case.
"We can help the kids~nyu on the swings~nyu," Kiarna said eagerly. "And ice cream is a MUST~nyu!"
"Anything good for a baby," Kierla replied, ignoring Kiarna as usual. A little vague, but what could she say? She honestly did not know what babies liked and needed and wanted. She stopped before a My Little Pony. "Do kids like these?" To her, they looked a little stupid, but who knew how those minds worked?
Her head shot up as she heard Sibuna's last remark. "Quynh is not here?" A quick look around confirmed that. Now Kierla was really, uncharacteristically worried. "Do you think she went with Avarice?" she asked hopefully.Darva wavered, happy to be released. Cinnamon tinted the air with her annoyance, but as she felt Aricia behind her, she seemed to inflate a little. She'd protect her, or that's what she seemed to think.
"If you say so." Sibuna smiled, chuckling despite herself. "Um... diapers, right? Has anyone here had kids before? This is my first baby ever. My first child was.. well, a child! He just needed some clothes."
She glanced around again, as if they'd suddenly appear. "She's probably fine. She seems like a smart girl." A small nod. Her eyes caught sight of the pony toys. "Those are cute. Maybe she will. Children are all different.""She probably is with Avarice..." Kyo paused for a moment, swaying.Avarice grumbled suddenly, adjusting his coat. "Don't you think your ma is worried about you? You're still a kid. Go away.""He's got her." She confirmed, pushing the cart along. "Blankets, crib, gerber food, formula, milk, diapers, change of clothes, baby wipes, thermometer, monitor, baby powder, and changing table." She rattled off idly. "And /then/ you may buy what you think they may want. I suggest a mobile, rattle, or pacifier. Yes, I have raised... seven babies, but none were my own... My own came to me as children. One I adopted as a teenager. This is the forth child I may call mine only."
Xerk lowered his wand as Aricia drifted off, setting it next to him. He then scooted over to Darva's wand and hugged it, content to be there at the moment.Quynh sighed; he was getting most disagreeable. She pondered what to do: talk and explain, or go away?
Well, she'll have to abbreviate it as brief as possible.
"I'm looking for flowers. Mom said Shee come out of flowers. You are a Shee, so you should know where flowers are, no?"
"Oh, good." Kierla let the relief show for a brief second before pulling herself together and listening attentively, nodding as Kyo listed each item. "Okay. That is a lot of children...you must be a very experienced mother by now." For some reason, Kierla really wanted to say the question she had asked so long ago, so many times: Is that what it means to be a mother? Had she ever asked Sibuna? She couldn't remember, but she didn't think so.
She shook it off. "Where can I get those things? Here?"
Aricia looked on with interest, then copied Xerk, hugging the part of Darva's wand just beside him.
Sibuna blanched as Kyo went on about what they would need. The inner voice hissed out how they were all sinners, but she easily ignored it. "Yeah.." She echoed Kierla, feeling her cheeks hit a bit. They must seem really inexperienced to her. She still took in the information listed with some glimmer of hope that she could remember it.
Darva seemed to look down at the others, feeling them on her wand. The smells of honey rippled through the air that this and she bent backwards and upside down, hanging near them while swaying.
"Ah, here. Maybe she'll like this?" She mumbled to herself, picking up a small barbie doll box. "Little girls like dolls, right? This one's a... ballerina princess?" She giggled softly, shaking her head. Wow.
Avarice cocked his head down at her, looking over the rims of his sunglasses at her with those devious green eyes. "That's right, I'd know. I came from a ball of ivy- not much of a flower. But I'm a bit special. What do you want with a Shee?" He stopped, bending over a bit to face her now. He was curious now.
"I have had many years to learn... And yes, you could probably get the crib, the changing table, and a mobile here. Grocery stores have the food. The diapers are in the hygiene aisle and any supermarket should have them. I suggest a thrift store for clothes- babies grow up quickly. I have most of the things at my home now. All I need are really the toys..."
