This was not kosher at all.
Since his arrival in the injured cabin, Jack had been trying find a way to get out of his entrapment, faint growls and grumbles escaping from the cut out portions of pumpkin that served as a mouth and eyes. It was almost insulting to him, for he knew that from the outside, his eyes lit up the 'eyes' of the Jack o' Lanturn, which only made him feel even more embarrassed and mocked.
But by no mean was he not listening to the ensemble around him. Taking a moment to forget about his cage, he looked up to Akihiko and Salali before nodding, forgetting how stupid he must look. "I concur, I believe there are more than two foxes, as she said." He muttered from the pumpkin. "Above all, I also believe there may be someone, or something, that is affecting our attackers. I'm not sure what it is, but it seemed like there was another force at play. I still think it's odd that things went the way they did." He admitted, before regarding Salali, and leaving his spot to wander over to her, sitting in her range of sight.
His curiousity and wonderment was lost on anyone due to the pumpkin head that adorned over his face, but he was content to see her active. "It is good seeing you on your way to recovery, though. The little wisp of a lady who had been a partner to you was worried about you in the main room . . ." he trailed, hoping Lumidee was safe in the dining room again.
"I wish I could get these blasted pumpkins off so I coudl storm my way back in there." Jack was all about serious business now.

"They all went crazy," Puck said, waving his pumpkins around in a series of wild gestures; then he drooped. "Dumb ol' pumpakins. Not like havin' normal ones shoved on head. Like bein' sick. Terrible cookies," he muttered. "Tried to grab 'em an' they went POOF! all powder-like and... tried to catch with tongue and BAM! pumpakins." He folded his arms as best he could and sulked, obscurely bothered by the fact that the carved pumpkin face was smiley and not sulking too.
"So nobody in here's a... fox," the poltergeist added, glancing at Salali again. "Crazy guys went somewhere else."

Faint felt bad for Jack. Maybe he had no pity for the others, but he felt himself pulled to Jack like the cats that often twirled around him. He growled to himself inwardly, not happy that it made him seem like he could be mastered. None-the-less, he pushed himself dizzily from the bed, mad his wobbly way to Jack, and crouched, examining the pumpkins. "I wonder if we can get these off?"
Still listening to the conversation around him, he shook his head. "No foxes here. Just a lot of injuries and confusion. ... And gourds." At least, he hoped there were no "foxes" here. But who knew? Betty and Breic had turned on eachother. Who knew if they'd somehow injured another attacker and sent them here?

"To be safe in another burrow...is the only healing," Salali murmured. Her body was still unresponsive, so much so that she couldn't even turn her head. She was delighted to have Jack come over; it was such a hindrance not being able to see everyone! Whens he did see, however, a smile twitched at the corners of her lips. She didn't let it take full shape, as it was inappropriate. "Not a cage of metal nor bone but a fruit! Hu! Is that all it is? Or also a knife or stone?" She rolled her eyes to Puck, as he too mentioned pumpkins so she thought he might be so inflicted. If it didn't hurt, than perhaps they hadn't been bitten too badly.
"No foxes here...yes...why would a fox want to eat what has already been eaten?" It seemed to make sense to her. Even if one was here, what could it accomplish?...well, perhaps it was better not to think of that. They were all injured, but alive. She didn't want to bring her thoughts past that point.

"Eatenbyfoxes? I'mnotfoxpoop!" Cooper mumbled, indignantly, having been trying to follow the now rather elaborate metaphor for their situation. He remembered in mid-mumble that he'd been contemplating accusing Salali herself of being a fox. Chargrined, he cleared his throat.
"Um. Ikindawasthinkingyouwereafox. Beforeyoufainted. I'msorry." he apologized. "Thehorseguywassittingbesideyou. Ithoughthepoisonedyou. Sortaright. Ithinkthewitchgotyou. Doesthatmeanthehorseguygottheskeletonandreaper? Canhoovescut? Idon'thinkso. Gottabeathirdperson."

Akihiko grins inwardly to himself, and lays back in his bed. "Mm." He begins to think , of something that's apparently funny. " Maybe it wouldn't want to eat what has been eaten, rather finish off what he...or it started had started....after all...we are all just injured..?" His blue orbs reminded staring at the ceiling of the cart. Akihiko didn't bother to turn or look at anyone, he had enough for awhile. "So maybe the attackers where under a spell? " He offered to Jacks assumption of 'someone, or something, that is affecting the attackers' with that he closed his eyes and snorted softly.

"Since the beginning, it seems that we've encountered all forms. Some form of sharp edge, magic to those who were unfortune, a swift hoof or two, and a mysterious physical attack." He educated Salali. To see the quirk of a smile made the entertainer grin a little in his cage, knowing that even in the darkest of times he could break the strain with a little bit of wit. Even if it meant having fruit on your head. Leaning back a little into a chair, he thumped his tail softly on the floor, staring at his pumpkin hands before hearing the large voice of Faint, the weretiger ring through the cage and make him turn his head to regard him, grin still evident on his face at the offer of assistance.
"I'm sure if my hands weren't encased, this one on my head would have been long since removed. Very difficult to do things like play music or hold stationary when your hands are encased in fruits." He murmured, before lifting them up. "Any attempts would be appreciated, dear friend."
Turning to regard Akihiko, he nodded softly, which didn't show very much in the pumpkin cage, before shrugging a little bit. "Spell maybe. They could have just been pursuaded somehow. If you have enough charisma, you could make anyoen do things in your favour. But it's very hard to make someone do something they wouldn't do, so they would have wanted to do something. I dunno." It was all very complicated, and Jack didn't feel like thinking too much harder.

