Tia's expression fell slightly at Gale's announcement, feeling the loss of one of the few faces she felt familiar and friendly with. "I'm glad you're going to be happy but I'm sorry you're going." She admitted. "Do you think you'll come back at any point?"
She glanced sidelong at Tatath, a flicker of defensiveness over her own partner crossing her face at the mention of 'best for last'.
"The tiny Red was the last to impress, Tatath" She reminded Tatath, out loud, instead of arguing which one of the greens was 'better'.
Tatath is better. Yanath noted with certainty, though she was pleased as anything at her sisters praise of her hide.
"Yanath...."
She knew most of the riders, the older ones, must be speaking with their dragons, but they weren't doing it out loud, which made her feel awkward and unskilled, but surely the habit would come with time.

“I’m Galeia,” the harper girl answered while disentangling herself from Tia. Her conversation became rapport with her friend then, until mentioning the Harper hall. “Well I’ll be coming back,” she said with a glance at Canoake, and the sweetness in her words was hard to owe to her pleasure with talking to Tia or some feminine poison for Canoake. She looked back to Tia. “The weyr’s always been my home – I don’t think I could stand leaving it for long. Once I get my knots I’ll be right back in the center of it. Your pair ought to be flying by then.” She smiled again at the dragonets.

Canoaoke smiled at Tatath's comments and Tia's remarks about the tiny Red. She rubbed her dragon's head as if to praise the dragon even more for her cleverness. She was getting anxious now to meet with the others. Turning back to the other green rider and her friend, she gave a slight nod. "I shall leave you here, Tia to catch up with your friend. After all, we have the rest of our time later to bond. Who knows, we may even bunk together. It was a pleasure, Galeia. And perhaps, when you are ready to come back, Tia or myself may come to gather you. Enjoy the rest of the feast."
Come along, Tatath. Say goodbye now.
Gracefully, Canoake moved off and towards the other two green riders and the new bronze rider. She hadn't seen the brown rider yet. Oh well, lessons would start in a day and then they could get cozy.
Tatath followed her rider, head and tail held up high. After all, she had to look for hers and to set an example for the others. Acriculeth, Galifanth, Danath. Greetings to you.
Coming up and pulling herself together, Canoake smiled brilliantly at the other three Jr. riders plus the bronze rider, S'raid. "Greetings, I am afraid I only know your name, Bronzerider S'raid. My name is Canoake and congratulations to all of us for a successful, if not interesting Hatching. Such a small group, I am sure we will all get to know each other very well."

"Canoaoke," A'nos echoed, smiling at the undeniably lovely green rider, "a beautiful name, and an accurate observation I feel. I'd wager we'll feel like we've known one another a hundred turns before the month is out." He certainly wouldn't mind getting to know this one rather better, although of course that was off the cards for quite some time. Ah well, it was for Acriculeth, he'd live.
"Tatath," Acriculeth acknowledged idly, glancing at the smaller dragonet in an off-hand manner before looking away again. "You and yours have come to make friends, I imagine." It wasn't a question.
A'nos managed to appear to have the decency to be slightly abashed by his dragon's cool greeting to the green. "Be nice," he murmured, "you might not think much of anyone, but I'd like to make friends, please try not to spoil it." He could have said that mentally of course... well, probably. He'd spoken to his dragon in that manner a couple of times but he wasn't quite sure how, or if he could repeat it if he was actually thinking about it. Still, he had meant his words to be overheard, so it didn't matter for now anyway.
"They are both pretty," Acriculeth observed privately, "and looks can take you a long way even if you are only green. Could be useful."

"Thank you for the lovely compliment, though I dont think I have caught your name." She replied smoothly. At least, later on, when she would have to interact with him, he would be a pleasant face to look at... Perhaps, even a tumble in the furs. But for now, Tatath was all that mattered. A shame. She hadn't been chaste in four Turns now.
What does chaste mean? Tatath asked. She looked the bronze up and down, obviously trying to decide her feelings on him. Replying just as calmly, the green sat down and straightened herself up. Of course, and what else is there to do? It is good to know others of my clutch.
Already, the little green was picking up Canoake's speech mannerisms. She looked down her snout and then to the other greens, dismissing the bronze as if he couldn't understand what that was about... So good that there are other greens to talk to and be friends with... I hope mine will like your riders.
Canoake turned a chuckle into a slight cough. "Excuse me, Tatath said something amusing. And I agree, we shall all be very close by the time lessons end. After all, we are a group enough to make our own small wing. Complete with bronze and brown to lead us."
If that didn't stir the pot!

"Indeed," Acriculeth's tones were faintly amused as he replied to the green who was now snubbing him, "it is important for us to know one another. One day we might fly in the same wing, after all." One day he would be telling this little whelp what to do, no question. He would enjoy her resentment a great deal.
"Ah, of course, sorry," the tall young man chuckled and shook his head at himself, "it's A'nos; used to be Antigonos... We do seem to have just about the right balance of colours to make up a wing," he nodded, "though I confess I don't know a lot about red dragons so I don't know where she'd fit into a formation." If she even did, she might well choose to breed... If she was allowed to, of course. On the one hand, Benden needed more dragons, but on the other, letting the red rise and lay eggs was pretty well guaranteeing more atypical colours, and that was the last thing Benden wanted as matters stood. Matters, however, could change. If they did, he planned to be on the forefront of those accepting the new ways... Might be best not to be too vehemently against the red, then, or he'd look a right fool. Play at the calm, pensive arbitrator, after all that was what he was. Civility towards the red and her rider would be practically expected of him.

"It is odd," Eliaza agreed. "Having her voice in my head too." She looked at the other weyrlings around her and leaned forward a little, confessing, "And it's hard to keep straight whether I'm answering her questions out loud or in my head too. I'm half afraid I might say something I shouldn't." She might voice an opinion that would get her in trouble, after all. Or cause some sort of uproar.
You should not worry about those things, Mine. Everyone likes us, you will see. You will not say something to change that. No one could not like us!

K'day's face lit up when his mother spotted to him, vaguely recognizing the man that she pointed him out to. If his memory served him correctly S'raid was a bronzerider and one of the few that had gone with K'la to Trine. He inclined his head to the older man as a way of greeting before turning his attention back to his mother.
"K'day, actually. Oh, and this," he couldn't stop the swell of pride that made him raise his chin and stand that much taller, "Is Ninaeth." It was hard not to be filled with a kind of giddy excitement. He reached out a hand to stroke the blue's smooth head, earning him a soft, pleased rumble. The dragon pressed his neck against the boy's leg, eyes whirling a bright blue.
So this is your egg-mother, Ninaeth said as he tilted his head so he could get a better look at K'la and S'raid. She seems a little small. And you are the only one of her eggs to hatch and grow up? When K'day nodded he gave another rumble. How very strange. Will you say hi for me?
"Ninaeth says hi. And he's very pleased to meet you," the newly-made bluerider parroted back for his mother's sake.
