Well, the Dark Series is nothing to pass on. If you enjoy superhuman/ love and romance, it could be perfect for you. If that's not your type of genre, still read it. Carpathians, people of the Earth, have special powers, and each of them are assinged a life mate at birth. You will not find them at the very beginning, but when you do, you two are bound for life. Very legit. There is something called the darkness, that eats at you the longer you spend looking for your life mate. If you wait too long, it completly takes you over and you become a vampire. Vampires are not entitled to a life mate, and they only desire to kill. No matter if your a human or a Carpathian. Each of the books is based on a diffrent couple, and they are all linked together in some way. The first one is called, "The Dark Prince," featuring Mikhail, and Raven Dubrinsky. Read it, and be amazed. Lol.
((Also, it is a bit more mature. It has mild language, and very descriptive romance scenes))

Maximum Ride by James Patterson. Just about one of the greatest book ever, comparable to THG, it's about a group of kids, who were experimented on by an evil institution called to school, and were given wings. They run away, chased by other hybrids called Erasers, that are human and wolf. There's Max (Maximum Ride), Fang, and Iggy (who is blind) and their all fourteen. Then there's Nudge, who's eleven, Gazzy, who's eight and Angel, who's six.
A MUST read.

Yeah, I agree. The Uglies series was really good and it The Hunger Games reminded me of it. Maybe it's because of the sci-fi-ish, future theme.

My favorite series ever written: Underland Chronicles, also written by Suzanne Collins I would like to start a guild based on this series. If anyone's interested, message me. Other GREAT reads that are as awesome as THG: - Maximum Ride *action-packed, non-stop awesomness* - Daniel X *pretty action-packed and alieny* - Fablehaven *full of your fav mythical creatures* - Paranormalcy *mythical creatures, and one kick-but protag* - Percy Jackson *Greek myth and awesomeness* - Eragon *dragons, wars, and action* - 39 Clues *history, around the world, clue hunt adventure all in one* - Cirque du Freak *vamps and people with strange talents* - Chronicles of Narnia *well, practically everyone knows this one* - Cryptid Hunters *cryptid animals and jungle adventure* - Diary of a Wimpy Kid *easy read, pretty humorous*
