Alces' eyes were still closed when the door opened, and he felt the door suddenly leave him tumbling quite unfashionably into Ursa's arms. "Ah good, you're home." He whispered, almost casually despite his state. His eyes opened as he felt not one, but two pairs of hands helping him, and he looked up to see Muris holding him by his other arm.
Exhausted as he was, he was sure that she was nothing but a mirage.
"Muri, Muri, Muri." He whispered, almost chanted, and closed his eyes again, leaning his head against the mirage. A rush of energy filled him as Ursa performed her spell, healing his wounds and returning him to normal.
Of course, normal meant rational, and rational meant that he was alive, and that was no angel his head rested upon.
"Muri!" He practically screeched out in shock, jumping up to a seated position to get a better look at her. Yes, she was there, and it was her. His eyes widened, momentarily stunned into silence.
He hadn't seen her in so long, too long. And yet here she was, in Ursa's home of all places, just when he was. It was enough to momentarily make him forget his guilt, if only to enjoy this moment.
He finally reacted, a ghost of a grin touching his features as he reached out to press his palm against her cheek.
"Muri," He whispered fondly, before realizing how foolish he must sound. He had just said her name a total of five times, and nothing else.

"Now then," Ursa said, her voice businesslike, "Alces, you need to come back to see me tommorow afternoon, and Muris, I need to come down and talk with you about Celenis. But most importantly, I think you two have some catching up to do." Ursa hugged each of them fondly before she moved back to collapse into her chair. "Oh, and I think I need to have a little talk with Cervus next time I see him. We need to do somthing about your name, Muris. Like, maybe tack a 'Lady' on there somewhere, eh?" Ursa grinned a tired, but mischevious, grin.

The mouse tinged red the first few times he'd said her name-- afterall, there were very few who officially knew about the mutual interest between herself and Alces, and Ursa wasn't one of those...Her cheeks became even -more- red, however, at Ursa's suggestion. "I..uhh..." she could hardly get a word out, her thoughts were so jumbled. She was so happy to see Alces here and alive when part of her had still though him dead...but then mixed in the remembrances of the Moon Court and their threats and promises of his death...and then here he was...
She burst into tears, but managed somehow to keep a bit of calm despite it, "Of course, Ursa..." she sputtered, sniffling a bit, "I...uh..we'll leave you now to rest..." she managed, grasping Alcie tightly by the arm, "But..uh..I don't know..about being a Lady.."
As though a common stablemouse could ever become a noble.
So many things...she gently pulled Alces away, out of the room. Ursa did need her rest, afterall.
Stormy seemed less than impressed with the Elk, and made this clear by growling quite loudly and making a few rude but half-hearted swipes at the man's ankles.

Ursa's voice, coupled with Muris' blush, suddenly reminded Alces that they were not alone, this was not in fact a dream, and he was very likely embarrassing Muris greatly. This aroused a blush to his cheeks, which only further proved that Ursa's magic had healed him fully to have enough blood to rush to his face and make him turn red. He was pulled up to his feet and almost let Muris drag him out, but before they reached the door Alces slipped his arm out of her hold. He stopped when his hand met hers, but turned back to Ursa and bent his newly healed arm at his waist, giving her a flourished bow.
"Though I don't want to trouble you further, I wouldn't think to leave without thanking you, my Lady Ursa. You've proven yourself as a master at your craft, and one day I will be certain to return the favor. Now if you'll excuse me, my Lady Muris is about to pull my arm off, and I fear I would require your services once more this evening if I do not comply."
He took the doorknob in his hand, and gave her a wink before closing it behind him.

Ursa sagged wearily back to her bed. In truth, the only thing that had been keeping her functioning for the past several hours was the special tea she had brewed, which was now begining to wear off. She made a mental note to go see Cervus when she woke up, and to check on Lilium, and to go down to the stables and mak..
She fell asleep in mid-thought, and she didn't wake up until late the next day

I have now officially experianced "pushing it too far." I almost passed out while Muris was in my room. Which would have been bad considering the fact that Alces was about ready to bleed out when he got to my door.
There is an interesting relationship. I think its perfectly fine, but I think Muris may have had some problems with the class differences. She'll get over it eventually.
I need to check Cervus and Lilium today, and it probably would not be a bad idea to double-check Alces too. He was in really bad shape. So many things are going on right now, and the work keeps piling up. Even so, I have to remember that I cannot manage to keep everything under control by working myself to exaustion. I need to find someone to help...maybe Ardea will have some ideas. Its about time that I checked on him anyway, although he seemed to be fine at the meeting.
Another interesting thing that I noticed earlier but did not realise until now. Filix is now wearing a ring, and judging from the way she and Aesculus have been behaving...It looks like Rosa and I are soon to be the only unmarried women in the court.
Somehow, the thought of sharing something with Rosa makes my hair stand on end.
I hope I can find someone like that...someone that I can share my thoughts and dreams with without fear. I feel so empty and alone right now...
Maybe Equus and Pappila are blessed, that they do not remember their Kithain, or their mistakes...
No, I cannot think that. I cherish the time I spent with Seeno, though the fact that he is gone pains me.
In any case, I must persevere.

Equus awoke slowly, as though he had to swim through layers of dark, glassy water to find the surface of consciousness. It was a long, winding trip and partway through he couldn't determine if he was going toward the light or falling deeper into the shivering blackness. Then a small warmth touched his upturned face and the boy continued onward, hopeful and trusting of his instincts.
When he broke through the last obsidian sheet, it was to take in unfamiliar surroundings with a pounding headache in addition to an upset stomach. The room was tiny and obviously not meant to be lived in: There were medicinal supplies scattered in places, crisp white bandages sharing space with infusions in amber-colored bottles. He suspected that it was a healer's room where Fey were treated for wounds.
Had he been hurt? He certainly felt like it.
"Hello...?" He called weakly, internally recoiling at the raspy sound of his voice. The young Fey pushed the blankets back, feeling too hot and uncomfortable for them to remain on. It did not help that they smelled oddly, a mix of old herbs and magic that tickled his sensitive nostrils.