Xerk leaned over when she clung to the wand nearby, one tentacle reaching out to brush her. A feeling of what was boredom was shoved at her before he looked up and attempted tickling Darva with his tentacles.
"The doll should be fine. If she doesn't like it, you can bring it back." She said simply, reaching out and taking up a child's jigsaw puzzle. "Just toss it in. We can sort it out later."
Great, more talking. Hadn't she talked enough? Quynh rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. "I want flowers," she said stubbornly. She would have said please, but that was an extra word to say that was unnecessary.
Kierla found herself nodding again, then glanced at Sibuna. It felt good to know she wasn't the only one who was a first-timer. "Sibuna, want to go look at the cribs?"
"How do you babyproof a room~nyu?" Kiarna piped up.
Dot. Dot. Dot.
You'd think - hope - she'd know by now, considering all the children she'd adopted.
Boredom. The boredom made her bored. Bored was not fun, and not fun made Aricia grouchy. She whacked Xerk demandingly with the wand.
"Huh?" Someone was inviting her to join them in an activity? "I'd love to." She smiled with a nod, then glanced towards their charges. "Do we need to bring them?" Or maybe Kiarna and Kyo could watch them? Wow... She was the only guardian here whose name didn't start with a 'K'. Of course she would realize something so useless...
Darva stirred at the sudden activity, upbeat and hyper and swirling around her wand like a dog at the end of its leash.
Sibuna paused at Kiarna's question... and left it for Kyo to answer. She, in the meantime, stepped a little closer to Kierla. "Maybe we'll see Quynh and Avarice on the way over there?""You can get flowers without Shee. In fact, you're more likely to get a flower than a Shee. We're rare." He snorted, straightening while his amusement began to fade. "Just look around you outside. There are plenty of flowers and weeds. You can't keep them away... Maybe they got somethin' here that'll let you grow a few of your own." He shrugged indifferently, not interested by flowers. He could see Dionaea in this situation, trying to encourage the girl in her quest of finding flowers. Another soft snort. Good thing D wasn't here."You two can go ahead, I'll watch the children." Kyo told them without a second thought. She was used to it by now. Her eyes slowly slid to Kiarna slowly, obviously thinking what Kiarna's announcer-text had stated. "Baby-proof... Well, no sharp corners. Keep phone-chords out of the way. Find the plastic installments to seal up your electrical outlets. Perhaps a play-pen would be best, too. High walls so the can't get out. I suggest flat surfaces so they can't climb it..."
She'd go on and on for a while why she continued to push the cart along, not paying any mind as Xerksis took up his wand and whacked Aricia back.
"How's... Mari?" Yeah. The one that kissed her son.Now she folded her arms. "You're a special Shee. You can get me special flowers." She winced at the word 'weeds', but didn't say anything more, as was her policy.
Kierla stuck around just long enough to hear the first few sentences about baby-proofing then took off for the cribs. She'd have to pick up the rest from her sister later. "Where are the cribs, do you think?" she questioned Sibuna.
Unfortunately for Kierla, Kiarna wasn't even really paying attention to the lengthy answer to her question. She'd have to get it out of a book. Instead, Kiarna was having fun watching the wand battle between the two ghosts (WHACK!). "Mari~nyu? She's good. Although she's been acting reeeaaaallly grouchy ever since that Snowflake Ball. Ya know~nyu? And she's reeeeaaally mean to her sister too~nyu!" Actually it was quite the other way around; but Aradia was pretty good at acting the angel at home. The waitress would follow the woman without a second glance, trusting Kyo enough to keep an eye on the kids. If it was just Kiarna, she might have been worried, understandably.
"I have no idea," She confessed. "I once worked at a Walmart and they had some in boxes near the furniture. Maybe they'll have some on display here?" She offered.
Darva was content to whirl around the event going on, tugging fruitlessly at her 'wand' to try to join.
