Tarot shook her head. "I's not special there," she protested. The house belonged to everybody. Her, Sev, any friends who came over to visit. She wanted a special place that was all her own. She was almost positive Sev would give permission for her to start a garden over there was well. Anything that kept her from wandering in the wooded areas would make him happy.

She didn't falter in her dancing. Now a drum beat played in her head. It was slow and steady, much like the Native American stuff that Sev liked to listen to to relax. Soon a flute of the same style joined in.

As it settled into a particular rhythem Tarot would occasionally stomp a foot down on the ground to mimic one of the louder drumbeats. "Y'r sister does what," she asked, focused on the ground. This section had several large cracks in it, and required her attention to full hop around them all.

Tyyne frowned a little at Tarot's arguing, sighing and shaking her head. "But it's safer for you and the flowers. If they're out by themselves someone could kill them, people can be very cruel to plants sometimes..." It would be better at home, it would be safer, it would be easier. It wasn't special? Tyyne didn't agree with that argument. If something wasn't special you could make it special, and if you put the effort and thought and belief in it anything to be special. Heck, Tyyne had turned her mother's boring back yard into a giant garden just because she wanted to badly to make her sister smile! Anything was possible. She watched Tarot do her strange little musicless dance with a smile, giggling when her stomps got harder and her dancing changed up a bit. How cute!

"She's always called our momma by her name. I don't think I've ever heard her call her mom or anything of the sort." She hadn't heard it, so she didn't know Evari had on extremely rare occasions called Xai mom. She thought it was odd that some children called their parents by their names instead of 'mom' or 'dad' but...surely they had their reasons. Still, it was strange. Tyyne giggled a little. "You remind me of my sister a little." In that Tarot, so far, proved to be very stubborn. She was a lot nicer but she seemed firm on the bad idea of growing her garden on the hill.

The song came to a stop in Tarot's head. She ended the dance with a giant stomp then went back to walking normally. "Sev doesn' act like a daddy," she explained, "bu' he doesn' act like a mommy neither. He's no' a daddy and no' a mommy, so he's gotta be a Sev."

This made perfect sense to Tarot, who had even explained it to Severus before. He hadn't argued back, but then he'd sat there muttering to himself for some time. It had been awhile since he'd done that.

"Could put a fence around it," Tarot stated. She wasn't insulted that Tyyne doubted her ability to protect her garden. Apparently being little, it was just something that came with the territory.

That...was odd. How did a person not act like a mommy or a daddy? Even Xai acted like a mommy! Though really was there supposed to be a specific behavior for a mommy or daddy other than taking care of their child and making sure they were fed? Tyyne felt that was what made someone 'act' like a mommy or daddy...she'd just call Sev Tarot's daddy! Even if Tarot protested to it. A daddy was a 'he' and that's what she kept saying, so he couldn't be a mommy but he could be a daddy.

Tyyne gave a little sigh at Tarot's continued insistence on growing this garden somewhere else, frowning at Tarot. "Please just grow it at your house?" She pleased, starting to get desperate. Goodness! This girl was just as bad as the argument with Bug about her shirt! Why was it so hard to just grow her garden at home where it belonged?

Tarot sighed. Tyyne was doing a mommy thing, worrying and fussing. Older people just couldn't be reasoned with, always worrying about danger. Did Tyyne really think Tarot wouldn't go back to the spot anyway? If she was gonna take care of her lavender there, she might as well make her garden there.

Well, secret gardens usually involved a secret of some kind. She could hide some of the seeds to plant over there later when Tyyne wasn't around to fuss. She'd make an awesome garden, and Tyyne would see how great an idea it had been!

Even so, Tarot was sulking a bit and didn't answer back.

Tyyne frowned and watched Tarot, noticing the way she was sulking. Oh dear...did she make her mad? She didn't understand why it was she was so against growing a garden at her house! Tyyne made hers special! It wasn't hard at all...it wasn't fair that Tarot was making her feel bad. "I'm sorry you're unhappy...but it would just make more sense, and be better for you to grow it at home." Tyyne was putting her foot down! Er...her hoof. She was putting her hoof down!

She looked around for a moment, noticing they were in a neighborhood full of houses now. "So which one is yours? Is it around here?"

"Like th' way the hill feels better," Tarot replied, just for the sake of letting it be known she did not agree with Tyyne. The front of the yard had so much less space compared to the back.

When Tyyne asked about her house Tarot remembered she was supposed to be the one leading. She stopped and looked around her, frowning. It seemed familiar from her walking with Sev, but she wasn't entirely sure.

She could definetly see some trees over the roofs, and knew her house would be somewhere by trees. "'S over here," she said, turning down a street and cutting through a couple yards, heading towards the less clustered together homes.

Ugh, come on. Was it so hard to just...agree? Tyyne sighed again and wanted so badly to drag her hands down her face but the heavy load, that seemed to feel like it was getting heavier and heavier the longer they walked, reminded her that such a thing wouldn't be possible. If she had known Tarot was thinking Tyyne was implying she could only grow plants in the front yard she would have been quick to correct her; she could grow them anywhere...in her yard. Why was she so adamant on the hill? It wasn't...she couldn't...just...no! Why did it have to be there? Siiiiigh.

Tyyne adjusted her grip on the fertilizer and shovel and followed Tarot, blinking and looking around as they cut through yards instead of taking the sidewalk. Um...o-okay. She'd let this one slide, because even Tyyne would probably do this. Maybe. Maaaybe. Possibly.