Ursa, attuned as ever to the needs of her patients, slipped in quietly through the door. She looked at Equus for a moment before deciding what to do. "Hello, Equus. Do you remember me?" she might as well get that out of the way for now.
Walking smoothly, she moved over to sit on the foot of the sickbed he was lying in. The poor dear looked horrible, and he had that distinctive pinch in his eyes that signalled a headache. She gently put a hand to his forhead to check his temperature. Who knew what side effects that vile magic had inflicted on him.

He hadn't anticipated being responded to so quickly, nor had he expected his name to be on foreign lips. The boy's tail gave an anxious twitch beneath the blankets and he quickly scooted over to give the woman some room to sit.
"No, ma'am, I'm afraid I don't," Equus answered somberly, a faint blush taking up residence on his face when she touched his forehead; it took every scrap of self-control not to pull away from the stranger's careful hand.
"Should I?" He asked after a terrible pause, grey eyes wary of the answers this Fey might hold. He remembered the violet clouds of light and his tiny muscles bunched, as though ready for a fight that was already over.

Ursa glanced away for a moment, mentaly cursing the Moon court and whatever vile sorceress had done this. "Well, I'm Ursa, and I'm the healer and shaman for the Sun Court," she said, turning back to give him a kind smile. "And I think you have a headache, right?"
She got up and fished around for a moment before finding what she wanted: a bottle of some sort of extract, a waterskin, and a cup. She filled the cup with water and carefully put ten drops of the extract into the water and swirled it around before handing it to Equus. "Here, drink this, it whould help."

He listened, wondering what it was he wasn't being told. At the shaman's question, the Fey gave a short nod, too polite to ask outright what Ursa was keeping to herself. He tried to return her well-meant smile, but his expression was so obviously forced that he dropped it after a moment.
Equus took the cup between two hands so as not to spill, looking down into the mixture with mild interest. "Thank you," he murmured, drinking the draught deeply and trying not to pull a face at the saccharine taste. He offered it back to her once the substance was gone, wiping his mouth with a sleeve.
"Um..." He looked around, tempted to peek under the blankets to see if he was bandaged anywhere; it was difficult to tell since the low throbbing ache was everywhere. "Miss Ursa, did something happen to me?" he asked finally, an apologetic look crossing his features at having to resort to asking her.

Ursa sighed and sat back down on the bed. This was going to be complicated. "Short answer: Yes. A couple of days back, you and Pappila, another of the Sun Court Fey, were...well, for lack of a better word you were attacked by a Moon Court Spell. It caused you to revert to the age you were when you were freed from the curse, and apparently erased all of your memories, or at least a lot of them. You remember the curse, right?" Ursa had wondered just how much the spell had effected the two children, but this was the first time she had gotten to ask one of them.
Although, she supposed, If they are reverted back to the memories and abilities of when they were freed, then Pappila couldn't tell me much anyway. She was too young to speak when we were sealed away, if I remember correctly.

The sudden, huge insight washed over him like a cold tidal wave, and he had to summon a calmness from the most shadowy corners of his mind in order to stay in control. The healer had asked him a question, he had to answer.
"Yes, I remember the curse." He said, voice tight with inheld emotion. The Moon Court had attacked him? For what reason? Had he done something to one of the Fey there? Equus was frustrated to the point of tears that he couldn't remember, but he absolutely refused to cry in front of Ursa, or before anyone else for that matter.
The blank state of mind he encountered when he tried to think back before the amethyst spell did not improve his headache, but he noted that it was fading due to whatever drink the shaman had given him.
Who was I? He wanted to ask, What was I like? Was I even half as brave as my father was?
But he couldn't ask those burning questions, couldn't rely on another to tell him of the life he had lost. The boy curled his knees up against his chest, laying his arms across them and putting his chin on one limb.
"Why was it only me and Pappila?" he asked quietly, deciding it was safe to ask at least that much. Equus had been blindsided, but like any warrior worth his salt, he was getting back up again and assessing the damage done rather than letting the news overwhelm him.

This was going to be worse than she had thought. Why was it that boys always tried to keep everything bottled up inside? It never really helped things, and almost always made it worse.
And why did he have to ask the questions that she didn't know the answers to?
"To be perfectly honest, I do not know for sure why the spell targeted you and Pappila. I have to admit, I felt a certain...draw...from the spell, as though it was looking for somthing that I shared with several others. I have no idea what it was, though..." Ursa left unsaid her wondering if it was connected to their Kithain. She had no practical evidince of that, nothing to prove or disprove her theory.

So the others had felt it but only he had fallen to it? Equus winced, putting a hand over his face as though his head still ached to hide the gesture. He wanted to remember everything: interactions, battles, terrors faced and put to rest; but there was only that chilling nothingness, only thoughts of his pre-cursed existence and what had occured while he dwelled in the stained panes of a window.
"Is Miss Pappila okay?" He didn't know her, but there was worry enough to go around and it seemed only right that he direct a portion of it her way. Equus actually felt somewhat badly that he hadn't considered the other's condition before, caught up as he was in his own troubles.
There was no sense in pressing the issue of what had happened anyway. Ursa appeared to have no idea beyond what she had disclosed, and it made him incredibly uncomfortable to keep speaking about the matter.