"...So you don't have any other children besides Quynh and Aricia?" Sibuna asked, trying to offer some sort of conversation as she kept her eye out for cribs or boxes that looked like them. "They must be near the playpens, maybe."Avarice was about to tell her that being Shee had nothing to do with special flowers when opportunity struck. He tilted his head back haughtily in an imitation of what his sister might do, smirking. "And what makes you think I'll get you any special flowers? What would you give me?""Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Aradia, isn't it? The boys have told me about them both. Dionaea particularly likes Mari, as a friend. Of course... Talis is less than agreeable about it." A soft sigh. "But they're old enough to go out on their own now and make their own decisions. Tell Mari I said hello for me?"
Xerk countered the whack with his wand, waggling it threateningly (yet playfully) at Aricia while swaying from side to side. He began to scoot back, inching up Darva's wand. He'd take her prisoner! This would have been the perfect time to pull out a gun, point it to his head, and say in a melodramatic voice, Your life.
Of course, Quynh had neither gun nor wish to take his life in the first place. "What do you want?"
"Over there, I think I see them," Kierla pointed out past a stack of boxes. "No, but Kiarna has tons. Sometimes I help take them to the park." She stopped before the cribs, already inspecting a bright, neon highlighter yellow one. "What about you? And I think this one might give a kid seizures..."
"DIONISSUCHASWEETBOY~NYU!" Kiarna said, getting more in the shouting mood again. She nodded sympathetically. "I guess so~nyu! Strange it is, when the get older, no?" She nodded again. "Okayokay, I tell her~nyu."
NO! He couldn't take the nice one hostage! Aricia rushed at him, wand held at ready like a lance.Oh, good. There they were. Sibuna made her way over to the cribs as well, eyes running over the cribs as if she were inspecting a car. Not that she had a car. She was too terrified of them. Great, hulking metal beasts? They were unnatural and unneeded. What happened to walking or riding a bike? People were honestly killing the Earth. She hated the new technology.
Thankfully, they had had cribs in the old-fashioned valley from which they grew up. As long as the things couldn't change into a robot or something equally as wild... she should be fine. The Egyptian woman frowned slightly at the neon yellow crib, shaking her head to herself while she answered. "Ah, she's got a lot of... spirit. And I only have one more child who is a boy. His name is Daemyn. You saw him in the diner, I think. He's taller now. He had to go to a fight class; I don't know why, because he's such a sweet boy..." Daemyn had his mother coiled around his little finger. "Um... that one is pretty odd." She nodded to another crib, which was purple and lined with neon peace-signs and disco flowers.
Darva wasn't aware that she was 'in trouble' yet. She merely rocked and lightly bumped against Xerksis in her blindness. What did he want? Avarice trembled once, tail pausing in its lashing. What did he want? He was Greed. He wanted /everything/ in this world that was valuable. He wanted the whole world. Not that she could give it to him. The teen grinned down at her, shaking his head. "Your most valuable treasure." There. That should shake her off."Yes, yes he is..." Kyo agreed. "And yes, to see them all grow up... It's satisfying, yet depressing. I will no doubt watch many generations come and go. Talis' children are almost ready to be out on their own now, and Kaze's are getting there. One of them, anyway. And yours?"
Hey, no! She better not really be trying to stab him with that! Xerk slipped up behind Darva, clinging to her back while waving his wand at the other. Ha! Hostage! Only Darva didn't know to play along yet.Quynh couldn't help herself; she started laughing. Laughing, laughing, laughing without stopping. Finally she calmed down to say: "My most valuble treasures...are my flowers."
Kaze...that sounded familiar. But Kiarna didn't put the connection between the spider BtS's father and Kyo, and dismissed it. (XPP) "Lessee~nyu! Aradia's a teen now, Mari's been grown up long time~nyu! But most of my kids are still kids~nyu."