Faint leaned close to Jack's hands, seeming to take a deep inhale of breath, almost as if he were smelling it. His golden eyes glinted slightly and his blinked. "I didn't know pumpkins were fruits." Then again, he'd never thought of pumpkins as more than just October decoration. Were they edible? Probably really gross. They clearly wouldn't taste like meat.
He placed his large hands on either side of the gourd encasing his right hands and dug his blunt, black nails into the orange flesh and looked up. "If it hurts, tell me to stop." And with that he began trying to spread his arms, grinding his teeth slightly. Pumpkins could be difficult to brake when naturally grown; these magically procured lanterns were going to give him a run for his money. Perhaps if he had the ability to shift into his tiger form the extra mass would help. But it took some time and could be painful, and he would bet his stripes it would hurt tenfold for the FEAR dis-abler.

"Dirty tricks," Puck groused, bringing up his hands in front of his face - what little he could see out through the jack-o-lantern, anyway. "Witchywitch cookies made the pumpakins, I think. Poison? Who got hit, fell down when it wasn't dark? Betcha that witchywitch gotcha. An' the horsey got the others." He nodded, trying to be as sage as one could be with a pumpkin on one's head.

"Squirrels are the same color of foxes, sometimes. The eyes can be tricked," Salali told Cooper. It was her odd way of saying that it was alright...mistakes happen. "It's hard to tell moles from foxes now, let alone squirrels I suppose." She tried to think back to the one who had sat beside her...her mind was still a little fuzzy on some details due to the attack. Her gaze drifted back to the wall of the train behind her head. "...Who does not changed the what, but both foxes were driven above ground...?"
She stopped for a moment, blinking her eyes tiredly before passing her gaze around to those she could see. "Does a fox need a cat to tell it to hunt? Cannot a fox hunt alone?"

Puck was having kind of a hard time following Salali's logic, especially since the pumpkin-head made it hard to hear, but he spoke up again after a few fruitless minutes spent clawing at the inside of the pumpkins around his hands.
"Horsey-boy and witchywitch were hunting alone! Not together, no. So there's 'nother one alone? One more little foxie?" He licked his lips. "Good thing we're all safe, yes. Safe here in cozy place."

Balumf thought she heard someone say that they were going to try to get the pumpkins off, but she wasn't sure. She wondered whether she was thinking like Salali. Maybe she hadn't bumped her head but was suffering from an oxygen shortage. Yeah, that'd make sense! It WAS crushing her gills... It would sort of explain why the shaman girl was actually making sense! Or the pumpkin had a weird way of muffling the sound.
She pondered as her gills worked to try to get oxygen to her brain. It wasn't as bad as being strangled, but it wasn't fun at all. "Maybe the third... Fox... Knew about them both and wanted us all to itself... so it tricked them somehow, or manipulated them into attacking at the same time at each other... And then, I guess got you over there?" She gestured vaguely with a claw at Faint. She couldnt remember who the voice belonged to. Was it the acid beast? the Werewolf? the angry wolf-boy? One of the other brash ones? She couldn't tell. But she had heard that he was strangled. He was lucky to be alive. "Squirrels?"

When did foxes come into play? And squirrels? Fauste's already aching head ached even more as he tried to keep up with the conversation, and he winced, closing his eyes to rest them as he massaged his temples.
He then gave Faint a sympathizing look that quickly faded as he felt a sharp neck on his back - he was aching everywhere! He grimaced before relaxing again, gesturing to Faint as he addressed the group, "I guess... The third... Fox took advantage of the chaos - when everyone's attention was focused on the two foxes that surfaced - to strangle him. Seems like he or she went undetected..."
He sighed, frowning as he stood up, trying to ignore the pain in his legs. Since Faint was attempting to remove the... Pumpkins, he thought he might offer a hand to those who might need it as well. Looking around the spacious cabin, Fauste spoke, "Hey, I can help remove the pumpkin on your hands? It'll probably hurt unless someone has some sort of lubricant to aid the pumpkin to come off though... Unless you want me to try and break it? But you could just... Try smashing the pumpkins on your hands against the floor or wall?"

Balumf attempted to glare in Fauste's general direction. "You try moving your arms when they feel like lead and are covered by a pumpkin.... It IS a pumpkin, right?"

Cooper smiled despite how much he ached, glad to be forgiven. Still, foxes, squirrels, moles, and pumpkins? All he'd really wanted to do on the train was run towards the front of the car. Somewhere in the twists and turns of his head, he'd figured this would equate to him running faster than the train... relatively speaking. And now there were attacks, and wild bronco rides, and hexed cookies, and people wearing pumpkin hats and gloves.
Cooper couldn't help it. He started giggling. Which turned into a laugh. Which began sounding a bit hysterical.
"Thisisjustridiculous!" he gasped, tears at the corners of his eyes from the pain of laughing with bruised ribs.