"I'm sure he'll be so relieved when we bring you home." Tyyne said with a smile, looking down at Tarot. Of course her daddy would be relieved! What parent wouldn't be relieved and feel better because their child who disappeared had returned? Surely he must have been terribly worried when he couldn't find his precious daughter anywhere.

"He'll fuss a' me," Tarot said, agreeing with Tyyne. For reasons unbeknownst to her, Sev always seemed at his happiest when fussing. Or maybe it was just her, she wasn't sure.

Right now Tarot was more worried that she wouldn't be able to find her house. It was around here somewhere, right? A frown pulled at the corners of her mouth. How would she find the thing if she didn't know where to look? .....Idea!

Tarot stopped, and listened. Wind, trees, lawnmowers, birds, dogs. There! "I's this way," she said, voice far more confident now as she moved along. She source of her new confidence? The distant voice of a man calling out, "Tarot! Tarot!"

Tyyne chuckled softly and glanced down at Tarot at the way she complained about 'fussing'. "It's because he cares." She tried to assure her, hoping she'd listen for once. When Tarot stopped Tyyne stopped as well, her ears perked and just waiting. Was something wrong? Was she trying to hear something? She suddenly heard the voice as well calling Tarot's name, gasping gently. That must have been her daddy!

"Lead the way~!" She chirped, following after her with a bright smile. Yay! They were almost home! She spotted the man soon enough...was he really a man? His hair was so long! But if Tarot said he was a he then she'd believe it! She gestured toward him with her head and looked down at Tarot again. "That's your daddy, right?"

Tarot shook her head. "That's my Sev," she said, firmly. Seeing him now turned in their direction, she gave one of her white hands and brief wave by way of greeting.

Severus stood rooted to the spot, a bit taken aback by the sight of a young girl with a deer's body from the waist down. Tarot's little wave seemed to thaw the ice, and you could visibly see muscles in his body relaxing from their stiff positions. "There you are," he cried, striding across the street to scoop the toddler in his arms.

Tarot made a face. She hated being picked up, for some odd reason. "Pu' me down, Sev," she complained, tugging on a lock of his recently dried black hair.

Severus gave Tarot a disbelieving look, and only shifted her in his arms so she wouldn't have as easy an access to his hair. "Who's your new friend?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 30, 2010 7:43 pm

Yes, Sev. Her daddy. Tarot wasn't going to win this one, or the garden thing really but Tyyne had a feeling she wasn't going to listen and grow the garden close to her house like Tyyne wanted her to, she was going to call Sev what he was! Tarot's daddy. Tyyne wore a warm smile when Tarot's daddy seemed relieved and even hurried over to pick up Tarot, giggling softly and adjusting the fertilizer in her arms. She liked seeing a parent who loved their child. Tyyne watched them quietly, letting them have their little moment of reunion until the attention was suddenly brought back to her. Eep! Um...new friend? Her? Really?

"My name's Tyyne! Um...I'm really sorry, i-it's my fault she was gone, she wanted to grow pretty flowers so I took her to the flower shop without asking for your permission first. I'm really sorry!" She was! Why hadn't she thought to do that before? Stupid, stupid, stupid! Tyyne shifted the heavy bag in her arms. It felt like it was just getting heavier and heavier. "I was hoping I could...um...help her start a garden?" By the house, of course.

Severus looked from Tyyne to Tarot, frowing a little, then back at Tyyne. "I don't blame you. I'm sure the little savage didn't even think to mention letting me know." He set the toddler down on her feet and moved forward to take the bag of fertilizer from Tyyne so she didn't have to juggle a heavy object on each arm.

"A garden, huh? Where were you planning on putting it," he asked, juggling the bag to one arm so he could grab one of Tarot's hands with the other, and led the group back across the street to the yard.

"Tyyne wan's it by th' house, so gotta have two gar'ens," Tarot stated, clinging to Sev with her other hand then letting her weight drop so that she swung from his arm like a monkey. It was her own subtle way of discouraging the hand-holding thing as much as possible.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 01, 2010 12:23 pm

Oh...that was true. But little savage? Tyyne didn't think she was savage! She hoped that was just a pet name. Evari called her weird things all the time; Tyynebug, Tyynebutt, Deerbutt..things like that. But still! Tyyne had been so worried that Tarot's parent would be worried, you'd think she'd have thought to bring Tarot to her house first. It may have been her excitement about flowers and gardens that distracted Tyyne from considering that option. Oops! She was very sorry about that. She blinked and watched as the man came down to pick up the bag for her, sighing with relief and letting her arms drop. That felt so much better! Her arms were so tired! "Thank you."

So he was okay with the garden? Tyyne smiled as she walked across the street with them, looking toward the house. It didn't look bad at all! Why didn't Tarot want to grow her garden there? She pouted a little when Tarot said she'd just grow two gardens, making her idea sound like a bad one. Sigh. "It would be better if it was grown by the house. Much safer for everyone." The flowers included. She watched Tarot swing from Severus' hand, giggling a little. It looked like fun! To her what Tarot was doing was just her being silly, not trying to free her hand.

Severus winced theaterically, though he could easily hold Tarot's weight. "Tyyne's right kiddo, I don't think you can keep up with two gardens. Let's see how you do by the house first."

Tarot turned her head to look at Tyyne, then up at Sev, frowning. She tried to put a bit more pull to her hold, but being tiny it didn't really work. "Wanna make a special garden!"

Severus sighed, and shot Tyyne an apologetic look. "We'll see, maybe after you get bigger." He knew that stubborn set to her face though. He'd have to have a chat with the toddler later.