Ah, no! She couldn't stab the precious! Already nearing them and too late to stop running (floating fast?) now, she dug the tip of the wand into the ground and vaulted over them.
She landed with a faint splat sound on a very high shelf, forgot completely about the battle with Xerksis, and started poking a teddy bear with a sticker that said 'Press Me'. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star began echoing through the store in cheap, tinny tones.
"How old is he again?" Kierla couldn't remember. Did she see him? Yes she did, but she couldn't remember anyways. She never could remember faces. "Yes, it is," Kierla agreed. "What color do you have in mind as your goal?""Oh... He's about eight, maybe, in human standards. And he's only getting bigger!" She looked around at the cribs, shaking her head again. "Just a wood one should do. Polished as smooth, of course. Wouldn't want her to get splinters..." Her eyes now ran over a deep mahogany-colored piece, her feet unconsciously shuffling her closer.
"How about you? What color do you think you should get?"
Why did things keep knocking into her? Darva wriggled in protest and let out her annoyed scent of cinnamon, trying to slip away. Something seemed missing now.. where was Aricia?//tobecontinuedOMG! >OO

'Baby Room' Growth Quest [Part Two]
Great. All the stuff bought, and a few clinking pieces of gold still left in the purse. This was fabulous.
Kierla looked at the jumble of baby things, stacked up on her bed, and sighed.
Baby things did not a baby room make. As if going shopping wasn't enough, Kierla would actually have to move the goddamn things around the room.
Might as well get started. But where?
Aricia floated aimlessly, got blown across the room due to the fan (although luckily she didn't let go of her wand), and got stuck in the crib. Winding her hands around the bars, she looked like the pink ghost of a criminal in jail. The black color of the crib didn't help dispell the image, either.
"So you want to get started with the crib, then?" Kierla said, gliding forward and plucking the baby ghost from its prison. She glanced wildly around her meager bedroom, spotted an empty corner, then grabbed hold of one end. "Okay." The crib's legs squealed painfully across the floor as she dragged it toward its rightful place, where it set down with a thump and a poof of dust. Wow. She really needed to dust this room; it never had mattered to her when it was just her, but now that a baby was on the way, surely a dusty enviroment wouldn't be too healthy. Kierla turned the fan on higher, and a smoggy mist of golden dust spores raised off the floor and whooshed out the open window.
Next.
Well, Kierla supposed she should put some things in the crib now. Spying a the teddy bear that sang Twinkle, she snagged it and placed it delicately on the grey pillow, covering it over with the blanket she had purchased along with the crib. Aricia immediately swooped into the covers, hugging the bear and resting on the pillow. Kierla couldn't help but smile at that, and she set to the rest of the things with slightly more enthusiasm. As she hung up the mobile and twirled it gently with one finger, Kierla wondered what Aricia would look like, as a baby. She hoped she would be cute. But weren't all babies so? No, Kierla remembered this really ugly one; looked like a baby ostrich, with its big nose...
As Kierla was muttering to herself and chuckling quietly, Quynh snuck in, watching her mother with a tilted head. Kierla spotted her other daughter.
"Oh, um...sweetie?" The word sounded strange. "Quynh?" Yes, better stick with the names. "Put this over in the living room, if you will," she instructed, holding out a baby monitor.
"No."
"Don't be a brat. Here's the instructions manual," Kierla said, thrusting the pamphlet at her, which Quynh took, along with the monitor. "And once you're done with that, come back here and set up the other end."
Quynh nodded, and left to do her work, while Kierla grabbed the food and headed toward the kitchen, then stored the diapers, baby wipes, and baby powder under the sink in the bathroom. She set up the changing table next to the crib, then stood back, admiring the work. "Good job, Quynh," Kierla praised, and the Superstition nodded.
There was now just a small pile of things left on the bed: The baby clothes. That was nothing, at least; she dumped the whole heap in her arms and sat on the living room couch, turning the television to some sort of crafts channel. There, she docilely folded the clothes, setting them neatly to the side...until the tired woman dozed off.
