((I could tell, what with Marianne and secretly-plotting-Milly. xd So how should we start this thing...? But that should be a plot twist later. Milly turns out to be some power-hungry villain out for godhood. rofl ))

{Hooray! biggrin I did have one idea for Milly awhile back, but I'm not sure exaclty how well it would go. sweatdrop Or at least, I don't know if it'd be okay or not.}
Through the lush and rich town of Ardalone, arcane users as well as heretics and the like roamed about freely - living in harmony as many non-magical mortals would elsewhere. It was also notable that many of them wore outfits that, in other provinces, would be largely considered a sort of fanservice. (SEXAE TAWN!) Among them was an equally-scandalously dressed woman with short reddish-blonde hair and bright gray-blue eyes. She walked through the streets, juggling fireballs with a wide grin on her face. After all, she had sent a letter to Riley and Van months ago asking them to visit her when they could. Today was supposed to be the day they'd come to see her!

"Uh...Van? Are we in the right place...?" Riley looked around at all the scandalous outfits the girls wore, an awkward and nervous smile on his face as the pair walked through town. While he had grown up in recent years (he finally hit Van's shoulder last month!) he still wasn't quite used to the more adult world.
"If we are, she sure as hell didn't mention the clothing choice around here. And knowing her pure, virginal ways, I can't imagine how she took it." Van commented, his hands folded behind his head, surprisingly unaffected by the scantily clad women all over the place.

Mala was in the middle of the crowd now, grinning ever so broadly as she gradually began to make the fireballs bigger. A couple other mages joined in, forming balls of visible air and water to join in the fun. Some of the children that lived there stopped to watch the elemental spheres dance about in the air with much amusement.

"Hm? Hey, looks like there's a street show going on or something." Riley said spotting the elemental orbs float up from the midst of the crowd.
The boys pushed through to the front of the crowd, figuring they had time to stop and see the sights for a bit before hunting down Mala. Of course, their jaws dropped when they saw her dressed like the rest of the crowd, an outfit she normally looked down on. "MALA?!"

{Lol, just so there's no confusion, she's wearing the outfit in her pic}
Since the elemental orbs were currently formed into a lower circle, Mala jumped right through them and did a front flip - landing right in front of her brother and friend. The balls of fire dissintigrated(sp?) in the air as she looked up at them now, grinning. "Long time no see." It could also be noted that she had cut her hair, something that she would've also previously never done. Mala had done plenty of changing over the last two years of living in Ardalone.

"You...you cut your hair!"
"And you're dressed like a working girl..." Van put his hands firmly on Mala's shoulders and looked into her eyes with a serious expression. "Who are you and what have you done with Mala?"

Mala laughed at Riley and Van's words. "As you can probably tell, this manner of dress is normal - and conservative - for this region. At first, I was pretty uncomfortable - but now I kind of like it." she said, grinning. "So much has changed since I've last seen you both! Oh, we've got so much catching up to do!" she said, chuckling now.

"Eh, at least she's adapting instead of throwing a hissy fit about it." Van said to Riley with a shrug, the boy nodding in agreement. "Still, why the hair cut? I think it looked better long myself."

"I don't know. I guess I just wanted a change in look at the time." Mala said, shrugging. "No wait, I was tired of almost setting it on fire while training..." she then thought out loud, chuckling to herself once more. She then took a hold of Riley's hand as well as Van's and lead them towards her home. "Wait until you see my home! They are rather generous towards graduates from the acadamy~"

"She's training in fire magic. Best stay on her good side." Van commented to Riley half jokingly as they were pulled along.

Before long, the three stood in front of a rather large and expensive looking home. To be fair, all of the homes in this town were large and expensive - this one was just slightly moreso than many of the others. "Do you like?" she asked, turning towards the both of them after she let go of their hands.

"Man, it's almost on par with the homes of the gods..." Van said looking up at the building with minor surprise.
"If this is the sort of place that students live in, I'd hate to see where the people in charge live!" Riley said looking up in much more awe.

"Well, mages are held in high regards here. Especially one such as myself." Mala said rather proudly, opening the door to let the two inside. "Come, we've much to catch up on!" she said, obviously excited to be able to hang around Riley and Van again.

[Derp, what's happening? I'm sorry, I don't mean to ask, but it's easier to just describe the place and people in a nutshell. I'm sorry you have to go through the info just to tell me ;A;]