She was awakened by the sound of giggles, of which she distinctly recognized. Oh, not Aricia again! It was especially irritating that she was the only one who could hear it -
The noises were coming from the baby monitor that Quynh had dutifully placed on the table. Now that Kierla was fully awake, she heard the rustle of cloth, a girl's footsteps...
Resisting the urge to barge into her room, she drifted smoothly toward the door and...peeked in.
Quynh was leaning over the crib, the weeds around her feet dancing merrily in the non-existant wind. And in the crib was a baby.
Quynh caught her mother's eye, and moved her shoulders up and down in that famous shrug of hers.
Well, Aricia was finally here.
And god, was she cute.

'BABEH.' Journal Entry
Well, Aricia the baby is here, and she's an absolute freak. Sure, she's cute and everything - okay, she's very cute, especially making that puppy face - but Lordy Lou is she a curious. One of those things I simply detest. The only thing that deserves curiousity is Death, since no one knows what it is like. The world is so very boring, I don't know why people bother exploring it. Really.
But it is a little fun, being a mother, I suppose. Quynh helps out a great deal, although not very willingly - although I'm beginning to doubt she does anything willingly except pick flowers.
Uhoh. I hear giggling. Which probably means she got out. Which probably means something is getting broken.
It is a few hours later full of screaming, laughing, and scolding when Kierla could finally get back to the journal, and by then was too tired to write more than a single word.
Yup.

'...MORE Toys for the Baby.' Getting the Journal "No...Mei...please...""WHAT~nyu?" Kiarna jumped up and down excitedly, overriding the Kierla's half-hearted protests. "Prezzies are FUN to RECIEVE and to GIVE~NYUYAY! Speaking of which, gotta present fer me~nyu?""No," Kierla said flatly. But Kiarna had already moved onto the giving part and was no longer listening to her sister. "All right, 'RICIA! WHERE ARE YOU~NYU?Aricia turned her head and gurgled at her aunt."PEEKABOO," Kiarna shouted, then frowned. "Ya haffta close your eyes first~nyu Aricia~nyu!"Aricia tilted her head, then turned away uninterestedly. Old lady scary."...okay, that works too~nyu! Now...HERE!" Kiarna cried, beaming as she tossed from behind her back the toys she had brought. The poor pegasus child yelped when something hit her head and squeaked.Aricia soon forgot her irritation and slight pain at the sight of the toys. "DA!" she shrieked, grabbing hold of the I eat humans bib and stuffing it in her mouth.Kierla made an extra effort to blink normally and not stare. These things..."Kiarna, Aricia is a Pegasus. She doesn't eat humans, and I'm going to make sure she doesn't eat too much candy either." After a pause and realizing Kiarna was paying no attention whatsoever to her, Kierla decided to try and find out if she could get the stuff refunded. "Where did you get these...gifts?" she said conversationally."Some place called...the Nightmare Cafe~nyu. And no refunds," Kiarna replied equally as casual.Drat. Kiarna knew her too well...
Kierla nearly jumped a foot when the girl shrieked and exclamation."NYU! I ALMOST FORGOT~NYU!" Mumbling to herself, the eccentric aunt tugged at something crammed into the too small pocket of her jeans. "Got - it at - Selonil - Designs," she huffed before finally managing to wriggle out a dusty, but very beautiful and professional looking book. "For Aricia," she said.Now...this was better. "Aricia?" Kierla called, trying to get her baby's attention. "Aricia...look what your aunt got for you." She held out the journal.Watching the hand and its possession greedily, Aricia spit out the gorey bib and latched onto her journal, chewing it to bits and finally swallowing it.Kierla couldn't help but stare this time. Kiarna was silent too. After a long moment, Kierla cleared her throat: "Where did you say you got that journal from again?"
